A medium-range order (MRO) structure characterized by the pre-peaks in the structure factor S(Q) curves of typical glass-forming Au55Cu25Si20 melt has been detected using the high temperature x-ray diffractometer. Combining the ab initio molecular dynamics simulations and the experiments, we explore and discuss the structure of the MRO cluster. During the rapid solidification, some structural information carried by the MRO structure is inherited from the melt to the amorphous solid, which promotes the glass formation. Through the comparison of microstructures between amorphous and crystal phases, we also discuss the heredity mechanism. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Based on our survey of recent articles, there is little research being conducted into quantitative analysis of the load balancing of Web server clusters. In this paper, we propose a quantitative analysis for DNS-based server clusters. We also propose a two-pass load-balancing method for determining the load balance area of these clusters. The first pass uses the lookup table instead of a complicated computation for obtaining the load balancing of the Web service requests. The second pass also utilizes a lookup table by a precomputed Hessian matrix to obtain the load balancing. In addition, we compare the relative performance of dispatcher-based and DNS-based server clusters using queuing theory, analysis, and simulation, and we compare the measurement results using benchmarks. To increase the simulation performance we have designed a simulation module to promptly locate the load balancing, with a potential improvement of 36.58% over the average system response time. Objective: To evaluate whether underdilated stent could reduce the occurrence of hepatic encephalopathy (HE) after transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) creation. Methods: A total of 197 patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis, who had underwent TIPS creation at Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, were analyzed retrospectively, including 110 males and 87 females with age 25-79 (54±11) years old. Uncovered and covered stents with 8 mm diameter were implanted in all subjects, and then dilated by balloon catheters with 6 mm or 8 mm diameter. The patients were divided into two groups, including underdilated group (6 mm, n =105) and control group (8 mm, n =92).Kaplan-Meier curves were used to illustrate cumulative rate of HE, and the differences were assessed with the log-rank test. Multivariate analyses with a Cox regression model were conducted to explore the risk factors for HE. Results: During a median follow-up period of 29 (12-54) months, 16 (15.2%) patients developed HE in the underdilated group and 27 (29.3%) patients in the control group. There was a significant difference in the cumulative rate of HE ( P =0.014), but no statistical differences were found in terms of variceal rebleeding, shunt dysfunction and survival between the two groups ( P =0.608, P =0.659, P =0.968). In multivariated analysis, group assignment (underdilated vs. control, HR =0.291, 95% CI 0.125-0.674, P =0.004) was identified as an independent risk factor for HE after TIPS creation. Conclusion: Underdilated TIPS could reduced the risk of HE compared with completely dilated TIPS, with comparable risk of variceal rebleeding, shunt dysfunction and mortality. And it is worthy of applying this technique to a large sample of patients in clinical practice.

In this work, we correlate the microstructure and passivation of the Al 95- x Ni x Y 5 lightweight glassy ribbons ( x = 7 and 10) using various techniques. The overdosed Ni ( x = 10) can increase the melt viscosity and then deteriorate its glass-forming ability (GFA), ribbon formability, and Y-depleted extra layer formation. Consequently, the overdosed Ni weakens the passivation stability and corrosion resistance of the as-spun ribbon. The key role of the overdosed Ni can form a strong network and crystalline grain boundary in the amorphous matrix, which can transport Y and O to participate in the oxidation. Objective: To investigate the effect of different mechanisms of liver-protection drugs in clinic and compare which one is best for the proliferation of irradiated HL-7702, laying the basis of liver-protection drugs choose in clinic on theory and practice. Methods: Human liver parenchyma cells HL-7702 were given single 6 MV X ray irradiation at a dose of 10Gy, the cells' morphology were detected under an inverted microscope at 24h, 48h and 72h. Then, MTT was used to assess the survival rate of the cells to evaluate the effect of the X ray. The representive medicines which mechanism may relate to RILD were chosen and diluted into various concentrations with culture medium according to clinical and relative reports. Different concentrations of medicines were used to protect the cells damaged by the X ray. Comparing the effect with MTT and measure SOD, MDA for the best one. Further research on its protection of oxidative damage. T-test, F test and non- paramiter test were used for statistical analysis. Results: 2.5 mg/ml and 1 mg/ml of magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate both have an effect on the proliferation of liver cells, especially the concentration of 1 mg/ml. The injection of polyene phosphatidyl choline show trivial effect at the concentrations of 250 μmol/L and reduced glutathione(GSH) did not demonstrate relative functions. Further research on the magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate, found its protection at 48h to oxidative damage ( P < 0.05), but the effect is weak at 24h and 48h. Conclusions: In three kinds of representing medicines, magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate has preferable effects on liver parenchyma cells and show a bright future in the treatment of RILD.
