- Abstract
Alexithymia, by definition, is having difficulty in identifying and expressing emotions. It is of particular importance to determine alexithymia and alexithymia-related variables that are both seen in the healthy population and accompany various psychological/ psychiatric disorders. Although there are studies on the relationships between alexithymia and related anxiety, emotion regulation and interpersonal problems, there are a limited number of studies examining these variables together. Examining alexithymia and the variables that may be related to it will contribute to the individual’s lives and the field of clinical psychology when evaluated in terms of identifying individuals experiencing this problem, creating treatment protocols and strengthening their relationships. Therefore, it is aimed to examine the mediating effect of anxiety and emotion regulation on the relationship between alexithymia and interpersonal problems. The study sample consists of 428 people aged 18-25. The study used the sociodemographic Information Form, Toronto Alexithymia Scale, Beck Anxiety Inventory, Difficulty in Emotion Regulation Scale-Short Form, and Interpersonal Problems Inventory. Findings indicate that there is a positive relationship between alexithymia and interpersonal problems. Individuals with high alexithymia scores also have high interpersonal issues. In addition, it shows that anxiety and emotion regulation have a mediating effect on the relationship between alexithymia and interpersonal problems. It suggests that the study’s findings may be useful for identifying individuals with alexithymia and creating intervention programs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Due to the multifaceted psychosocial problems of adults with ADHD and the low level of functionality in different areas such as education, work and family life, the search for psychotherapeutic treatment other than pharmacological approaches has increased in the last decade. This study aims to evaluate the clinical contributions of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)-based interventions and the controlled studies in which DBT were tested. This study is a qualitative narrative review. This review included the controlled studies reached by searching the DDT and Adult ADHD as keywords in Medline, Pubmed, Science Direct and EBSCO Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection databases until 2021. A total of 12 research articles and 1 short report were identified, but only 9 studies met the inclusion criteria and controlled study conditions. In all studies, it was seen that the skills training mode of DBT was used or adapted. Although the results of the studies reviewed in this review are not consistent, DBT Skills Training shows promise in controlling ADHD symptoms and increasing other psychosocial skills of adults. However, there is a need for more controlled studies on the effectiveness of DBT Skills Training in different experimental research designs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study investigated whether resilience mediated the relationship between cognitive factors (maladaptive schemas and positive perception) and psychological symptoms (depressive symptoms and wellbeing). Two hundred thirty one young adult participants were administered the Young Schema Scale, Positive Perception Scale, Resilience Scale for Adults, Beck Depression Scale, and Warwick and Edinburg Mental Wellbeing Scale. The participants’ ages ranged from 18 to 30. The Disconnection/Rejection and Impaired Autonomy/Performance schema domains predicted depressive symptoms. The Disconnection/ Rejection, Impaired Autonomy/Performance, Other-Directedness and Overvigilance/Inhibition schema domains predicted wellbeing. Psychological resilience fully mediated the relationship between Overvigilance/Inhibition schema domain and depressive symptoms, and partially mediated the relationship between the Impaired Autonomy/Performance schema domain and depressive symptoms. Psychological resilience fully mediated the relationship between the Disconnection/Rejection, Impaired Autonomy/Performance schema domains, and well-being. High levels of positive perception enhanced psychological resilience and wellbeing, and reduced depressive symptoms. When individuals were psychologically resilient, they did not feel depressed even if they demonstrated an Overvigilance and Inhibition Schema. Individuals sustained well-being when they were resilient, even if they scored high on the Disconnection/Rejection and Impaired Autonomy/Performance schema domains. The findings indicated that psychological resilience could protect individuals from feelings of depression only in the presence of certain maladaptive schemas., Bu çalışma bilişsel faktörler (uyumsuz şemalar ve pozitif algı) ile psikolojik semptomlar (depresif semptomlar ve mental iyi oluş) arasındaki ilişkide psikolojik dayanıklılığın aracı rolünü incelemektedir.

