Intercropping system has been reported to enhance quality and yield obtained per unit area. Therefore, the current study was carried out to assess the impact of intercropping of Zucchini or broad beans with strawberry and also, intercropping (IC) Zucchini with broad beans on growth, quality, yield and the economic viability of the studied crops in the mixed IC, compared to the mono-cropping of these crops. A field experiment was carried out during 2017- 2018 and 2018- 2019. According to results of this study, intercropping of strawberry with broad beans achieved significantly the highest levels of anthocyanin content in strawberry fruits compared to the other treatments in both seasons. Maximum yield of strawberry crop was obtained from sole cropping as well as that obtained from strawberry-broad beans intercropping. Intercropping of Zucchini with broad beans resulted in significantly higher yields of both crops as compared with their sole cropping. Yield of broad bean and Zucchini increased by 18.1% and 26.9% respectively as compared with their sole cropping which indicate yielding efficiency enhancement as a result of intercropping. Land equivalent ratio (LER) of strawberry- Zucchini intercropping was, on average 1.2 for both years. Whereas, with regard to strawberry-broad beans intercropping was, on average for 1.3 for both years, while it was 2.45 when Intercropping Zucchini with broad bean. Intercropping Zucchini with broad bean gave the highest relative yield for both of them compared with the other treatments and also, the highest monetary advantage index (MAI). This study was conducted during two successive seasons of 2018 and 2019 on Balady Mandarin trees, 20 years old budded on sour orange rootstock and planted at 5×5m apart. Grown at the productive farm located at Shandawel Island, Sohag governorate. This experiment aimed to study the effect of active dry yeast, ascorbic acid, vitamin B complex and their combination on yield components, alternate bearing and fruit quality of Balady Mandarin cultivar grown under Sohage conditions. The obtained results showed that using of active dry yeast at 10g/l (as soil application) as single application or in combination with ascorbic acid and vitamin B complex at 1g/l from each (foliar application) caused a pronounced increasing of fruit numbers, fruit weight (g) and yield (kg). The later also improved fruit quality in terms of TSS%, TSS/acid ratio as well as total sugars, vitamin C content and reducing total acidity of Balady Mandarin fruits. According to results of the current study it could be concluded that using active dry yeast at 10g/l (as soil application) as single treatment or in combination with spraying ascorbic acid (1g/l) plus vitamin B complex (1g/l) three times on the first week of May, July and September led to improve both yield and fruit quality of Balady Mandarin Cultivar under Sohage environmental conditions. This investigation was carried out during 2012 and 2013 seasons to study the effect of ethanol extracted propolis (EEP) at 2, 3 and 5% on fruit quality and storability of Balady Orange fruits during cold storage. Propolis was applied once or twice pre and post harvest then the fruits were stored at 5-7°C with 905 RH for ten weeks. Prolonging cold storage significantly increased weight loss %, undesirable fruits %, TSS% and TSS/acid ratio while gradually decreased total acidity and vitamin C content. All propolis treatments significantly decreased fruit weight loss % and undesirable fruit % compared to untreated fruits. On the other hand, all treatments failed to show any significant effects on fruit quality parameters. No significant effects were observed due to using propolis once at post-harvest or twice pre and post-harvest. The best treatment was using EEP at 5% dipped once at post-harvest which prolong cold storage period without great reduction in fruit quality. It is recommended to dip 5% (EEP) at post-harvest extend life and keep fruit quality of Balady Oranges during cold storage instead of using fungicides in order to save human health and environment. This investigation was conducted during two seasons of 2012 and 2013 to study the effect of some post- harvest treatments on storability and quality of Manfalouty pomegranate fruits during storage at ambient temperature. The storage treatments are Nigalla sativa coating oil or wrapping singly or in combination. Sample of each treatments were randomly taken weekly. The obtained data illustrated that undesirable fruits percentage and fruit weight loss %, increased by extending room temperature storage period till 7 weeks. The most clear reduction was associated with untreated fruits where the less values were related with fruit oil coating or fungicidal tissue paper wrappeing singly or in combination. While, juice volume per 100 gm arils gradually decreased by extending room temperature storage period. Generally, all treatments of oil coating or any of wrapping materials singly or in combination of oil +fungicidal treated tissue paper wrapping, Nigella sativa essential oil, Nigella sativa essential oil coating + perforated polyethylene wrapping, fungicidal treated tissue paper wrapping and perforated significantly reduced the undesirable fruit and fruit weight loss percentage and significantly increased the juice volume contents compared the untreated fruits during room temperature storage for seven weeks. Its clear to notice that prolonging room temperature storage for 7 weeks caused an increase of total soluble solids % and TSS/acid ratio. While Titratable acidity and vitamin C contents in stored fruits were reduced. Moreover, all treatments significantly decreased the TSS, acidity and increased the TSS/acid ratio and vitamin C content compared to untreated ones. So, it could be concluded that it is important to use Nigella sativa essential oil coating and polyolephinic heat-shrinkable film wrapping to extend the storage life of pomegranate fruits and kept the original quality of the freshly harvested of Manfaluty pomegranate fruits.
