Background: The Health-Promoting School (HPS) framework offers a comprehensive approach to promoting health in schools. Aragon’s HPS network is a local organisation which has identified the need for closer cooperation between the education and health sectors as the main challenge facing its programme. Objectives: Previous studies from countries implementing HPS approaches have identified various outcomes and challenges. However, there is insufficient evidence to identify potential barriers to HPS implementation in Spain. This study therefore set out to explore these issues within the context of the HPS network in Aragon. Method: Three focus groups were held in different cities (Zaragoza, Huesca and Teruel) between April and May 2020. The total sample comprised 18 adults ( M = 45.21; SD = 12.61), 60% of whom were men. Eleven participants were HPS stakeholders (i.e. teachers, HPS coordinators) and seven were external collaborators (e.g. university professors, researchers). Results: The main barriers identified were the excessive workload for professionals involved in the network, limitations imposed by contextual factors such as lack of teacher and family involvement, and lack of supervision and communication within the HPS network. Strengthening collaboration with work in other settings, the provision of continuing education for teaching staff and more systematic evaluation were identified as potential ways forward. Conclusion: Using the principles identified in this paper, Aragon’s HPS network should be further developed to enhance effective implementation and improve sustainability.

Este artículo evalúa los efectos en la creatividad de un proyecto interdisciplinar de creación grupal denominado “La voz del rehén”, basado en los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible. La muestra estuvo formada por 53 estudiantes –32 hombres y 21 mujeres– con una media de edad de 21,82±3,49 años del Grado en Magisterio de Educación Primaria de la Universidad de Zaragoza –España–. Se trata de una investigación pre-experimental sin grupo control con medidas antes y después del proyecto. El instrumento de evaluación de la creatividad fue la Prueba de Imaginación Creativa para Adultos –PIC-A–. Se realizó una prueba t de Student y una ANOVA para observar si existían diferencias significativas entre el pre y post. Se utilizó el software SPSS de IBM versión 26. Los resultados mostraron que: i) los participantes han obtenido mejoras significativas en la puntuación total; ii) se han obtenido mejoras significativas en la fantasía y en la creatividad narrativa –fluidez, flexibilidad y originalidad–; iii) no se han obtenido mejoras significativas en la creatividad gráfica. Este estudio confirma la importancia de la incorporación en el sistema universitario de programas interdisciplinares de creatividad y los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible como enfoque de aprendizaje. Abstract. This article assesses the effects on creativity of an interdisciplinary creative acrosport programme, called “La voz del rehén”, which is based on the sustainable development goals. The simple comprised 53 individuals -32 men and 21 women- with an average age of 21,82±3,49, all of whom were studying a Primary Education Teacher Training Degree at Zaragoza University (Spain). It was a pre-experimental study, with no control group, with measures before and after the programme. The creative assessment instrument was the Prueba de Imaginación Creativa para Adultos –PIC-A– [Creative Imagination Test for Adults]. A Student’s t-test and ANOVA test were performed to discover significan differences in pre- and post- programme. Version 26 of the IBM SPSS program was used. Results showed that: i) participants obteined significant improvements in total score; ii) participants obteined significant improvements in fantasy and narrative creativity –fluency, flexibility and originality–; iii) participants did not obtein- significant improvements in graphic creativity. These studies confirm the importance of incorporating interdisciplinary creativity programmes into the university system and Sustainable Development Goals –SDG– as a learning aproach.

