SMK Pariwisata Telkom Bandung adalah sekolah yang berada di bawah naungan Yayasan Pendidikan Telkom dan sebagai mitra dalam program pengabdian masyarakat (Abdimas) ini. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra adalah masih terbatasnya tingkat pengetahuan dan keterampilan sekolah dalam menggunakan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK) yang menyebabkan minimnya inovasi yang diimplementasikan di sekolah, khususnya dalam fungsi keuangan. Adapun solusi yang ditawarkan dalam program Abdimas ini adalah memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam hal digitalisasi layanan keuangan sekolah berbasis cashless payment untuk mendukung inovasi layanan keuangan sekolah. Hasil feedback peserta telah menunjukkan bahwa program Abdimas ini secara positif dapat memberikan edukasi literasi digital terkait teknologi keuangan terkini. Oleh karena itu, program Abdimas ini berkontribusi dalam menguatkan dan meningkatkan kemampuan pengelolaan layanan keuangan sekolah. Selain itu, kegiatan abdimas ini juga menghasilkan sebuah teknologi tepat guna berupa aplikasi keuangan sekolah berbasis cashless payment.

PurposeExisting literature has reported a barrier list that could affect the implementation of digital transformation in higher education, yet the research question of how to identify barriers remained unanswered. Thus, this study intended to address this gap.Design/methodology/approachThe research design adopted a mixed-methods approach based on the problem-centered design science research (DSR) process model for the development and evaluation of framework.FindingsThis study proposed a systematic framework of three sets of components: (1) the initial set of barriers; (2) the barrier rating scheme and (3) the barrier scoring matrix. The three-component of the framework is to identify and prioritize barriers to the successful implementation of digital transformation in higher education.Research limitations/implicationsThe evaluation of the framework was only based on an expert opinion.Practical implicationsThis study provided a direction to the policymakers for designing sensible strategies to increase the chances of a successful digital transformation in higher education.Originality/valueThis study contributes to the knowledge body by offering a more systematic understanding of barriers to digital transformation in higher education.

In today's digital era buyers and sellers are using digital payment applications with non-cash payment transactions, in this transaction, there are other parties involved, namely, digital payment providers, where the digital payment provider from the buyer will continue the transaction to the financial network used by the seller. quickly, safely and cheaply, and in real-time, so that immediately the buyer and seller know whether the transaction was successful or not because they are using their smartphone devices. Gender differences, between men and women, can lead to differences in terms of spending with transactions through digital payments, therefore this study will look at whether there are differences between men and women in terms of using digital payments. The research approach used is quantitative research with the help of a questionnaire. A total of 104 users were involved in this study to be asked for information about experiences in using various payments provided by four popular digital payment providers in Indonesia, namely Gopay, Ovo, LinkAja, and Dana. For data analysis, this study uses a different test analysis for each sample, and the results show that there is no difference in the use of digital payments seen from a gender perspective.

Purpose This study aims to test a theoretical framework to identify and prioritize barriers in the implementation of digital transformation in higher education. Design/methodology/approach The framework was tested using the context of a particular nation: Indonesia. First, a survey questionnaire was conducted to identify the key barriers. Second, the contextual relationship between the key barriers was determined based on an expert’s input to find the importance level of barriers and the degree of difficulty to fix the barriers. Finally, a barrier priority matrix was developed to prioritize the barriers. Findings This study identified the key barriers in the implementation of digital transformation in higher education in Indonesia including eight contextual issues, one technical issue and two cultural issues with different levels of importance and difficulty. Based on the matrix constructed, this study also presented a list of the top 11 priorities of barriers. Research limitations/implications The results were based on a particular region context. Practical implications This study lays the foundation for the theoretical framework that is practically useful to perform the identification and prioritization of barriers. Besides, the result discussed in this study gives some direction for policymakers in designing sensible strategies to overcome the barriers. Originality/value The main contribution of this study is an empirical study that systematically identifies and prioritizes barriers to digital transformation in higher education.

