We present a scalable mixed-species Coulomb crystal clock based on the $^1S_0$ $\leftrightarrow$ $^3P_0$ transition in $^{115}$In$^+$. $^{172}$Yb$^+$ ions are co-trapped and used for sympathetic cooling. Reproducible interrogation conditions for mixed-species Coulomb crystals are ensured by a conditional preparation sequence with permutation control. We demonstrate clock operation with a 1In$^+$-3Yb$^+$ crystal, achieving a relative systematic uncertainty of $2.5\times10^{-18}$ and a relative frequency instability of $1.6\times10^{-15}/\sqrt{\tau/1\;s}$. We report on an absolute frequency measurement with an uncertainty of $1.3\times10^{-16}$ and optical frequency ratios relative to the $^{171}$Yb$^+$ (E3) and $^{87}$Sr clock transitions with fractional uncertainties of $4.4$ and $4.7$ parts in 10$^{18}$, respectively. The latter are among the most precise measurements of frequency ratios to date and improve upon the previous uncertainty of the $^{115}$In$^+$/$^{87}$Sr ratio by two orders of magnitude. We also demonstrate operation with four $^{115}$In$^+$ clock ions, which reduces the instability to $9.2\times10^{-16}/\sqrt{\tau/1\;s}$., Comment: 13 pages, 8 figures

Condensed Matter - Superconductivity - Abstract
Platinum-group transition-metal dichalcogenides have emerged as a subject of considerable interest in condensed matter physics due to their remarkable topological properties and unconventional superconducting behavior. In this study, we report the synthesis and superconducting characteristics of a new Dirac-type topological semimetallic compound 1$T$-RhSeTe. It shows type-II superconductivity with a superconducting transition temperature of 4.72 K and a high upper critical field. The coexistence of superconductivity and topological properties makes it a prime candidate for hosting topological superconductivity., Comment: 8 oages, 7 figures

- Abstract
Einsteins general theory of relativity from 19151 remains the most successful description of gravitation. From the 1919 solar eclipse2 to the observation of gravitational waves3, the theory has passed many crucial experimental tests. However, the evolving concepts of dark matter and dark energy illustrate that there is much to be learned about the gravitating content of the universe. Singularities in the general theory of relativity and the lack of a quantum theory of gravity suggest that our picture is incomplete. It is thus prudent to explore gravity in exotic physical systems. Antimatter was unknown to Einstein in 1915. Diracs theory4 appeared in 1928; the positron was observed5 in 1932. There has since been much speculation about gravity and antimatter. The theoretical consensus is that any laboratory mass must be attracted6 by the Earth, although some authors have considered the cosmological consequences if antimatter should be repelled by matter7-10. In the general theory of relativity, the weak equivalence principle (WEP) requires that all masses react identically to gravity, independent of their internal structure. Here we show that antihydrogen atoms, released from magnetic confinement in the ALPHA-g apparatus, behave in a way consistent with gravitational attraction to the Earth. Repulsive antigravity is ruled out in this case. This experiment paves the way for precision studies of the magnitude of the gravitational acceleration between anti-atoms and the Earth to test the WEP.