This study was established as an interpretive or phenomenological approach, based on a content analysis of the vision of future primary education teachers for education for sustainable development and its relationship with professional sustainability competencies. The sample consisted of 367 people—113 men, 247 women, and 7 who preferred not to say—with an average age of 21.82 ± 2.56, all of whom were studying for a Primary Education teaching degree at the Universities of Zaragoza and Granada in Spain. The content analysis process followed the phases proposed by Bardin: pre-analysis, based on an adaptation of the Cebrián and Junyent questionnaire; exploitation of the material, wherein the fragments to be coded were selected and coded one by one, by consensus between the three researchers; data processing and interpretation, using the QRS NVIVO 11 software. The main results show that respect, coexistence, and collaboration are the normative principles that regulate behavior and that the competencies related to education for sustainability have to do with managing emotions, critical thinking, clarifying values, and contextualizing problems. Furthermore, there is a lack of pragmatism that shows the need to develop the field of education for sustainable development through experiential, interdisciplinary, collaborative, and critical educational plans and projects.

Este artículo identifica los factores de la interacción social que facilitan y dificultan el proceso de creación grupal en un proyecto interdisciplinar de acrosport denominado “La voz del rehén”. La muestra estuvo formada por 65 alumnos/as –36 hombres y 29 mujeres– con 21.42±1.69 de media de edad de la mención de educación física del Grado de Magisterio de Educación Primaria de la Facultad de Educación de la Universidad de Zaragoza –España–. Cada grupo de creación diseñó y mostró una propuesta de acrosport, la cual fue elaborada durante el transcurso de tres asignaturas de la mención de educación física –actividades físicas de oposición-colaboración; actividades físicas individuales; y actividades físicas artístico-expresivas–. La recogida de datos fue a través de unos informes grupales que fueron cumplimentados sobre la interacción social desencadenada en el proceso de creación grupal. Posteriormente se realizó el análisis de contenido de dichos informes grupales. Para el tratamiento de los datos se utilizó el NVIVO 11. Los resultados mostraron que: a) el funcionamiento asambleario es el principal mecanismo utilizado para el consenso colectivo; b) la pertenencia y el compromiso grupal favorecen los procesos de creación. Abstract. This article outlines the factors of social interaction that facilitate and hamper the process of group creation in an interdisciplinary acrosport project based on sustainable development goals called “The hostage voice”. The sample consisted of 65 students –36 men and 29 women– with an average age of 21.42±1.69 from the physical education module of the of Primary Education Bachelor at the Faculty of Education of the University of Zaragoza -Spain-. Each creation group designed and showed an acrosport proposal based on the sustainable development goals, which was elaborated during the course of three subjects of the mentioned module -physical activities of opposition-collaboration; individual physical activities; and artistic-expressive physical activities-. Data regarding the social interaction triggered by the group creation process was collected through reports filled out by each group. Later, the content analysis of these reports was carried out. For the analysis of the data, the software NVIVO 11 was used. The results showed that: a) the assembly discussion is the main mechanism used for collective consensus, b) the group commitment favours the processes of creation.

Background The active commuting to school behaviour is an opportunity to increase the physical activity levels. The most frequent used tool to assess the mode of commuting to school is self-reporting by children or by their parents. However, there is a lack of information about the validity between both, children and parents. So, the purpose is to validate the questions of mode of commuting to go and come back from school of children according to their parents'. Method A total of 611 parents (mean age: 43.28±6.25 years old) and their children (mean age: 11.44±2.77 years old) from Granada (Spain) completed a family (mode of commuting of children reported by parents as part of the Family PACO questionnaire) and a student questionnaire validated (Chillon et al., 2017) (mode and frequency of commuting to and from school questionnaire), respectively, in two measurement points. The questions from the ‘Family PACO questionnaire' are: “How does your child usually go to school?” and “How does your child usually come back?”; and the questions from the ‘mode and frequency of commuting to and from school questionnaire' are: “How do you usually go to school?” and “How do you usually go from school?”. The validation between parents and childreńs questions was analysed using Kappa and Spearman correlation coefficients. The results of the kappa are considered as: poor agreement (0-0.20), acceptable agreement (0.21-0.40), moderate agreement (0.41-0.60), substantial agreement / good (0.61-0.80) and almost perfect / very good agreement (0.81-1.00) (Landis & Koch, 1977). The Spearman correlations coefficients were interpreted as low (> 0.30), moderate (0.30-0.50), and high (> 0.50) (Van Dyck, Cardon, Deforche, & De Bourdeaudhuij, 2015). Results The validity of questions from both questionnaires about mode of commuting presented high coefficients of validation (Kappa coefficient; 0.865 to school and 0.839 from school and Spearman correlation; rho=0.882 to school and rho=0.860 from school). Conclusion The questions about the mode of commuting to/from school from the ‘Family PACO questionnaire’ are valid method. Therefore, the use of the questions would be recommended to assess children's mode of commuting.

