Methods: A randomized clinical trial was performed with 87 participants, evaluated six times during pregnancy and divided into three groups: Gsup, supervised; Gobs, not supervised, and Gref, women who did not perform the home exercises program. A miction diary and perineometry were used to evaluate urinary incontinence (primary outcome) and pelvic floor muscle strength (secondary outcome), respectively. The Kruskal-Wallis test with post hoc Dunn's and chi-square and Z tests with Bonferroni correction were used for continuous variables and proportions, respectively, with the level of significance set at 5%. Results: At the end of the study, 6.9% of pregnant women in the Gsup and Gobs had urinary incontinence, while 96.6% of Gref women were incontinent. Regarding pelvic floor muscle function, Gsup and Gobs had mean contractions of 10 and 8.9 cmH2O, respectively, while Gref had a value of 4.7 cmH2O. Both results were significant. Conclusion: An illustrated home exercise guide targeting the pelvic floor muscles is effective in promoting urinary continence during pregnancy, even without permanent supervision. No Brasil, sua prevalência decresce na população geral, com o incentivo de políticas públicas, mas ainda é elevada em pessoas portadoras de Condições Crônicas não Transmissíveis (CCNT). A compreensão dos modelos de atenção e tratamento do tabagista é essencial para que as técnicas utilizadas possam ser aprimoradas, contribuindo com uma redução do abandono do tratamento. Objetivos: Identificar as características sociodemográficas e de saúde dos indivíduos que buscaram o Programa Nacional de Controle do Tabaco (PNCT) em duas Unidades Básicas de Saúde (UBS) no município de Campinas; estimar o percentual de abandono do tratamento e elencar os fatores associados a esse desfecho. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo de coorte histórica, cujos dados foram obtidos em grupos de cessação de tabagismo, em duas UBS de Campinas (SP), segundo modelo proposto pelo PNCT, compreendidos entre janeiro de 2016 e dezembro de 2019. A pesquisa incluiu 276 participantes. Foram levantadas variáveis sociodemográficas, relativas às condições de saúde, relativas ao tabagismo e relativas à participação no programa. A análise exploratória foi feita através de medidas de tendência central e dispersão para as variáveis contínuas e de frequências simples e percentuais para as variáveis categóricas. Além disso, foi estimado o índice de abandono do tratamento com intervalo de confiança ao nível de 95%. Foi ajustado um modelo de regressão múltipla de Cox para o risco de abandono no tratamento em função de variáveis significativas (p < 0,20) identificadas. Os missings foram imputados utilizando o método de predictive mean matching por meio da função mice no software R 4.0.3. Associações foram consideradas estatisticamente significativas no modelo de regressão múltipla se p < 0,05. Resultados: A média de idade foi de 50,7 anos; sendo 60% sexo feminino; 40,6% se declararam brancos e 29,7% não brancos; 42,8% com companheiro e 39,1% sem; 70,3% relataram ter filhos e 12,7% sem filhos; 2,2% de analfabetos, 41,7% ensino fundamental, 27,5% ensino médio e 8% nível superior; 0,7% responderam receber menos de um salário-mínimo,11,6% entre um e dois salários e 5,8% acima de dois salários.8% declararam trabalhar em setores administrativos,18,1% em setor industrial, 25,7% em serviços,12,3% outros setores e 35,9% não responderam; 43,5% são católicos e 31,5% referiram outra religião, sendo que desses, 131 consideraram-se praticantes. O percentual de abandono do tratamento foi de 31% (IC 95%, 26% – 37%), equivalente a 87 indivíduos. Dentre as variáveis estudadas, hipertensão foi a única que estatisticamente se relacionou com o abandono do tratamento (p = 0,030), reduzindo-o. Conclusão: O perfil dos indivíduos que procurou o PNCT foi semelhante ao encontrado em outras pesquisas. Dentre as comorbidades avaliadas na análise estatística, notou-se que indivíduos não hipertensos apresentaram maior índice de abandono. São necessários outros estudos que avaliem fatores associados ao abandono do tratamento para o aprimoramento das estratégias de cuidado com o tabagista. Introduction: According to the WHO (World Health Organization), more than 8 million people die, annually, from the use of tobacco. In Brazil, its prevalence among the overall population decreased as a result of public health policy adoption, although some prevalence persists among people with NTCC (Non-Transmissible Chronic Conditions). Comprehension of attention models and smoker treatment models is essential for devising techniques that contribute to reduce the number of treatment dropouts. Objectives: identify epidemiological and health aspects of smokers; estimate the dropout rates and list the facts associated with treatment dropout. Methodology: Historical cohort study on 276 smokers who were attended between 2016 and 2019. Sociodemographic variables, health conditions, forms of tobacco use and participation in the program were analysed relatively to smoking cessation. The analysis used the Cox regression model to model the risk of treatment abandonment as a function of the variables which presented significative associations to the number of dropouts (p < 0.20), as identified in a bivariate analysis. The missings were imputed using the “predictive mean matching” method through the mice function from the software R 4.0.3. Associations were considered statistically significant in the adjusted multiple regression model from the software SPSS 21 if p < 0.05. Results: The average age was of 50.8 years; mostly female (60%); 57.7% declared themselves white and 42.3% non-white; 52.2% with a partner and 47.8% without a partner; 84.7% have at least a child and 15.3% have no children; 2.7% are illiterate, 52.5% have primary school education, 34.7% have high school diplomas and 10.1% have a college degree; 4% receive less than the minimum wage; 64% receive between 1 to 2 minimum wages and 32% receive more than 2 minimum wages; 12.4% declare to work in administrative departments, 28.3% in the industrial sector, 40.1% in the services sector, 19.2% in other sectors; 58% are catholic and 42% declared to have another religion: among them, 62.4% consider themselves practitioners. The treatment abandonment rate was 31% (Trust Index 95%, 26% – 37%), equivalent to 87 individuals. Among the studied variables, hypertension was the only one that is statistically related to a reduction in treatment dropout (p = 0.030). Conclusion: The profile of individuals who sought the National Program for Tobacco Control was similar to the one found in other surveys. Among the evaluated comorbidities in the statistical analyses, it is noted that the individuals who are not hypertense show the highest rates of abandonment. Further studies are needed to assess factors associated with treatment dropout in order to enhance caring strategies for smokers.

