Work and family have become topics of social research due to people's difficulty reconciling them in their lives. This situation arises from incompatible internal conditions, responsibilities, and requirements that limit appropriate compliance in each area, affecting people's individual, family, and work functioning. In this context, the general objective of the study was to describe the work and family situation of the collaborators of the Directorate of Roads of the Provincial Government of Azuay. The study had a quantitative approach of exploratory scope with a descriptive, non- experimental and cross-sectional design. The survey and questionnaire were used for data collection. The study subjects were 133 male and 11 female collaborators of the Directorate of Roads of the Provincial Government of Azuay, who were selected through stratified random sampling with proportional fixation by sex. The main findings resulting from this research demonstrated particular characteristics in the male and female collaborators in terms of age, marital status, housing, job roles and length of service in the entity. In addition, work and family factors were identified, such as: work motivation, work stress, organizational climate, family satisfaction, time and communication, which demonstrated the importance of strengthening internal balance to promote individual and family well-being. In this sense, strategies adapted to their needs were proposed as a way to reconcile them in their lives

The intragender violence among women occurs due to negative and stereotyped relationships within gender contexts, which are characterized by invisibility due to a lack of research and little interest, especially in the political sphere. The study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the perceptions of female student representatives regarding intragender violence in the realm of political participation at the University of Cuenca during the period 2023-2024. The study methodology was developed with a qualitative and exploratory approach to understand the reality from the perspective of the subjects regarding the experienced violence, through the application of 14 semi-structured interviews. The collected data was processed based on the principles of Thematic Analysis in order to achieve proper organization through codes, categories, and formulation of themes. The results show the existence of intragender violence within the spaces of student representation at the University of Cuenca, mainly manifested verbally, symbolically, through media, and psychologically, generating emotional consequences for the victims, who lack a specific strategic route to address acts of violence among women. In conclusion, the perceptions about intragender violence of female student representatives are negative because it has been invisibilized due to the little relevance, knowledge, and awareness of the issue.

563 p., La pregunta principal de la tesis doctoral se enfoca en la relación entre los métodos para conocer la realidad usados por antropólogos/as y artistas. A partir de esta pregunta nos centramos en los métodos etnográficos empleados en la creación artística. La hipótesis planteada es que hay una relación entre los métodos y técnicas empleados por las dos disciplinas para conocer la realidad, en particular cuando el arte se enfrenta a temas sociales.Los principales objetivos conceptuales son: comparar la relación entre los métodos y técnicas antropológicas y artísticas, y analizar los modos y motivos de empleo de los métodos y técnicas etnográficas por los artistas. Los objetivos secundarios son: analizar la migración desde la perspectiva personal de artistas; crear una tipología de análisis de obras artísticas en relación con temáticas,objetivos y métodos etnográficos utilizados, y, finalmente, analizar el papel social del arte y las consecuencias éticas en relación con el fenómeno migratorio. Los objetivos experimentales son: la exploración artística propia, aplicando algunos de los métodos analizados, y la elaboración de un conjunto de orientaciones para unas buenas prácticas etnográficas en arte. La metodología es teórico práctica y el marco teórico metodológico se construye en la confluencia entre teorías antropológicas y artísticas. La tesis pretende contribuir al campo artístico, tanto teórico como práctico, y especialmente a provocar una discusión en torno a la ética implicada en prácticas de creación e investigación artística que puede tener consecuencias para la formación artística. Nos invita a profundizar en el conocimiento de las técnicas de creación desde una perspectiva ética y hacer ver la necesidad de incluir aspectos éticos de creación e investigación en la enseñanza artística.

