Whole Foods Market has announced plans to remove Amazon's Just Walk Out checkout system from its two stores that currently offer the technology. Instead, the grocery chain will install more self-checkout stations and traditional registers at these locations. The decision is aimed at providing a more consistent shopping experience across Whole Foods Market locations. However, Whole Foods will continue to use Amazon One palm recognition payment service and offer Amazon's smart carts, known as Dash Carts, at select stores. Despite Amazon's retreat from Just Walk Out systems, frictionless checkout technology is still growing in other retail spaces. [Extracted from the article]
