Os objetivos do presente trabalho foram: - preparar catalisadores do sistema Zn0/Cu0 com compo sições químicas idênticas e iguais a 70:30::Zn0:Cu0, usan do vários métodos, a saber: co-precipitação dos hidróxidos de cobre e zinco; precipitação de Cu(OH)2 sobre Zn0; evaporação do.solvente da solução dos nitratos de cobre e zinco; e mistura mecânica dos óxidos de cobre e zinco. - proceder a tratamentos térmicos diferentes e a temperaturas de calcinação distintas. - avaliar a atividade catalítica dos catalisadores obtidos e tratados 'termicamente, usando a reação-modelo de decomposição do isopropanol, mantendo-se constantes a velocidade espacial e à pressão, e - determinar a influência da temperatura de reação sobre a atividade dos catalisadores. Observou-se que todos os catalisadores obtidos, foram seletivos para a reação de desidrogenação do isopropanol; houve uma marcada influência da temperatura da reação na atividade dos catalisadores, e o método de obtenção que apresentou melhores resultados de conversão do isopropanol foi o de evaporação solvente. The binary Zn0/Cu0 system has been reported in the literature as a very good catalyst for the synthesis anddecomposition of methanol, particularly at a composition of 70:30::Zn0:Cu0. It was, therefore, decided to study the influence of the methods of preparation on the activities of these catalysts. The objectives of the present work were the followings: - preparation of Zn0/Cu0 Catalysts with chemical Compositions identical and equal to 70:30::Zn0:Cu0 , using methods: co-precipitation of copper and zinc hydroxides, precipitation of Cu(OH)2 on Zn0, sol vent evaporation of copper and zinc nitrate solution, and mechanical mixing of copper and zinc oxides. - performation of different thermal treatments and calcinations at different temperatures. - evaluation of the catalytic activities of the pre pared and thermally treated catalysts, using the decomposition of isopropanol as a model reaction , at constant space-velocity and pressure, and - determination of the influence of reaction tempera ture on the activities of the catalysts. It was observed that all the prepared catalysts have been selective for the reaction of isopropanol dehydrogena tion. The activities of the catalysts are influenced notably by the reaction temperature and that the better results of isopropanol conversion have been obtained by the catalysts prepared by evaporation of solvent method.

Neste trabalho são estudadas a obtenção do propeno, a partir do propano e, do anidrido ftálico, a partir do o-xileno. São usados dois suportes: o óxido de nióbio (V) e o óxido de tântalo (V) preparados, a partir do ácido nióbico (CBMM) e por complexação com tanino respectivamente. Os catalisadores são preparados pelas técnicas de impregnação e ancoragem cuja fase ativa imobilizada é vanádio como especies VOx A caracterização dos sólidos e feita por analise térmica, difração de raios-X, área especifica, microscopia eletrônica de varredura, ponto isoelétrico, termo-redução programada, espectrografia ótica de emissão, analise química e testes catalíticos para as reações de oxidação seletiva do o-xileno a anidrido ftálico e desidrogenação oxidativa do propano a propeno nas temperaturas de 325 e 450°C respectivamente. Os resultados de caracterização apresentam similaridade na textura dos suportes o que praticamente e mantida nos catalisadores. Para as reações de oxidação seletiva do o-xíleno e desidrogenação oxidativa do propano os sólidos suportados em óxido de nióbio apresentam-se mais favoráveis à referidas reações. São propostos ensaios complementares basicamente de caracterização de superfície para todos os sólidos aqui citados assim como redirecionamento do estudo destes suportes, os óxidos de tântalo e nióbio. The catalysts of selective oxidation of gaseous hidrocarbons has been under research in last years as an alternative technology for some conventional processes. In this work the obtention of propene from the propane and the phythalic anhydride from the o-xylene are pointed out Two supports are used: the niobium oxide (V) and the tantalum oxide (V) prepared from the niobic acid (CBMM) and by means of complexation with tanine respectively. The catalysts are prepared by the impregnation and grafting techniques whose imobilized active phase is vanadium live VOx species. The characterization of the solids is done by thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, specific area, sweep eletronic miscroscope, isoelectric point, temperature-programmed reduction, spectrografic emission otic, chemical analysis and catalystic tests to the selective oxidation reaction from o-xylene to ptythalic anhydride and oxidative dehydrogenation from propane to propene in temperatures of 325 and 450°C recpectively. The results of the characterization present similarities in the texture of the supports that are maintained mainly by the catalysts. To the reactions of selective oxidation of o-xylene and oxidative dehydrogenation of propane, the supported solids in niobium oxide present themselves more favourable to the referred reactions. Complementary essays, basically of the surface characterization to all the solids referred here were proposed in addition to the redirection of the study of these supports, the tantalum and niobium oxides.