For higher education institutions that encourage digital transformation, understanding the barriers are necessary for the digital transformation accomplishment. The purpose of this paper is to present a review of the literature on barriers to digital transformation in higher education. To get a wide overview in identifying the barriers to the implementation of digital transformation, a structured literature review was used to select the relevant studies published. Nine categories were identified based on the literature reviewed: vision, strategy and policy, resources, leadership, digital skill and knowledge, technology, adaptability, resistance to change, and government and economic. Our findings provided a fish-bone diagram that outlines twenty-two barriers to digital transformation in higher education. The main contribution of this study is a synthesis of the state of the art of barriers to digital transformation in higher education. We contribute to provide a common basic understanding of barriers to digital transformation in higher education to overcome barriers for improving the possibility of success. The trend of using digital payment in Indonesia is increasing every year. Most people have been felt the benefit of Digital Payment service. This research provide perspective about awareness, perceptions and preferences of students in Indonesia towards digital payment-based payment system. This quantitative research involved 104 students from various universities in Indonesia. The information collected by a questionnaire and was analyzed by descriptive statistical techniques. The result of this study indicate that the awareness of students in Indonesia about digital payment services is very high. The convenience of using this service, the availability of services, discounts and reward points are the main factors that influence them in choosing digital payment service. This research also show that the majority of students prefer to continue using digital payment service. The results of this study can be useful for digital payment service provider in order to increase service satisfaction.

Rapid digital transformation is taking place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing organisations and higher educational institutions to change their working and learning culture. This study explores the challenges of rapid digital transformation arising during the pandemic in the higher education context. This research used the Q-methodology to understand the nine challenges that higher education encountered, perceived differently as four main patterns: (1) Digital-nomad enterprise; (2) Corporate-collectivism; (3) Well-being-oriented; and (4) Pluralistic. This study broadens the current understanding of digital transformation, especially in higher education. The nine challenges and four patterns of transformation actors serve as a starting point for organisations in supporting technological choice and strategic interventions, based on individual, group, and organisational behavioural levels. Moreover, five propositions, based on the competing concerns of these challenges, establish a framework for comprehending the ecosystem that enables rapid digital transformation. Strategies, prerequisites, and key factors during the (digital) technology development process benefit the cyber-society ecosystem. The e-learning readiness assessment is a critical process that an institution needs to do in implementing e-learning. By conducting an e-learning readiness assessment, an institution could identify the factors that hinder the successful implementation of e-learning and develop a strategic plan to enhance the e-learning implementation continuously. The higher education institution (HEI) needs to adopt this approach to implement e-learning successfully. Previous studies, such as in Turkey HEIs, Egyptian University, and the University of Mysore, India, reported that e-learning readiness assessment provides benefits in defining a future direction in e-learning innovation. Telkom University, one of the top private universities in Bandung, Indonesia, has launched many policies and programs related to e-learning to provide high-level academic services and increase productivity and efficiency in the learning process. Some individuals have raised some resistance to these policies and programs, but the actual data regarding this is minimal. The management needs data related to e-learning readiness to intervene and make this e-learning program a success. This study aims to capture the e-learning readiness in Telkom University from the institutional and learner perspectives. Data for this study were collected using an online questionnaire as well as depth-interview as archival sources. Besides identifying the e-learning readiness index, the output from this study is also to provide recommendations to policymakers regarding the implementation and the development of e-learning at Telkom University.

This paper presents a study of developing a framework using Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) for the barriers to digital transformation in higher education in a particular context: Indonesia. This study has identified 55 contextual relationships between the 11 key barriers and has developed five levels of the structure hierarchy. This study also proposed a four-phase strategy that will guide us to improve the strategy of the implementation of digital transformation in higher education in Indonesia. This research gives contribution by providing a better understanding of barriers and the interrelationships among barriers in the implementation of the digital transformation in the higher education domain.

