Therefore, this sector needs to rely on updated information so that the intervening actors can deal with the problems. In this context, and assuming that professional training can greatly help those acting in the beekeeping sector, this work intended to investigate the gaps in the updated knowledge of beekeepers and how these can be filled through lifelong learning. The research was conducted in seven European countries (Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Italy, Norway, Portugal, and Spain). The data were collected through a questionnaire survey translated into the native languages of all participating countries. The results revealed that the topics of highest interest are apiary health and pest control and the management of the colonies throughout the year. The beekeepers update their knowledge through family, complemented by professional training, with participants preferring in-person courses as well as, in the workplace or in internships. The learning methodologies they consider most useful are project-based learning and learning through gamification. The videos and paper books or manuals are particularly valued as learning materials, and practical exercises are considered the most helpful assessment format. Finally, considering the effect of sociodemographic variables on the learning experiences and preferences of beekeeping actors, it was observed that the country was the most influential of the variables under study. In conclusion, this work revealed valuable information that should be used to design professional training actions to help the professionals in the beekeeping sector enhance their competencies and be better prepared to manage their activities successfully. info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion

The EU-DEMO reactor is supposed to undergo a pulsed duty cycle under normal conditions, which might challenge the qualified lifetime of the main equipment inducing undue thermal and mechanical cycling loads. Moreover, during power operation it is not possible to exclude the occurrence plasma overpower transients that might jeopardize the structural integrity of the plasma-facing components. In this context, the University of Palermo in cooperation with ENEA has launched a research campaign within the framework of the EUROfusion action to investigate the thermal-hydraulic behaviour of the Primary Heat Transport System (PHTS) of the EU-DEMO Divertor (DIV) Cassette Body (CB) during the typical DEMO duty cycle. The study was primarily intended to start the definition of the strategies to be followed to minimize thermal fluctuations due to the pulsed operation. In particular, the attention has been focussed on the assessment of the DIV CB PHTS temperature behaviour during the pulse-dwell transition so to check the potential effectiveness of a direct coolant temperature control by properly tuning the feedwater mass flow rate. The activity has been led following a computational approach based on the adoption of the TRACE thermal-hydraulic system code. Models, assumptions, and outcomes of the analyses are herewith reported and critically discussed.

In 2017, the Department of ���Civilt�� e Forme del Sapere��� of the University of Pisa carried out an archaeological campaign at the so-called Terme di Nerone, the only Roman building still partially standing in the urban area of Pisa. The main goal of this investigation was to solve some of the open questions about the chronology, the phases, the plan of the Baths, and the specific function of some of the rooms. Nevertheless, the excavation was a precious opportunity to investigate the transformations of an important sector of the town over the centuries. After their defunctionalization in the late antiquity, indeed, the building was occupied by a necropolis; in the medieval and modern age the ruins were occupied again, then they were almost completely demolished and subsequently rediscovered between the end of the nineteenth century and the 40s of the twentieth century. In this paper the stratigraphic sequence and phase maps of the Area 1 of the excavation is presented, accompanied by the complete archaeological record., ArcheoLogica Data, 1(1), 35-47 .
