At beamline end-stations, data taking that relies on traditional step scanning, in which motors are repeatedly started and stopped, leads to inefficient usage of the x-ray source. This also increases the risk of sample radiation damage. We have developed a system where scans are performed while continuously moving the motors. To ensure stable repeatable measurements, the detector triggers are generated, in hardware, from the motor encoder positions. Before the scan starts, a list of positions is generated and as the scan progresses a trigger is produced as each successive position in the list is reached. The encoder signals from the motors are connected both to the IcePAP motion controller for closed loop operation, and a PandABox which is used as the trigger source. Control is from Tango and Sardana with a TriggerGate controller that calculates the motor positions and configures the PandABox. The scanned motor can be either a single motor, for example a sample positioner, or a combined motion like a monochromator. When combined motions are required, these make use of the parametric trajectory mode of the IcePAP. All the frontends installed on the 3GeV storage ring at MAX IV are equipped with two X-Ray Beam Position Monitors. Having recently finished the installation of the acquisition system, it was possible to record and analyse data. The MAX IV laboratory is a Swedish national laboratory for synchrotron radiation hosted by the Lund University. It will operate two storage rings to produce synchrotron light of very high intensity and quality over a broad wavelength range. A linear accelerator will feed these storage rings in topping up mode as well as serve as an electron source for a short pulse facility built on its extension. The storage rings have different sizes and operates at different energies: the MAX IV 1.5 GeV ring has 12 straight sections optimized for soft x-rays; while the MAX IV 3.0 GeV ring, has 20 straight sections, optimized for harder x-rays. In the initial stage of the project, five beamlines are foreseen to operate on the 3 GeV storage ring and an additional five on the 1.5 GeV ring. Each beamline requires a front end to interface the different characteristics in terms of vacuum level, heat loads, radiation safety, beam size and position, with respect to the storage ring. The 42 km long CLIC Drive Beam Decelerator (DBD) will decelerate beams of electrons from 2.4 GeV to 240 MeV. ASTeC in collaboration with CERN has developed a novel type of tunable permanent magnet quadrupole for the DBD. Two versions of the design were produced, for the high-energy and low-energy ends of the DBD respectively. This paper outlines the design of the low-energy version, which has a tuning range of 3.5-43 T/m. In the CLIC SiD experiment design baseline, with the machine parameter L* set to 3.5 m, the\nfinal focus quadrupole QD0 will be placed inside the detector itself. This configuration is very\nchallenging by an integration point of view.\nAmong several other aspects, the iron-dominated QD0 and the incoming beams will need an\nactive magnetic shielding to avoid unacceptable interactions with the magnetic field generated by\nthe main solenoid of the detector.\nAccording to the baseline design, this shielding is provided by a superconducting antisolenoid,\nand this note aims to describe the procedure followed to design it.
