Abstract

The Spin Physics Detector collaboration proposes to install a universal detector in the second interaction point of the NICA collider under construction (JINR, Dubna) to study the spin structure of the proton and deuteron and other spin-related phenomena using a unique possibility to operate with polarized proton and deuteron beams at a collision energy up to 27 GeV and a luminosity up to $10^{32}$ cm$^{-2}$ s$^{-1}$. As the main goal, the experiment aims to provide access to the gluon TMD PDFs in the proton and deuteron, as well as the gluon transversity distribution and tensor PDFs in the deuteron, via the measurement of specific single and double spin asymmetries using different complementary probes such as charmonia, open charm, and prompt photon production processes. Other polarized and unpolarized physics is possible, especially at the first stage of NICA operation with reduced luminosity and collision energy of the proton and ion beams. This document is dedicated exclusively to technical issues of the SPD setup construction.

Abstract

We consider similarity transformations of a perturbed linear operator $A-B$ in a complex Banach space $\mathcal{X}$, where the unperturbed operator $A$ is a generator of a Banach $L_1(\mathbb{R})$-module and the perturbation operator $B$ is a bounded linear operator. The result of the transformation is a simpler operator $A-B_0$. For example, if $A$ is a differentiation operator and $B$ is an operator of multiplication by an operator-valued function, then $B_0$ is an operator of multiplication by a function that is a restriction of an entire function of exponential type and could be $0$ in some cases. As a consequence, we derive the spectral invariance of the operator $A-B$ in a large class of spaces. The study is based on a widely applicable modification of the method of similar operators that is also presented in the paper. This non-traditional modification is rooted in the spectral theory of Banach $L_1(\mathbb{R})$-modules.

4. ON THE ALMOST PERIODIC AT INFINITY FUNCTIONS FROM HOMOGENEOUS SPACES

Abstract

We consider homogeneous spaces of functions defined on the real axis (or semi-axis) with values in a complex Banach space. We study the new class of almost periodic at infinity functions from homogeneous spaces. The main results of the article are connected to harmonic analysis of those functions. We give four definitions of an almost periodic at infinity function from a homogeneous space and prove them to be equivalent. We also introduce the concept of a Fourier series with slowly varying at infinity coefficients (neither necessarily constant nor necessarily having a limit at infinity). It is proved that the Fourier coefficients of almost periodic at infinity function from a homogeneous space (not necessarily continuous) can be chosen continuous. Moreover, they can be extended on C to bounded entire functions of exponential type. Besides, we prove the summability of Fourier series by the method of Bochner-Fejer. The results were received with essential use of isometric representations and Banach modules theory.

8. Recommendations for the search of the Anomalous Wtb interactions in the tW-associated Single Top Quark Production

Abstract

There are no experimental bounds for the anomalous Wtb couplings provided in the tW-associated single top quark production in the final signature with lepton plus jets so far. The main reason for the situation is the difficulties with the modeling of such a process. Different schemes of the tW-associated single top quark production modeling have different sensitivity to the anomalous Wtb couplings and prospective their constraints are strongly scheme-dependent. The most preferable is the usage of the full gauge-invariant set of the diagrams. However one needs to discriminate the different phase space regions in this case anyway. In the article the separation between top pair and tW-associated single top quark production processes with the help of Neural Network technique is presented. The full scheme with the complete gauge invariant set of Feynman diagrams is used.

Abstract

In the framework of stabilized brane-world models we consider the contribution of the W′ boson and the rest of the W boson KK tower to the Higgs boson decay to two photons and to the single top production process. Comparing the signal strengths calculated in this approach with the experimental ones obtained at the LHC and taking into account the expected improvements at future high luminosity HL-LHC, high energy HE-LHC, and FCC-hh projects, we get predictions for the limits on the W' boson mass depending on its coupling to SM fermions.

Abstract

The impact of anomalous Wtb couplings on tWb process of the single top quark production has been tested in different schemes of tWb modeling. The scenario with right-handed vector operator (RV) in Wtb vertex with and without the presence of Standard model (SM) left-handed vector operator in Wtb vertex has been considered. It is shown that for anomalous Wtb couplings searches in tWb process usage of the full gauge invariant set of diagrams, with the same final state for the pair top quark production as well as for the single top quark production, is more justified than the usage of the schemes with deletion of some part of diagrams.

