Abstract Life-time of the buildings is generally challenged by the act of nature. In-spite of the fact that the constructions provide minimum guarantee on quality and durability, certain mismatch in the composition of the materials, stress on the building, and chemical or physical imbalance of the materials, lead to surface crack. Cracks are also generated due to the shuffle of climatic conditions, which leads to the contraction and expansion of the building surfaces, and other damages. The guarantee on building safety and serviceability depends on how these buildings are successfully assessed and maintained. The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques, provide favourable solutions in-order to handle, manage and solve building cracks, through analysis using deep image neural network models, that perform classification of the building with crack images. As a result, a critical challenge for many civil engineering applications is the precise, quick, and automated identification of cracks on structural surfaces is addressed with the solutions provided by the deep image neural networks. In this research, we tackle the research gap and data scarcity by developing and curating a novel deep learning image processing for detecting cracks in brickwork. We also train and validate several deep learning models to classify brickwork images as either cracked or normal. The dataset of the proposed work contains 24,000 images which are classified through binary classes. These classes are generated for crack and non-crack images. The various parameters such as Batch size, Pooling, Activation functions Learning-rate, Kernel-Size, Normalization, and Optimizers are used for the evaluation of the model. The proposed work performs a comparative analysis of four deep image models such as Inception V3, VGG-16, RESNET-50 VGG-19, Inception ResNetV2 and CNN-RES MLP. With the analysis of all these models, the Inception V3 provides the best of all with the accuracy value of 99.98%. The InceptionV3 tops the Precision value of 99.99% and RESNET-50 tops the Recall value of 99.98%. The IncpetionV2 provided the best of the Region of Convergence value of 0.9999 which is the best among all the models for reliable and stable performance.

Abstract Artificial Intelligence techniques are being used to analyse vast amounts of medical data and assist in the accurate and early diagnosis of diseases. The common brain related diseases are faced by most of the people which affects the structure and function of the brain. Artificial neural networks have been extensively used for disease prediction and diagnosis due to their ability to learn complex patterns and relationships from large datasets. However, there are some problems like over-fitting, under-fitting, vanishing gradient and increased elapsed time occurred in the course of data analysis and prediction which results in performance degradation of the model. Therefore, a complex structure perception is much essential by avoiding over-fitting and under-fitting. This empirical study presents a statistical reduction approach along with deep hyper optimization (SRADHO) technique for better feature selection and disease classification with reduced elapsed time. Deep hyper optimization combines deep learning models with hyperparameter tuning to automatically identify the most relevant features, optimizing model accuracy and reducing dimensionality. SRADHO is used to calibrate the weight, bias and select the optimal number of hyperparameters in the hidden layer using Bayesian optimization approach. Bayesian optimization uses a probabilistic model to efficiently search the hyperparameter space, identifying configurations that maximize model performance while minimizing the number of evaluations. Three benchmark datasets and the classifier models logistic regression, decision tree, random forest, K-nearest neighbour, support vector machine and Naïve Bayes are used for experimentation. The proposed SRADHO algorithm achieves 98.2% of accuracy, 97.2% of precision rate, 98.3% of recall rate and 98.1% of F1-Score value with 0.3% of error rate. The execution time for SRADHO algorithm is 12 s.

Abstract With the advancement of this digital era and the emergence of DApps and Blockchain, secure, robust and transparent network transaction has become invaluable today. These traditional methods of securing the transactions and maintaining transparency have encountered many challenges. It includes some such issues as follows: data privacy, centralized vulnerability, inefficiency in fraud detection and much more. To that effect, and to address such limitations, this paper provides a blockchain technology framework that is driven by advanced machine learning techniques, which will enhance security and transparency throughout the network of transactions. We begin with a design framework based on Federated Learning for Blockchain Integration where distributed datasets across blockchain nodes contribute to a global machine learning model but do not share raw data samples. Different nodes learn their own models. After that, these local models are aggregated towards a common, global model using secure aggregation methods, which makes sure that there is nozza of data privacy and hence, in the process making sure that more accurate models can be obtained due to diversified data sets. With LSTMs Autoencoders, more excellent security protocols are created for anomaly detection and fraud. So, by training the autoencoder on normal transaction data, the system can alert transactions with high reconstruction errors, meaning real-time anomalies. This proactive detection of anomalies reduces fraudulent activities significantly as most of the threats are recognized early. To this end, this paper proposes Smart Contract-based Model Management for machine learning models in a decentralized environment. Smart contracts are responsible for the submission, validation, and execution of the locally updated models in a decentralized fashion such that the management process is transparent and tamper resistant. Integrity and authenticity requirements are fulfilled by enforcing consensus mechanisms. Privacy in Machine Learning is guaranteed through Differential Privacy and Homomorphic Encryption. Differential privacy techniques, so as to ensure individual transaction data privacy in the updates of the local model before aggregation. In homomorphic encryption, computations are made in the encrypted form so when forming privacy preserving global model, privacy is preserved. The Real-time analysis of the transactions can be done with CNNs to detect fraud. Streaming transaction data is analyzed by CNNs leveraging the privacy-preserving global model and producing immediate alerts and actions for detected fraud. This real timing makes the network even more reliable and trustworthy. Our proposed framework is effective according to the interim outcomes where the aggregation of local models occurred without data leakage, detected anomalies very efficiently, managed models very transparently, with privacy of data at a very high level, and easily detected fraudulent transactions. The work presented here provides a great boost to send secure and very easily transparent transactions across the network, and thus resulted in enhanced network trust and decentralization.