There is a need to investigate the factors affecting researchers’ awareness and usage of Bibliographic Management Software (BMS) to deal with the plagiarism issue. This study aims to assess the student and teacher acceptance of BMS. A quantitative approach involves 108 samples collected from various higher education institutions in Indonesia is used. The design of the questionnaire adopts the six dimensions and 19 acceptance variables based on the Unified Theory Technology of Acceptance and User of Technology (UTAUT) model, and for the data analysis, this study uses a t-test for path analysis. This study found that the use of BMS has had accepted student and teacher points of view. In addition, this study confirms that behavior intention and facilitating conditions significantly influence the use of behavior from the student and teacher’s point of view when interacting with BMS. This finding could provide more understanding of students’ and teachers’ acceptance of BMS use for academic activities.

This study aims to investigate the self-regulated strategy of early childhood teachers in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. A quantitative survey approach was used as a method in this study. The data collection involved 100 early childhood teachers in Indonesia with a focus on the analysis of six dimensions of self-regulated strategy (1) goal setting, (2) environment structuring, (3) task strategies, (4) time management, (5) help-seeking, and (6) self-evaluation. The results of this study indicated that the level of self-regulated of early childhood teachers in a digital environment is good with an average value of 82.025%. In addition, the research findings also confirmed that the Covid-19 pandemic has not dampened the enthusiasm of early childhood teachers to adaptive in the digital learning environment. The main contribution of this study is to provide an understanding of the importance of self-regulated strategy for early childhood teachers in a digital environment. The results of this study can be useful for the Indonesian early childhood directorate as a basis for policy making and evaluating the improvement of the competence of early childhood teachers in Indonesia.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi self-regulated guru PAUD dalam pembelajaran online di masa pandemi Covid-19. Pendekatan survei kuantitatif digunakan sebagai metode dalam penelitian ini. Pengumpulan data melibatkan 100 guru PAUD di Indonesia dengan fokus pada analisis enam dimensi strategi self-regulated, yakni (1) penetapan tujuan, (2) penataan lingkungan, (3) strategi tugas, (4) manajemen waktu, (5) bantuan, dan (6) evaluasi diri. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat self-regulated guru PAUD di lingkungan digital sudah baik dengan nilai rata-rata 82,025%. Selain itu, temuan penelitian juga menegaskan bahwa pandemi Covid-19 tidak menyurutkan semangat guru PAUD untuk beradaptasi di lingkungan pembelajaran digital. Kontribusi utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan pemahaman tentang pentingnya strategi self-regulated bagi guru PAUD di lingkungan digital. Hasil penelitian ini dapat bermanfaat bagi Direktorat PAUD Indonesia sebagai dasar pengambilan kebijakan dan evaluasi peningkatan kompetensi guru PAUD di Indonesia.

This research presents an overview to develop an IT adoption method for e-learning in a Merged University. The development of IT adoption method in the Merged University is done by adjusting the gap between three elements: IT maturity level (in this case IT for elearning), category adopter of each Merged University and IT adoption criteria of individual actors of adoption. The maturity level of IT maturity level refers to Gartner, Hype Cycle, and Priority Matrix. Classification groups refer to adopter categories according to Rogers. The adoption model uses UTAUT model. For the process, a priority calculation method utilizes Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). IT adoption method for e-learning in a Merged University has been tested and can be applied Telkom University, formed from four universities.

The importance of studying gender differences in student skills has been demonstrated by the emergence of various results of previous studies that discussed the recommendations for developing learning by considering gender. The question that raised in this study is whether there is a difference between the assessment of male and female students on aspects related to the learning outcomes in the context of e-learning. The main contribution of this study was to provide evidence about matters considered necessary by male and female students towards achieving their learning outcomes. This research is based on a sample of 223 students that registered as e-learning class participants on two different campuses in Indonesia. This study concludes that there are two out of six aspects of learning outcomes that shows the significant difference between the assessment of male and female students: usefulness and course content. These results confirm that there are still gaps between male and female students about the learning outcomes.