Abstract

Top quark width measurement is important and complex task. Most measurements are done in assumption of the SM top quark interactions. We would like to discuss model independent way of measuring the top quark width. Experimental accuracies of the top quark fiducial cross section measurements from 2% to 10% may allow to put constrains on the top quark width with 6% to 29% precision.

Abstract

The Nuclotron-base Ion Collider fAcility (NICA) is under construction at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), with commissioning of the facility expected in late 2022. The Multi-Purpose Detector (MPD) has been designed to operate at NICA and its components are currently in production. The detector is expected to be ready for data taking with the first beams from NICA. This document provides an overview of the landscape of the investigation of the QCD phase diagram in the region of maximum baryonic density, where NICA and MPD will be able to provide significant and unique input. It also provides a detailed description of the MPD set-up, including its various subsystems as well as its support and computing infrastructures. Abstract

Aim. The primary aim of this study was to evaluate the pharmacokinetic parameters and confirm the bioequivalence of drugs containing gidazepam, namely Gidazepam® (Valenta Pharm, Russia) and Gidazepam VIC (VIVA Pharm, Republic of Kazakhstan), after a single administration of 1 tablet (50 mg) to healthy volunteers under fasting conditions. The secondary aim was a comparative analysis of safety profiles (adverse events) after a single administration of the studied drugs.Materials and methods. An open, randomized, crossover, two-period comparative study of pharmacokinetics and bioequivalence with adaptive design was conducted in healthy volunteers. Blood sampling was performed 15 minutes before and 20 min, 40 min, 1 h, 2 h, 3 h, 3.5 h, 4 h, 4.5 h, 5 h, 6 h, 8 h, 12 h, 24 h, 48 h, and 72 h after drug administration. High-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry was used for the evaluation of gidazepam and its metabolite (desalkylgidazepam) concentration with the subsequent calculation of pharmacokinetic parameters.Results. From both formulations, gidazepam was quickly absorbed and biotransformed into an active metabolite. Studied drugs had similar pharmacokinetic profiles, as 90% confidence intervals for the ratio of geometric means for Cmax and AUC(0-72) were within the bioequivalence acceptance range of 80.00–125.00 %. No adverse events were recorded as a result of clinical, laboratory or instrument evaluations during the study.Conclusion. Study drugs are considered bioequivalent and show comparable tolerability after a single administration under fasting conditions.

Abstract

Introduction. Uterine artery embolization (UAE) is an effective minimally invasive manipulation that has been widely applied in obstetric and gynecological practice. The expediency of using this method of surgical treatment in patients with reproductive plans is still controversial. The main clinicians' concerns are the risk of developing local endometrial ischemia able to lead to habitual miscarriage, premature birth and pathological placentation as well as decreased ovarian reserve due to impaired adequate ovarian blood supply.Aim: to analyze the literature data regarding UAE effect on reproductive function.Materials and Methods. The search for literature was carried out in databases Web of Science, eLibrary, Scopus, PubMed/MEDLINE. We selected articles for the years 1995–2023 devoted to assessing UAE influence on reproductive function. The articles were searched by the keywords "embolization", "uterine arteries", "reproductive function", "prognosis", "assessment". No methodological filter was used to exclude the omission of suitable articles. The study included full-text sources and literary reviews on the subject under study. Articles that are not directly related to the subject UAE were excluded from the review. In order to avoid the inclusion of duplicate publications if two same author studies were found, the study period of each author was assessed, and if publication dates coincided, the most recent publication was selected.Results. Based on the review of domestic and foreign literature sources over recent years, it can be concluded that there are restrictions on the frequency and outcomes of pregnancy in such cohort of patients who underwent UAE. Many patients included in existing studies and case reports have variable factors complicating direct analysis or comparison such as age of patients, previous spontaneous abortions, previous uterine surgery, different techniques and professional training of X-ray endovascular surgeons, uncertainty of a woman regarding further reproductive plans and other forms of infertility, which can also distort research results. In addition, the most well-controlled studies often have small patients sample sizes not allowing to obtain meaningful clinical information from thereof.Conclusion. Pregnancy is possible in women after UAE, and many of these pregnancies proceed without complications and lead to successful childbirth. The actual fertility rate after UAE remains uncertain, but is approaching 38.3 % based on the available published results.

