To analyze the organization of services offered in the Family Health Strategy, from the perspective of Basic Units managers. Analytical, qualitative study, carried out through a focus group, with the participation of 25 managers of Basic Family Health Units in a pole city in the West of Santa Catarina. For systematization and data analysis, the Discourse of the Collective Subject was used, based on the theory of social representations, which resulted in three Central Ideas. Three Central Ideas emerged: 'The influence of Structural Factors for the Development of Services in the Family Health Strategy', 'Care and management organization of work in the Family Health Strategy' and 'Access and user's satisfaction from the perspective of Basic Health Units managers'. Some challenges were evidenced in management practices, such as inadequate infrastructure, professional turnover and conduct based on the medical-hegemonic model. The difficulty in offering comprehensive, individualized, and longitudinal care was emphasized, which directly influences user's satisfaction. The health care model and the articulation of the network determine the forms of care and management organization of services, which impact on guaranteeing access and resolution in the care provided to users. Introduction Contemporary society is witnessing a population that struggles to look after their health due to the relentless pace of their lives, consequently rendering them susceptible to the experience of hospitalization. Within this context, individuals relinquish their autonomy and are confronted with a plethora of reactions and emotions, requiring an individualized and humane approach for a prompt and effective recovery. Objective To comprehend the lived experience of hospitalization, from the perspective of individuals admitted to the medical clinic. Methods This is an exploratory study, with a qualitative approach, and draws upon partial data from a matrix research project, rooted in the theoretical framework of Health Promotion. The manuscript has been organized in adherence with the consolidated criteria for reporting qualitative research (COREQ). It was conducted with a cohort of 15 inpatients from the medical clinic department of a public hospital in the Southern region of Brazil. Data was collected by the authors, using a semi-structured questionnaire, between September and October 2021. Thematic content analysis was used to organize and interpret the data. Results Two categories emerged: the first highlighted the experiences lived during hospitalization. While some participants felt secure and supported by the multi-professional team, others perceived the hospital environment as a place associated with pain and suffering. The second category emphasized the sentiment of longing experienced during hospitalization, such as for spending time with family, friends, leisure activities, and daily routines. Conclusion The experience of the hospitalization process triggers feelings of security, vulnerability, and longing. Objective: to understand the facilities and difficulties experienced by Haitian women for the care of their children in the Brazilian context. Method: qualitative research, participant action type, based on the assumptions of Paulo Freire. Three Culture Circles were held in a virtual way with the participation of 11 Haitian immigrant mothers. The three stages of the Research Itinerary were: Thematic Research; Coding and Decoding; Critical Unveiling. Results: women unveiled facilities in caring for their children in Brazil such as access to doctors, vaccines, day care, security, employment, learning Portuguese with their children and church support. They also pointed out challenges: homesickness and lack of family support, stress, fear, discrimination, difficulty in studying and working, few friends, Portuguese language. Conclusion: Haitian immigrants mothers face difficulties and facilities in the care of their children in Brazil, being urgent the expansion of public policies of health and education, so that they can overcome the barriers of the migration process. Objective: to understand the meanings of mourning for people who faced the death of a family member due to COVID-19. Method: qualitative study, action-participant type, based on the assumptions of Paulo Freire. Participants were 16 family members living on the coast of Santa Catarina, Brazil. A Culture Circle was held in a virtual way, following the stages of the Freire’s Itinerary. Results: the participants meant that the experience of mourning the family, due to COVID-19, took them the opportunity to say goodbye to their loved one. The pandemic also took away their jobs, their children’s face-to-face classes, meetings, weddings, hugs and smiles. But it also meant that it brought learning, with strengthening of spirituality and family. Conclusion: the meaning of mourning permeated countless losses, restricting the experience of the stages of mourning. However, there was a greater search for spirituality and religion, with appreciation of family and life. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: to understand the experience of elementary school teachers in coping with COVID-19, unveiling the possibilities to promote their health in this pandemic context. Method: qualitative study, participant action type, with a methodological guide of Paulo Freire's Research Itinerary, which includes three stages: Thematic Research; Encoding and Decoding; Critical Unveiling. Fourteen elementary school teachers, active in private and public schools in different Brazilian states, participated in the Culture Circle. Results: the analysis resulted in two generating themes: 1) Challenges in coping with COVID-19; 2) Possibilities to promote teacher's health in times of COVID-19. Conclusion: the challenges of remote education to cope with COVID-19 involve overload, stress, anxiety, fears, concerns, insecurity, and missing school. As the possibilities to promote health, teachers seek family support, organizing time to take care of themselves and alleviate anxiety through reading books, watching movies, and exercising. Objective: to share the experience of a culture circle about empowerment in the context of health vulnerabilities and nursing practices. Method: experience report, involving professors and students of a Postgraduate Program in Nursing, of a public university in southern Brazil. The culture circle was held using word-hunting, music videos, making concepts about empowerment in the context of women, indigenous and black, going through the stages of Paulo Freire's research itinerary. Results: the participants demonstrated knowledge of Freire's assumptions, highlighting the relevance of empowerment, constituted by the dynamic process of awareness. In situations of health vulnerabilities, nurses act in favor of the empowerment of these populations, through educational and emancipatory activities, based on the health conditions and reality of these people. Objective: To understand the repercussions of Coronavirus Disease 19 (COVID-19) from the perspective of schoolchildren. Materials and method: A qualitative study, of the participant action type, based on Paulo Freire's theoretical and methodological precepts. The participants were 10 children living in the coastal area of Santa Catarina, Brazil, from a virtual culture circle held in July 2020. An analogy was made with the colored pencil to go through the stages of the research itinerary. Results: Two generative themes emerged for discussion: the good things of the COVID-19 pandemic and the "cannots" of the pandemic. In the first theme, they highlighted more time with the family and strengthening family ties, proximity to pets, and self-care. In the second, they pointed out the impossibility of playing with friends, celebrating birthdays and hugging people. Conclusions: The children identified positive and negative points experienced during the pandemic and unveiled the challenges of transforming moments of social isolation into spaces of family proximity, although restricted to their homes.