The Group Climate Questionnaire-Short Form (GCQ) has beenthe most frequently used instrument in the group psychotherapy research. TheGCQ measures group members’ perceptions of the group’s therapeutic environment. This study translated and adapted the GCQ into Turkish. Fifty psychotherapistsjoined a fourday training on group psychotherapy. Factor structure wasanalyzed by employing Principal Component and Confirmatory Factor Analyses.Psychometric properties including reliability, validity, and factor structureof the GCQ indicated a three factor structure including Engagement, Conflict, and Avoidance. The data fit the model best without including Item 8 under theEngagement subscale. Cronbach alpha levels were .78 (Conflict), .73(Engagement), and .59 (Avoidance). Construct validity was established using theMultidimensional Relationship Questionnaire. Turkish adaptation of the GCQ was shown to be valid and reliable. TheGCQ-Turkish had three factors, similar to the original version. Psychometricproperties were discussed with comparison to the previous studies whichutilized the GCQ., Grup Ortamı Anketi (GCQ) grup psikoterapisi araştırmalarında en çok kullanılan ankettir.

PSYCHOTHERAPISTS ,CAREER development ,PROFESSIONAL employees ,PROFESSIONAL education - Abstract
Objective: This study explored professional characteristics of psychotherapists in Turkey, examined the changes in their professional developmental processes, and compared the professional characteristics of the trainees and experienced therapists. Methods: The participants were 88 psychotherapists, including trainee (N=37) and experienced (N=51) psychotherapists in Turkey. They completed the Development of Psychotherapists Common Core Questionnaire (DPCCQ), developed by the Collaborative Research Network. Results: The participants identified with the cognitive theoretical orientation most often. 30% had more than two salient orientations. The most prevalent therapy modality was individual, followed by couples, family, and group psychotherapy. Ongoing supervision rate was 44%. Trainees scored lower on effectiveness in engaging patients in a working alliance, feeling natural while working with patients, effectiveness in communicating their understanding and concern to their patients, and feeling confident in their role as therapists. Experienced therapists made changes in the therapeutic contract and invited collaboration from families more often compared to the trainees. 63% of the variance in Healing Involvement was explained by Overall Career Development, Currently Experienced Growth, being influenced by the humanistic approach, and the impact of the main therapeutic environment; 26% of the variance in Stressful Involvement was explained by the length of official supervision received and having control over the length of therapy sessions. Conclusion: Therapists were more cognitively oriented, less eclectic, and had less supervision compared to their international counterparts. Experienced therapists were more flexible, natural, and confident than the trainees. Supervision, a supportive work environment, the humanistic approach, and investment in career development were essential to providing a healing environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Bununla birlikte psikolojik dayanıklılığın psikopatoloji ve bilişsel risk faktörleri arasında kısmi bir tampon rolünün olduğu, bununla birlikte bilişsel koruyucu faktörle beraber ruh sağlığına katkıda bulunduğu görülmektedir., This study examines the association between early maladaptive schemas as a risk factor and positive perception as a protective factor between psychological resilience, depression and psychological well-being.- and the mediator effect of psychological resilience over those relationships. The participants of the study included a total 231 participants (174 female and 57 male) aged between 18 and 30. The data was obtained through Young Schema Scale, Positive Perception Scale, Resilience Scale for Adults, Beck Depression Scale, Warwick and Edinburg Mental Wellbeing Scale. The data was evaluated with SPSS 22 programme with the macro add-on called PROCESS. The study findings show that all early maladaptive schemas are negatively and significantly related to depression. Even though psychological well-being was expected to be negatively related to all of the maladaptive schema domains only Disconnection/ Rejection and Impaired Autonomy are significantly and negatively related to psychological well-being. Also the results show that only Disconnection/ Rejection, Impaired Autonomy, Impaired Limits and Other Directedness are significantly and negatively related to psychological resilience. When it comes to the mediator role of psychological resilience between maladaptive schemas and depression, resilience has a partial mediation effect on the relationship between Disconnection/ Rejection, Impaired Autonomy, Impaired Limits and Other Directedness schema domains over depression. Furthermore, psychological resilience has a partial mediaton effect between Disconnection/ Rejection, Impaired Autonomy and psychological well-being relationship. Resilience has no mediaton effect on the relationship between the other 3 schema domains and psychological well-being. Positive perception is positively and significantly correlated to psychological well-being and psychological resilience and negatively and significantly correlated to depression. Furthermore, resilience has a partial mediation effect on the relationship between positive perception and psychological wellbeing/ depression. Overall, the results show that early maladaptive schemas as a cognitive risk factor and positive perception as a cognitive protective factor play an essential role on psychological resilience and mental health. Psychological resilience stands out as a "buffer zone" between psychopathology and cognitive risk factors and a contributor to the mental health with the cognitive protective factors.
