Abstract

In this paper, we reported the synthesis of a novel series of (2-hydroxyphenyl)-5-phenyl-6-(pyrrolidine-1-carbonyl)-1H-pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine-2,4(3H,5H)-dione derivatives 5(a–j) by the reaction of 4-hydroxy coumarin, substituted aldehydes, barbituric acid, and pyrolidine in ethanol at ambient temperature. The titled pyranopyrimidines 5(a–j) were characterized by spectral analysis including IR, NMR (1H & 13C), and HRMS. The newly synthesized compounds were examined for in vitro anti-inflammatory activity. The results demonstrated that compound 5b displayed excellent efficacy and the remaining compounds exhibited moderate activity. Also, the potency of the new compounds toward antimicrobial and antifungal activity was investigated by a disk diffusion method. The results show that compounds 5b and 5g were more potent than the other compounds. Furthermore, the molecular docking studies were carried out using a COX-2 receptor.

Abstract

Hotel industries are one of the fastest developing areas in India, which is attracting more number of jobs & travellers. This also results in direct impact on Indian economy. All Hotels comprises a higher element of total working cost and they are the good source of income. To give a respectable hospitality in hotels to customers, we need to use different mechanisms in different departments. For example if we take segment of housekeeping it involves different subdivisions like Rooms, Corridors, Gardens, Toilets & Public areas etc. In this connection an implementation of TPM tools called quality maintenance, planned maintenance & focused improvement is implemented in kitchen section to optimize the energy usage by suggesting alternative fuel. Results showed a very significant improvement in energy & cost saving. It also points towards the dire need of suitable industrial tools in hotels. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is one of the revolutionary approaches and well suitable for any organization especially in Hotels to improve the overall efficiency of the organization with zero defects.
