Journalist PETER BERGEN is CNN's National Security analyst, and has spent much of his career reporting on al-Qaeda and the global jihadist movement. He has a new a biography of the founder of al-Qaeda, The Rise and Fall of Osama bin-Laden. In 1997, he travelled to Afghanistan for CNN to produce the first television interview of bin-Laden. He's published six books, including several about al-Qaeda. He was the only journalist to visit bin-Laden's Abbottabad compound after the US raid before it was demolished. His new book is based in part on materials seized in the raid, and also on hundreds of interviews, including conversations with a dozen of bin Laden's inner circle.