Abstract

The transmission of prions across species is a critical aspect of their dissemination among mammalian hosts, including humans. This process often necessitates strain adaptation. In this study, we sought to investigate the mechanisms underlying prion adaptation while mitigating biases associated with the history of cross-species transmission of natural prion strains. To achieve this, we utilized the synthetic hamster prion strain S05. Propagation of S05 using mouse PrPC in Protein Misfolding Cyclic Amplification did not immediately overcome the species barrier. This finding underscores the involvement of factors beyond disparities in primary protein structures. Subsequently, we performed five serial passages to stabilize the incubation time to disease in mice. The levels of PrPSc increased with each passage, reaching a maximum at the third passage, and declining thereafter. This suggests that only the initial stage of adaptation is primarily driven by an acceleration in PrPSc replication. During the protracted adaptation to a new host, we observed significant alterations in the glycoform ratio and sialylation status of PrPSc N-glycans. These changes support the notion that qualitative modifications in PrPSc contribute to a more rapid disease progression. Furthermore, consistent with the decline in sialylation, a cue for “eat me” signaling, the newly adapted strain exhibited preferential colocalization with microglia. In contrast to PrPSc dynamics, the intensity of microglia activation continued to increase after the third passage in the new host. In summary, our study elucidates that the adaptation of a prion strain to a new host is a multi-step process driven by several factors.

Abstract

We report on the structural phase transitions in the S doped FeSe superconductor by powder synchrotron X ray diffraction at high pressures up to 18.5 GPa under compression and decompression modes. In order to create high quasi hydrostatic pressures, diamond anvil cells filled with helium as a pressure transmitting medium were used. It was found that at ambient pressure and room temperature, S doped FeSe has a tetragonal structure. Under compression, in the region of 10 GPa, a phase transition from the tetragonal into the orthorhombic structure is observed, which persists up to 18.5 GPa. Our results strongly suggest that, at decompression, as the applied pressure decreases to 6 GPa and then is completely removed, most of the sample recrystallizes into the hexagonal phase of the structural type NiAs. However, the other part of the sample remains in the high pressure orthorhombic phase, while the tetragonal phase is not restored. These observations illustrate a strong hysteresis of the structural properties of S doped FeSe during a phase transition under pressure., Comment: 13 pages, 10 figures

We describe a closed operator functional calculus in Banach modules over the group algebra $L^1(\mathbb R)$ and illustrate its usefulness with a few applications. In particular, we deduce a spectral mapping theorem for operators in the functional calculus, which generalizes some of the known results. We also obtain an estimate for the spectrum of a perturbed differential operator in a certain class.

Abstract

Polytetrafluoroethylene/cellulose composite aerogels containing PTFE from 0 to 40 wt.% were obtained by drying the corresponding suspension mixtures at a temperature of 50[degrees]C. Cellulose isolated from the stem of Sosnowski hogweed was used as the main component of the aerogels. In present work, the composite aerogels were heated in an inert atmosphere at a temperature of 370[degrees]C to partially hydrophobize cellulose and remove surfactants that were present in the initial PTFE suspension. It was found that at this temperature, the thermal degradation of cellulose proceeded differently in the presence and absence of PTFE. The maximum water contact angle (1560) was obtained for the sample with 10 wt.% PTFE. Hydrophobized samples of aerogels were studied with the help of infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and powder x-ray diffractometry and tested as sorbents for various solvents. It was found that the volume of solvent absorbed by the aerogel, in the case of a sample with a PTFE content of 40 wt.%, can even exceed the initial volume of the absorber. Abstract

The paper proposes an original methodology for constructing quantitative statistical models based on multidimensional distribution functions constructed on the basis of the insurance companies' data on inshurance policies (including policies with deductible) and claims incurred. Real data of some Russian insurance companies on non-life insurance contracts illustrate some opportunities of the proposed approach. The point and interval estimates of net premium, claims frequency, claims reserves including IBNR and OCR, are thus obtained. The resulting estimate of claims reserves falls in the range of reasonable estimates calculated on the basis of traditional reserving methods (the chain-ladder method, the frequency-severity method and the Bornhuetter-Ferguson method). The proposed methodology is based on additive estimates of a company's financial indicators, in the sense that they are calculated as a sum of estimates built separately for each element of the sample (claim). This allows using the proposed methodology to model insurance companies' financial flows and, in particular, to solve the problems of reserve redistribution between particular segments of insurance portfolio and/or time intervals; to adjust risk as part of financial reporting under IAS 17 Insurance Contracts; and to deal with many other tasks. The accuracy of insurance companies' financial parameters estimate based on the proposed methods was tested by statistical modeling. IBNR was used as the test parameter. Abstract

