Objective: This systematic review aimed to evaluate the acceptance level of atraumatic restorative treatment (ART) and Hall Technique (HT) among children, parents, and general dental practitioners. Method and materials: The study was registered in the PROSPERO database. Articles published between January 1960 and January 2021 were searched in 11 online databases and six textbooks according to PRISMA guidelines. Fifteen studies were chosen for qualitative and quantitative analyses. Among them, five studies focused on ART, seven studies on HT, and the remaining three studies compared both ART and HT. The children, parents, and general dental practitioners' acceptance were estimated using the DerSimonian-Laird randomeffects method based on both single-arm and two-arm approaches. The risks of bias were evaluated using Cochrane RoB 2, ROBINS-1, NOS, and JBI assessment tools, while evidence levels were determined using OCEBM. Subgroup analysis and meta-regression were conducted to assess the effect of different evaluation methods on the acceptance rates of ART and HT among children and parents. Results: The acceptance rates of ART among children, parents and general dental practitioners were 90.1%, 95.7%, and 67.7%, respectively, whilst the acceptance rates of HT were 88.3%, 85.7%, and 81.8%, respectively. Two-arm meta-analysis revealed no significant difference (P > .05) between the acceptance of HT and ART among children and parents, respectively. Subgroup analysis showed that using questionnaire-based evaluation had a higher (P < .05) acceptance value than using face scale-based evaluation. Conclusion: Both ART and HT are considered well-accepted among children, parents, and general dental practitioners, although general dental practitioners showed a slightly lower level of acceptance. A standardized evaluation tool for assessing acceptance level should be established for better comparison among published articles. Aim: Hall's technique (HT) has been established as a novel method for managing decayed primary molars. Despite good evidence of its effectiveness, the acceptability of HT among pedodontists, general dental practitioners, and undergraduate students are still noticeably low. The aim of this study was to review the available studies systematically by assessing the acceptability of HT under different experimental populations. Materials and Methods: A search was performed using three databases, Scopus, PubMed, and Google Scholar, published from 2003 to 2018. The keywords used in the search were "HT," "preformed metal crown," "acceptability," and "primary molar." After the relevant articles were found, the critical appraisal was made to select those that were suitable for the systematic review. The inclusion criteria of the study were surveys, clinical studies, no sample size restrictions, and only English language papers. Any conference abstracts, case reports, and unpublished data were excluded from this study. Results: On the basis of the keywords, 26 relevant articles were found and of those, 11 articles were selected for the systematic review. Conclusion: On the basis of the results of this study, it can be concluded that clinical trial can be an effective tool to assess the usage and acceptability of HT along with the questionnaire. Furthermore, there should be more questions, which can give information regarding the HT in children with special needs. Moreover, the study on the acceptability of HT could be conducted on other populations rather than Europe to evaluate the use rate of HT and its acceptability toward other regions. The presence of natal and neonatal teeth is a rare anomaly that can lead to various complications. This case report aims to highlight the potential delayed sequelae that can arise following the extraction of natal teeth. A boy aged three years and two months was referred for pain and an abscess on his lower anterior teeth. He had two natal teeth at birth, which were extracted on the second day of life due to excessive mobility and profound discomfort to the mother during breastfeeding. Surprisingly, he presented with pain in the same area where the teeth were extracted previously. Upon examination, residual root-like structures were observed at the sites of teeth 71 and 81, with an abscess noted on tooth 81. The radiographic assessment confirmed the presence of residual roots, prompting the extraction. History, clinical, radiographic, and histopathological evaluations strongly validate the diagnosis of residual natal teeth. Gentle curettage of the socket should be performed whenever possible following the extraction of natal teeth to prevent complications. Although residual tooth formation is uncommon, periodic follow-up is important to monitor for any potential problem and observe adjacent teeth eruption., Competing Interests: Human subjects: Consent was obtained or waived by all participants in this study.