Abstract In the domain of passive brain-computer interface applications, the identification of emotions is both essential and formidable. Significant research has recently been undertaken on emotion identification with electroencephalogram (EEG) data. The aim of this project is to develop a system that can analyse an individual’s EEG and differentiate among positive, neutral, and negative emotional states. The suggested methodology use Independent Component Analysis (ICA) to remove artefacts from Electromyogram (EMG) and Electrooculogram (EOG) in EEG channel recordings. Filtering techniques are employed to improve the quality of EEG data by segmenting it into alpha, beta, gamma, and theta frequency bands. Feature extraction is performed with a hybrid meta-heuristic optimisation technique, such as ABC-GWO. The Hybrid Artificial Bee Colony and Grey Wolf Optimiser are employed to extract optimised features from the selected dataset. Finally, comprehensive evaluations are conducted utilising DEAP and SEED, two publically accessible datasets. The CNN model attains an accuracy of approximately 97% on the SEED dataset and 98% on the DEAP dataset. The hybrid CNN-ABC-GWO model achieves an accuracy of approximately 99% on both datasets, with ABC-GWO employed for hyperparameter tuning and classification. The proposed model demonstrates an accuracy of around 99% on the SEED dataset and 100% on the DEAP dataset. The experimental findings are contrasted utilising a singular technique, a widely employed hybrid learning method, or the cutting-edge method; the proposed method enhances recognition performance.

Abstract With technology development, the growing self-communicating devices in IoT networks require specific naming and identification, mainly provided by IPv6 addresses. The IPv6 address in the IoT network is generated by using the stateless auto address configuration (SLAAC) mechanism, and its uniqueness is ensured by the DAD protocol. Recent research suggests that IPv6 deployment can be a risky decision due to the existing SLAAC-based addressing scheme and the DAD protocol being prone to reconnaissance and denial of service (DoS) attacks. This research paper proposes a new IPv6 generation scheme with an improved secure DAD mechanism to address these problems. The proposed addressing scheme generates IPv6 addresses by taking a hybrid approach based on vendor id of medium access control (MAC) address, physical location, and arbitrary random numbers, which mitigates reconnaissance attacks by malicious nodes. To prevent the DAD process from DoS attacks, hybrid values of interface identifier (IID) are multicast instead of actual values. The proposed scheme is evaluated under reconnaissance and DoS attacks in the presence of malicious nodes. The evaluation results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively mitigates reconnaissance and DoS attacks, outperforming the EUI-64 and SEUI-64 schemes in terms of address success rate (ASR), energy consumption, and communication overhead. Specifically, the proposed method significantly reduces the average probing rate for scanning the existence of an IPv6 address, with only a 1% probing rate compared to SEUI-64’s 5% and EUI-64’s 100%. Furthermore, the additional communication overhead introduced by the proposed method is less than 13% and 11% compared to EUI-64 and SEUI-64, respectively. Additionally, the energy consumption required to assign an IPv6 address using the proposed method is lower by 12% and 5% when compared to EUI-64 and SEUI-64, respectively. These findings highlight the effectiveness of the proposed method in enhancing security and optimizing resource utilization in IPv6 addressing.