Purpose: to evaluate the effectiveness of approaches to tear substitution in dry eye syndrome (DES) patients before cataract phacoemulsification (CPE). Material and methods. 60 DES and cataract patients who received preoperative therapy — tear substitute instillations (4 times a day, 1 month), were examined before CPE. They were divided into 2 groups each of which was subdivided into two subgroups. Group 1 included 30 mild DES patients with lipid deficiency who had a negative lipid interference test, meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), and aqua deficiency absence (Schirmer-1 test > 15 mm). The subgroup 1.1 (15 patients) received 0.18 % sodium hyaluronate (SH) instillations (Gilan comfort), while the other subgroup 1.2 received “fat-water” type emulsion instillations. Group 2 consisted of 30 moderate DES patients with lipid-aqua deficiency, who also had negative lipid interference test, MGD, and aqua deficiency presence. Subgroup 2.1 (15 patients) received 0.3 % sodium hyaluronate (SH) instillations (Gilan ultra comfort), while subgroup 2.2 patients received “fat-water” type emulsion instillations. We evaluated: the OSDI points, and tear break-up time (TBUT). Results. As a result of therapy, a positive effect of the therapy on OSDI and TBUT was observed in all subgroups. In group 1 , OSDI decrease and TBUT increase were more pronounced in subgroup 1.1 patients, however, this difference between subgroups was not statistically significant. In group 2, OSDI decrease and TBUT increase were more pronounced and statistically significant in subgroup 2.1 patients. Conclusion. In patients with mild DES and lipid deficiency, 0.18 % SH (Gilan comfort) demonstrated a positive effect on OSDI and TBUT comparable to the “fat-water” type emulsion. In moderate DES patients with lipid-aqua deficiency, 0.3 % SH (Gilan ultra comfort) demonstrated a statistically significant and more pronounced positive effect on OSDI and TBUT than the “fat-water” type emulsion.

Abstract

Introduction. To develop new system modules of software to help employees with disabilities, it is required to work out an architectural solution for the interaction of all parts of the system. As a result of the analysis and design, it is necessary to obtain a software architecture that must meet a number of standard requirements. First of all, it should be safe. To do this, you should take into account the error logging system, event auditing, the possibility of disabling the functionality immediately after putting it into commercial operation, internal mechanisms for validating client input requests and server responses. This study is aimed at the development of basic system maintenance options, the analysis of exception cases under interacting with the user for further evaluation of the architecture efficiency, and the direct project development. Materials and Methods. The architectural decision was carried out using the Unified Modeling Language (UML), which helps to build visual images of the life cycle and interaction of all components of the system. The syntax of the UML deployment diagram was used to study the interaction of the main modules of the future system, and the syntax of the UML sequence diagram was used to process the lifecycle. A use case diagram was also applied to describe the main use cases. To study the interaction of the main modules of the future system, the UML deployment diagram syntax was used. For life cycle processing, the UML sequence diagram syntax was applied. In addition, a use case diagram was applied to describe the base use cases. Results. An architecture that has a scheme for the interaction of individual modules and systems, as well as options for using the software package for the future implementation of the software product, has been developed. The proposed system architecture meets the requirements of security, reliability (fault tolerance), and performance. The authors have fixed the functional requirements of the system of assistance to employees of enterprises with hearing problems for the possibility of their employment and work on the telecommunication Internet. Basic variations of system maintenance have been developed. Discussion and Conclusions. Building a competent architecture provides taking into account cases that go beyond the normal use of the system, and applying a fuzzy model to determine the system efficiency. Further in-depth description of deployment and operation options will enable to implement an efficient and productive system.

