Objectives: Anti‐resorptive agents have been linked to the development of MRONJ in patients undergoing dental surgical procedures. This survey aims to explore the level of knowledge and experience of Italian Society of Periodontology and Implantology members in the management of patients treated with anti‐resorptive agents and with the risk of developing MRONJ. Materials and Methods: An 18‐item questionnaire was submitted by e‐mail to the SIdP members. Statistical analyses were carried out. Continuous variables were described as mean ± standard deviation (SD) or median, and first and third quartile according to distribution's normality. Normality of data was checked with Shapiro–Wilk test. Results: Four hundred and fifty‐one questionnaires were returned by e‐mail (32%). Most of the respondents were private practitioners (81.8%). Only 47.7% declared to be highly confident in managing patients on anti‐resorptive therapy while 92.5% reported to have performed tooth extractions and 52.3% implant surgery in patients under anti‐resorptive therapy for osteometabolic disorders. One or more MRONJ‐affected patients were encountered by 63.2% of the respondents. Conclusions: This survey highlights the need to develop a "dedicated" program both for dentists and prescribers to improve the level of cooperation and to increase the level of awareness of patients treated with anti‐resorptive agents. Background There are limited data regarding the effectiveness of levodopa-carbidopa intestinal gel (LCIG) for dyskinesia. Objective Compare the effectiveness of LCIG versus oral optimized medical treatment (OMT) for dyskinesia in patients with advanced Parkinson's disease (PD) using the Unified Dyskinesia Rating Scale (UDysRS). Methods This phase 3b, open-label, multicenter, 12-week, interventional study (NCT02799381) randomized 63 LCIG naive patients with advanced PD (UDysRS >= 30) to LCIG (N = 30) or OMT (N = 33) treatment. Dyskinesia impact was assessed at baseline through week 12 using the UDysRS. PD-related motor and non-motor symptoms, and quality of life (QoL) were also assessed. Results Dyskinesias measured by UDysRS were significantly reduced in the LCIG group (n = 24; -17.37 +/- 2.79) compared with the OMT group (n = 26; -2.33 +/- 2.56) after 12 weeks (-15.05 +/- 3.20; 95% CI, -21.47 to -8.63; P < 0.0001). At week 12, LCIG versus OMT also demonstrated significant improvements in "On" time without troublesome dyskinesia (P = 0.0001), QoL (P < 0.0001), global impression of change (P < 0.0001), activities of daily living (P = 0.0006), and Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) Part III (P = 0.0762). Treatment-emergent adverse events were reported in 27 (44.3%) patients (LCIG, 18 [64.3%]; OMT, 9 [27.3%]). Serious adverse events occurred in 2 (7.1%) LCIG-treated patients. Conclusions LCIG significantly reduced dyskinesia compared with OMT. LCIG showed efficacy for treatment of troublesome dyskinesia in patients with advanced PD while demonstrating benefits in both motor and non-motor symptoms and QoL. (c) 2021 The Authors. As indicated in the European Fusion Roadmap, the main objective of the Divertor Tokamak Test facility (DTT) is to explore alternative power exhaust solutions for DEMO so as to mitigate the risk that the conventional divertor based on detached conditions to be tested on the ITER device cannot be extrapolated to a fusion reactor. The issues to be investigated by DTT include: • demonstrate a heat exhaust system capable of withstanding the large load of DEMO in case of inadequate radiated power fraction; • close the gaps in the exhaust area that cannot be addressed by present devices; • demonstrate that the possible (alternative or complementary) solutions (e.g., advanced divertor configurations or liquid metals) can be integrated in a DEMO device. In this paper, we describe a proposal for such a DTT, presented by ENEA in collaboration with a European team of scientists. The selection of the DTT parameters (a major radius of 2.15 m, an aspect ratio of about 3, an elongation of 1.6-1.8, a toroidal field of 6 T, and a flat top of about 100 s) has been made according to the following specifications: • edge conditions as close as possible to DEMO in terms of dimensionless parameters; • flexibility to test a wide set of divertor concepts and techniques; • compatibility with bulk plasma performance. • an upper bound of 500 M€ for the investment costs. This paper illustrates this DTT proposal showing how the basic machine parameters and concept have been selected so as to make a significant step toward the accomplishment of the power exhaust mission.

- Abstract
In parallel with the programme to optimize the operation with a conventional divertor based on detached conditions to be tested on the ITER device, a project has been launched to investigate alternative power exhaust solutions for DEMO, aimed at the definition and the design of a divertor tokamak test facility (DTT). The DTT project proposal refers to a set of parameters selected so as to have edge conditions as close as possible to DEMO, while remaining compatible with DEMO bulk plasma performance in terms of dimensionless parameters and given constraints. The paper illustrates the DTT project proposal, referring to a 6 MA plasma with a major radius of 2.15 m, an aspect ratio of about 3, an elongation of 1.6-1.8, and a toroidal field of 6 T. This selection will guarantee sufficient flexibility to test a wide set of divertor concepts and techniques to cope with large heat loads, including conventional tungsten divertors; liquid metal divertors; both conventional and advanced magnetic configurations (including single null, snow flake, quasi snow flake, X divertor, double null); internal coils for strike point sweeping and control of the width of the scrape-off layer in the divertor region; and radiation control. The Poloidal Field system is planned to provide a total flux swing of more than 35 Vs, compatible with a pulse length of more than 100 s. This is compatible with the mission of studying the power exhaust problem and is obtained using superconducting coils. Particular attention is dedicated to diagnostics and control issues, especially those relevant for plasma control in the divertor region, designed to be as compatible as possible with a DEMO-like environment. The construction is expected to last about seven years, and the selection of an Italian site would be compatible with a budget of 500 M.

