Public repository for Software Product Line Scoping: A Systematic Literature Review This work is part of a project developed within the Laboratory of Empirical Studies in Software Engineering (http://lesse.com.br/) Abstract: Software product line (SPL) scoping aids companies to define the boundaries of their products. As scoping guides the management of the resources in SPL development, it becomes one of the core activities in this process. One may find in the literature, several approaches on this topic, proposing techniques and methodologies to be applicable in different organizational scenarios. Due to the importance of such approaches, there is a need for an update in the state of the art in this field. In this context, we look into identifying, analyzing, and extracting important information from SPL scoping proposals found in the literature. This important information includes similarities and differences among these approaches as well as scoping concepts and research opportunities. Thus, we conducted a systematic literature review (SLR) alongside snowballing, following a well-defined protocol to retrieve, classify and extract information from the literature. We analyzed a total of 58 studies, identifying 41 different approaches in the field, highlighting their similarities and differences, and establishing a generic scoping process. Furthermore, research opportunities in the SPL scoping field are discussed. This SLR was conducted using the Thoth tool (http://lesse.com.br/tools/thoth/).

Methods: Flat dentin surfaces were produced in 64 extracted sound human molars. The dentin was etched with 35% phosphoric acid for 15 seconds, and then the teeth were divided into groups according to the cross-linking solution applied on the etched dentin. Group 1: 5% grape seed extract (GSE), Group 2: 5% glutaraldehyde, Group 3: Gluma Desensitizer, or Group 4: deionized water (control). Solutions were applied for 60 seconds, followed by rinse and blot drying. Then, the teeth were separated into two subgroups where the etched dentin was kept moist or air-dried. The adhesive was applied followed by a composite resin buildup. After 24 hours, the teeth were cut into beams (0.81 mm(2)) that were tested for microtensile strength immediately or after 12 months of aging in a 37 degrees C saliva-like buffer. Additional teeth ( n=32) were bonded as described and cut into 0.5-mm-thick slabs. The slabs were prepared for nanoleakage (scanning electron microscopy) and in situ zymography (EnzChek Protease Assay Kit). Bond strength data were submitted to ANOVA and Tukey tests (alpha=0.05). Results: Significant reduction in immediate bond strength (Ca 65%) and increase in proteolytic activity was seen when the etched dentin was air dried without previous cross-linking biomodification. Conversely, bond strengths did not differ from those produced on wet dentin when collagen was cross-linked before air drying, irrespective of the solution applied. For both moist and air-dried etched dentin, collagen cross-linking resulted in mechanically stable bonds and reduced proteolytic activity after 12 months of storage. Conclusion: Bonds produced by the application of a two-step, etch-and-rinse adhesive to cross-linked, air-dried, etched dentin were mechanically stable and revealed reduced proteolytic activity after 1 year of aging. Planning efficient public transport is a key issue in modern cities. When planning a route for a bus or a line for a tram or subway, it is necessary to consider people's demand for this service. In this work we present a method to use existing crowdsourced data (like Waze and OpenStreetMap) and cloud services (like Google Maps) to support a transportation network decision making process. The method is based on the Dempster-Shafer Theory to model transportation demand. It uses data from Waze to provide a congestion probability and data from OpenStreetMap to provide information about location of facilities such as shops, in order to predict where people may need to start or end their trips using public transportation vehicles. The paper also presents an example using this method with real data. The example shows an analysis of the current availability of public transportation stops in order to discover its weak points.