We investigate the glassy-state properties of Mg2Ca, Al2Ca, and Al4Ca from the grafting application viewpoint. We employed classical molecular dynamics to examine the phase transition, structural, thermodynamic, transport, and mechanical properties in the amorphous state. All properties suggest successful simulations of the glass phase at and below the glass transition temperature, ranging between 550 and 689 K for Mg2Ca, Al2Ca, and Al4Ca. Computed results are compared and discussed with the reported findings and known mechanical and thermal properties of the various parts of the human bones and biocomposites. The comparison establishes that the mechanical, thermal, and transport properties significantly improve in the glass phase compared to its crystalline alloy form. At 300 K, studied glasses have densities in close agreement with human bone density. Structural analysis and heat capacity show the second-order phase transition, verifying the formation of the glass structure. The targeted glasses exhibit excellent thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity compared to other commonly used biocomposites for bone grafting. Furthermore, the simulated elastic properties, viz., the Poisson ratio, G/B ratio, Cauchy's pressure, and yield strength, are in close agreement with the mechanical properties of various parts of human bone. The predicted ductility nature, contrary to the brittle character of Mg2Ca, Al2Ca, and Al4Ca crystalline alloys, proves the superiority of the glassy form for the implant's functioning. The minimum enthalpy of formation and thermodynamic stability of studied compounds benefit the synthesis process; hence, we propose that the studied glasses are persuasive materials for experimental synthesis aimed at bone grating applications. MACE (Major Atmospheric Cherenkov Experiment), an imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescope, has recently been installed by the HiGRO (Himalayan Gamma-Ray Observatory) collaboration at Hanle (32.8$^\circ$N, 78.9$^\circ$E, 4270m asl) in Ladakh region of North India. The telescope has a 21m diameter large light collector consisting of indigenously developed 1424 square-shaped diamond turned spherical aluminum mirror facets of size $\sim$ 0.5m$\times$0.5m. MACE is the second largest Cherenkov telescope at the highest altitude in the northern hemisphere. The imaging camera of the telescope consists of 1088 photo-multiplier tubes with a uniform pixel resolution of $\sim 0.125^\circ$ covering a field of view of $\sim$ 4.0$^\circ$ $\times$ 4.0$^\circ$. The main objective of the MACE telescope is to study gamma-ray sources mainly in the unexplored energy region 20 -100 GeV and beyond with high sensitivity. In this paper, we describe the key design features and current status of MACE including results from the trial observations of the telescope., Comment: 8 Pages, 5 Figures, Proceedings of Science: ICRC2021

BACKGROUND: Evidence about the impact of marital status before hematopoietic cell transplantation (hct) on outcomes after hct is conflicting. METHODS: We identified patients 40 years of age and older within the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research registry who underwent hct between January 2008 and December 2015. Marital status before hct was declared as one of: married or living with a partner, single (never married), separated or divorced, and widowed. We performed a multivariable analysis to determine the association of marital status with outcomes after hct. RESULTS: We identified 10,226 allogeneic and 5714 autologous hct cases with, respectively, a median follow-up of 37 months (range: 1-102 months) and 40 months (range: 1-106 months). No association between marital status and overall survival was observed in either the allogeneic (p = 0.58) or autologous (p = 0.17) setting. However, marital status was associated with grades 2-4 acute graft-versus-host disease (gvhd), p < 0.001, and chronic gvhd, p = 0.04. The risk of grades 2-4 acute gvhd was increased in separated compared with married patients [hazard ratio (hr): 1.13; 95% confidence interval (ci): 1.03 to 1.24], and single patients had a reduced risk of grades 2-4 acute gvhd (hr: 0.87; 95% ci: 0.77 to 0.98). The risk of chronic gvhd was lower in widowed compared with married patients (hr: 0.82; 95% ci: 0.67 to 0.99). CONCLUSIONS: Overall survival after hct is not influenced by marital status, but associations were evident between marital status and grades 2-4 acute and chronic gvhd. To better appreciate the effects of marital status and social support, future research should consider using validated scales to measure social support and patient and caregiver reports of caregiver commitment, and to assess health-related quality of life together with health care utilization.