In this chapter, the authors describe the characteristics of an interdisciplinary programme based on the SDGs called “La Voz del Rehén” [The Voice of the Hostage]. This programme aims to develop the transversal competence of creativity in teacher training at the Faculty of Education of the University of Zaragoza (Spain). It is a consequence of the imminent collective transformation that must modify the university education system, which cannot be oblivious to the education for sustainability and change agendas foreseen worldwide. Therefore, this type of innovative methodological initiative aims to stimulate learning processes from collective involvement, which moves the apogee of the ego to second place, promoting a relational and extended existence.

Este trabajo presenta una evaluación sobre el modo en el que se están desarrollando y evaluando las competencias transversales en el Grado de Magisterio en Educación Primaria de la Facultad de Educación de la Universidad de Zaragoza. El análisis ofrece una perspectiva cualitativa, profundizando en las opiniones de 26 miembros de diferentes grupos de la comunidad educativa –estudiantes, profesores, y maestros en activo y jubilados–. La recogida de datos se efectuó mediante grupos de discusión, posteriormente analizados mediante el programa Nvivo11. Los principales resultados muestran la necesidad de poner en marcha un modelo por competencias en la Facultad de Educación, para poder evaluarlo y conocer el impacto que tiene en el modelo formativo del estudiante. Una constante reflexión crítica por parte del profesorado sobre su práctica docente y considerar la evaluación como un instrumento para conocer y descubrir el aprendizaje, son otras dos necesidades que se plantean en este trabajo, además de caminar hacia una cultura de colaboración y de una mayor formación del profesorado, donde las competencias adquieran la importancia y prioridad que merecen. La inteligencia emocional y aprender a aprender aparecen como propuestas más relevantes.

The purposes of this study were: (a) to describe the patterns of modes of commuting to school (children) and to work (parents) separated by gender and age, (b) to validate the questions on children&rsquo, s mode of commuting to and from school according to their parents, and (c) to analyse the reliability of a family questionnaire focused on commuting to school behaviours. A total of 611 parents (mean age: 43.28 &plusmn, 6.25 years old) from Granada (Spain) completed &ldquo, Family commuting-to-school behaviour&rdquo, questionnaire in two sessions separated by 14 days, (2016 and 2018). The validation between family and children&rsquo, s questions was assessed using the Kappa and Spearman correlation coefficients, and the test&ndash, retest reliability within the family questions was assessed using the Kappa and the weighted Kappa. The children&rsquo, s modes of commuting to school (mean age: 11.44 &plusmn, 2.77 years old) were mainly passive (57.7% to school) while parents&rsquo, modes of commuting to work were mainly active (71.6%). The validity of the mode of commuting was significant with high Kappa and Spearman coefficients. The test&ndash, retest reliability presented a good agreement for the mode of commuting to school in children, distance and time to school, and the mode of commuting to work in parents, while the questions on acceptable distance to walk or cycle to school showed a moderate to good agreement. The &ldquo, questionnaire could be a useful tool to assess the mode of commuting of children, distance and time to school for researchers and practitioners.

