Proper documentation is fundamental to providing structural health monitoring, damage identification and failure assessment for Cultural Heritage (CH). Three-dimensional models from photogrammetric and laser scanning surveys usually provide 3D point clouds that can be converted into meshes. The point clouds usually contain noise data due to different causes: non-cooperative material or surfaces, bad lighting, complex geometry and low accuracy of the instruments utilized. Point cloud denoising has become one of the hot topics of 3D geometric data processing, removing these noise data to recover the ground-truth point cloud and adding smoothing to the ideal surface. These cleaned point clouds can be converted in volumes with different algorithms, suitable for different uses, mainly for structural analysis. This paper aimed to analyse the geometric accuracy of algorithms available for the conversion of 3D point clouds into volumetric models that can be used for structural analyses through the FEA process. The process is evaluated, highlighting problems and difficulties that lie in poor reconstruction results of volumes from denoised point clouds due to the geometric complexity of the objects. Astrocytes are ubiquitous in the brain and spinal cord and display a complex morphology important for the local interactions with neighboring cells, resulting in the modulation of circuit function. Thus, studies focusing on astrocyte physiology in the healthy and diseased brain generally present analyses of astrocytic structure. The labeling method used to visualize the astrocytic structure defines the morphological level to observe and may vary depending on the anatomical sub-regions. The method choice may significantly affect our understanding of their structural diversity. The main goal of this work was to identify a straightforward and efficient protocol for labeling and reconstructing a detailed astrocytic structure to apply and validate in different brain tissue preparations across laboratories. For that, we explored different tissue processing protocols before GFAP labeling to determine the most effective method for reconstructing astrocytic backbones in the mouse hippocampus. Our results show that the reconstruction of astrocytic structure in vibratome sections labeled by free-floating immunofluorescence protocol provides a more practical method to achieve a higher level of detail and arbor complexity in astrocyte backbone reconstruction. Free-floating immunofluorescence labeling is the most reliable method for obtaining better antibody penetration and more detailed astrocyte structure. The paper presents the methodology used to digitally document the cavities preserved in the northern city wall of ancient Pompeii, to obtain a detailed documentation of the visible ballistic traces attributed to the impact of Roman artillery during the siege of Sulla in 89 BC, in the area from the Vesuvio to the Ercolano Gate. Building on previous studies by the team, authors intend to illustrate the workflow carried out to analyse the morphological characteristics of the existing traces by means of reality-based 3D digitsl models. These virtual replicas are intended to improve the knowledge of selected case studies due to their high relevance. In addition, some stone projectiles still preserved in the Antiquarium will be analysed. The final objective is to define a suitable approach for quantifying the terminal ballistics of Roman artillery based on conclusive evidence, thus allowing not only the virtual, but also the physical reconstruction of the launching weapons used in the war event. This study seeks to measure the technical efficiency of Community Health Service Centers (CHSCs) in Wuhan City, China, to propose some policy recommendations to improve the efficiency of CHSCs. A total of 46 CHSCs in Wuhan City were included in the study as research subjects. Data of 11 selected input and output indicators were collected from Hubei Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission. R3.2.1 statistical software was used to estimate the efficiency scores of CHSCs using Bootstrap-Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), and, on average, the bias-corrected technical efficiency score is found to be 0.7845. All the bias-corrected scores of CHSCs are lower than classical scores. At both local and regional level, large gaps exist in relative technical efficiency scores among the CHSCs, and 12 out of 46 CHSCs (26.09%) have efficiency scores at or below average levels. The results indicate big potential for the CHSCs in Wuhan to improve their technical efficiency, such as the optimization of health resources allocation, capacity building, information system strengthening, third party performance evaluation, and mechanisms design, and so on.