510 p., El paisaje es un concepto moderno relacionado con la manera de relacionarnos con el mundo a través dela tecnología. El paisaje se ha ido modelando a lo largo de los siglos a partir de las teorías humanistas y ha servido para construir los imaginarios colectivos sobre los que se han construido las sociedades modernas. Se trata de un concepto muy vinculado a lo tecnológico que evoluciona constantemente. Desde su origen en el campo de la pintura, el concepto del paisaje ha ido transformándose y en la actualidad han ido apareciendo paisajes en campos como la genética, la biología o la acústica. Sin embargo, carecemos de herramientas conceptuales apropiadas para analizar estos paisajes contemporáneos. Esta tesis trata de suplir esta carencia proponiendo un modelo de análisis desde la complejidad basado en el planteamiento del dispositivo de Foucault y el de membrana osmótica de Paul Virilio.

Widely adoption of Information Technologies has resulted in the continuous growing of open data available on the Web. However, the lack of suitable mechanisms to understand open data sources hampers its reusability. One way to overcome this limitation is by means of Web Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) with proper documentation, nowadays being the existing very rudimentary, hard to follow, and sometimes incomplete or even inaccurate in most cases. In order to improve the documentation of Web APIs that access open data, this paper proposes a novel approach to automatically generate interactive Web API documentation, both machine and user readable. This process starts by analysing the documentation of an API to obtain important information, automatically constructing Natural Language descriptions of the main Web API concepts by applying Natural Language Processing (NLP), and specifically, language generation techniques. Then, the documentation is made interactive by making it available as a Web interface, offering easy access to open data provided by Web APIs. Therefore, the use and comprehension of the Web APIs is facilitated, thus promoting the reusability of open data. The feasibility of our approach is presented through a case study and an experiment with users, both showing the benefits of our approach.

Despite the indisputable advances in education over the last decades, school failure and early school-leaving indicators in Portugal remain somewhat high, particularly when compared with those of other European Union countries. Once identified, the need to understand this problem have given rise to a number of research studies ranging from factors mostly related to development: students’ motivations and aspirations, families’ socioeconomic and cultural conditions, school organisational aspects and teaching staff quality, which focus less on variables more related to territory. Assuming, conceptually, school failure as a multidetermined phenomenon, yet directly relating it to the geographical space in which schools are located and students live, this study seeks to identify and explain some territory-related variables, viewed in this study from an innovative and dynamic perspective, in an attempt to characterize its identity by a coordinated and cross-cutting series of indicators. This study was developed within the Coimbra Region Intermunicipal Community, in Portugal, and involved a robust statistical analysis relating primary students’ performance (10-year olds) in national exams with territorial characteristics. Thus, it points to the mutual influence of these dimensions and suggests the need for a grass-roots debate, reinforcing actions to prevent and combat school failure and early school leaving., Apesar dos indiscutíveis avanços registados no domínio da educação, ao longo das últimas décadas, Portugal regista, ainda, indicadores de insucesso e de abandono escolar precoce consideravelmente elevados, particularmente quando comparados com os dos outros países da União Europeia. A identificação e necessidade de compreensão desse problema tem originado diversos trabalhos de investigação que compreendem desde fatores mais relacionados com o desenvolvimento, até às motivações e aspirações do aluno, às condições socioeconómicas e culturais das famílias, aos aspetos organizacionais da escola e à qualidade do corpo docente, dando muito menos importância às variáveis mais relacionadas com o contexto territorial. Assumindo, conceitualmente, o insucesso escolar como um fenômeno multideterminado, mas com uma relação direta com o espaço geográfico em que se situam as escolas e em que vivem os alunos, este artigo procura identificar e explicar algumas variáveis mais relacionadas com o território, entendido, neste estudo, numa perspectiva inovadora e dinâmica, procurando realizar sua caraterização identitária através de um conjunto articulado e transversal de indicadores. Desenvolvido na Comunidade Intermunicipal da Região de Coimbra, em Portugal, e após análise estatística robusta, que relaciona o desempenho em provas nacionais dos alunos do primeiro ciclo do ensino básico com as caraterísticas territoriais, este trabalho aponta a existência de influências mútuas destas dimensões, sugerindo a necessidade de um debate participado que suporte intervenções articuladas de combate ao insucesso escolar.