Abstract Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) causes slow death in brain cells due to shrinkage of brain cells which is more prevalent in older people. In most cases, the symptoms of AD are mistaken as age-related stresses. The most widely utilized method to detect AD is Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Along with Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques, the efficacy of identifying diseases related to the brain has become easier. But, the identical phenotype makes it challenging to identify the disease from the neuro-images. Hence, a deep learning method to detect AD at the beginning stage is suggested in this work. The newly implemented “Enhanced Residual Attention with Bi-directional Long Short-Term Memory (Bi-LSTM) (ERABi-LNet)” is used in the detection phase to identify the AD from the MRI images. This model is used for enhancing the performance of the Alzheimer’s detection in scale of 2–5%, minimizing the error rates, increasing the balance of the model, so that the multi-class problems are supported. At first, MRI images are given to “Residual Attention Network (RAN)”, which is specially developed with three convolutional layers, namely atrous, dilated and Depth-Wise Separable (DWS), to obtain the relevant attributes. The most appropriate attributes are determined by these layers, and subjected to target-based fusion. Then the fused attributes are fed into the “Attention-based Bi-LSTM”. The final outcome is obtained from this unit. The detection efficiency based on median is 26.37% and accuracy is 97.367% obtained by tuning the parameters in the ERABi-LNet with the help of Modified Search and Rescue Operations (MCDMR-SRO). The obtained results are compared with ROA-ERABi-LNet, EOO-ERABi-LNet, GTBO-ERABi-LNet and SRO-ERABi-LNet respectively. The ERABi_LNet thus provides enhanced accuracy and other performance metrics compared to such deep learning models. The proposed method has the better sensitivity, specificity, F1-Score and False Positive Rate compared with all the above mentioned competing models with values such as 97.49%.97.84%,97.74% and 2.616 respective;y. This ensures that the model has better learning capabilities and provides lesser false positives with balanced prediction.

Abstract The advancement in technology, with the “Internet of Things (IoT) is continuing a crucial task to accomplish distance medical care observation, where the effective and secure healthcare information retrieval is complex. However, the IoT systems have restricted resources hence it is complex to attain effective and secure healthcare information acquisition. The idea of smart healthcare has developed in diverse regions, where small-scale implementations of medical facilities are evaluated. In the IoT-aided medical devices, the security of the IoT systems and related information is highly essential on the other hand, the edge computing is a significant framework that rectifies their processing and computational issues. The edge computing is inexpensive, and it is a powerful framework to offer low latency information assistance by enhancing the computation and the transmission speed of the IoT systems in the medical sectors. The main intention of this work is to design a secure framework for Edge computing in IoT-enabled healthcare systems using heuristic-based authentication and “Named Data Networking (NDN)”. There are three layers in the proposed model. In the first layer, many IoT devices are connected together, and using the cluster head formation, the patients are transmitting their data to the edge cloud layer. The edge cloud layer is responsible for storage and computing resources for rapidly caching and providing medical data. Hence, the patient layer is a new heuristic-based sanitization algorithm called Revised Position of Cat Swarm Optimization (RPCSO) with NDN for hiding the sensitive data that should not be leaked to unauthorized users. This authentication procedure is adopted as a multi-objective function key generation procedure considering constraints like hiding failure rate, information preservation rate, and degree of modification. Further, the data from the edge cloud layer is transferred to the user layer, where the optimal key generation with NDN-based restoration is adopted, thus achieving efficient and secure medical data retrieval. The framework is evaluated quantitatively on diverse healthcare datasets from University of California (UCI) and Kaggle repository and experimental analysis shows the superior performance of the proposed model in terms of latency and cost when compared to existing solutions. The proposed model performs the comparative analysis of the existing algorithms such as Cat Swarm Optimization (CSO), Osprey Optimization Algorithm (OOA), Mexican Axolotl Optimization (MAO), Single candidate optimizer (SCO). Similarly, the cryptography tasks like “Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA), Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC), and Data sanitization and Restoration (DSR) are applied and compared with the RPCSO in the proposed work. The results of the proposed model is compared on the basis of the best, worst, mean, median and standard deviation. The proposed RPCSO outperforms all other models with values of 0.018069361, 0.50564046, 0.112643119, 0.018069361, 0.156968355 and 0.283597992, 0.467442652, 0.32920734, 0.328581887, 0.063687386 for both dataset 1 and dataset 2 respectively.