Academic writing has become a necessary activity in the higher education institution (HEI). Although various supporting academic writing tools are widely available, they are not fully utilized by the HEI’s academic community. The purpose of this study is to present the current understanding of the awareness, perceptions, and preferences of the academic community at HEI on the use of a Bibliographic Management Software (BMS). The approach used in this study is a quantitative analysis using a questionnaire. A total of 144 academic community from various HEI in Indonesia were involved in this research. This study’s findings indicate that the awareness of the academic community in Indonesia regarding BMS is still low. Their ignorance of the existence of BMS affects their awareness of the use of BMS. However, most of the academic community showed a preference to continue using BMS when they found the benefit of using BMS. This study can be useful for HEI management to promote BMS to their academic community and for BMS service providers to increase promotion and service satisfaction.

The industrial revolution 4.0 increases the level of awareness of various groups of people in using digital payment services. This study investigates the student awareness of digital payment services in the higher education level in Indonesia. The main contribution of this research is to provide evidence about the relationship between demographic variables and the level of awareness of digital payment services among students in Indonesia. This study is based on a sample of 104 students from various higher education institutions in Indonesia. The results of this study concluded that there was no significant difference between Indonesia student demographics and the level of awareness of digital payment services. The findings of this study will be useful for digital payment service providers in providing an initial understanding of student awareness of digital payment services in Indonesia.

The virtual classroom continues to grow, but it is becoming more and more the norm, and it is fundamentally different from the vocational students at the Indonesian university. With the promised benefits of the virtual classroom, many challenges and difficulties come in the implementation. Although there are already successful design principles for virtual classrooms that support organizations in overcoming the challenges, the approach to implementing the design principles of virtual classroom at the vocational higher education in Indonesia is still lacking. In this study, we aim to answer the research gap and used the design sciences research by interviewing the lecturers to design the solutions. The proposed design approaches were implemented in a course and evaluated with students from two different groups. Overall, the evaluation of the proposed approaches shows 1 significant results as an indicator of the benefits of the implementation of a virtual classroom for vocational students in Indonesia. peerReviewed

Globally distributed groups require collaborative systems to support their work. Besides being able to support the teamwork, these systems also should promote well-being and maximize the human potential that leads to an engaging system and joyful experience. Designing such system is a significant challenge and requires a thorough understanding of group work. We used the field theory as a lens to view the essential aspects of group motivation and then utilized collaboration personas to analyze the elements of group work. We integrated well-being determinants as engagement factors to develop a group-centered framework for digital collaboration in a global setting. Globalization and information technology enable people to join the movement of global citizenship and work without borders. However, different type of barriers existed that could affect collaboration in todays work environment, in which different generations are involved. Although researchers have identified several technical barriers to intergenerational collaboration (iGOAL), the influence of cultural diversity on iGOAL has rarely been studied. Therefore, using a quantitative study approach, this paper investigates the impact of differences in cultural background on perceived technical and operational barriers to iGOAL. Our study reveals six barriers to IGC that are perceived differently by culturally diverse people (CDP) and non-CDP. Blended learning offers learning solutions for higher educational institutions facing the industrial revolution 4.0. In this study, we investigated the influence factors student perceptions of blended learning based on gender-specific differences in Indonesia. We applied a research model to systematically assess the effect of design features on the effectiveness of blended learning indicators (intrinsic motivation and student satisfaction). Moreover, we evaluated the research model for both genders separately. Based on the quantitative survey of 223 Indonesian students, our study confirms that the design features significantly influence the effectiveness of blended learning for male and female students. peerReviewed

The main component of the entire strategy in Service Level Management (SLM) as a service provider is shown by implementing the Service Level Agreement (SLA). The service provider has to always guarantee that SLA which is indeed determined for a customer is achieved and fulfilled. The thing causing a failure in fulfilment of SLA is the expectation of business that is categorized in high indication while SLA establishment is still in progress, so it is indicated that there is a difference of perception between business and IT paradigm. The aim of this study is to build a framework to facilitate the achievement of a balance between the expected quality for the customer as the receiver party and the service which is offered by a service provider. The methodology which is applied in this study is by using an approach of informationengineering that consists of planning the analysis of related vision, planning of the technology effect, analysis of critical success factor, analysis of problem and purpose, as well as the identification of business area. In digital transformation, modernization IT risk universe plays a major role in planning an effective IT audit program. This paper describes a new requirement in IT audit practices and suggests an IT risk universe framework for the development of IT risk universe toward a more modern (digital transformation setting). This paper concludes with research prospects that can support and intensify research for modernizing IT risk universe in modern IT audit.

