Background: Identification of specific urine metabolic profiles for patients diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma (TC) vs. benign nodules (B) to identify specific biomarkers and altered pathways compared to those of healthy controls (C). Methods: Patient urine samples were collected, before surgery and after a histological confirmation of TC (n = 30) and B (n = 30), in parallel with sample collection from healthy controls (n = 20). The untargeted and semi-targeted metabolomic protocols were applied using UPLC-QTOF-ESI+-MS analysis, and the statistical analysis was performed using the Metaboanalyst 6.0 platform. The results for the blood biomarkers, previously published, were compared with the data obtained from urine sampling using the Venny algorithm and multivariate statistics. Results: Partial least squares discrimination, including VIP values, random forest graphs, and heatmaps (p < 0.05), together with biomarker analysis (AUROC ranking) and pathway analysis, suggested a specific model for the urinary metabolic profile and pathway alterations in TC and B vs. C, based on 190 identified metabolites in urine that were compared with the serum metabolites. By semi-targeted metabolomics, 10 classes of metabolites, considered putative biomarkers, were found to be responsible for specific alterations in the metabolic pathways, from polar molecules to lipids. Specific biomarkers for discrimination were identified in each class of metabolites that were either upregulated or downregulated when compared to those of the controls. Conclusions: The lipidomic window was the most relevant for identifying biomarkers related to thyroid cancer and benign conditions, since this study detected a stronger involvement of lipids and selenium-related molecules for metabolic discrimination. The initial clinical manifestation of acute mesenteric ischemia poses a diagnostic challenge, often leading to delays in identification and subsequent surgical intervention, contributing to adverse outcomes. Serum biomarkers, offering insights into the underlying pathophysiology, hold promise as prognostic indicators for acute mesenteric ischemia. This systematic review comprehensively explores the role of blood biomarkers in predicting clinical outcomes during follow-up for patients with mesenteric ischemia. A thorough literature search across the PubMed, Cochrane Library, and EMBASE databases yielded 33 relevant publications investigating the efficacy of serum biomarkers in predicting outcomes for mesenteric ischemia. Numerous studies underscore the utility of blood biomarkers in swiftly and accurately differentiating between causes of mesenteric ischemia, facilitating a prompt diagnosis. Elevated levels of specific biomarkers, particularly D-dimers, consistently correlate with heightened mortality risk and poorer clinical outcomes. While certain serum indicators exhibit substantial potential in associating with mesenteric ischemia, further research through rigorous human trials is imperative to enhance their consistent predictive ability during the follow-up period. The current article wishes to analyze one of man's fundamental rights, that of the respect owed to one's private life; this right is regulated by both the European Convention on Human Rights, as well as in the Romanian Constitution and the Civil Code. The latter is a distinct regulation. Once the New Civil Code was passed, Title II of the First Book offers an entire chapter dedicated to the respect owed to the human being and its inherent rights, a chapter in which the right to a private life is as important as the right to life, health, integrity, the right to dignity as well as the respect owed to a person after its death. The present article involves a three sided analysis, regarding constitutional law, civil law and criminal law, as we can't leave out the criminal aspects generated by the disrespecting of this right. Parkinson's disease (PD) is the second most frequent neurodegenerative disorder following Alzheimer's disease. Advanced stages of PD, 4 or 5 of the Hoehn and Yahr Scale, are characterized by severe motor complications, limited mobility without assistance, risk of falling, and non-motor complications. The aim of this review was to provide a practical overview on specific artificial intelligence (AI) systems for the management of advanced stages of PD, as well as relevant technological limitations. The authors conducted a systematic search on PubMed and EMBASE with predefined keywords searching for studies published until December 2020. Full articles that satisfied the inclusion criteria were included in the systematic review. To minimize results bias, the reference list was manually searched for pertinent articles to identify any additional relevant missed publications. Exclusion criteria included the following: Other stages of PD than 4 and 5 of the Hoehn and Yahr Scale, case reports, reviews, practice guidelines, commentaries, opinions, letters, editorials, short surveys, articles in press, conference abstracts, conference papers, and abstracts published without a full article. The search identified 21 studies analyzing AI-based applications and robotic systems used for the management of advanced stages of PD, out of which 6 articles analyzed AI-based applications for autonomous management of pharmacologic therapy, 5 articles analyzed home-based telemedicine systems and 10 articles analysed robot-assisted gait training systems. The authors identified significant evidence demonstrating that current AI-based technologies are feasible for automatic management of patients with advanced stages of PD. The purpose of this study was to perform a comparative analysis of traditional nursing techniques and autonomous robotic applications used for managing patients with advanced stages of dementia. PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, and WILEY databases were searched for relevant articles concerning nursing techniques applied in the treatment of patients with advanced dementia. The search terms included: (advanced dementia OR severe dementia) AND [artificial intelligence (AI) OR robotic OR robots OR neural networks OR deep learning OR automated procedures OR autonomous application]. This search identified a total of 2,679 articles and 298 articles were selected. Finally, 23 articles were included in this systematic review, out of which 8 studies analyzed traditional nursing techniques and 15 studies analyzed autonomous robotic applications. Significant evidence was revealed, demonstrating that autonomous robotic applications used for patients with advanced stages of dementia are a feasible, cost-efficient solution and represent an excellent benefit for patients and the healthcare system.
