Strawberry is a delicious fruit that can be consumed fresh or/and can be used in the industry. One of the important factors that affect yield is the plant protection problems. Fungicides because of the metabolites they produce, especially their presence in foods, pose a threat to health and also cause economic problems. Botrytis cinerea causes grey mold disease in over 220 plant species. Samples were collected from five different localities from Aydın and Mersin province. Samples were incubated on um and then isolated from mixed cultures. Morphological and molecular identification of the samples were made. Transposon sites were amplified with PCR. In total 154 B.cinerea samples were isolated of which Transposa 20.1%, Boty 46.1%, Flipper 10.4% and Vacuma 23.4%, in Aydın population Transposa 19.5%, Boty 48.3%, Flipper 9.2% and Vacuma 23.0%, in Mersin Transposa 20.9%, Boty 43.3%, Flipper 11.9% and Vacuma 23.9% were found. In the fungicide resistant test, in spore tests, Cyprodinil was found most effective while fenhexamid was found less effective. In mycelium tests, fenhexamid was most effective at the lowest concentration applied while carbendazim was found less effective even at the highest concentration. Although short-term results are limited, in long-term transposon profiling can help with disease management.

In this study, the antimicrobial activity of Pistacia terebenthus L. fruits extracts were tested against some pathogen microorganisms. Fruits of the plant samples were freeze-dried and powdered. 10 grams of this material was extracted separately in 150mL of methanol, ethyl acetate, and boiled water for 6 h. at Soxhlet. The extracts were concentrated and then kept at 4°C. The agar well diffusion method is used for testing the antimicrobial activities of extracts. The results of methanol extract of Pistacia terebenthus L. fruits was found to form larger zones against tested bacterial pathogens E. coli ATCC 35218,S. aureus ATCC 25923, S. typhimiriumATCC 14028, M. smegmatis ATCC 607, C. xerosis ATCC 373. In addition the ethyl acetate and boiled distilled water extracts of Pistacia terebenthus L. fruits demonstrated moderate effect against some bacterial pathogens tested. However, none of the extracts used showed any effect on yeast and molds.The ethyl acetate extract of Pistacia terebenthus L. fruits have effects on wider spectrum than methanol and boiled water extracts for revealing secondary metabolites like alkaloids, tannins, and flavonoids.

Forthe isolation of thermophilic yeasts, soil and water samples around of Bereketgeothermal plants in Buharkent district of Aydin province were used asmaterial. As a result of the obtained data and analyzes, itwas determined that certain strains showed homologies with the regions of ITS1and ITS2 at the rates of 98% and 99% of the isolates. Thesespecies are registered in GenBank Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain levule 23, Candida albicans,Candida albicans strain m74a,Pichia jadinii strainATCC 22023, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Kluyveromyces marxianus strain P2, Cyberlindnera jadinii strain h79b and Candida glabrata strain 86A are identified as yeastspecies., Termofilikmayaların izolasyonu için Aydın ili Buharkent ilçesi Bereket Jeotermaltesislerinin çevresindeki toprak ve su örnekleri materyal olarakkullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler ve analizler sonucunda, izolatların %98 ve%99 gibi değişen oranlarda belirli türlerinin ITS1 ve ITS2 bölgeleriylehomoloji gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Bu türlerin GenBank’ta kayıtlı Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain levure 23, Candida albicans,Candida albicans strainm74a, Cyberlindnera jadinii strain ATCC 22023, Saccharomycescerevisiae, Kluyveromyces marxianus strain P2, Pichia manshurica strain h79b, Candida glabrata strain 86A adlı maya suşları olduğu belirlenmiştir.