El trabajo que se presenta recoge la experiencia de un proyecto de coordinación interdisciplinar entre tres asignaturas de la mención de educación física del grado en magisterio en educación primaria (actividades físicas individuales, actividades físicas de oposición y colaboración, y actividades físicas artístico-expresivas) en torno al contenido del acrosport. Se establecieron dos objetivos: identificar las diferencias significativas en cuanto a las calificaciones obtenidas en el proyecto según la matrícula en las tres asignaturas integradas; y analizar la valoración del alumnado sobre la aportación de las asignaturas implicadas en el proyecto, el trabajo autónomo y la adquisición de las competencias transversales. Participaron 66 alumnos/as de una media de edad de 22,90 años, 34 alumnos y 32 alumnas, todos ellos pertenecientes a la mención de educación física del grado de maestro de primaria de la facultad de educación de Zaragoza (universidad de Zaragoza). Para llevar a cabo el primer objetivo se diseñó una rúbrica para calificar por parte del profesorado los proyectos de acrosport. Para desarrollar el segundo objetivo se diseñó un cuestionario de valoración del alumnado sobre el proyecto. Los resultados extraídos a partir de las evaluaciones del profesorado muestran diferencias significativas positivas de las calificaciones del alumnado matriculado en las tres asignaturas implicadas. Los resultados procedentes de las valoraciones del alumnado sobre la aportación de las asignaturas implicadas revelan puntuaciones menores en la asignatura actividades físicas artístico-expresivas. Las valoraciones del alumnado en torno al trabajo autónomo y la adquisición de las competencias transversales obtuvieron altas puntuaciones. Abstract. This study is based on the experience of a coordinated interdisciplinary project around the content of acrosport involving three subjects (individual physical activities; competitive and collaborative physical activities; artistic-expressive physical activities) that form a part of the Physical Education module of the Primary Education Teaching Degree at the University of Zaragoza, Spain. There were two objectives: i) To identify significant differences in the grades obtained by the students in the three integrated subjects that comprised the project. ii) To analyze the evaluation and opinions of the students regarding the value of the subjects, the individual work and the acquisition of transversal competences. The study group was made up of 66 students with an average age of 22.9 years. There were 34 men and 32 women. All the participants were studying the Physical Education module of the Primary Education Degree at the Zaragoza University Faculty of Education. The teachers involved with the module designed a rubric to assess the acrobatic gymnastics project. To understand students’ opinions regarding the project, a questionnaire was designed. The results of the grades given to the students by the teachers showed significant differences in the three subjects. The results of the evaluations given by the students were lower for the subject of artistic-expressive physical activities. The students gave very high scores for the evaluation of individual work and the acquisition of transversal competences.

The objective of this article is to evaluate ‘Sigue la Huella’ (‘Follow the Footprint’), a 2-year Spanish school-based physical activity promotion intervention, taking into account the viewpoints of the different agents involved. The evaluation entails a qualitative analysis of the strengths and weaknesses associated with the agents’ participation, providing recommendations to improve the future application of this and other interventions. We draw on participatory research data collected through six focus groups with 35 participants (11 students, 14 teachers and 10 parents), semi-structured interviews with the two intervention facilitators, and an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses by the community advisory group. The results of this study identify some recommendations that focus on a new policy proposal within the school context, driven by the responsible institutions, for the programme to improve the participation of the different stakeholders in future replication and institutionalisation efforts. In the opinion of all the participants, including stakeholders, the need for an organisational and cultural change in the schools is considered; one that will support Physical Education (PE) teachers in order for them to head this type of interventions and ensure their sustainability. Reference is also made to the need for school education projects, and for the effective collaboration between teachers and students, as well as their empowerment. Furthermore, greater engagement of all agents involved in promoting school physical activity (PA), especially among girls and older teenagers, parents and non-PE teachers, must be achieved.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the multicomponent Sigue la Huella intervention on selected motivational outcomes and whether any of these outcomes, in addition to relevant socio-demographic, biological, and behavioral factors, served as predictors of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity and sedentary time among participants through the intervention. This quasi-experimental, cohort study took place in four secondary schools in Huesca (Spain) during three academic years (students aged 12–15 years). Two schools were assigned to the experimental condition (n = 368) and two schools to the control condition (n = 314). Outcome variables were assessed objectively. A total of 553 participants met study inclusion criteria. Compared to the control group, participants in the experimental group reported greater enjoyment of physical activity, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in physical education, perceived autonomy in physical education, perceived competence in physical education, and perceived importance of physical education over time. Participants in this group reported also lower amotivation in physical education over time. In subsequent analyses, gender, organized physical activity out of school, sedentary time, and perceived importance of physical education predicted moderate-to-vigorous physical activity. Type of school (public vs. private), moderate-to-vigorous physical activity, and perceived autonomy in physical education emerged as predictors of sedentary time. Sigue la Huella had a positive effect on motivational outcomes relevant to moderate-to-vigorous physical activity, sedentary time, and, particularly, student engagement in physical education. The analyses identified shared and unique determinants of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity and sedentary time, suggesting that specific intervention strategies may be required to address each outcome.

