Introduction: It is known that physical activity is good for many diseases such as obesity, heart diseases, various types of cancer, musculoskeletal disorders. Compared to men, women's participation in physical activity is more limited. Physical activity, on the other hand, contributes to both the increase in the quality of life and the socialization of people. In this context, the aim of this study is to determine the self-confidence levels of women who regularly participate in physical activity. Method: In the research, besides the personal information form prepared by the researchers, the self-confidence scale was used. The sample population survey in Turkey Kocaeli province has created 408 women participating regularly in physical activity. In the analysis of the data, arithmetic means, frequency and percentage values were taken. As a result of the normality test, it was seen that it showed a normal distribution. Accordingly, independent sample t-test was used in the analysis of paired groups and one way Anova tests were used in the analysis of multiple groups. Results: As a result of the analysis, no significant difference was found in any sub-dimension according to the marital status variable. Significant differences were observed in the sub-dimensions of the scale according to the variables of income level, physical activity duration, education level and age. Conclusion: It has been observed that as the duration of physical activity increases, the level of self-confidence increases. In addition, it was concluded that age and educational status were directly related to self-confidence, and as education level and age increased, self-confidence increased.

WOS:000453583902039 Objective of this study is the embryo quality can be determined noninvasively using FTIR spectroscopy to analyze human embryo culture media in IVF treatment. In this prospective, double-blind study, embryo quality was determined by analyzing spent culture media after fertilization by ATR-FTIR spectroscopy and hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA). For each patient, transferred embryos were selected according to morphological assessment and ATR-FTIR studies were carried out collaterally without knowing the morphological grading of each embryo.

Spatial variation of temperature and relative humidity were estimated with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) at top, middle and base levels for peach storage and verified with measured data in an experimental cold store having a chiller unit. Cooling system set up at +1 degrees C and 90% relative humidity. Ansys Fluent Software was used for CFD modelling. CFD models were validated by using differences of model estimations and measurements and evaluated by using descriptive statistics and variance analysis. Mean differences between the model and measured temperature and relative humidity were calculated as 1.02 degrees C and 11.66%, respectively. Fruit firmness, total soluble solid, titratable acidity, pH, respiration rate, external appearance and flavour analyses were determined.

Kırım Savaşı’nın başlamasıyla birlikte Rusya’nın ve Avrupa Devletleri’nin Balkanlar üzerindeki faaliyetlerini kontrol edebilmek amacıyla bölgede haberleşme faaliyetlerine yönelik önemli adımlar atılmıştır. Sırp ve Avusturya baskılarının yoğun olarak yaşandığı Bosna Hersek coğrafyasında haberleşme ağının kurularak merkez tarafından sıkı bir denetim altında tutulması hedeflenmiştir. 1854 yılında İstanbul ile Edirne arası telgraf hattı tamamlandıktan sonra, 28 Mayıs 1855 tarihinde bu hat Varna, Şumnu ve Rusçuk’a kadar genişletilmiştir. Innovations have been made also in communications area as in other fields. Together with the telegraph system to start using its own geography, communications between central government and provinces were easier. Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the quite important province within others where its proximity to Central Europe as well as its strategic location. The first attempt was made on May 8, 1849 on the establishment of communication system in modern sense in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Important steps were taken for communications in the region with the start of the Crimean War in order to control the activities of the Russia and the European states on the Balkans. The aim of establishment of the communication network in Bosnia and Herzegovina was to keep under control against Serbian and Austrian intense repression on the region. After the telegraph line completed between Edirne and Istanbul in 1854, this line was extended to Varna, Ruse and Shumen, on May 28, 1855. After these developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the first telegraph link was held on August 18, 1858. Until the Austrian domination in Bosnia, telegraph services were delivered to every corner of Bosnia geography by the Ottoman Empire.

Bu araştırmada, Kozak Siyahı üzüm çeşidinde etanol, mentol ve thymol uygulamalarının soğukta muhafaza sürecinde etkinliğini belirlemek için kalite değişimleri incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla, etanol uygulamasında salkımlar %40 etanol içeren solüsyona batırılmış, mentol ve thymol uygulamalarında ise salkımların yanına 0.1 ml dozunda mentol ve thymol emdirilmiş gazlı bez konulmuştur. Bunun yanında kükürt içeren fumigasyon örtüsü ve uygulamasız kontrol grupları da oluşturulmuştur. Daha sonra tüm salkımlar polietilen torbalarla paketlenerek 0-1 oC ve %85-90 nispi nem koşullarında 90 gün süre ile depolanmış ve 30 gün ara ile bazı kalite özellikleri incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular sonucunda, üzümlerin modifiye atmosferde muhafazasında etanol, mentol ve thymol uygulamalarının kontrol uygulamasına göre daha iyi sonuçlar verdiği tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmada muhafaza süresi sonunda toplam fenolik bileşik, tanen ve antosiyanin miktarlarında düşüşler görülmüştür. Uygulamalar içerisinde mentol uygulamasının kükürt uygulamasına benzer etki gösterdiği ve alternatif bir yöntem olarak kullanılabileceği tespit edilmiştir