Abstract In the air-to-ground transmissions, the lifespan of the network is based on the “unmanned aerial vehicle's (UAV)” life span because of the limited battery capacity. Thus, the enhancement of energy efficiency and the outage of the ground candidate’s minimization are significant factors of the network functionality. UAV-aided transmission can highly enhance the spectrum efficacy and coverage. Because of their flexible deployment and the high maneuverability, the UAVs can be the best alternative for the situations where the “Internet of Things (IoT)” systems utilize more energy to attain the essential information rate, when they are far away from the terrestrial base station. Therefore, it is significant to win over the few troubles in the conventional UAV-aided efficiency approaches. Thus, this proposed work is aimed to design an innovative energy efficiency framework in the UAV-assisted network using a reinforcement learning mechanism. The energy efficiency optimization in the UAV offers better wireless coverage to the static and mobile ground user. Presently, reinforcement learning techniques effectively optimize the energy efficiency rate of the system by employing the 2D trajectory mechanism, which effectively removes the interference rate attained in the nearby UAV cells. The main objective of the recommended framework is to maximize the energy efficiency rate of the UAV network by performing the joint optimization using UAV 3D trajectory, with the energy utilized during interference accounting, and connected user counts. Hence, an efficient Adaptive Deep Reinforcement Learning with Novel Loss Function (ADRL-NLF) framework is designed to provide a better energy efficiency rate to the UAV network. Moreover, the parameter of ADRL is tuned using the Hybrid Energy Valley and Hermit Crab (HEVHC) algorithm. Various experimental observations are performed to observe the effectualness rate of the recommended energy efficiency model for UAV-based networks over the classical energy efficiency framework in UAV Networks.

Abstract In many emerging nations, rapid industrialization and urbanization have led to heightened levels of air pollution. This sudden rise in air pollution, which affects global sustainability and human health, has become a significant concern for citizens and governments. While most current methods for predicting air quality rely on shallow models and often yield unsatisfactory results, our study explores a deep architectural model for forecasting air quality. We employ a sophisticated deep learning structure to develop an advanced system for ambient air quality prediction. We utilize three publicly available databases and real-world data to obtain accurate air quality measurements. These four datasets undergo a data cleaning to yield a consolidated, cleaned dataset. Subsequently, the Fused Eurasian Oystercatcher-Pathfinder Algorithm (FEO-PFA)—a dual optimization method combining the Eurasian Oystercatcher Optimizer (EOO) and Pathfinder Algorithm (PFA)—is applied. This method aids in selecting weighted features, optimizing weights, and choosing the most relevant attributes for optimal results. These optimal features are then incorporated into the Multiscale Depth-wise Separable Adaptive Temporal Convolutional Network (MDS-ATCN) for the ambient Air Quality Prediction (AQP) process. The variables within MDS-ATCN are further refined using the proposed FEO-PFA to enhance predictive accuracy. An empirical analysis is performed to compare the efficacy of our proposed model with traditional methods, underscoring the superior effectiveness of our approach. The average cost function is reduced to 5.5%, the MAE to 28%, and the RMSE to 14% by the suggested method, according to the performance research conducted with regard to all datasets.

Abstract In modern healthcare, integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is highly beneficial and has made it possible to effectively control disease using networks of interconnected sensors worn by individuals. The purpose of this work is to develop an AI-IoMT framework for identifying several of chronic diseases form the patients’ medical record. For that, the Deep Auto-Optimized Collaborative Learning (DACL) Model, a brand-new AI-IoMT framework, has been developed for rapid diagnosis of chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and stroke. Then, a Deep Auto-Encoder Model (DAEM) is used in the proposed framework to formulate the imputed and preprocessed data by determining the fields of characteristics or information that are lacking. To speed up classification training and testing, the Golden Flower Search (GFS) approach is then utilized to choose the best features from the imputed data. In addition, the cutting-edge Collaborative Bias Integrated GAN (ColBGaN) model has been created for precisely recognizing and classifying the types of chronic diseases from the medical records of patients. The loss function is optimally estimated during classification using the Water Drop Optimization (WDO) technique, reducing the classifier’s error rate. Using some of the well-known benchmarking datasets and performance measures, the proposed DACL’s effectiveness and efficiency in identifying diseases is evaluated and compared.

Abstract Industrial advancements and utilization of large amount of fossil fuels, vehicle pollution, and other calamities increases the Air Quality Index (AQI) of major cities in a drastic manner. Major cities AQI analysis is essential so that the government can take proper preventive, proactive measures to reduce air pollution. This research incorporates artificial intelligence in AQI prediction based on air pollution data. An optimized machine learning model which combines Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) with the Decision Tree (DT) algorithm for accurate prediction of AQI in major cities of India. Air quality data available in the Kaggle repository is used for experimentation, and major cities like Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bangalore, Visakhapatnam, and Chennai are considered for analysis. The proposed model performance is experimentally verified through metrics like R-Square, RMSE, MSE, MAE, and accuracy. Existing machine learning models, like k-nearest Neighbor, Random Forest regressor, and Support vector regressor, are compared with the proposed model. The proposed model attains better prediction performance compared to traditional machine learning algorithms with maximum accuracy of 88.98% for New Delhi city, 91.49% for Bangalore city, 94.48% for Kolkata, 97.66% for Hyderabad, 95.22% for Chennai and 97.68% for Visakhapatnam city.