Hydro-geomorphic connectivity has significantly emerged as a new concept to understand the transfer of surface water and sediment through landscapes. A further scientific challenge is determining how the concept can be used to enable sustainable land and water management. This research proposes an interesting approach to integrating remote sensing techniques, connectivity theory, and geomorphometry based on high-resolution digital terrain model (HR-DTMs) to automatically extract landslides crowns and gully erosion, to determine the different rate of connectivity among the main extracted features and the river network, and thus determine a possible categorization of hazardous areas. The study takes place in two mountainous regions in the Wellington Region (New Zealand). The methodology is a three step approach. Firstly, we performed an automatic detection of the likely landslides crowns through the use of thresholds obtained by the statistical analysis of the variability of landform curvature. After that, the research considered the Connectivity Index to analyse how a complex and rugged topography induces large variations in erosion and sediment delivery in the two catchments. Lastly, the two methods have been integrated to create a unique procedure able to classify the different rate of connectivity among the main features and the river network and thus identifying potential threats and hazardous areas. The methodology is fast, and it can produce a detailed and updated inventory map that could be a key tool for erosional and sediment delivery hazard mitigation. This fast and simple method can be a useful tool to manage emergencies giving priorities to more failure-prone zones. Furthermore, it could be considered to do a preliminary interpretations of geomorphological phenomena and more in general, it could be the base to develop inventory maps. Background: To assess Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) incidence we relied on the Italian Network for the study of GBS (ITANG) established in 2010 in 7 Italian regions to analyse the association between influenza vaccination and GBS. Methods: All individuals aged ≥18 years, presenting with clinical manifestations that suggested GBS according to the universally accepted Asbury's diagnostic criteria (1990) were prospectively notified to a centralised database by ITANG neurologists over the period October 1, 2010-September 30, 2011. Through a telephone survey, 9 trained interviewers followed up the cases to diagnosis and then for 1 year since hospital discharge. Validation of case reporting was performed with the support of administrative data in 5 regions. Results: We found 365 cases fulfilling the definition for GBS or one of its variants over 19,846,068 population ≥18 years of age, yielding an annual incidence rate of 1.84 per 100,000 (95% CI 1.65-2.03), 2.30 (95% CI 1.99-2.60) in men and 1.41 (95% CI 1.18-1.64) in women. A highly significant peak of incidence was observed in February 2011 as compared to reference month (September 2011, rate ratio 3.3:1, p < 0.01). Conclusions: In Italy, GBS incidence was among the highest reported in Europe and higher than previously observed in Italian studies.

International audience; Consumers try to avoid temptation when exposed to appetizing foods by diverting their attention away from their senses (e.g., sight, smell, mouthfeel) and bodily states (e.g., state of arousal, salivation) in order to focus on their longer term goals (e.g., eating healthily, achieving an ideal body weight). However, when not including sensations in their decision‐making processes, consumers risk depleting their self‐regulatory resources, potentially leading to unhealthy food choices. Conversely, based on the concept of “embodied self‐regulation,” the suggestion is made that considering bodily states may help consumers regulate their food choices more effectively. A new model is proposed that facilitates understanding observed consumer behavior and the success or failure of self‐control in food intake. It is argued that bodily states and sensory information should be considered when modeling consumer behavior and developing health‐related advocacy and communication campaigns. The model proposed here leads to new perspectives on consumer consumption behavior and health policy research and strategies.

The objective of the study was to assess the relative competitive ability of canola hybrids in the presence of turnip (Raphanus sativus) and ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) in different ratios of plants in the mixture. The experiments were conducted in a greenhouse, in a completely randomized design with four replications. Treatments were arranged in ratios of canola against turnip or ryegrass: 100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75 and 0:100. Competitive analysis of the species was accomplished by means of diagrams usually applied to replacement series and also by the relative competitiveness indices. Fifty days after the emergence of the species, measurements of leaf area and shoot dry mass were performed. There was a competition between canola hybrids and weeds, with reduction for all variables. There was a differential competitive ability among canola hybrids in the presence of turnip and/or ryegrass. Canola hybrid Hyola 433 was more competitive in the presence of turnip than Hyola 61, 76 and 571 CL. Hyola 61, 76, 433 and 571 CL do not differ in terms of competition ability when growing with ryegrass. RESUMOObjetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar a habilidade competitiva relativa de híbridos de canola na presença de biótipos de nabo (Raphanus sativus) e de azevém (Lolium multiflorum), em diferentes proporções de plantas na associação. Os experimentos foram instalados em casa de vegetação, no delineamento experimental completamente casualizado com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos foram arranjados em proporções de plantas de canola, nabo e/ou de azevém: 100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75 e 0:100. A análise da competitividade das espécies foi efetuada por meio de diagramas aplicados a experimentos substitutivos e também pelos índices de competitividade relativa. Aos 50 dias após a emergência das espécies, efetuou-se a aferição da área foliar e da massa seca da parte aérea das plantas. Ocorreu competição entre os híbridos de canola e as plantas daninhas, provocando reduções das variáveis avaliadas. Foi observada diferenciação de habilidade competitiva entre os híbridos de canola quando na presença do nabo e/ou do azevém. O híbrido de canola Hyola 433 foi mais competitivo na presença do nabo em relação a Hyola 61, Hyola 76 e Hyola 571 CL. Os híbridos de canola Hyola 61, Hyola 76, Hyola 433 e Hyola 571 CL não demonstraram diferenciação na competição ao serem associados com o azevém.

