However, the functions and molecular mechanisms of FAM83 genes in ovarian cancer (OC) have not yet been investigated. This study aimed to explore the clinical significance and prognostic value of FAM83 genes in OC.Materials and Methods: We used a series of bioinformatics databases (Oncomine, GEPIA, cBioPortal, Kaplan–Meier plotter, DAVID and TIMER) to investigate the expression status, prognostic value, genetic alteration and biological function of all eight FAM83 genes in OC. In addition, a tissue microarray cohort (TMA) comprising 99 ovarian tumor tissues and 19 normal ovarian tissues was used to validate the protein expression and clinicopathological significance of FAM83H.Results: Several datasets demonstrated the mRNA levels of FAM83A/D/E/F/H were significantly higher in OC compared with that in normal tissue. Moreover, the upregulation of FAM83D/H has been mutually confirmed in the Oncomine and GEPIA datasets. Kaplan–Meier survival analysis indicated that the FAM83D/H upregulation could predict poor prognosis of OC patients who had shorter overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS). In addition, cBioportal analysis indicated that the genetic alterations of FAM83 genes might affect the survival outcomes of patients with OC. Furthermore, KEGG analysis suggested that FAM83D/H are involved in the progression of OC through the cell cycle signaling pathway, and they had significant co-expression relationship with cell cycle-related genes. Finally, immunohistochemistry analysis confirmed the high expression of FAM83H protein in OC tissue, suggesting that its expression is positively correlated with the FIGO stage and pathological subtype of OC.Conclusion: This study elucidated the expression status and prognostic value of FAM83 genes in OC and identified that FAM83D/H might be potential targets for the prognostic monitoring and targeted therapy of OC.Keywords: FAM83s, ovarian cancer, prognosis, immunohistochemistry, biomarker

Systematic review and Meta-analysis of efficacy and safety of dienogest in treatment of endometriosis

Drilling is a significant constituent part in the process of the exploration and exploitation of oil and gas. Capital expenditure spent on the drilling process make up large portion of the entire cost, and so much of the reason causing this consequence depends on the unwanted vibrations of drillstring. Unwanted vibrations may cause premature failure of drillstring and bottom hole assembly (BHA), excessive friction of bit and inefficient drilling. However, there are also wanted vibrations, which can enhance the drilling process. A large number of models have been developed in the past decades. Due to the complexity of surrounding, a wide variety of boundary conditions (BCs) and assumptions are typically made. This paper aiming at providing a broad review on coupled vibrations of drillstring including coupled axial–torsional vibrations, coupled axial–lateral vibrations and coupled torsional–lateral vibrations.

In order to detect the take-off forces of athletes in long jump, a novel force sensor based take-off board is designed. The take-off board consists of a standard take-off board, two novel force sensors, two support plates and a base. The working mechanism of the strain beam in the force sensor is analyzed and the finite element method(FEM) is used to investigate the structural deformation and stress distribution. Then the sensor is tested. The calibration experimental results demonstrate that the sensor has an excellent measurement linearity (0.6%) and can meet the requirements of practical applications. Then the multi-function take-off board based on the force sensors is designed and manufactured which can make the daily long jump training more scientific.

On the base of appraising synthetically of measuring and testing technique and the monitoring system of thickness, the article analyzed the demand of thickness deviation. It also determined the control core of single chip, and studied on the on-line monitoring system of the wood-based Panel thickness, which is measured by laser sensor and differential transformer sensor and based on the technique of wireless sensors in order to develop monitoring precision and automation standard of blank thickness in wood-based panel industry.

In order to address some deployment problems of IP multicast, the notion of Multicast Service Overlay Network (MSON) is proposed. How to construct MSON satisfying user’s demand efficiently under the situation of limited resources is a hot issue. In this paper we analyze a mathematics model of MSON construction. Under the objective of finding a virtual topology on top of physical network fulfilling all restrictions, and minimizing the cost of construction while keeping residual physical network the most balanced, an Integer Linear Programming model of the construction problem is depicted. In order to solve the problem efficiently, we propose a heuristics algorithm named BLMH. The efficiency of BLMH is evaluated by emulation experiment according to congestion link number under several scenarios.

With the development of next generation network which used Ipv6 technology, recent routers architecture meet many questions in performance, complexity and power consumption. With the expanding of network scale, how to implement a low power and MSF for IP lookup is a challenge in green high-powered router design. This paper represents a FIB multi-level mapping routing lookup architecture FMML, the dynamic routing table mapping algorithm is designed to determine the optimal strides for building tree bitmap tries so that the worst-case power consumption of the IP lookup engine is minimized. Experiments using real-life routing tables demonstrate that careful design of the data structure can reduce the power consumption dramatically.

To investigate the efficacy of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) for acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) in children.The clinical data of 38 children (2-15 years old) with AIDS from a region of Rwanda and who had received HAART were retrospectively reviewed.All of 13 children with anemia showed improved anemia symptoms after HAART. The hemoglobin contents returned to normal levels in 12 children with mild or moderate anemia. CD4 T lymphocytes increased by 24%-1 181% in 5 out of 6 cases with severe immunodeficiency after HAART. During the HAART, the weight gain averaged 2.3 kg yearly. The growth and development in 5 out of 8 children with delayed growth restored the levels of normal children of the same age after HAART.HAART can improve the health status in children with AIDS and is effective for childhood AIDS.

Methods for identifying essential genes currently depend predominantly on biochemical experiments. However, there is demand for improved computational methods for determining gene essentiality. In this study, we used the Hurst exponent, a characteristic parameter to describe long-range correlation in DNA, and analyzed its distribution in 33 bacterial genomes. In most genomes (31 out of 33) the significance levels of the Hurst exponents of the essential genes were significantly higher than for the corresponding full-gene-set, whereas the significance levels of the Hurst exponents of the nonessential genes remained unchanged or increased only slightly. All of the Hurst exponents of essential genes followed a normal distribution, with one exception. We therefore propose that the distribution feature of Hurst exponents of essential genes can be used as a classification index for essential gene prediction in bacteria. For computer-aided design in the field of synthetic biology, this feature can build a restraint for pre- or post-design checking of bacterial essential genes. Moreover, considering the relationship between gene essentiality and evolution, the Hurst exponents could be used as a descriptive parameter related to evolutionary level, or be added to the annotation of each gene.
