The Na-O-Li configurations in P2-type sodium layered transition metal (TM) oxide cathode can trigger additional oxygen redox at high charging voltage (deep de-sodiation). However, the P-type to O-type phase transition and irreversible TM migration would be simultaneously aggravated at high state-of-charge, resulting in structural distortion. Herein, we demonstrate that excessive de-sodiation of Na0.67Li0.1Fe0.37Mn0.53O2 (NLFMO) induces Li removal from lattice and the formation of neighboring O-stacking faults with an OP4-O2 intergrowth structure, which is the chief culprit of structural distortion. Regulating Li migration from the pristine TM layer (LiTM) to the alkali-metal layer (LiAM) would sustain a repetitive P-stacking state (not evolve into a deteriorated neighboring O-stacking), and tune the reversible movement of TM ions during cycling. Accurately regulating the O/P-intergrowth structure (within the OP4 boundary phase) does not bring any obvious trade-off on capacity, but enhances the structural stability of NLFMO cathode, achieving a long-life 165 Wh/kg pouch-cell with cationic/anionic redox activities.

International audience; A simple and readily applicable voltammetric approach is described to characterize and measure thesite-hopping surface diffusion of underpotential-deposited (UPD) metal adatoms at nanoelectrodes. UPD refers tothe deposition of atoms on foreign metal supports at potentials lower than those predicted by Nernst law for a bulkdeposition. Despite its importance in several fields of catalysis, advanced nanofabrication or even atomicnanoengineering by atomic layer epitaxy, diffusion of UPD adatoms is difficult to observe at micro- andmacroelectrodes. In fact, at electrodes of usual dimensions, UPD adatoms surface diffusion is masked by otherelectrochemical phenomena of greater relative amplitudes. Conversely, at nanowires electrodes sealed in glass,only an extremely small fraction of the surface of the wires is exposed to the electrolyte solution and is rapidlyloaded. This allows the spillage of UPD adatoms onto the much larger area of the nanowire rod which is immuneto Faradaic reactions due to its isolation from the electrochemical solution by the glass casing. Therefore,surprisingly for a UPD process, voltammetric peaks currents and integral desorption charges primarily reflect thesediffusional surface processes so that the integral charges vary linearly with the inverse of the square root of thescan rate. This is easily observable and measurable with usual bench-level electrochemical instrumentation. In thiswork, by using nanoelectrodes with diameters between 90 and 260 nm, we were able to establish the majorinvolvement of this site-hopping surface diffusion of UPD Pb adatoms on polycrystalline gold (Au) and characterizeit quantitatively. The equivalent surface diffusion coefficient of UPD Pb adatoms was determined to be ~4.4 × 10-11 cm2 s-1 at room temperature, corresponding to a Gibbs free energy activation barrier of ca. 18.72 kJ mol-1 (i.e.,0.19 eV per Pb adatom) for the reaction of inter-sites exchange of Pb adatoms on a polycrystalline Au surface.

Introduction Gene expression association studies of tumor samples have uncovered several long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) closely related to various types of cancer. Several lncRNAs have been reported to play essential roles in the progression of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). Novel lncRNA inhibiting proliferation and metastasis (lnc-NLIPMT) is a known regulator of mammary cell proliferation and motility, but its involvement in PTC is unclear. Materials and methods We investigated the role of lnc-NLIPMT in PTC by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) on various PTC tissue samples and cell lines. We assessed the effects of overexpression or knockdown of lnc-NLIPMT on the proliferation, migration, and invasion of PTC cells using CCK-8, cell clone formation, and transwell assays. Changes in the expression of N-cadherin and vimentin were detected by immunoblotting. Results Our results revealed a downregulation of the expression of lnc-NLIPMT in PTC and a negative correlation between lnc-NLIPMT expression and tumor size (P=0.006). Overexpression of lnc-NLIPMT in TPC-1 and B-CPAP cells significantly suppressed cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, while lnc-NLIPMT knockdown had the opposite effect. In addition, lnc-NLIPMT played an important role in the regulation of the expression of N-cadherin and vimentin. Conclusion lnc-NLIPMT inhibits cell proliferation and metastasis of PTC cells and is a potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in PTC.

Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is a powerful characterization technique for the in-depth investigation of kinetic/transport parameters detection, reaction mechanism understanding, and degradation effects exploration in lithium-ion battery (LIB) systems. However, due to the lack of standardized criterion/paradigm, severe misinterpretations occur frequently during an EIS measurement. In this paper, the significance of instrumental accuracy is described and the character/principle of selection on the simulation model is illuminated/proposed, showing that an adequate precision device and an appropriate fitting model are a prerequisite for a correct EIS analysis. Moreover, the drawbacks of conventional two-electrode EIS experiments for typical coin-type cells are rigorously pointed out by comparison with the ideal three-electrode configuration, where the real impedance information of the cathode would be masked by the sum of both the anode film resistance response and the unavoidable inductive loop signal. The three-electrode case enables efficient accurate observations on individual electrodes, thus facilitating abundant and useful information acquisition. Consequently, devices with a sufficient accuracy, rational simulation models, and advanced three-electrode cells are distinctly illustrated as standardized criterion/paradigm for EIS characterizations, which are essentially important for electrode and interface modifications in LIBs.

Hearing loss is becoming more and more common in young adults. Many researches have utilized self-reported hearing conditions only to obtain the morbidity of hearing loss. Therefore, we decided to explore factors contributing to self-reported hearing loss deviation in young Chinese adults and compare the loss with audiometric results. We examined the hearing condition of 2195 young adults aged 18–30 years in Zhejiang Province, China using a pure-tone audiometric test. We also collected information on self-reported hearing condition, demographic characteristics, ear problems, living behavior, and hearing health belief through a survey using a structured questionnaire. We found that 31.6% of young adults showed inconsistencies between self-reported hearing loss and audiometric results. Age had a positive effect on underestimating hearing loss and a reverse effect on overestimating hearing loss. Being female, having a family history of hearing loss, and perceived severity of hearing health belief were associated with overestimation of hearing loss. Ear problems, such as tinnitus and otalgia, were associated with overestimating hearing loss. A higher frequency of using headphones was negatively associated with underestimating hearing loss [OR 0.491 (0.254–0.948)] and positively correlated with overestimating hearing loss [OR 2.702 (1.947–3.750)]. A higher probability of increasing the volume of headphones in a noisy environment drastically reduced the odds of underestimating hearing loss [OR 0.357 (0.148–0.860)] and made overestimating hearing loss [OR 1.523 (1.141–2.033)] more likely. Young adult smokers were more likely to underestimate hearing loss [OR 2.428 (1.140–5.170)]. These data provide evidence that demographic characteristics, ear problems, living behavior, and hearing health belief contribute to the deviation of self-reported hearing loss in young adults.

Background Tamoxifen (TAM) and Toremifene (TOR), two kinds of selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs), have equal efficacy in breast cancer patients. However, TAM has been proved to affect serum lipid profiles and cause fatty liver disease. The study aimed to compare the effects of TAM and TOR on fatty liver development and lipid profiles. Methods This study performed a retrospective analysis of 308 SERMs-treated early breast cancer patients who were matched 1:1 based on propensity scores. The follow-up period was 3 years. The primary outcomes were fatty liver detected by ultrasonography or computed tomography (CT), variation in fibrosis indexes, and serum lipid profiles change. Results The cumulative incidence rate of new-onset fatty liver was higher in the TAM group than in the TOR group (113.2 vs. 67.2 per 1000 person-years, p p = 0.003). According to the Kaplan-Meier curves, TAM significantly increased the risk of new-onset fatty liver (25.97% vs. 17.53%, p = 0.0243) and the severe fatty liver (5.84% vs. 1.95%, p = 0.0429). TOR decreased the risk of new-onset fatty liver by 45% (hazard ratio = 0.55, p = 0.020) and showed lower fibrotic burden, independent of obesity, lipid, and liver enzyme levels. TOR increased triglycerides less than TAM, and TOR increased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, while TAM did the opposite. No significant differences in total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol are observed between the two groups. Conclusions TAM treatment is significantly associated with more severe fatty liver disease and liver fibrosis, while TOR is associated with an overall improvement in lipid profiles, which supports continuous monitoring of liver imaging and serum lipid levels during SERM treatment.

