The aim of the research was to determine the reclamation effectiveness of the use of EM against the background of mineral wool and wool used together with sewage sludge or mineral fertilization with nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium (NPK) on soils degraded as a result of sulfur extraction. The effectiveness of reclamation was assessed on the basis of changes in the total organic carbon (TOC) content and the properties of humic compounds. The obtained results showed that the use of effective microorganisms in relation to mineral wool and wool used in combination with sewage sludge or NPK causes significant changes in the content and quality of soil organic matter. The observed decrease in the content of TOC, humins and an increase in the share of carbon of labile fractions and free and loosely bound with silicate-free (R2O3) and calcium (Ca) humus forms indicate, that in the soils in which effective microorganisms were used, mineralization processes dominated in the transformation of soil organic matter. The humification process resulted in more durable humic compounds with a higher content of humic acids and humic acids to fulvic acids ratio (C-HA:C-FA). Supplementing commonly used materials in soil reclamation with the introduction of effective microorganisms is a promising technology. Badania prowadzono w obszarze oddziaływania kopalni siarki w Jeziórku. Celem badań była ocena zmian odczynu, pojemności sorpcyjnej i zawartości przyswajalnych form fosforu, potasu i magnezu po 6 latach od przeprowadzenia rekultywacji. W doświadczeniu (poletka o powierzchni 15 m2) przeprowadzono rekultywację zdegradowanego gruntu wapnem poflotacyjnym, oraz kompostami: z osadu ściekowego, osadu ściekowego i popiołu z elektrociepłowni. Komposty w dawce suchej masy 180 t · ha-1 (6%), ustalonej w oparciu o rozporządzenie MŚ z 2001 roku, zastosowano w wariantach: kontrola (grunt rodzimy tylko zwapnowany); kompost z komunalnego osadu ściekowego; kompost z osadu ściekowego (80%) i popiołu (20%); kompost z osadu ściekowego (70%) i popiołu (30%). Na zrekultywowanych poletkach zasiano mieszankę traw rekultywacyjnych. Jednorazowe odkwaszenie i nawożenie gruntu i dalsze 6-letnie ekstensywne (bez nawożenia) użytkowanie wywarły zróżnicowany wpływ na kształtowanie właściwości rodzimego utworu bezglebowego. Bez względu na sposób rekultywacji, po sześciu latach użytkowania gruntu, w wierzchnich warstwach, zwiększyła się średnia zawartość przyswajalnego fosforu, zawartość przyswajalnego potasu nie uległa znacznym zmianom natomiast około 10-krotnie zmniejszyła się zawartość przyswajalnego magnezu.

This paper presents an evaluation of the use of drilling tailings in reclamation and development of physical and chemical properties of degraded soils. Composites with drilling wastes and other wastes, useful for the reclamation of degraded soils and their reconstruction in devastated areas, were used in the tests. Comparative objects were anthropogenic soil fertilized with NPK and manure at a dose of 30 Mg/ha + NPK. The research shows that the tested anthropogenic soil was characterized by very poor sorption properties, and especially the composites with the participation of the tested waste improved the described properties. The composite with sewage sludge from ZA Puławy had a more favorable (by approx. 20%) effect on the sorption capacity of the reclaimed anthropogenic soil than the composite with municipal sewage sludge from Lublin. The effect of the tested composites on reducing the hydrolytic acidity of the reclaimed soil was similar, but much more favorable than that of manure. The results of the conducted research confirmed that drilling wastes have environmentally valuable properties, but due to their unbalance, they should not be used alone, but in composites with properly selected other wastes, such as manure or sewage sludge. The loristic observations presented below were carried out in 2011, on 5-acre plots delineated on an area of degraded soil. The soil-reclamation experiment, which began in June 2004, was set up on devastated soilless formation affected by the Jeziórko Sulfur Mine. In the experiment, the impact of different (200, 400, 800 m³ ha-1) doses of mineral wool and sewage sludge on characteristics of the soilless formation was analyzed. The strongly acidic soilless formation (weak loamy sand) was reclaimed using lotation sludge in a dose of 100 t ha-1 for de-acidification, and various combinations of mineral wool and sewage sludge. The sward sown on plots pretreated as above consisted of a clover reclamation mixture with the following composition: Festuca pratensis-41.2%, Festuca rubra-19.2%, Lolium perenne-14.7%, Lolium multilorum-12.4%, Dactylis glomerata-6.5%, Trifolium pratense-6%. A phytoindication method was employed to assess the impact of different reclamation methods of soilless formation on shaping the habitat conditions. This assessment took into account the following indicators: soil moisture, trophism, pH, organic matter content, resistance to salinity and to an increased content of heavy metals. The method for soilless formation reclamation was found to produce an effect on the analyzed ecological factors. The most favorable habitat conditions were recorded in soil reclaimed with mineral wool; they were worse in soil reclaimed with mineral wool and treated with NPK, but the worst parameters occurred in soil with the addition of sewage sludge and mineral wool. In the present study, were determined the basic nutrients (dry matter, crude ash, crude protein, ether extract, and energy) and mineral elements content in chosen species of raw and smoked freshwater and sea fish. The content of dry matter, and basic nutrients and Na+, K+, Ca+2, Mg+2, P+2, Zn+2, and Cu+2 in the fish samples was determined. The dietary intake of several macro- and microconstituents per one serving (150 g fresh or smoked fish) was calculated. The fresh fish contained on average 220.2 to 283.7 g·kg−1 of dry matter, 12.4 to 10.7 g·kg−1 of crude ash, 176.2 to 173.5 g·kg−1 of crude protein, 32.6 to 78.6 g·kg−1 of ether extract, and 104.6 to 119.1 kcal (freshwater and sea fish, respectively). Thermal treatment reduces the water and fat content in fish meat. Reduction of the K, Ca, Mg, P, Zn, and Cu levels was observed most frequently. The one serving of fish covers approximately 23% and 12% of the recommended dietary amount of K, 7.5–5.0% of Ca, ~12% of Mg, 6.8 to 12.5% of Zn, and about covered 6.7% of Cu. The smoking process increased the concentration of some basic nutrients and reduced the fat and mineral content. Whitefish, trout, halibut, mackerel, and herring had the highest levels of the analyzed minerals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