Astrophysics - High Energy Astrophysical Phenomena - Abstract
Extremely High Synchrotron Peak (EHSP) blazars are observed to form a small population of sources with high energy hump peaking at TeV energies in their broad-band spectral energy distributions. The observed gamma-ray emission from these sources at GeV-TeV energies is described by unusual hard spectral indices. The observed spectral and temporal characteristics of these sources challenge the standard leptonic models for the broad-band emissions from blazars. Therefore, such sources provide astrophysical sites to investigate directly the particle acceleration, cooling of relativistic particles and indirectly probe the cosmological quantities like extragalactic background light (EBL) and intergalactic magnetic field (IMF) in the Universe. In this study, we investigate the spectral properties of the gamma-ray emission from EHSP blazars using observations from the Fermi-LAT catalogues (3FGL and 3FHL) along with the TeV observations using ground based telescopes. The observed TeV gamma-ray spectra are corrected for the EBL absorption using the most recent and updated EBL models to determine the intrinsic spectrum at the source. The intrinsic TeV spectra are combined with the MeV-GeV observations from the Fermi-LAT to study the gamma-ray emission from EHSP blazars in the broad energy band. The intrinsic gamma-ray spectra are then used to estimate the position of high energy peak in the spectral energy distribution. We also present the qualitative description for the observed spectral properties of EHSP blazars using different physical scenarios and discuss their importance for the upcoming CTA observatory., Comment: 36th International Cosmic Ray Conference Madison, WI, U.S.A.: Proceedings of Science, PoS (ICRC2019) 603

Broad implementation globally will lead to societal gains and foster health equity. Several vector products each for factor IX (FIX) or factor VIII (FVIII) deficiency are in advanced clinical development. Safety data are reassuring. Efficacy data for up to 8 and 5 years, respectively, vary considerably among vector types and among individuals, but indicate significant reduction in bleeds and factor use. Products will soon be approved for marketing. This review highlights the relevant considerations for implementation of hemophilia gene therapy, specifically across a broad range of socioeconomic backgrounds globally, based on recent publications and our own experience. We address the current efficacy and safety data and relevant aspects of vector immunology. We then discuss pertinent implementation steps including pre-implementation and readiness assessments, considerations on cost, cost-effectiveness and payment models, approaches to education and informed consent, and the operational needs as well as the need for monitoring of health outcomes and implementation outcomes. To prevent a lag or complete lack of establishing access to this life-changing therapy option for all patients with hemophilia worldwide, adaptable pathways supported by collaborative and international efforts of all stakeholders are needed. Keywords: global health, health equity, cost-effectiveness, adeno-associated virus vector, factor VIII, factor IX

Astrophysics - High Energy Astrophysical Phenomena - Abstract
In this work, we study the short term flaring activity from the high synchrotron peaked blazar Mrk 501 detected by the FACT and H.E.S.S. telescopes in the energy range 2-20 TeV during June 23-24, 2014 (MJD 56831.86-56831.94). We revisit this major TeV flare of the source in the context of near simultaneous multi-wavelength observations of gamma-rays in MeV-GeV regime with Fermi-LAT, soft X-rays in 0.3-10 keV range with Swift-XRT, hard X-rays in 10-20 keV and 15-50 keV bands with MAXI and Swift-BAT respectively, UV-Optical with Swift-UVOT and 15 GHz radio with OVRO telescope. We have performed a detailed temporal and spectral analysis of the data from Fermi-LAT, Swift-XRT and Swift-UVOT during the period June 15-30, 2014 (MJD 56823-56838). Near simultaneous archival data available from Swift-BAT, MAXI and OVRO telescope along with the V-band optical polarization measurements from SPOL observatory are also used in the study of giant TeV flare of Mrk 501 detected by the FACT and H.E.S.S. telescopes. No significant change in the multi-wavelength emission from radio to high energy gamma-rays during the TeV flaring activity ofMrk 501 is observed except variation in soft X-rays. The varying soft X-ray emission is found to be correlated with the gamma-ray emission at TeV energies during the flaring activity of the source. The soft X-ray photon spectral index is observed to be anti-correlated with the integral flux showing harder-when-brighter behavior. An average value of 4.5% for V-band optical polarization is obtained during the above period whereas the corresponding electric vector position angle changes significantly. We have used the minimum variability timescale from the H.E.S.S. observations to estimate the Doppler factor of the emission region which is found to be consistent with the previous studies of the source., Comment: 28 Pages, 3 Figures, Accepted for Publication in Advances in Space Research