Abstract The article presents results of a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial on the efficacy and safety of inosine glycylcysteinyl-glutamate disodium (Molixan®) in the treatment of acute severe ethanol poisoning.The aim of the study To evaluate the efficacy and safety of inosine glycyl-cysteinyl-glutamate disodium in a new dosage regimen in the treatment of severe ethanol poisoning.Material and Methods The material of the study is the data of 133 patients with severe ethanol poisoning. Inclusion criteria: age from 18 to 60 years, 1–2 coma stage (Glasgow-Pittsburgh coma scale of 14–27), ethanol in the blood of more than 2.5%. The patients were randomized into 2 groups: the Study Drug group (SD group) — 67 patients who, in addition to the standard therapy, were injected with the study drug - inosine glycyl-cysteinyl-glutamate disodium in a dose of 3.0 mg/kg; and the Placebo group — 66 patients who, in addition to the standard therapy, were injected with 0.9% sodium chloride solution in a dose of 3.0 mg/kg. Abstract

Background: Impairment of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) is considered to be a common feature among neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and prion diseases. In prion disease, increased BBB permeability was reported 40 years ago, yet the mechanisms behind the loss of BBB integrity have never been explored. Recently, we showed that reactive astrocytes associated with prion diseases are neurotoxic. The current work examines the potential link between astrocyte reactivity and BBB breakdown. Results: In prion-infected mice, the loss of BBB integrity and aberrant localization of aquaporin 4 (AQP4), a sign of retraction of astrocytic endfeet from blood vessels, were noticeable prior to disease onset. Gaps in cell-to-cell junctions along blood vessels, together with downregulation of Occludin, Claudin-5 and VE-cadherin, which constitute tight and adherens junctions, suggested that loss of BBB integrity is linked with degeneration of vascular endothelial cells. In contrast to cells isolated from non-infected adult mice, endothelial cells originating from prion-infected mice displayed disease-associated changes, including lower levels of Occludin, Claudin-5 and VE-cadherin expression, impaired tight and adherens junctions, and reduced trans-endothelial electrical resistance (TEER). Endothelial cells isolated from non-infected mice, when co-cultured with reactive astrocytes isolated from prion-infected animals or treated with media conditioned by the reactive astrocytes, developed the disease-associated phenotype observed in the endothelial cells from prion-infected mice. Reactive astrocytes were found to produce high levels of secreted IL-6, and treatment of endothelial monolayers originating from non-infected animals with recombinant IL-6 alone reduced their TEER. Remarkably, treatment with extracellular vesicles produced by normal astrocytes partially reversed the disease phenotype of endothelial cells isolated from prion-infected animals. Conclusions: To our knowledge, the current work is the first to illustrate early BBB breakdown in prion disease and to document that reactive astrocytes associated with prion disease are detrimental to BBB integrity. Moreover, our findings suggest that the harmful effects are linked to proinflammatory factors secreted by reactive astrocytes.

Abstract

Screen shoes with three layout schemes of sieve arrangement were studied. There are separation and head screens installed in the upper tier in the first and third schemes, and in the lower one respectively there are two cleaning and two sorting screens, and in the latter between the tiers there is a rolling surface placed in the opposite direction of grain material movement. The second scheme involved the sequential installation of a sorting screen in the upper tier, and a cleaning and sorting screen in the lower tier. These schemes are used for preliminary, primary and secondary cleaning of grain material. The experimental studies made it possible to obtain the dependence graphs of the identified grain fractions on its supply to the beginning of the screen shoe, as well as the influence of grain supply on the quality indicators of winter wheat grain, such as the thousand-kernel weight of the main and forage fractions and the completeness of the fodder fraction extraction. The use of a screen shoe with a third layout scheme can provide seed cleaning with a supply of 0.38 kg/(s·m), commercial – with a supply of 1.05 kg/(s·m) and preliminary – with a supply of 3.94 kg/(s·m).

We find a similar operator to the Dirac operator that is an orthogonal direct sum of simpler operators. Abstract

Parameatal cysts are very rare in clinical practice due to their asymptomatic course. This article presents one such case. A 25-year-old male patient with a formed spherical cystic tumor measuring 0.7 cm in the area of the external opening of the urethra. Total resection of the cystic formation, suturing of the resulting imperfections was carried out. According to the results of histology, the cyst is formed by a flat and cylindrical epithelium. After 3 months of follow-up, good results were established without relapse and cosmetic appearance.
