This paper presents a project for the reorganization and conservation of the cultural heritage site "A.N. Kraft's Estate at Kostino, early 20th century" and analyses the historical and analytical aspects of the design. The project, involving restoration and further development of a significant historical part of the city of Korolev, Moscow Oblast, seeks to reorganize the space and adapt the cultural heritage objects located in the area to modern use. The project was evaluated by means of the resource planning method, which enables a qualitative assessment of the concept to be implemented. In conclusion, the authors outline basic approaches to the development of a concept for reorganization of an area with existing cultural heritage objects.

Background: Lead (Pb) is a highly toxic pollutant. Evidence suggests it is associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD)-related mortality. Objectives: We present a rigorous approach for identifying concentration-response functions that relate adult Pb exposures to CVD mortality t[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]o inform a health impact model (HIM). We then use the model in a proof-of-concept example. Methods: Building on previously conducted government literature reviews and a de novo supplemental literature review, we compiled and evaluated the available data on Pb and CVD mortality in humans. We applied a set of predefined selection criteria to identify studies that would be most useful in understanding the impact of Pb exposure on CVD mortality risk in adults. Once we identified the studies, we derived a HIM and used each study's concentration-response function in a proof-of-concept example. Results: Our literature search identified 15 studies for full-text review. Of those 15 studies, 4 fit our criteria for use in the HIM. Using population and CVD mortality rates for 40- to 80-y-olds in 2014, we estimated that 34,000-99,000 deaths have been avoided due to the lowering of blood Pb levels from 1999 to 2014. Based on these values we estimated that approximately 16%-46% of the decreased CVD-related death rate from 1999 to 2014 may be attributable to decreased blood Pb levels. Conclusion: Our results demonstrate that decreases in Pb exposure can result in large benefits for the adult population. The article focuses on the basic tools of Russia-EU international cooperation, cofunded by the EU and Russia, such as crossborder, trans-border, and trans-national cooperation programmes, which can contribute to innovative, scientific and technological development. The author gives an overview of large-scale Russia-EU international cooperation projects in the field of innovations and comments on the cooperation programme running until the end of 2013. Special attention is paid to a special financial tool — the Framework Programme — one of the most important tools of financial support for joint projects in the fields of science and innovation with the EU participation. The article emphasises the opportunities for career growth and professional development for individual researchers in the field of innovation.

This article addresses the role of innovative centres in the development of surrounding areas beyond large cities. At the same time, the innovative development of rural areas should be of a composite nature; municipality development strategies take innovations into account. International practices serve as a an argument in favour of establishing innovative centres in smaller and medium-sized towns in order to facilitate the socioeconomic development of the territory and surrounding rural areas. Science parks created in smaller towns give a boost to socioeconomic development. The authors analyse the case of the science park in the town of Gusev in the Kaliningrad region and emphasise the role of development and adoption of legal acts at regional and municipal levels, for example, the law «On the production policy of the Kaliningrad region».