Astrophysics - High Energy Astrophysical Phenomena - Abstract
Strong X-ray and $\gamma$--ray flares have been detected in February 2010 from the high synchrotron peaked blazar Mrk 421 (z=0.031). With the motivation of understanding the physics involved in this flaring activity, we study the variability of the source in X-ray and $\gamma$--ray energy bands during the period February 10-23, 2010 (MJD 55237-55250). We use near simultaneous X-ray data collected by \emph{MAXI}, \emph{Swift}-XRT and $\gamma$--ray data collected by \emph{Fermi}-LAT and \emph{TACTIC} along with the optical V-band observations by \emph{SPOL} at Steward Observatory. We observe that the variation in the one day averaged flux from the source during the flare is characterized by fast rise and slow decay. Besides, the TeV $\gamma$--ray flux shows a strong correlation with the X-ray flux, suggesting the former to be an outcome of synchrotron self Compton emission process. To model the observed X-ray and $\gamma$--ray light curves, we numerically solve the kinetic equation describing the evolution of particle distribution in the emission region. The injection of particle distribution into the emission region, from the putative acceleration region, is assumed to be a time dependent power law. The synchrotron and synchrotron self Compton emission from the evolving particle distribution in the emission region are used to reproduce the X-ray and $\gamma$--ray flares successfully. Our study suggests that the flaring activity of Mrk 421 can be an outcome of an efficient acceleration process associated with the increase in underlying non-thermal particle distribution., Comment: Accepted for publication in New Astronomy

This article, titled "Hold Your Breath for Breast Bone Imaging: A Pictorial Essay of Sternoclavicular Joint and Sternum Disorders," explores the various pathologies that can affect the sternoclavicular joint and sternum. The authors conducted a retrospective review of radiology imaging studies to identify and differentiate between different conditions. They found that CT and MRI were effective in delineating abnormalities, and emphasized the importance of a multidisciplinary team approach in accurately diagnosing and treating these conditions. The article provides a comprehensive understanding of the imaging appearances of these structures and highlights the need for combining imaging modalities with clinical information for accurate diagnosis. Astrophysics - High Energy Astrophysical Phenomena - Abstract
We present results from multi-wavelength study of intense flaring activity from a high frequency peaked BL Lac object Mrk 421. The source was observed in its flaring state on February 16, 2010 with the $TACTIC$ at energies above 1.5 TeV. Near simultaneous multi-wavelength data were obtained from high energy (MeV-GeV) $\gamma$--ray observations with \emph{Fermi}--LAT, X--ray observations by the \emph{Swift} and \emph{MAXI} satellites, optical V-band observation by SPOL at \emph{Steward Observatory} and radio 15 GHz observation at OVRO 40 meter-telescope. We have performed a detailed spectral and temporal analysis of $TACTIC$, \emph{Fermi}--LAT and \emph{Swift}--XRT observations of Mrk 421 during February 10--23, 2010 (MJD 55237-55250). The flaring activity of the source is studied by investigating the properties of daily light curves from radio to $TeV$ energy range and we present the correlation and variability analysis in each energy band. The $TeV$ flare detected by $TACTIC$ on February 16, 2010 is well correlated with the activity in lower energy bands. The differential energy spectrum of the source, in the energy range 1.5-11 TeV, as measured by $TACTIC$ on this night is described by a power law ($dN/dE \propto E^{-\Gamma}$) with spectral index $\Gamma = 2.6\pm0.3$. After accounting for absorption of $TeV$ photons by low energy extragalactic background light photons via pair production, the intrinsic $TeV$ spectrum reveals a power law index of $2.3\pm0.3$. Finally the broad band spectral energy distribution of the source in flaring state is reproduced using a simple emission model involving synchrotron and synchrotron self Compton processes. The obtained parameters are then used to understand the energetics of the source during the flaring episode., Comment: Accepted for Publication in Astroparticle Physics

