The student’s scientific literacy is vital in improving students’ awareness of several issues. This study was intended to describe the effect of the SETS learning approach combined with Vee Diagram on students’ scientific literacy especially on Environmental Pollution Material. This study used a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The survey involved 60 students who were selected using cluster random sampling technique. The quantitative data, in terms of pretest, posttest, and N-gain scores were analyzed using Independent-sample t-test at the 5% significance level. The results showed that, based in the N-gain scores, the experiment class was classified in moderate category and the control class belonged to low category. This means that the SETS learning approach combined with Vee Diagram influence student’s scientific literacy on Environmental Pollution Material. Therefore, this combination is recommended to be implemented in class to enhance students' scientific literacy skills.

One of the factors of the low scientific literacy of students is influenced by the learning model used during the learning process. This study aims to determine the effect of the problem based learning (PBL) model using vee diagrams on environmental pollution material on students' scientific literacy skills. The sample consisted of 68 students, consisting of class VII 1 and VII 3 who were selected by purposive sampling technique. The research data were obtained from test questions and response questionnaires, the data were analyzed using the independent sample t-test. The results showed the average N-gain of science literacy abilities of students in the experimental class (0.48 ± 0.16) with "moderate" criteria and the control class (0.23 ± 0.13) with "low" criteria. This shows that learning using the PBL model using vee diagrams has a better effect on increasing students' scientific literacy skills. The results of the questionnaire response analysis had an average percentage was 88.8%.Keywords: Science literacy, problem based learning, vee diagram

This study aims to determine the effect of use of wet preservation Phylum of Molluscs and Echinoderms with Inquiry Learning on student learning outcomes. The method of this study was quasi-experimental with nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The research samples were students of class X MIPA 1 and X MIPA 2 which were to 56 students that were selected by the Total Sampling technique. The type of data used were quantitative data and qualitative data. The instrument used in this study was in the form of multiple-choice questions, with the independent sample t-test SPSS 17.0 data processing technique. The results showed that the use of wet preservation Phylum of Molluscs and Echinoderms differed significantly on student learning outcomes in the experimental class with the control class. The average N-gain in the experimental class was 0.58, while the control class was 0.39, while the results of student responses to wet preservation Phylum of Molluscs and Echinoderms with Inquiry Learning have a good (78,57%) and very good (84,78%).

This study aimed to determine the different self-efficacy between males and females students and the correlation between self-efficacy based on gender with sciences learning outcomes. This study used descriptive correlational design. The sample s we re VIII grade students at SMP in Labuhan Ratu Region amounted of 279 students who were selected trough purposive sampling technique. Data of students self-efficacy were obtained from self-efficacy scale and data of sciences learning outcomes were obtained from test. The result data were analyzed using independent sample t-test and Pearson Product Moment. The result of t-test show ed that the difference on self-efficacy between males and females students were not significant. The result of correlation test show ed that there was positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy based on gender with sciences learning outcomes. Coefficient correlation indicated weak relationship between self-efficacy and sciences learning outcomes. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan perbedaan self-efficacy antara siswa laki-laki dengan perempuan serta hubungan antara self-efficacy berdasarkan gender dengan hasil belajar IPA. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif korelasional. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP di Kecamatan Labuhan Ratu yang berjumlah 279 dan dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling . Data self-efficacy siswa diperoleh melalui skala self-efficacy dan data hasil belajar IPA diperoleh melalui tes. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji-t sampel independen dan uji Pearson Product Moment . Hasil uji-t menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang tidak signifikan antara self-efficacy yang dimiliki siswa laki-laki dengan perempuan. Hasil uji korelasi menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara self-efficacy berdasarkan gender dengan hasil belajar IPA. Adapun nilai koefisien yang dihasilkan pada uji korelasi mengindikasikan hubungan yang rendah antara self-efficacy berdasarkan gender dengan hasil belajar IPA. Guru sebagai tenaga pengajar dan pendidik dituntut untuk mampu merencanakan, melaksanakan, melakukan evaluasi, dan harus terampil dalam membuat dan memanfaatkan media pembelajaran. Salah satu kegiatan pembelajaran adalah Remedial teaching. Remedial teaching merupakan kegiatan pembelajaran bagi siswa yang belum memenuhi Kriteria Ketuntusan Minimal (KKM). Siswa yang belum tuntas umumnya pada materi yang berbeda-beda antara siswa satu dan yang lainnya. Hal ini menjadi kendala bagi guru dalam pelaksanakan kegiatan remedial teaching. Untuk itu guru harus memanfaatkan media pembelajaran. Guru-guru BIOLOGI SMA di Kabupaten Tulang Bawang Barat baik guru SMA Negeri maupun swasta selama ini belum terampil dalammembuat media pembelajaran serta memanfaatkannya khsusnya dalam remedial teaching. Oleh karena itu perlu adanya pelatihan terhadap guru-guru dengan tujuan meningkatkan keterampilan dan pemahaman guru-guru Biologi SMA di Kabupaten Tulang Bawang Baratdalam membuat media pembelajaran dan memahami strategi memanfaatkan media dalam remedial teaching. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah ceramah,demonstrasi,dan praktikmembuat media video tutorial, dan evaluasi. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan yang dilakukan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan kemampuan guru-guru dalam membuat media video tutorial dan implementasinya dalam pembelajaran remedial teaching. Semua guru mampu membuat dan menyelesaikan produk berupa media video tutorial dengan baik. Kata kunci:Media, Remedial Teaching, Video Tutorial

This study aims to produce a practical guidebook of human circulatory system with Argument-Driven Inquiry (ADI) model for students at junior high schools. The design of this research was R&D with 4-D model including define, design, develop, and disseminate. However, this research was only up to the develop step. The result of this study is in form of a practical guidebook of human circulatory system and using language that is easily understood and in accordance with EYD. Then, the practical worksheet consists of student identities, title of practices, basic theories, objectives, research questions, tools, materials, work steps, argumentation schemes, argumentation sessions, and reports. Next, the results of validation of experts and practitioners as well as the results of the readability test of the students obtain "Excellent" category. Moreover, the results of the implemented tests of all practices obtain "Almost All Activities Implemented" category. As a result, the practical guidebook of the human circulatory system with ADI model is valid and practical.

Low reading interest in high school students and the use of information and communication technology (ICT) are still not well integrated into learning. This is due to the lack of interesting biology textbooks and students’ habits in using gadgets for entertainment such as social media and games. For this reason, a solution to these problems is the development of pop-up books and virtual reality (VR) videos. This research uses the Research and Development method adapted from Borg and Gall by involving media and content experts for feasibility testing. The pop-up book and VR video evaluation were then carried out, the results showed feasibility without revision of 67% and some product revision suggestions. The results also showed the product responses to habits of mind (HoM) which included in the excellent category (3.7) from 100 students and 30 teachers even though preliminary test with a sample of high school graduates was still in the good category (3.2). Also, aspects of creative thinking are best between self-regulation and critical thinking. So, the implications of this research are pop-up book and VR videos are suitable as learning media also very good for improving students’ ha bits of mind.