Abstract The consumption of water constitutes the physical health of most of the living species and hence management of its purity and quality is extremely essential as contaminated water has to potential to create adverse health and environmental consequences. This creates the dire necessity to measure, control and monitor the quality of water. The primary contaminant present in water is Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), which is hard to filter out. There are various substances apart from mere solids such as potassium, sodium, chlorides, lead, nitrate, cadmium, arsenic and other pollutants. The proposed work aims to provide the automation of water quality estimation through Artificial Intelligence and uses Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) for the explanation of the most significant parameters contributing towards the potability of water and the estimation of the impurities. XAI has the transparency and justifiability as a white-box model since the Machine Learning (ML) model is black-box and unable to describe the reasoning behind the ML classification. The proposed work uses various ML models such as Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machine (SVM), Gaussian Naive Bayes, Decision Tree (DT) and Random Forest (RF) to classify whether the water is drinkable. The various representations of XAI such as force plot, test patch, summary plot, dependency plot and decision plot generated in SHAPELY explainer explain the significant features, prediction score, feature importance and justification behind the water quality estimation. The RF classifier is selected for the explanation and yields optimum Accuracy and F1-Score of 0.9999, with Precision and Re-call of 0.9997 and 0.998 respectively. Thus, the work is an exploratory analysis of the estimation and management of water quality with indicators associated with their significance. This work is an emerging research at present with a vision of addressing the water quality for the future as well.

The burgeoning field of neurodegenerative disease detection and management necessitates the development of robust and comprehensive diagnostic approaches. Existing methodologies often fall short in effectively capturing the complex interplay of brain signals and genetic markers, which are crucial in the early detection and progression tracking of such diseases. This paper introduces a novel multimodal framework that leverages advanced signal processing and machine learning techniques to address these limitations, providing a more accurate and holistic understanding of neurodegenerative diseases. Our proposed model integrates multiple modalities: EEG signal analysis using Time-Frequency Analysis and Wavelet Transform, functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) analyzed through Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and Correlation Analysis, Magnetoencephalography (MEG) employing Beamforming and Source Localization Techniques, and Genomic Data analysis using Graph Neural Network for Genetic Pattern Recognition process. This integration is realized through the fusion of modalities using Gated Recurrent Units (GRU) and the classification into disease classes via an efficient 1D Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The reasons for selecting these methods are twofold: they address the non-stationary characteristics of EEG signals and exploit spatial information of brain activity, while also identifying functional networks and genetic patterns associated with neurodegeneration conditions. The clinical impact of this work is profound. Tested on the BioGPS and BrainLat datasets, our framework demonstrated a 10.4% increase in precision, 8.5% increase in accuracy, 8.3% increase in recall, 9.4% increase in the Area Under the Curve (AUC), 7.5% increase in specificity, and a 2.9% reduction in delay compared to existing methods.

There is an ever-growing need for optimizing efficient nano and quantum communication systems and this demand calls for more advanced optimization techniques than those that have been around for quite some time. The conventional genetic algorithms (GAs) proved to be quite helpful in general but proved to be poor when it comes to fast convergence and adaptability to the changing communication environment. Moreover, fault tolerance and resource efficiency in these communication channels are poorly addressed, giving rise to a huge roadblock to practical implementations in a number of different use cases. This research presents a set of novel hybrid optimization methods aimed at addressing the issues previously mentioned. In the first place, a Quantum-inspired Genetic Algorithm (QIGA) with Simulated Annealing (SA) Initialization is proposed through augmenting traditional genetic operations with the quantum computing paradigm. In the first instance, the hybrid approach works by utilizing the parameters derived from SA while initializing the GA population, hence effective exploration of solution space. Additionally, the Adaptive Genetic Algorithm with Reinforcement Learning (AGA-RL) is presented, which uses real-time feedback from the current environment to modify the GA parameters. This way, the system will be much more adaptive and hence be able to adjust the GA so that it can match the rapidly changing channel conditions. Simultaneously, the Fault-Tolerant Genetic Algorithm with Error-Correcting Codes (FTGA-ECC) is developed to ensure reliable data transmission, especially in an error-prone environment. To make up for resource constraints, the Energy-Aware Genetic Algorithm with Dynamic Resource Allocation (EAGA-DRA) strategy ensures that resources are well-managed by dynamically changing allocation based on the optimization process and the particular needs of the channel, hence reducing energy overhead and spatial overhead without compromising channel quality. A great leap is in the integration of Machine Learning through the Deep Reinforcement Learning-guided Genetic Algorithm (DRL-GA). The above approach exploits deep reinforcement learning to fine-tune the exploration and exploitation strategies of the GA, hence providing faster convergence and improved solution quality. All of these methods are validated by the Quantum-inspired Benchmarking Framework (QIBF), which forms a systematized comparative platform to evaluate different optimization techniques from the perspective of QCA-based communication systems. The above approaches not only provide the improvement in efficiency and reliability but also contribute to enhancing the adaptability of communication systems and provide a very good base for future research and development in the field of quantum communications and beyond, with potential applications extending to secure communication, quantum computing, and nanotechnology-based devices & scenarios. This work is multifold, promising significant advancements in the field of quantum communication and beyond. The empirical findings showed that the suggested algorithms perform significantly better than traditional approaches in several important performance metrics, such as robustness to channel errors, adaptability to changing signal-to-noise ratios, convergence speed under dynamic conditions, and solution quality in highly variable environments.INDEX TERMS Quantum-inspired genetic algorithm, adaptive genetic algorithm, fault-tolerance, energy-efficient optimization, deep reinforcement learning.