Active commuting to and from school has several health implications. Self-reporting is the most common assessment tool, but there is a high heterogeneity of questionnaires in the scientific literature. The purpose of this study was to analyse the feasibility and reliability of the Spanish &ldquo, New Version of Mode and Frequency of Commuting To and From School&rdquo, questionnaire in children and adolescents. A total of 635 children (5&ndash, 12 years old) and 362 adolescents (12&ndash, 18 years old) filled out the questionnaire twice (14 days apart). Feasibility was evaluated using an observational checklist. The test-retest reliability of the &ldquo, questionnaire and the distance and time to school were examined using the kappa and weight kappa coefficient (&kappa, ). No misunderstanding of questions was reported. The time to complete the questionnaire was 15 &plusmn, 3.62 and 9 &plusmn, 2.26 min for children and adolescents, respectively. The questionnaire showed substantial and almost perfect kappa coefficients for the overall six items (k = 0.61&ndash, 0.94) in children and adolescents. The &ldquo, questionnaire is a feasible and reliable questionnaire in Spanish children and adolescents.

A pesar de que la inactividad física está reconocida como un importante factor que contribuye al incremento de los niveles de obesidad y de otros problemas de salud, la mayoría de niños y adolescentes de las sociedades occidentales no realizan suficiente actividad física, para llegar a generar beneficios para su salud. El centro escolar representa una oportunidad para promocionar la actividad física, porque los niños permanecen gran parte de su tiempo en él. Para muchos escolares, las clases de Educación Física suponen el único momento a lo largo de la semana, en el que realizan práctica de actividad física. Tradicionalmente se ha considerado a la Educación Física como un área privilegiada en la promoción de la actividad física, bien de una manera directa, contribuyendo a la acumulación diaria de actividad física recomendada, bien de forma indirecta, promoviendo la actividad física fuera del centro escolar, a través del desarrollo de actitudes y competencias que permitan incorporar la conducta hacer práctica de actividad física, en el estilo de vida del individuo. Este artículo supone una reflexión sobre las relaciones entre la Educación Física y la promoción de la actividad física, analizando por un lado, el papel que debe jugar nuestra área que quizá deba estar más preocupada por atender aquellos aspectos motivacionales que favorezcan la adherencia a la práctica de actividad física presente y futura, y por otro, el rol del profesor de Educación Física, como facilitador y promotor de un estilo de vida activo y saludable, en coherencia con el modelo pedagógico de Educación Física y Salud.Abstract. Although physical inactivity is recognized as an important factor contributing to rising levels of obesity and other health problems, the majority of children and adolescents in Western societies do not get enough physical activity to generate health benefits. The school setting represents an opportunity to promote physical activity, because children spend much of their time in it. For many students, the Physical Education lessons represent the only time during the week in which they perform physical activity. It has traditionally been considered that physical education as a privileged area for the promotion of physical activity, in a direct way, contributing to the daily accumulation of physical activity recommended, and indirectly, promoting physical activity outside school, through the development of attitudes and skills which can help incorporate physical activity behavior in the lifestyle of the individual. This article is a reflection on the relationship between physical education and the promotion of physical activity, analyzing, first, the role to be played by our field that may need to be more concerned with addressing those motivational aspects that promote adherence to physical activity in the present and the future, and secondly, the role of the physical education teacher, as facilitator and promoter of an active, healthy lifestyle, consistent with the pedagogical model of Physical Education and health.