Astrophysics - High Energy Astrophysical Phenomena ,Astrophysics - Cosmology and Nongalactic Astrophysics - Abstract
Very high energy (VHE) $\gamma$-rays above 10$'$s of GeV energy, emitted from distant blazars, are attenuated by photons from the extragalactic background light (EBL). Unfortunately, neither the EBL nor the intrinsic blazar spectrum is accurately known to derive one quantity from the other. In this work we use a homogeneous one zone model involving synchrotron, synchrotron self Compton (SSC) and external Compton (EC) emission mechanisms to estimate the intrinsic VHE spectra of blazars. The model is applied on three VHE blazars, namely PKS2155-304, RGB J0710+591 and 3C279, for which simultaneous multi-wavelength data are available from various observations. The predicted values of the intrinsic VHE fluxes are then compared with the observations by imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes to determine the optical depth of VHE $\gamma$-rays. On comparing these optical depth values with those predicted by four different EBL models, we observe a somewhat pronounced systematic deviation for PKS2155-304 and 3C279 at higher energies, especially for the EBL model proposed by Finke et al.(2010). We attribute this deviation to be an outcome of either the failure of the extrapolation of blazar SED to VHE energies and/or due to various assumptions buried in the EBL models., Comment: 7 Figures

We have observed the blazar Markarian 421 with the TACTIC $\gamma$-ray telescope at Mt. Abu, India, from 22 November 2009 to 16 May 2010 for 265 hours. Detailed analysis of the data so recorded revealed presence of a TeV $\gamma$-ray signal with a statistical significance of 12.12$\sigma$ at $E_{\gamma}\geq$ 1 TeV. We have estimated the time averaged differential energy spectrum of the source in the energy range 1.0 - 16.44 TeV. The spectrum fits well with the power law function of the form ($dF/dE=f_0 E^{-\Gamma}$) with $f_0=(1.39\pm0.239)\times 10^{-11}cm^{-2}s^{-1}TeV^{-1}$ and $\Gamma=2.31\pm0.14$., Comment: 15 pages, 7 figures: Accepted for publication in J. The BL Lac object H1426+428 ($z\equiv 0.129$) is an established source of TeV $\gamma$-rays and detections of these photons from this object also have important implications for estimating the Extragalactic Background Light (EBL) in addition to the understanding of the particle acceleration and $\gamma$-ray production mechanisms in the AGN jets. We have observed this source for about 244h in 2004, 2006 and 2007 with the TACTIC $\gamma$-ray telescope located at Mt. Abu, India. Detailed analysis of these data do not indicate the presence of any statistically significant TeV $\gamma$-ray signal from the source direction. Accordingly, we have placed an upper limit of $\leq1.18\times10^{-12}$ $photons$ $cm^{-2}$ $s^{-1}$ on the integrated $\gamma$-ray flux at 3$\sigma$ significance level., Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures accepted for publication in Journal of Physics G: Nuclear and Particle Physics

Astrophysics - Abstract
In this paper we report on the Markarian 501 results obtained during our TeV $\gamma$-ray observations from March 11 to May 12, 2005 and February 28 to May 7, 2006 for 112.5 hours with the TACTIC $\gamma$-ray telescope. During 2005 observations for 45.7 hours, the source was found to be in a low state and we have placed an upper limit of 4.62 $\times$ 10$^{-12}$ photons cm$^{-2}$ s$^{-1}$ at 3$\sigma$ level on the integrated TeV $\gamma$-ray flux above 1 TeV from the source direction. However, during the 2006 observations for 66.8h, detailed data analysis revealed the presence of a TeV $\gamma$-ray signal from the source with a statistical significance of 7.5$\sigma$ above $E_{\gamma}\geq$ 1 TeV. The time averaged differential energy spectrum of the source in the energy range 1-11 TeV is found to match well with the power law function of the form ($d\Phi/dE=f_0 E^{-\Gamma}$) with $f_0=(1.66\pm0.52)\times 10^{-11}cm^{-2}s^{-1}TeV^{-1}$ and $\Gamma=2.80\pm0.27$., Comment: 16 pages and 8 Figures Accepted for publication in the Journal of Physics G