Abstract Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) become a promising enabler for the next generation of wireless networks with the tremendous growth in electronics and communications. The application of UAV communications comprises messages relying on coverage extension for transmission networks after disasters, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and dispatching distress messages from the device positioned within the coverage hole to the emergency centre. But there are some problems in enhancing UAV clustering and scene classification using deep learning approaches for enhancing performance. This article presents a new White Shark Optimizer with Optimal Deep Learning based Effective Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Communication and Scene Classification (WSOODL-UAVCSC) technique. UAV clustering and scene categorization present many deep learning challenges in disaster management: scene understanding complexity, data variability and abundance, visual data feature extraction, nonlinear and high-dimensional data, adaptability and generalization, real-time decision making, UAV clustering optimization, sparse and incomplete data. the need to handle complex, high-dimensional data, adapt to changing environments, and make quick, correct decisions in critical situations drives deep learning in UAV clustering and scene categorization. The purpose of the WSOODL-UAVCSC technique is to cluster the UAVs for effective communication and scene classification. The WSO algorithm is utilized for the optimization of the UAV clustering process and enables to accomplish effective communication and interaction in the network. With dynamic adjustment of the clustering, the WSO algorithm improves the performance and robustness of the UAV system. For the scene classification process, the WSOODL-UAVCSC technique involves capsule network (CapsNet) feature extraction, marine predators algorithm (MPA) based hyperparameter tuning, and echo state network (ESN) classification. A wide-ranging simulation analysis was conducted to validate the enriched performance of the WSOODL-UAVCSC approach. Extensive result analysis pointed out the enhanced performance of the WSOODL-UAVCSC method over other existing techniques. The WSOODL-UAVCSC method achieved an accuracy of 99.12%, precision of 97.45%, recall of 98.90%, and F1-score of 98.10% when compared to other existing techniques.

The greatest technological transformation the world has ever seen was brought about by artificial intelligence (AI). It presents significant opportunities for the financial sector to enhance risk management, democratize financial services, ensure consumer protection, and improve customer experience. Modern machine learning models are more accessible than ever, but it has been challenging to create and implement systems that support real-world financial applications, primarily due to their lack of transparency and explainability—both of which are essential for building trustworthy technology. The novelty of this study lies in the development of an explainable AI (XAI) model that not only addresses these transparency concerns but also serves as a tool for policy development in credit risk management. By offering a clear understanding of the underlying factors influencing AI predictions, the proposed model can assist regulators and financial institutions in shaping data-driven policies, ensuring fairness, and enhancing trust. This study proposes an explainable AI model for credit risk management, specifically aimed at quantifying the risks associated with credit borrowing through peer-to-peer lending platforms. The model leverages Shapley values to generate AI predictions based on key explanatory variables. The decision tree and random forest models achieved the highest accuracy levels of 0.89 and 0.93, respectively. The model’s performance was further tested using a larger dataset, where it maintained stable accuracy levels, with the decision tree and random forest models reaching accuracies of 0.90 and 0.93, respectively. To ensure reliable explainable AI (XAI) modeling, these models were chosen due to the binary classification nature of the problem. LIME and SHAP were employed to present the XAI models as both local and global surrogates.

