The article is devoted to the prospects of using virtual and mixed reality systems as a tool for introducing students into scientific activity. Attention is paid to the development of content for such systems in condensed matter physics based on the method of molecular dynamics. In this study we suggested one of the possible ways to simplify the making of 3D models for a course in solid state physics. A survey was conducted among students about the complexity of developing such models. The results obtained testify in favor of the use of such methods both in teaching physics itself and in forming a base of models. In addition, the use of these technologies increases the interest of students in the subject of study. The results of this study indicate the feasibility of using this technology as an educational tool when introduced to scientific activity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article demonstrates the possibility of using atomistic modeling, using the example of the molecular dynamics method, as an additional educational tool in the study of the properties of crystalline solids in laboratory work. The research was carried out with the participation of 5th year bachelor students studying in a double specialty "physics and computer science" in a pedagogical direction. A range of software is considered, which allows a flexible approach to the choice of topics for laboratory work, ensuring their implementation without significant time expenditures both on the part of the teacher and the students. A positive response from students was received, which was also expressed in a higher average score according to the results of mastering the discipline. The opinion of students is expressed that additional means of visualizing the results when carrying out molecular dynamics modeling are not required. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this article, the crystallogeometric analysis of A2BC ternary ordered alloys with superstructure L10 based on the fcc lattice is presented and sublimation energy of the alloy is calculated. The ternary alloy structure is presented as a union of monatomic simple cubic lattices. All possible geometrically different representations of the L10 superstructure are found by considering the translational symmetry and point symmetry of the alloy. The sublimation energy of the considered ally is presented as a sum of the pair potentials φAA(Ri), φBB(Ri), φCC (Ri), φAB(Ri), φAC (Ri), φBC (Ri), where Ri is the radius of the i-th coordination sphere. It is shown that, for the superstructure under consideration, the contribution to the energy on the first coordination sphere is made by bonds AB, AB, AC, and BC, and on the second coordination sphere by the bonds AA, BB, and CC. Numerical modeling was carried out for the first 12 coordination spheres and showed the alternation of the contribution of the energies of pair potentials for even and odd coordination spheres.