Background : To examine the effects of the Sigue la Huella (Follow the Footstep) intervention on adolescents’ daily sedentary time (ST). Methods : This quasi-experimental, cohort study took place in four secondary schools in Huesca (Spain) during the 2009–2010, 2010–2011 and 2011–2012 academic years (students aged 12–15 years). Two schools were assigned to the experimental condition ( n = 368) and two schools to the control condition ( n = 314). Sigue la Huella adopted a whole school approach and used both curricular and non-curricular intervention channels to empower students to make better decisions. ST was measured for 7 days on four occasions using accelerometers. Growth curve models were used to analyze the data. Results : In the model with all participants, a significant interaction indicated that the effect of the intervention was dependent on the study cohort considered. While in cohort 1 there were no significant differences in rate of linear change of ST between the experimental and the control group ( P = 0.148), in cohorts 2 and 3 significant differences were observed in favor of the experimental group ( β = −13.88, 95% CI = −25.00 to −2.76, P = 0.015; β = −76.73, 95% CI = −110.68 to −42.78, P < 0.001), independent of type of school (public vs. private) and gender. Conclusions : Sigue la Huella had mainly a protective effect in two of the three study cohorts. Whereas in cohort 2 the intervention prevented increases in ST, in cohort 3 the intervention reduced considerably the increase in ST noted in the control group.

Formative research is a critical step for the development of interventions aimed at changing behaviours, as is the case of physical activity. This process permits obtaining detailed information about the programme application context. ‘Follow the Footstep’ is a quasi-experimental and longitudinal study in secondary schools, the aim of which is to increase levels of physical activity among adolescents. To inform the design of the intervention programme, formative research has been carried out to analyse the perceptions of parents, teachers and students, through six focus groups. The social–ecological model was used both to carry out the formative research and then to design the programme, including five levels of influence on behaviour (individual, interpersonal, organizational, community and political), which are important when it comes to adopting a comprehensive intervention approach. The authors describe how the results of formative research were transferred to guide the design and development of the intervention. As results indicate, parents, teachers and students agreed on a need to intervene by engaging adolescents and their close social environment. The school centre is the key organizational structure to implement this intervention, supported by professionals and the community.

This narrative review describes the available scientific evidence regarding promising school-based strategies to increase physical activity of adolescents. We conducted a literature search for studies published up to 2011, regarding adolescent physical activity intervention studies that resulted in increased physical activity (regardless of measurement) and reviewed 52 intervention articles and 21 review articles. We identified several promising strategies and grouped into five broad intervention guidelines. These guidelines are as follows: (i) design multi-component interventions that foster the empowerment of members of the school community; (ii) develop improvements to Physical Education curricula as a strategy to promote physical activity to adolescents; (iii) design and implement non-curricular programmes and activities to promote physical activity; (iv) include computer-tailored interventions during the implementation and monitoring of physical activity promotion programmes and (v) design and implement specific strategies that respond to the interests and needs of girls. On the basis of our review of the adolescent physical activity promotion literature, we suggest that these five guidelines should be taken into account in school-based interventions geared towards achieving an increase in adolescent physical activity.