In the current era, the environmental component of ESG is recognized as a major driver due to the pressing challenges posed by climate change, population growth, global warming, and shifting weather patterns. The environment must be considered a critical factor, and as evidenced by existing research, it is regarded as the dominant component within ESG. In this study, the ESG score is derived primarily from the environmental score. The increasing importance of the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors in financial markets, along with the growing need for sentiment analysis in sustainability, has necessitated the development of advanced sentiment analysis techniques. A predictive model has been introduced utilizing a nested sentiment analysis framework, which classifies sentiments towards eco-friendly and non-eco-friendly products, as well as positive and negative sentiments, using FinBERT. The model has been optimized with the AdamW optimizer, L2 regularization, and dropout to assess how sentiments related to these product types influence ESG metrics. The “black-box” nature of the model has been addressed through the application of explainable AI (XAI) to enhance its interpretability. The model demonstrated an accuracy of 91.76% in predicting ESG scores and 99% in sentiment classification. The integration of XAI improves the transparency of the model’s predictions, making it a valuable tool for decision-making in making sustainable investments. This research is aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 12 and SDG 13), contributing to the promotion of sustainable practices and fostering improved market dynamics.

Normal lung cells incur genetic damage over time, which causes unchecked cell growth and ultimately leads to lung cancer. Nearly 85% of lung cancer cases are caused by smoking, but there exists factual evidence that beta-carotene supplements and arsenic in water may raise the risk of developing the illness. Asbestos, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, arsenic, radon gas, nickel, chromium and hereditary factors represent various lung cancer-causing agents. Therefore, deep learning approaches are employed to quicken the crucial procedure of diagnosing lung cancer. The effectiveness of these methods has increased when used to examine cancer histopathology slides. Initially, the data is gathered from the standard benchmark dataset. Further, the pre-processing of the collected images is accomplished using the Gabor filter method. The segmentation of these pre-processed images is done through the modified expectation maximization (MEM) algorithm method. Next, using the histogram of oriented gradient (HOG) scheme, the features are extracted from these segmented images. Finally, the classification of lung cancer is performed by the improved graph neural network (IGNN), where the parameter optimization of graph neural network (GNN) is done by the green anaconda optimization (GAO) algorithm in order to derive the accuracy maximization as the major objective function. This IGNN classifies lung cancer into normal, adeno carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma as the final output. On comparison with existing methods with respect to distinct performance measures, the simulation findings reveal the betterment of the introduced method.

The proliferation of IoT services has spurred a surge in network attacks, heightening cybersecurity concerns. Essential to network defense, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPSs) identify malicious activities, including denial of service (DoS), distributed denial of service (DDoS), botnet, brute force, infiltration, and Heartbleed. This study focuses on leveraging unsupervised learning for training detection models to counter these threats effectively. The proposed method utilizes basic autoencoders (bAEs) for dimensionality reduction and encompasses a three-stage detection model: one-class support vector machine (OCSVM) and deep autoencoder (dAE) attack detection, complemented by density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) for attack clustering. Accurately delineated clusters aid in mapping attack tactics. The MITRE ATT&CK framework establishes a “Cyber Threat Repository”, cataloging attacks and tactics, enabling immediate response based on priority. Leveraging preprocessed and unlabeled normal network traffic data, this approach enables the identification of novel attacks while mitigating the impact of imbalanced training data on model performance. The autoencoder method utilizes reconstruction error, OCSVM employs a kernel function to establish a hyperplane for anomaly detection, while DBSCAN employs a density-based approach to identify clusters, manage noise, accommodate diverse shapes, automatically determining cluster count, ensuring scalability, and minimizing false positives and false negatives. Evaluated on standard datasets such as CIC-IDS2017 and CSECIC-IDS2018, the proposed model outperforms existing state of art methods. Our approach achieves accuracies exceeding 98% for the two datasets, thus confirming its efficacy and effectiveness for application in efficient intrusion detection systems.

While the world is working quietly to repair the damage caused by COVID-19’s widespread transmission, the monkeypox virus threatens to become a global pandemic. There are several nations that report new monkeypox cases daily, despite the virus being less deadly and contagious than COVID-19. Monkeypox disease may be detected using artificial intelligence techniques. This paper suggests two strategies for improving monkeypox image classification precision. Based on reinforcement learning and parameter optimization for multi-layer neural networks, the suggested approaches are based on feature extraction and classification: the Q-learning algorithm determines the rate at which an act occurs in a particular state; Malneural networks are binary hybrid algorithms that improve the parameters of neural networks. The algorithms are evaluated using an openly available dataset. In order to analyze the proposed optimization feature selection for monkeypox classification, interpretation criteria were utilized. In order to evaluate the efficiency, significance, and robustness of the suggested algorithms, a series of numerical tests were conducted. There were 95% precision, 95% recall, and 96% f1 scores for monkeypox disease. As compared to traditional learning methods, this method has a higher accuracy value. The overall macro average was around 0.95, and the overall weighted average was around 0.96. When compared to the benchmark algorithms, DDQN, Policy Gradient, and Actor–Critic, the Malneural network had the highest accuracy (around 0.985). In comparison with traditional methods, the proposed methods were found to be more effective. Clinicians can use this proposal to treat monkeypox patients and administration agencies can use it to observe the origin and current status of the disease.

