Z vključitvenimi in izključitvenimi kriteriji smo pregledali podatkovno bazo Cobiss, Metaisklnik in CHINAL. Prioritetni negovalni problemi pri slepi osebi so nezmožnost samostojnega gibanja v prostoru, priprave hrane, povečana možnost poškodb zaradi zmanjšane sposobnosti izogibanja nevarnostim v okolju, nezmožnost vključevanja v določene aktivnosti in pomanjkanje znanja o bolezenskem stanju. Zaključek: Slepe in slabovidne osebe se soočajo z različnimi težavami in ovirami. Družina ima v življenju teh oseb pomembno vlogo. Patronažna medicinska sestra izvaja predvsem zdravstveno-vzgojno delo, promocijo zdravja in preventivo nastanka bolezni. Theoretical background: Sight is one of the five senses and is specified in four levels of visual function: normal vision, moderate visual impairment, severe visual impairment and blindness. There is a variety of visual impairments e.g. refractive errors, age-related retina degeneration, cataract, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, etc. Family plays a crucial role in adaptation of the individual, as does the experience of the home health care nurse. Research methodology: In the thesis we used a descriptive method of work. We searched through databases Cobiss, Metaiskalnik and CHINAL using the inclusion and exclusion criteria. We also used a quantitative method of work. The instrument for data collection was a structured interview. Results: According to our research, the blind and visually impaired individuals are facing a variety of problems. Primary problems when caring for blind individuals are inability of independent movement, food preparation, increased risk of injury due to reduced ability to avoid surrounding danger and inability to participate in certain activities. Conclusion: Blind and visually impaired individuals face various difficulties and obstacles due to their condition. Family has an important role as it aids and supports the individual. The home health care nurse primarily offers health-care work, health promotion and disease prevention.
