Abstract

In High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission system applications, the control and protection system plays an essential role in the overall performance. This paper aims to give solutions to some performance problems that can occur in the HVDC link. In this paper, ways to mitigate this serious malfunction of the commutation failure process in the operation of HVDC converters are studied and protection functions like the Commutation Failure Prevention (CFPREV) have been used. Furthermore, HVDC transmission systems are vulnerable to DC faults and its protection becomes ever more important with the fast growth in the number of installations. In this context, the DC fault protection function is one of the most important challenges to the development of HVDC transmission systems. The dynamics of the studied power system including the HVDC link are thoroughly investigated in this paper through various simulation scenarios. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

13. Performance of Organic Solar Cells with Recovery

Abstract

In this paper, we have studied the degradation of organic solar cells (OSCs) in different way considering the recovery phenomenon. The carried out work is based on the application of outdoor test in the SDU laboratory (Sonderborg Denmark) by using the protocol ISOS-O-1. The test took 14 days, this duration is divided into two parts: first part 5 days where the samples were put in the roof for the degradation for 7 hours and we measure the electric parameters before putting them on the roof and in the glovebox. In the second part the samples were put in the glovebox for all the remaining days and different parameters have been measured two times per-day (morning-evening) the duration of the second part is 9 days.

Abstract

Some Artificial neural network algorithms have been used to predict properties of high voltage electrical insulation under thermal aging in term to reduce the aging experiment time. In this work we present a short comparison of the obtained results in the case of Cross-linked Polyethylene (XLPE). The theoretical and the experimental results are concordant. As a neural network application, we propose a new method based on Radial Basis Function Gaussian network (RBFG) trained by two algorithms: Random Optimization Method (ROM) and Back-propagation (BP).

Abstract

This paper presents a general partial differential equation toolbox 3D under environment Matlab able to analysis of 3D FEM time harmonic problems in piezoelectric materials. The governing equations of these phenomena are solved simultaneously using a strong coupling model based on the finite element method, the model applied to a piezoelectric beam bending actuator and the results are compared with Comsol Multiphysics results and theory result.