The objective of this study was to determine the interactions between alfalfa hay and corn grain particle sizes on nutrient intake, milk yield, milk composition, chewing activity, and ruminal pH of dairy cows. Alfalfa hay was chopped either at 4 cm (long; L) or 1 cm (short; S) theoretical length of cut. Particle size of corn grain was obtained by grinding either at 1 mm (coarse; C) or less than 1 mm (fine; F) mean particle size. Four lactating multiparous Holstein cows were assigned in a 4×4 Latin Square design in a 2×2 factorial arrangement of treatments with 21-day periods. Intakes of DM (DMI) and NDF (NDFI) were not different among treatments averaging 23.6 and 10.6 kg/d. Similarly, yields of milk and milk protein were not different among treatments averaging 22.8 and 0.75 kg/d, respectively. However milk fat yield tended to be higher for C (0.82 kg/d) than F (0.73 kg/d) corn grain. An interaction trend was observed between particle sizes of alfalfa hay and corn grain for milk protein percentage where it tended to be higher for SC (3.31%) compared to SF (3.23%). Chewing activity was not affected by any treatment. Ruminal pH was higher at 9 h of post-feeding for both SF (6.50) and SC (6.36) compared to LF (6.06) and LC (6.17). The data indicate that particle size of alfalfa hay had no effect on milk yield and any milk composition but diets containing C corn grain resulted in a higher milk fat yield., Bu çalışmada yonca otu ve dane mısır partikül büyüklüklerinin süt ineklerinde yem tüketimi, süt verimi, süt kompozisyonu, çiğneme aktivitesi ve rumen pH’sı üzerine olan etkileri araştırılmıştır. Yonca otu 4 cm (uzun; U) veya 1 cm (kısa; K) teorik kesim uzunluğunda doğranmıştır. Dane mısırın partikül büyüklüğü ise 1 mm (iri; İ) veya 1mm’ den daha küçük (ufak; U) partikül büyüklüğünde öğütülmeyle sağlanmıştır. Dört tane 2 veya üstü laktasyondaki Holstein inek 4×4 Latin Kare deseninde ve 2×2 faktör düzenlemesindeki muamelelere 21 günlük dönemde tahsis edilmiştir. Muameleler arasında kuru madde (KM) ve NDF tüketimleri yönünden bir fark gözlenmemiş ve ortalama 23,6 ve 10,6 kg/gün bulunmuştur. Muameleler arasında süt ve süt protein verimi yönünden de bir fark bulunmamış, sırasıyla ortalama 22,8 ve 0,75 kg/gün bulunmuştur. Ancak süt yağı verimi İ dane mısırda (0,82 kg/gün) U’ya (0,73 kg/gün) göre daha yüksek olma eğiliminde bulunmuştur. Yonca otu ve dane mısır partikül büyüklükleri arasındaki etkileşim yönünden, süt protein yüzdesi Kİ rasyonunda (% 3,31) KU rasyonuna (% 3,23) göre daha yüksek olma eğiliminde bulunmuştur. Çiğneme aktivitesi yönünden muameleler arasında bir fark gözlemlenmemiştir. Yemlemeden 9 saat sonrasındaki rumen pH’sı, KU (6,50) ve Kİ (6,36)’de UU (6,06) ve Uİ (6,17)’ye göre daha yüksek şekillenmiştir. Simple sequence repeat (SSR) DNA polymorphism is a PCR-based marker system, also known as the microsatellite marker system. SSRs are tandemly repeated 1 to 5 nucleotide units dispersed throughout eukaryotic genomes. They are considered one of the most powerful molecular markers for many diverse applications in genome related studies, e.g., DNA fingerprinting for discrimination of genotypes and genetic mapping. Locus specificity, co-dominant inheritance and easy detection with PCR amplifications are some of the favorable features of this marker system. On the other hand, isolation of SSR markers depends on time-and labor-consuming processes. The need to obtain sequence information for locus specific primer design is the major drawback. Therefore, the application of SSR markers in a cross-species manner would be valuable. In this study, two highly polymorphic barley SSR markers were used to test the cross transportability and polymorphism property of barley SSR primers on wheat genotypes. The results indicated that barley specific SSR primers could generate PCR amplification products on the wheat genome in the absence of polymorphism.

Bu araştırmanın amacı; soğuk depo sıcaklık ve bağıl nemindeki farklılıkların kasa içinde ortam özellikleri üzerindeki etkisini saptamaktır. Araştırmada deneysel bir soğuk depoda elma depolanmıştır. Sıcaklık ve bağıl nem, farklı seviyelerdeki kasalar içinde ölçülmüştür. Ayrıca kasa içindeki ortam özelliklerinin konuma göre değişimi hesaplamalı akışkanlar dinamiği ile modellenmiştir. Modellerin geçerliliği ölçüm sonuçları ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Ürün kalitesindeki değişimler belirlenmiştir. Soğutma sistemi +2oC’ye ve % 90 bağıl neme ayarlanmıştır. Model %5.68 hata ile sıcaklık ölçüm sonuçlarını ve % 3.23 hata ile bağıl nem ölçüm sonuçlarını tahmin etmiştir. Depo içinde alt, orta ve üst seviyelerin kalite kriterleri üzerindeki etkisi istatistiksel açıdan farklı bulunmamıştır. Ölçüm sonuçlarından da görüleceği gibi, sıcaklık ve bağıl nem açısından alt, orta ve üst seviyelerde farklılıklar olmasına rağmen, bu durum kalite kriterleri üzerinde olumsuz etki yaratmamıştır. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of the differences temperature and relative humidity in cold storage on ambient factors of boxes. Apple was stored in experimental cold storage. Temperature and relative humidity were measured in boxes located at different levels. In addition, spatial variability of ambient factors in the boxes were modelled by using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Models were compared with measurements for validation. Changing of stored apple quality was determined. Temperature was 20C, and relative humidity 90%. Developed model estimated temperature with 5.68 % error and relative humidity with 3.23 % error. Effect of measurement levels on quality criteria didn’t found statistically important. Although, there were difference between temperature and relative humidity for top, medium and base levels in the cold storage, these differences did not create negative effect on quality criteria.
