In this study, we investigate the suitability offunctional near-infrared spectroscopy signals (fNIRS) for person identificationusing data visualization and machine learning algorithms. We first applied twolinear dimension reduction algorithms: Principle Component Analysis (PCA) andSingular Value Decomposition (SVD) in order to reduce the dimensionality of thefNIRS data. We then inspected the clustering of samples in a 2d space using anonlinear projection algorithm. We observed with the SVD projection that thedata integrity associated with each person is high in the reduced space. In thelight of these observations, we implemented a random forest algorithm as abaseline model and a fully connected deep neural network (FCDNN) as the primarymodel to identify person from their brain signals. We obtained %85.16 accuracywith our FCDNN model using SVD reduction. Our results are in parallel with theneuroscience researches, which state that brain signals of each person areunique and can be used to identify a person.

Delusions are among frequently encountered symptoms in psychiatric patients. However formal definition of delusions is inconclusive. The difficulty in distinguishing whether a thought is a delusion may partly be a consequence of the lack of operational criteria in commonly used diagnostic systems. This review article aims both to shed light on the cognitive explanations of delusions and thus provide benefit in recognition and comprehension of persecutory delusions in clinical practice. Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate early phase depression and anxiety in the proffessional athletes who underwent anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction and compare them with the functional improvement of knee.Methods: Thirty-eight patients (35 males, 3 females; mean age±SD: 26.84±8.03) were included in this study. Measurements were obtained immediately following the operation and at Week 6 of postoperative rehabilitation. A fast, simple and sensitive high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) method with UV detection was developed for frequently prescribed antidepressant, sertraline (SERT) and its main metabolite N-desmethylsertraline (DSERT), in human plasma. SERT and DSERT were extracted by an optimized solid phase chromatographic (SPE) method using C-18 cartridges and Clomipramine was used as external standard (ES). The analytes were separated on C18, 4.6 mm x 150 mm, 5 pm column at 50 degrees C with a mobile phase of 45% acetonitrile + 55% NaH2PO4 at a flow rate of 0.4 mL/min. Detector responses monitored at 4 different wave-lengths; 200-205-210-215 nm. The method proved to be rapid and effective for the plasma sample analyses of therapeutic drug monitoring for sertraline treated patients.