No presente trabalho é estudada a variação de atividade catalítica do óxido de cromo suportado sobre óxido do titânio em teores diferentes. São preparadas oito amostras de catalisadores de Cr2O3/TiO2 nas composições mássicas de catalisadores de 100:00, 80:20, 60:40, 40:60, 30:70, 20:80, 10:90 e 0:100 respectivamente, usando-se o método de evaporação de solução de nitrato de cromo (III) sobre o óxido do titânio. O precursor foi calcinado à 450, 600 e 700ºC, durante 5 horas. As atividades catalíticas são medidas em termos de desidrogenação do isopropanol num reator de fluxo contínuo, isotérmico e a pressão atmosférica. Observou-se: (I) A atividade constante durante 26 horas de uso contínuo do catalizador (II) Um efeito de difusão de massa externa para os fatores de tempo maiores do que 3,0 g.hmol - 1; (III) O aumento proporcional de atividade com a pressão parcial de isopropanol; (IV) A energia de ativação aparente de 20 KCal.mol - 1; (V) A diminuição de atividade com aumento da temperatura de calcinação na faixa de 400 a 700ºC; (VI) Um aumento de atividade (mol.h - 1.g do Cr. -1) até 25% de cromo suportado sobre TiO2, permanecendo, depois constante para os teores de cromo maiores do que 25%; (VII) Áreas específicas de 6,6 6,0 10,0 12,0 e 14,0 m2/g para os catalisadores de composição mássica 10:90, 20:80, 60:40, 80:20 e 100:00 respectivamente e (VIII) Pelas análises de raios-X, a não existência de nova fase. The catalytic activity of an oxide can be modified when supported or mixed whith another oxide. In the present work the catalytic activity of chromium oxide supported or mixed with titanium oxide In different proportions has b e e n studied. Eight samples of Cr2O3/TiO2 catalysts with mass compositions 0:100. 20:80, 40:60, 60:40, 80:20, 90: "0 and "00:0, respectively were prepared. The method of Impregnating chromium (III) nitrate solution on titanium oxide was used. The precursor was calcined at 450, 500 and 700 ºC for 5 hours. The cataivtic activities had been measured in terms of dehydrogenation of isopropanol in a continuous flow isothermic reactor at atmospheric pressure. it has been observed that (I) The activity of the catalysts remained contant for 26 hours of continuous use, (II) There was been external mass diffusion of the reactant for time factor having values higther than 3,0 g.hmol - 1; (III) The catalytic activity increased proportionalv with the partial pressure of isoaropanoI ., (IV) The average apparent energy of activity is 20 Kcal.mol -1, (V) The activity decreased while increase the catalyst calcination temperatures in the range of 450 to 700ºC, (VI) The activity in terms of mol.h -1.g do Cr. -1 increased till 25% of chromium mixed on TiO2 and remained constant for the values hither than 25%, (VII) the specific surface areas of the catalysts Cr2O3/TiO2 of compositions: 0:90, 20:80, 60:40, 80:20 and 100:0 were found to be 6.0, 6.6, 10,0, 12,0 and 14,0 respectively, (VIII) The X-Ray analysis results do not show the presence of new phase.