Thirty Santa Ines x Dorper crossbred intact males lambs weighing 20.4 +/- 3.8 kg were blocked by weight into 10 groups. Lambs in each group were randomly assigned to 1 of the following 3 dietary treatments: untreated (Control), LB, and LBLP silage. Lambs were fed experimental diets for 61 d. The apparent digestibility was indirectly estimated from indigestible NDF measured on d 57 to 59. Spot urine samples were collected from all animals on d 59 to estimate microbial protein synthesis. Lambs were slaughtered for carcass evaluation on d 61 when they weighed 32.4 +/- 5.2 kg. Six additional ruminally cannulated Santa Ines x Dorper crossbred wethers weighing 40.5 +/- 1.8 kg were used to examine dietary effects on ruminal fermentation. Average daily gain was increased when lambs were fed LBLP silage (P < 0.05) but not LB silage. The LBLP silage had the highest (P < 0.05) lactic acid concentration and both inoculated silages had greater acetic acid concentrations than the Control silage (P < 0.05). Inoculation of corn silage increased intakes of DM, OM, CP, NDF, total carbohydrate (CHO), and GE by the lambs but decreased digestibility of DM, OM, CP, total and nonstructural carbohydrates, and concentration of GE and ME. (P < 0.05). Nevertheless, lambs fed inoculated silages had greater microbial N supply than those on the Control treatment (P < 0.05). The acetate to propionate ratio was lower in ruminal fluid of wethers in LBLP treatment than LB and Control treatment (P < 0.05) and ruminal pH tended to be greater in LB lambs than in LBLP and Control wethers (P < 0.10). Finally, the inoculation with both bacteria combined enhanced the silage fermentation. The intakes of DM, OM, CP, NDF, and GE were improved in the lambs fed corn silage inoculated with L. buchneri alone or combined with L. plantarum. The microbial N supply was enhanced in the lambs fed corn silage inoculated with L. buchneri. The inoculation of L. buchneri combined with L. plantarum reduced the acetate to propionate ratio in ruminal fluid and improved the ADG of lambs. OBJECTIVE The prevalence of neuropathy, a common complication of diabetes, was determined in diabetic patients recruited from 109 outpatient diabetes clinics in Italy. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS Neuropathy was diagnosed using the Diabetic Neuropathy Index (DNI), a standardized examination developed for use in the outpatient setting. A total of 8,757 diabetic patients were studied, 51.2% men and 48.8% women, with average and median ages of 56 and 58 years, respectively. RESULTS Of the 8,757 patients, 32.3% had neuropathy, defined as a positive score of > 2 points on the DNI. A total of 2,033 (49.6% men and 50.4% women) were administered the Diabetic Neuropathy Score (DNS), the second component of the screening program, by a neurologist. This component consists of a quantitative neurological examination and nerve conduction studies that together provide a summated score. A total of 335 patients (16.5%) were not neuropathic, and 395 (19.4%) had borderline, 453 (22.3%) mild, 592 (29.1%) moderate, and 258 (12.7%) severe neuropathy. The concordance between a positive score on the DNI and a DNS indicating neuropathy was 83.5%. The severity of neuropathy increased with both age and disease duration. Of patients with neuropathy, 64.1% had an average age between 58 and 59 years with a disease duration between 12.4 ± 8.4 years (mild neuropathy) and 15.6 ± 9.7 years (severe neuropathy). CONCLUSIONS Neuropathy is a common complication of diabetes and, in this study, was present in 32.3% of all patients. An increased awareness of the high prevalence of neuropathy can lead to early therapeutic intervention and possible prevention of later neuropathic complications, such as infection and foot ulcers.

A Embrapa é uma empresa pública. O que isso quer dizer? Em primeiro lugar, que é uma instituição mantida, predominantemente, com recursos públicos, eventualmente apoiada por recursos privados, mediante contratos de cooperação técnica. Em segundo lugar, ser uma empresa pública significa ter um foco constante na relação com a sociedade. Recursos públicos são preciosos e devem ser utilizados a serviço da sociedade. E para que isto aconteça, cabe à Embrapa, da mesma forma que aos demais órgãos públicos, saber ouvir a sociedade, nos seus diversos segmentos. E como isto acontece?

Neste início de terceiro milênio, não há dúvida que uma das metas obrigatórias de qualquer empresa (e também uma das bandeiras que constroem sua imagem) é a sustentabilidade. E isto não acontece por acaso: depois de muitos anos atacando-se frontalmente a natureza, e após começarem-se a sentir os efeitos da intervenção equivocada do homem sobre o ambiente, foi necessário mudar de rumo. Para bem de todos nós e, em especial, do ambiente, a situação mudou e hoje vemos que a sustentabilidade (a atitude que permite garantir às gerações futuras terem um ambiente melhor do que o que recebemos) está presente no dia a dia das empresas.
