We would like to announce a new vision of the Journal of Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Disorders. Thanks to the contribution by former Editors-in-Chief, Associate Editors, and Editorial Board members, as well as all Readers we have a stable base and our journal is still growing. Today, it is safe to say that the journal has already matured and that it has a specific goal, specific groups of authors and readers—each of them is unique. The audience of our magazine mostly includes clinicians and scientists dealing with the subject of broadly understood gynecology with an emphasis on minimally-invasive gynecology, as well as the issues of pathophysiology, particularly comprising the topic of endometriosis, pelvic pain, reproduction, uterine fibroids, or some parts of endocrinology or gynecological oncology. Currently, our journal publishes a high quality peer-reviewed basic and clinical original research articles and critical reviews focusing specifically on the diagnosis, medical, and surgical treatment of endometriosis, adenomyosis, and associated disorders in all their multidimensional aspects. In our strategy for the forthcoming years, we will especially keep place for the most important current problems, controversial or unresolved topics in particular, which are not lacking in case of such a poorly understood pathology as endometriosis, pelvic pain, or uterine fibroids. To sum up, we believe that our journal will surely continue developing in all most important areas of clinical and scientific publishing—these mean standards, basic research, translational medicine, and clinical concept. Aim: The aim was to compare the quality of sexual life before pregnancy and after delivery and to find out whether and how selected factors affect women's sexuality during this period. Methods: The study group consisted of 433 women who completed the survey containing basic demographic questions and two Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) questionnaires: a retrospective one, regarding time before pregnancy and the current period. The inclusion criteria: time between 10 weeks and 1 year after delivery, vaginal intercourses before pregnancy and the resumption of vaginal intercourses after delivery. Results: We observed the negative impact of labor on the total FSFI score, regardless of the time that had passed since birth and the delivery mode. The decrease by at least 10% of the initial FSFI score was noticed in 44.3% of the participants. FSD (Female Sexual Dysfunction) occurred statistically more commonly after delivery than before pregnancy (45.3% vs 17.1%; P < 0.001). The following factors had an impact on the risk of post‐partum FSD: pre‐pregnancy FSD (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] = 4.17 [95% confidence interval [CI] 2.38–7.31]) and nulliparity (aOR = 1.67 [95% CI 1.09–2.53]). Conclusion: Childbirth has an undeniable impact on women's sexuality. The prevention and treatment of sexual dysfunctions is very important, especially in this crucial period of life. Objective: To evaluate first trimester maternal serum levels of lipoxin A4 (LXA4) in prediction of intrauterine fetal growth.Methods: Study group of 185 patients in singleton pregnancy was divided into three subgroups according to neonatal birthweight: ≤10th percentile (SGA), 11-89th percentile (AGA) and ≥90 percentile (LGA).Results: We observed decreased values of LXA4 concentrations, both in SGA- and LGA groups, when compared to AGA (68.91 ± 33.72 and 68.30 ± 23.49 versus 102.13 ± 121.90, respectively).Conclusions: Lipoxin A4 may become an biochemical marker in the prediction of intrauterine fetal growth disturbances; however, more studies need to be undertaken to investigate LXA4's role in pregnancy. The article discusses several studies on radiotherapy of primary and recurrent cervical cancer, published in various periodicals from September 30, 2019 to March 31, 2020. Topics covered include incorporation of whole pelvic radiation into treatment of state IVB cervical cancer in "Gynecologic Oncology," and impact of HIV status on positron emission tomography-computed tomography findings or radiotherapy treatment in the "International Journal of Gynecological Cancer."

The article examines studies related to radiotherapy in management of primary cervical cancer. Topics discussed include background of study on predictors of distant metastasis in patients with cervical cancer treated with definitive radiotherapy, and investigation on whether external beam radiation boost to pelvic lymph nodes improve outcomes in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer.

Vulvar intraepithelial lesions are a heterogenic group of diseases, which can be easily misdiagnosed. The case of a 61-year-old woman with a history of genital intraepithelial lesions and infection with HPV is presented. Her main complaint was vulvar pruritus. Vulvoscopy revealed the presence of two skin lesions: the first one had the morphology of lichen sclerosus, and the second of a Bowenoid lesion. The biopsy of the first lesion revealed vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia, whereas cells of squamous vulvar cancer were identified in the second lesion. After staging, the patient was advised to undergo hemivulvectomy and lymphadenectomy. The coexistence of morphologically diverse vulvar skin lesions may cause difficulties with diagnosis and the selection of an adequate treatment. The purpose of this review was to analyze the literature about pregnancy after bariatric surgery. We searched for available articles on the subject from the last decade (2010 to 2020). The positive impact of bariatric surgery on the level of comorbidities and pregnancy and neonatal outcomes cannot be overrated. Weight loss after bariatric surgery reduces the incidence of obesity-related conditions in pregnancy. A pregnancy in a woman after bariatric surgery should be considered a high-risk pregnancy and taken care of by a multidisciplinary team with appropriate micronutrient and vitamin supplementation provided. Optimum time to conception should be chosen following the international recommendations. Background: Atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance (ASCUS) and low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (LSIL) are the two most common results of positive Pap smears., Aim: The aim of this study was to compare the management of patients with ASCUS and LSIL., Patients and Methods: All procedures were performed between 2003 and 2014 in an outpatient clinic affiliated to a tertiary referral center, and included Pap smears, colposcopy, histology and invasive treatment., Results: There were 131 patients in the ASCUS group and 84 in the LSIL group. Further negative cytological results were obtained more frequently among the ASCUS group than the LSIL group [relative risk (RR)=1.18, 95% confidence interval (CI)=1.33-2.40; p<0.001]. Histological results revealed higher occurrence of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade III or invasive squamous cancer in the LSIL group than the ASCUS group [RR=6.8 (95% CI=0.95-144.63), p=0.033]. Patients from the LSIL group more frequently required invasive treatment [RR=2.53, 95% CI=1.40-4.67, p=0.001]., Conclusion: Diagnosis of ASCUS is associated with more frequent cases of total remission in follow-up Pap smears and requires for less-invasive management., (Copyright© 2016 International Institute of Anticancer Research (Dr. John G. Uterine fibroids (leiomyomas) are benign smooth muscle tumors of the uterus. Fibroids can develop anywhere within the muscular wall. Leiomyomas may be associated with infertility. Laparoscopic myomectomy is often used to remove symptomatic intramural or subserosal fibroids. Advantages of the procedure include short recovery time and minimal perioperative morbidity. At the same time, the multilayer suture technique is more complicated during laparoscopy. A rare but serious complication of laparoscopic myomectomies is uterine rupture. A brief review of the literature and a clinical example of a 33-year-old woman with history of infertility, laparoscopic myomectomies and uterine rupture followed by peripartum hemorrhage is presented. The treatment of leiomyomas is a challenge not only because of possible recurrence but also due to long-term consequences following successful myomectomy. Unlabelled: Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) is a severe, life-threatening mucocutaneus adverse reaction, most commonly triggered by medication. Treatment in some aspects is still controversial., Case Report: Patient with malignant astrocytoma, treated with palliative radiotherapy, developed massive erythema with bullae. Patient suffered from tumor-related epilepsy, treated pharmacologically with carbamazepine. After dermatological consultation TEN was diagnosed. The bacterial growth tests from blood were Staphylococci positive. An antibiotic therapy was performed and carbamazepine was withdrawn. Cyclosporine was administered. After 2 weeks of treatment, skin changes vanished and patient's condition improved. TEN could not be omitted in diagnosis of extensive skin changes because the causative drug removal is crucial for survival and pharmacological treatment varies in similar conditions.