- Abstract
As indicated in the European Fusion Roadmap, the main objective of the Divertor Tokamak Test facility (DTT) is to explore alternative power exhaust solutions for DEMO so as to mitigate the risk that the conventional divertor based on detached conditions to be tested on the ITER device cannot be extrapolated to a fusion reactor. The issues to be investigated by DTT include: • demonstrate a heat exhaust system capable of withstanding the large load of DEMO in case of inadequate radiated power fraction;• close the gaps in the exhaust area that cannot be addressed by present devices;• demonstrate that the possible (alternative or complementary) solutions (e.g., advanced divertor configurations or liquid metals) can be integrated in a DEMO device. In this paper, we describe a proposal for such a DTT, presented by ENEA in collaboration with a European team of scientists. The selection of the DTT parameters (a major radius of 2.15 m, an aspect ratio of about 3, an elongation of 1.6-1.8, a toroidal field of 6 T, and a flat top of about 100 s) has been made according to the following specifications: • edge conditions as close as possible to DEMO in terms of dimensionless parameters;• flexibility to test a wide set of divertor concepts and techniques;• compatibility with bulk plasma performance.• an upper bound of 500 M€ for the investment costs. This paper illustrates this DTT proposal showing how the basic machine parameters and concept have been selected so as to make a significant step toward the accomplishment of the power exhaust mission.

The hydrolysis of carbonyl sulfide (COS) was studied in a gas-liquid reactor at room temperature and ambient pressure in presence of alkanolamines, such as monoethanolamine (MEA), diethanolamine (DEA), methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) and diisopropylamine (DIPA). The activity and stability of the different amines was investigated at fixed COS inlet concentration and reaction volume. The highest removal efficiency of COS was obtained in presence of DEA aqueous solution (25 %), while the lowest COS conversion was observed with the tertiary amine MDEA (< 10 %). A greater COS removal was obtained in presence of the higher reaction volume (400 cm3) that was equal to 25 % for DEA and 26 % for DIPA, respectively. Finally, the evaluation of the kinetic constant for the COS hydrolysis reaction with DEA was performed.

In parallel with the programme to optimize the operation with a conventional divertor based on detached conditions to be tested on the ITER device, a project has been launched to investigate alternative power exhaust solutions for DEMO, aimed at the definition and the design of a divertor tokamak test facility (DTT). The DTT project proposal refers to a set of parameters selected so as to have edge conditions as close as possible to DEMO, while remaining compatible with DEMO bulk plasma performance in terms of dimensionless parameters and given constraints. The paper illustrates the DTT project proposal, referring to a 6 MA plasma with a major radius of 2.15 m, an aspect ratio of about 3, an elongation of 1.6–1.8, and a toroidal field of 6 T. This selection will guarantee sufficient flexibility to test a wide set of divertor concepts and techniques to cope with large heat loads, including conventional tungsten divertors; liquid metal divertors; both conventional and advanced magnetic configurations (including single null, snow flake, quasi snow flake, X divertor, double null); internal coils for strike point sweeping and control of the width of the scrape-off layer in the divertor region; and radiation control. The Poloidal Field system is planned to provide a total flux swing of more than 35 Vs, compatible with a pulse length of more than 100 s. This is compatible with the mission of studying the power exhaust problem and is obtained using superconducting coils. Particular attention is dedicated to diagnostics and control issues, especially those relevant for plasma control in the divertor region, designed to be as compatible as possible with a DEMO-like environment. The construction is expected to last about seven years, and the selection of an Italian site would be compatible with a budget of 500 M€.

Aim: In a human pilot case, we used a root formed temporary prosthetical device (Intra-alveolar Device - IAD), to investigate the effect of mechanical stimulation on hard tissue clinically and radiographically. Background: The extraction of a tooth determines the resorption of the alveolar bone. This determines challenge to place an implant and to integrate the prosthesis in soft tissue. Mechanical stimulation is fundamental for bone tropism but is not understood the effect of mechanical stimulation on post-extraction site. Case presentation: A 24 years old woman was enrolled. The IAD’s were used as expected by protocol. Clinical healing was uneventfully. Vertical radiographical bone resorption measured on CBCT was -0,14mm (5,6%) while horizontal bone resorption was -0,21mm (12,36%). Conclusion: This study demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed model. We need clinical prospectical studies enrolling more patients

From the electrical point of view, CFRP composites are characterized by an anisotropic uniaxial conductivity posing difficult problems for their electromagnetic description and numerical modeling. In this paper, the previous computational model, based on a magneto-quasi-stationary integral numerical formulation, is suitably extended to take into account the electro-quasi-static contribution as well as the magneto-quasi-static part, mainly dueto the presence of low values of the conductivity perpendicular to the fibres. The formulation is well suited for a broad spectrum of frequencies being possible to take into account low frequency applications as well as cases in which wave propagation is no more negligible. A simple example is analyzed showing the high potential of the proposed approach.

Periodontitis is a plaque induced disease characterized by tissue destruction. The extent of the alveolar bone loss depends on the host response stimulated by bacterial infection. Recently researchers have focused on the role of the immune system, of RANK/RANKL/OPG pathway and of cytokines network. Another recent field of interest is osteoimmunology that try to explain the relationship between immune and bone cells in activating bone resorption. Advances in the understanding of the pathogenic mechanisms allowed a better understanding of the relationship with other diseases like osteoporosis and also to hypothesize new therapies based on modulation of host response (host modulatory therapy - HMT). The purpose of this mini-review is to briefly discuss these topics.