Método: Estudo transversal com 377 escolares de três instituições *duas privadas e uma pública) do município de Botucatu. A coleta de dados foi composta por questões de antecedentes pessoais, sociodemográficas, socioeconômicas, exame físico contendo, antropometria, biofotogrametria, peso e forma de uso da mochila, além de questionário sobre qualidade de vida (Pediatric Quality of Life inventary- PedsQl Versão 4.0). Para os fatores de risco, foram realizadas análises pelo modelo de regressão logística simples e múltiplo e para a percepção de qualidade de vida foram realizadas comparações entre grupos com e sem dor lombar. Para variáveis categóricas utilizado o teste quiquadrado e para contínuas o teste não paramétrico de Mann-whitney. Resultados: Identificou-se uma prevalência de dor lombar de 27,32% (IC95% 23,07-32,03). Variáveis relacionadas à hábitos de vida como por exemplo peso da mochila aumentaram a probabilidade de dor lombar (OR 1,45, IC95% 1,018-2,064). A autopercepção de qualidade de vida encontrou-se diminuída entre os indivíduos com dor lombar, apresentando scores menores em quase todos os domínios. Conclusão: A dor lombar apresenta prevalência relativamente alta, podendo surgir em crianças de menor faixa etária. Fatores como hábitos de vida se mostraram associados com dor lombar, além disso, esse sintoma pode repercutir em menor percepção global da qualidade de vida, gerando prejuízos em aspectos de capacidade física e emocional nessa população. Aims: To identify the prevalence of low back pain, factors associated with it and to investigate the impact of low back pain on the perception of quality of life in children aged six to twelve years. Method: Cross-sectional study with 377 students from three institutions * two private and one public) in the municipality of Botucatu. For risk factors, analyzes were performed using the simple and multiple logistic regression model and for the perception of quality of life, comparisons were made between groups with and without low back pain. Chi-square test was used for categorical variables and Mann-Whitney non-parametric test for continuous variables. Results: We identified a prevalence of low back pain of 27.32% (95% CI 23.07-32.03). Variables related to lifestyle habits such as backpack weight increased the likelihood of low back pain (OR 1.45, 95% CI 1.018-2.064). Self-perceived quality of life was reduced among individuals with low back pain, with lower scores in almost all domains. Conclusion: Low back pain has a relatively high prevalence, which can occur in children of a lower age group. Factors such as lifestyle habits have been shown to be associated with low back pain, in addition, this symptom may have a lower global perception of quality of life, generating losses in aspects of physical and emotional capacity in this population. Trata-se de um estudo transversal com 70 cuidadores informais que tiveram avaliadas a capacidade para o trabalho, variáveis sociodemográficas e variáveis relacionadas ao cuidado. Os resultados desta pesquisa são apresentados em forma de um artigo original, que contempla os objetivos propostos. Em relação à capacidade para o trabalho, em 35,7% dos cuidadores informais esta foi classificada como inadequada. Qualidade de vida (OR: 0,948, IC: 0,925 – 0,971) e autopercepção da aptidão física (OR: 0,324, IC: 0,175 – 0,602), apresentaram associação positiva com a capacidade para o trabalho, enquanto, idade (OR: 1,066, IC: 1,021 – 1,113), sobrecarga do cuidador (OR: 1,054, IC: 1,010 – 1,100) e piora da qualidade do sono (OR: 1,070, IC: 1,017 – 1,127) apresentaram associação inversa com a capacidade para o trabalho. Os aspectos relacionados à saúde do cuidador informal são poucos estudados no Brasil e no mundo, assim os resultados encontrados neste estudo auxiliam no embasamento de discussões que visem à implementação de políticas públicas de saúde voltadas à essa população. The objective of this research was to evaluate the work ability in informal caregivers of bedridden or domiciled patients attended by the Home Care Service of Bauru / SP, as well as to investigate the factors associated with it. This is a cross-sectional study of 70 informal caregivers who had their work ability, sociodemographic variables and care-related variables evaluated. The results of this research are presented in the form of an original article, which contemplates the proposed objectives. Regarding work ability, 35.7% of informal caregivers were classified as inadequate. Quality of life (OR: 0.948, CI: 0.925 - 0.971) and self-perceived physical fitness (OR: 0.324, CI: 0.175 - 0.602) were positively associated with work ability, while age (OR: 1.066, CI : 1.021 - 1.133), caregiver burden (OR: 1.054, CI: 1.010 - 1.100) and worsening sleep quality (OR: 1.070, IC: 1.017 - 1.127) were inversely associated with work ability. Aspects related to the informal caregiver's health have been relatively scarcely studied in Brazil and worldwide, thus the results found in this study may set up scientific bases for discussions about the implementation of public health policies aimed at this population.