El profesor de Educación Física (EF) ejerce un papel fundamental en la promoción de la actividad física (AF) desde su práctica docente. El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar la influencia que la percepción del apoyo de la autonomía por parte del profesor de EF ejerce en la práctica habitual de AF, tanto desde el punto de vista del alumnado como del profesorado. Participaron un total de 831 adolescentes y 18 profesores de EF de las ciudades de Huesca (España) y Tarbes (Francia). Se realizó un análisis de regresión lineal por pasos sucesivos, el cual mostró que tanto una mayor percepción de apoyo de autonomía del profesor de EF por parte de los alumnos, como una orientación altamente autónoma del profesor de EF, predicen de forma significativamente positiva una mayor práctica de AF habitual en los adolescentes. El desarrollo de un clima orientado a la autonomía en EF debe constituir uno de los pilares principales de todo proceso educativo. Ese clima propicio debe basarse en el discurso e intervención docente del profesor de EF como elementos determinantes del comportamiento de los adolescentes, pudiendo contribuir a su desarrollo como sujetos más activos en su tiempo libre. Physical Education (PE) teachers play an essential role in promoting physical activity (PA) with their teaching activity. The purpose of this study was to analyse the influence that perceived autonomy support from PE teachers exerts on regular engagement in PA, both from the students' and teachers' viewpoint. A total of 831 teenagers took part (M = 14.32; SD = .73; 372 boys and 459 girls) and 18 PE teachers (9 men and 9 women) from the cities of Huesca (Spain) and Tarbes (France). A linear regression analysis was performed in stages, which showed that both greater perceived autonomy support from the PE teachers by students, and highly autonomous orientation of the PE teachers positively predict greater engagement in regular PA in teenagers. The development of an autonomy-oriented climate in PE must make up one of the main pillars of the whole education process. This favourable climate must be based on the teaching intervention and discourse of the PE teachers as determining elements of the teenagers' behaviour, being able to contribute to their development as more active people in their free time. O ensino de Educação Física (EF) exerce um papel fundamental na promoção de actividade física (AF). O objectivo deste estudo foi analisar a influência que a percepção de apoio à autonomia que os professores de EF exercem na prática habitual de AF, tanto do ponto de vista dos alunos como dos professores. Participaram no estudo um total de 831 adolescentes (M = 14.32; DP = .73; 372 rapazes e 459 raparigas) e 18 professores de EF (9 homens e 9 mulheres) das cidades de Huesca (Espanha) e Tarbes (França). Realizou-se uma análise de regressão linear stepwise, a qual revelou que tanto uma maior percepção de apoio à autonomía dos professores de EF por parte dos alunos, como uma orientação altamente autónoma por parte dos professores de EF, predizem de forma positiva uma maior prática de AF habitual nos adolescentes. O desenvolvimento de um clima orientado para a autonomia em EF deve constituir um dos pilares principais do processo educativo. Esse clima propício deve basear-se no discurso e na intervenção docente dos professores de EF como elementos determinantes do comportamento dos adolescentes, podendo contribuir para o seu desenvolvimento enquanto pessoas mais activas no seu tempo livre.

To examine the effects of a school-based intervention called Sigue la Huella (Follow the Footstep) on adolescents' daily moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA).This quasi-experimental, cohort study took place in four secondary schools in Huesca (Spain) during the 2009-2010, 2010-2011, and 2011-2012 academic years (students aged 12-15 years). Two schools were assigned to the experimental condition (n=368) and two schools to the control condition (n=314). Sigue la Huella was based on the social ecological model and self-determination theory. MVPA was measured for 7 days on 4 occasions using accelerometers. Data were analyzed with individual growth curve models.There was a significant difference in linear growth rate of daily MVPA between the experimental and the control group, independent of study wave, type of school (public vs. private), grade level and gender (p0.001). Specifically, MVPA increased in the experimental group (β=7.02, 95% confidence interval (CI)=1.27 to 12.78, p=0.017) and tended to decrease in the control group (β=-5.26, 95% CI=-11.17 to 0.65, p0.081). The observed increase was larger in boys than in girls (p=0.003).Sigue la Huella had a positive effect on adolescents' daily MVPA over three school years. Both genders benefited from the intervention, although boys to a greater extent.