Single pitting corrosion is a type of failure that often occurs in rotating machinery bearings, which seriously interferes with the normal operation of rotating machinery bearings. Therefore, a fault diagnosis method based on wavelet analysis for single pitting corrosion of rotating machinery bearings is proposed. Acquire vibration signals of rotating machinery bearings, use wavelet analysis to denoise the collected signals, extract fault features through empirical mode decomposition (EMD), and use BP neural network algorithm to perform fault classification and identification based on the extraction results to realize rotating machinery bearings Single point pitting fault diagnosis. The simulation results show that, compared with the envelope demodulation analysis method, the research method has higher accuracy and faster diagnosis efficiency for single pitting corrosion of rotating machinery bearings, which confirms its application value.

Background This study aims to investigate the association between social capital (SC) and depressive symptoms among Chinese primiparas at different time-points from their late pregnancy to postpartum. Methods A total of 450 primiparas were recruited for the current study. The assessments were conducted at three different time-points: T1 – while the participants were recruited at their 30–36 weeks of pregnancy in the antenatal clinic in the maternity hospital in Zhejiang, China; T2 – at their 2nd or 3rd days in the wards after delivery; T3 – at week 6 to 8 after the delivery in the postpartum examination clinic. SC was measured by the 29-item SC scale; while depressive symptoms were measured by the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale. The relationships between SC and depressive symptoms were explored separately at each of the three time-points. Results The prevalence of depression among the primiparas was 25% at T1, 13.5% at T2 and 20.8% at T3, respectively. However, the score of SC and its components at three time-points followed an opposite ‘V’ direction, with the highest score at T2, following by T3 and T1. At T1, the analysis suggested that depressive symptoms among the primiparas were negatively correlated with their social trust and social network levels. At T2, only social trust was negatively associated with depression. While at T3, it is social trust and social participations that were significantly negatively associated with depression. Conclusions SC was associated with depression at all three time-points during and after pregnancy. More attention should be given to SC in the maternal health promotion programs of community pregnancy health care management. We demonstrate a novel method to construct a lithium ion transport network in cathode materials by replacing PVDF with lithiated poly(bis(4-carbonyl benzene sulfonyl)imide- co -bis(4-amino benzene sulfonyl)imide) as the binder. The single ion conducting polymer was synthesized via polycondensation of bis(4-carbonyl benzene sulfonyl)imide and bis(4-amino benzene sulfonyl)imide followed by lithium ion exchange. By blending the ionomers with LiFePO 4 and acetylene carbon, the ionic network was well constructed, resulting in a maximum use of active cathode material inside the cathode. The membrane of the polymer electrolyte exhibits an ionic conductivity of 0.14 mS cm −1 at room temperature, a high ion transference number of 0.92 and a wide electrochemical window of 4.5 V (vs. Li + /Li). A lithium ion battery assembled with the single ion conducting polymer electrolyte delivers excellent performance at room temperature with various C-rates.

The aim of this study is to investigate the associations between social capital and antenatal depression among Chinese primiparas. A cross-sectional design was used and a questionnaire survey was conducted with 1471 participants using the intercept method at the provincial hospital in Zhejiang in 2016. Antenatal depression was evaluated using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) and social capital was assessed by the Chinese version of Social Capital Assessment Questionnaire (C-SCAQ). The prevalence of antenatal depression was assessed among Chinese primiparas in their third trimesters. The antenatal depression prevalence among sub-groups with lower social trust (ST), social reciprocity (SR), social network (SN), and social participation (SP) were significantly higher than those among higher score sub-groups. In the fully adjusted model, primiparas' antenatal depression was significantly associated with ST, SR, SN, and SP. Compared to the structural social capital, the cognitive social capital was a more crucial dimension to the prevalence of antenatal depression. For future community pregnancy health care management programs in China, it might be beneficial to add more social capital related intervention.