Today, IT audit become one of the top two topics that discussed amongst internal auditor professionals and has grown to become an important issue for modern organizations. IT audit concepts have changed over time, although significant changes have been made in early 2000, toward modern IT audit. This paper examines current issues in IT audit. The motivation was to identify the current trends and issues in IT audit. This paper reviews the literature on IT audit that published during the period 2008–2017. The literature review identified 46 papers that presented an issue in IT audit practices. The study results suggest that the current issues in IT audit can be classified into 5 main issues, there are benefits of IT audit, IT audit guidance, IT audit object, IT audit process, and issue of IT auditor. This paper has presented how these issues emerged during the past 10 years, along with the development trends. This study results can be used by researchers to conduct further research in the field of modern IT audit. This paper also presents the research directions based on the 5 main issues.

In the era of e-learning, assessing student acceptance of virtual classroom technology is becoming increasingly important. This paper describes findings from a study of the acceptance of virtual classroom on Telkom University students, especially in D3 Informatics Management. Students from three different class were surveyed to capture their perceptions regarding their current virtual classroom systems. The assessment framework is based on UTAUT dimensions: performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating condition, which consists of 14 variables. The conclusion of the study is that the use of the virtual classroom has had accepted on their learning activity, but with different levels of acceptance. This paper provides information that will be of interest to universities that are developing e-learning.

Saat ini jumlah data di media sosial sudah terbilang sangat besar, namun jumlah data tersebut masih belum banyak dimanfaatkan atau diolah untuk menjadi sesuatu yang bernilai guna, salah satunya adalah tweets pada media sosial twitter. Paper ini menguraikan hasil penggunaan engine web crawel menggunakan metode pre-processing text mining. Penggunaan engine web crawel itu sendiri bertujuan untuk menghimpun tweets melalui API twitter sebagai data teks tidak terstruktur yang kemudian direpresentasikan kembali kedalam bentuk web. Sedangkan penggunaan metode pre-processing bertujuan untuk menyaring tweets melalui tiga tahap, yaitu cleansing, case folding, dan parsing. Aplikasi yang dirancang pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengembangan perangkat lunak yaitu model waterfall dan diimplementasikan dengan bahasa pemrograman PHP. Sedangkan untuk pengujiannya menggunakan black box testing untuk memeriksa apakah hasil perancangan sudah dapat berjalan sesuai dengan harapan atau belum. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah berupa aplikasi yang dapat mengubah tweets yang telah dihimpun menjadi data yang siap diolah lebih lanjut sesuai dengan kebutuhan user berdasarkan kata kunci dan tanggal pencarian. Hal ini dilakukan karena dari beberapa penelitian terkait terlihat bahwa data pada media sosial khususnya twitter saat ini menjadi tujuan perusahaan atau instansi untuk memahami opini masyarakat.

Sentiment analysis is the process of understanding, extracting, and processing the textual data automatically to obtain information. Sentiment analysis can be used to see opinion on an issue and identify a response to something. Millions of digital data are still not used to be able to provide any information that has usefulness, especially for government. Sentiment analysis in government is used to monitor the work programs of the government such as the Government of Bandung City through social media data. The analysis can be used quickly as a tool to see the public response to the work programs, so the next strategic steps can be taken. This paper adopts Support Vector Machine as a supervised algorithm for sentiment analysis. It presents a framework for sentiment analysis implementation of Indonesian language tweet on twitter for Work Programs of Government of Bandung City. The results of this paper can be a reference for decision making in local government.
