Genus är ett komplext och väl debatterat ämne där alla deltagare för med sig sina egna livserfarenheter och resonemang. Vår studies syfte är att bidra med kunskap om hur verksamma förskollärare i Sverige resonerar om betydelsen av deras roll och förhållningssätt utifrån genus och jämställdhet i sitt arbete i förskolan. Studiens metod är kvalitativa intervjuer med förskollärare som sedan analyseras och diskuteras med stöd av den feministiska poststrukturalistiska teorin och relevant tidigare forskning. Studiens resultat visar på hur samhällets normer om genus och kön är svåra att arbeta emot. Resultatet belyser också förskollärarnas öppenhet och motivation för arbete med genus och kön i förskolan.

I den svenska förskolan finns idag många barn som använder sig av fler språk än svenska för att kommunicera. I förskolans uppdrag ingår att stödja flerspråkiga barns utveckling i både modersmål och i svenska. Undersökningens syfte är att öka kunskaperna om vilka erfarenheter förskolechefer har av att leda arbetet med språkutveckling hos flerspråkiga barn. Frågeställningarna innefattar vilka riktlinjer förskolecheferna har att förhålla sig till, vilket stöd de kan ge sin personal och hur de ser på sin egen förskoleverksamhet i detta avseende. Undersökningen är en kvalitativ studie som baserar sig på fem intervjuer med förskolechefer från en kommun i Mellansverige. Resultatet av studien visar att allt som kan tänkas förstärka det talade språket, exempelvis bilder, tecken och gester, främjar flerspråkiga barns språkinlärning. Även leken lyftes fram som en arbetsmetod som förskolecheferna menar gynnar språkinlärning hos barn. Ytterligare en aspekt som respondenterna menar är betydelsefull för flerspråkiga barns utveckling är ett fungerande samarbete med vårdnadshavarna. Undersökningen visade att förskolecheferna såg utvecklingen av flerspråkiga barns modersmål som ett förbättringsområde i deras verksamheter.

The aim of the study is to examine how identity constructions and categorizations affecting individuals that are learning a second language are created in political documents in Sweden. Furthermore, the study inquires the paradoxical dilemma which occurs between the keyword integration which characterizes the discourse of Swedish politics and the way individuals who acquire a second language are referred to and described in parliamentary motions, and which linguistic ideologies as well as epistemologies that are behind these statements. The critical discourse analysis, the ideology criticism and the syntactic analysis form the basis for this study together with a qualitative approach. Study results has shown how the authors of parliamentary motions categorize and attributes individuals who acquire a second language specific identity constructions. Categorizations were created with imaginary boundaries between the swede/the Swedish and the immigrant/minority group. Individuals who acquire a second language were assigned identity constructions as invandrare (immigrant) and flykting (refugees) and these identity constructs attributed specific characteristics. Overall, the identity construction that was given the immigrant was often based on characteristics such as lack of swedish knowledge, in the absence of moral qualities, in the absence of motivation and sense of responsibility, lack of parenting, different values and norms than Swedish. The second identity construction that was not explicitly expressed in the parliamentary motions but still was present in the form of the achievable identity contruction that immigrants should aim for, was the identity construction as the swede/the Swedish. The identity construction ’Swedish’ implied implicit qualities such as knowledge in the swedish language, the correct moral qualities, good parenting and the right values and the right normsystem. Furthermore, the syntactic analysis showed that parliamentary motions were written in a specific way that positioned the central subject first in the process, those subjects were often those that could be characterized as Swedish or having the task to make the minority group Swedish. For example the Swedish as a second language education, laguage (in this case the Swedish langage), We (as in We – the majority group) and a language- and social test for naturalization. Based on the analysis and the conclusion it becomes obvious that the parliamentary motions are written from an ideology perspective which relies on homogenism.

Uppsala kommun planerar för en ny stadsdel i Ulleråker som ligger söder om Uppsalas stadskärna. Den nya stadsdelen ska utformas med hållbarhet i fokus och ska främja god bebyggelse, sköna naturupplevelser och miljövänliga transportmedel, samtidigt som de måste värna om den underliggande Uppsalaåsen som är kommunens huvudsakliga dricksvattentäkt. Detta arbete ser över det värmebehov som de nya bostäderna kommer kräva, och hur denna skulle kunna tillgodoses med lokala samt förnybara energilösningar. De energilösningar som undersökts är tak monterade vindturbiner, solfångare, borrhålslager och akviferlager. De utvärderas separat baserat på potentiell effekt, dess miljöpåverkan och lämplighet specifikt för området Ulleråker. Rapporten är baserad på litteraturstudie och enklare beräkningar som utförts med hjälp av befintliga data och kartor från myndigheter, institutioner och Uppsala kommun. Antalet takmonterade vindturbiner som krävs för att täcka hela värmebehovet är starkt beroende av turbinernas effekt och med maximal effekt skulle upp till 7190 vindturbiner räcka. Den totala arean för solfångare som skulle motsvara detta ligger på cirka 5000 m2. Ett borrhålslager skulle uppskattningsvis kräva mellan 479 till 4793 borrhål, mycket beroende på vilken värmeledningsförmåga berget har och hur långt ned det är möjligt att borra. Grundvattentäkten skulle som akviferlager kunna generera en effekt på cirka 1000 kW, vilket motsvarar något mer än en tredjedel av det totala behovet. Slutligen undersöktes möjligheten av ett kombinerat system med de lämpliga energilösningarna och ett förslag för hur denna skulle kunna dimensioneras. Vid utvärdering av de olika lösningarnas miljöpåverkan och lämplighet så finner vi att geoenergi kan innebära en risk för den underliggande grundvattentäkten. Framförallt kan akviferlager anses som tämligen olämpligt då anläggningen bygger på en anslutning direkt till dricksvattentäkten. The new district will be designed with sustainability in focus and should promote good housing, beautiful outdoor experiences and environmentally friendly transport while protecting the underlying Uppsalaåsen, which is the municipality's main drinking water source. This report looks at the heat demand that the new housing requires and how it could be met with local and renewable energy solutions. The energy solutions investigated are roof-mounted wind turbines, solar collectors, borehole and aquifer thermal energy storage. They are evaluated separately based on potential output, its environmental impact and suitability specifically for Ulleråker. The report is based on literature studies and simpler calculations are performed with existing data and maps from authorities, institutions and Uppsala municipality. The number of roof-mounted wind turbines required to cover the entire heat demand is highly dependent on the turbine effect and with a maximum power then up to 7190 wind turbines would be needed. The total area of solar collectors that would correspond to this is approximately 5000 m2. A borehole storage would need to require between 479 to 4793 boreholes, much depending on the heat conductivity of the rock and how far down it is possible to drill. The aquifer could generate a power of about 1000 kW, equivalent to slightly more than a third of the total demand. Finally, the possibility of a combined system with the appropriate energy solutions was obtained and a proposal for how it could be dimensioned. When assessing the environmental impact and suitability of the various solutions, we find that geothermal energy can pose a risk to the underlying groundwater source. Above all, the aquifer storage can be considered as quite unsuitable as the storage is based directly on the drinking water source.