Software-Defined Network (SDN) has become a promising network architecture in current days that provide network operators more control over the network infrastructure. The controller, also called as the operating system of the SDN, is responsible for running various network applications and maintaining several network services and functionalities. Despite all its capabilities, the introduction of various architectural entities of SDN poses many security threats and potential targets. Distributed Denial of Services (DDoS) is a rapidly growing attack that poses a tremendous threat to the Internet. As the control layer is vulnerable to DDoS attacks, the goal of this paper is to detect the attack traffic, by taking the centralized control aspect of SDN. Nowadays, in the field of SDN, various machine learning (ML) techniques are being deployed for detecting malicious traffic. Despite these works, choosing the relevant features and accurate classifiers for attack detection is an open question. For better detection accuracy, in this work, Support Vector Machine (SVM) is assisted by kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) with genetic algorithm (GA). In the proposed SVM model, KPCA is used for reducing the dimension of feature vectors, and GA is used for optimizing different SVM parameters. In order to reduce the noise caused by feature differences, an improved kernel function (N-RBF) is proposed. The experimental results show that compared to single-SVM, the proposed model achieves more accurate classification with better generalization. Moreover, the proposed model can be embedded within the controller to define security rules to prevent possible attacks by the attackers.

Performance and security are two critical functions of wireless ad-hoc networks (WANETs). Network security ensures the integrity, availability, and performance of WANETs. It helps to prevent critical service interruptions and increases economic productivity by keeping networks functioning properly. Since there is no centralized network management in WANETs, these networks are susceptible to packet drop attacks. In selective drop attack, the neighboring nodes are not loyal in forwarding the messages to the next node. It is critical to identify the illegitimate node, which overloads the host node and isolating them from the network is also a complicated task. In this paper, we present a resistive to selective drop attack (RSDA) scheme to provide effective security against selective drop attack. A lightweight RSDA protocol is proposed for detecting malicious nodes in the network under a particular drop attack. The RSDA protocol can be integrated with the many existing routing protocols for WANETs such as AODV and DSR. It accomplishes reliability in routing by disabling the link with the highest weight and authenticate the nodes using the elliptic curve digital signature algorithm. In the proposed methodology, the packet drop rate, jitter, and routing overhead at a different pause time are reduced to 9%, 0.11%, and 45%, respectively. The packet drop rate at varying mobility speed in the presence of one gray hole and two gray hole nodes are obtained as 13% and 14% in RSDA scheme.

Query processing is the key aspect in any of client-server application. Optimality is measured based on various concerns such as architecture base, search engines, query processor, query formalism, query representation languages, IO and storage cost. Researchers strived and provided various solutions for query process optimization in the past. Efficient query processing requires an advanced caching mechanism to reduce the query response time. Semantic caching produce results for optimizing the evaluation of database queries by caching results of old queries and using them when answering new queries. We use a collaboration of semantic caches in a cooperative way process to resolve user queries so-called cooperative semantic cache as an extension. As a novelty in this paper, a new way of cooperative semantic cache organisation is proposed, i.e., a paradigm for reference caching as prefix _index of query information to reduce access latency as well as fault tolerance. Intelligence is used for fetching the relevant cache content and its consistency. Optimality is measured with an empirical test on real time application.

Cloud computing has gained precise attention from the research community and management of IT, due to its scalable and dynamic capabilities. It is evolving as a vibrant technology to modernize and restructure healthcare organization to provide best services to the consumers. The rising demand for healthcare services and applications in cloud computing leads to the imbalance in resource usage and drastically increases the power consumption resulting in high operating cost. To achieve fast execution time and optimum utilization of the virtual machines, we propose a multi-objective hybrid fruitfly optimization technique based on simulated annealing to improve the convergence rate and optimization accuracy. The proposed approach is used to achieve the optimal resource utilization and reduces the energy consumption and cost in cloud computing environment. The result attained in our proposed technique provides an improved solution. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm efficiently outperforms compared to the existing load balancing algorithms.