Although we know a lot about why households choose certain dwellings, we know relatively little about the mechanisms behind neighbourhood choice. Most studies of neighbourhood choice only focus on one or two dimensions of neighbourhoods: typically poverty and ethnicity. This paper argues that neighbourhoods have multiple dimensions and that models of neighbourhood choice should take these dimensions into account. We propose the use of a conditional logit model. From this approach we can gain insight into the interaction between individual and neighbourhood characteristics which lead to the choice of a particular neighbourhood over alternative destinations. We use Swedish register data to model neighbourhood choice for all households which moved to a neighbourhood in the city of Uppsala between 1997 and 2006. Our results show that neighbourhood sorting is a highly structured process where households are very likely to choose neighbourhoods where the neighbourhood population matches their own characteristics.

The number of studies investigating neighbourhood effects has increased rapidly over the last two decades. Although many of these studies claim to have found evidence for neighbourhood effects, most 'evidence' is likely the result of reversed causality. The main challenge in modelling neighbourhood effects is the (econometric) identification of causal effects. The most severe problem is selection bias as a result of selective sorting into neighbourhoods. This paper argues that in order to further our understanding of neighbourhood effects we should explicitly incorporate neighbourhood sorting into our models. Neighbourhood effect studies are in the situation where the processes behind one of its key methodological problems (selection bias) are also critical to fully understand the neighbourhood context itself. It is thus remarkable that residential mobility and neighbourhood sorting has been almost completely ignored in the neighbourhood effects literature.

t Bakgrund: Kronisk obstruktiv lungsjukdom (KOL) är en kronisk inflammatorisk sjukdom där tobaksröken är den främsta orsaken till uppkomsten. Det är en sjukdom som ofta utvecklas under lång tid innan den uppmärksammas och den har en dödlig utgång. Syfte: Denna litteraturstudies syfte var att belysa faktorer av betydelse för välbefinnandet hos individer med KOL, se vilka copingstrategier de använder sig av, samt vad sjuksköterskan kan göra för att stödja dessa individer. Metod: Litteraturstudien baserades på 19 internationellt publicerade vetenskapliga studier. Innehållsanalysen ledde fram till sju teman. Resultat: Fynden i denna litteraturstudie visar att faktorer som att klara saker själv och socialt stöd hade en positiv inverkan på välbefinnandet. Med copingstrategier som att ha en positiv attityd, ta hjälp av professionella, ta kontroll och fokusera på andra saker kunde individen känna välbefinnande trots sin sjukdom. Det var viktigt att sjuksköterskan hade kunskap inom området och ett professionellt förhållningssätt. Slutsats: Om sjuksköterskan ger relevant information och stödjer dessa patienter i ett tidigt skede, kan individen känna välbefinnande trots sin sjukdom. Vidare forskning inom området med fokus på hur anhöriga påverkas av sjukdomen skulle vara intressant.

Williams Syndrome (WS) is a neurodevelopmental disorder of known genetic origin, characterized by serious delays in language onset yet relatively verbose, intelligible and fluent speech in late childhood and adulthood. How do motor abilities relate to language in this group? We investigated planning and co-ordination of the movement of the speech articulators (oromotor praxis) in 28 fluent-speaking individuals with WS, aged between 12 and 30 years. Results indicate that, despite their fluent language, oromotor praxis was impaired in WS relative to two groups of typically-developing children, matched on either vocabulary or visuospatial ability. These findings suggest that the ability to plan, co-ordinate and execute complex sensorimotor movements contribute to an explanation of the delay in expressive language early in development in this neurodevelopmental disorder. In the discussion, we turn to more general issues of how individual variation in oromotor praxis may account for differences in speech/language production abilities across developmental language disorders., Highlights • Individuals with Williams Syndrome are impaired when imitating oral movements. • Visual presentation of movements hampers performance more than aural presentation. • Initial oromotor deficits may contribute to surprising early language delays.
