This article aims to bring to the attention of European standard regulation bodies, the need of revaluing the importance of Human Factor (HF) in railway operation organizational processes. Roles and primary importance conditions for safety assurance are underlined in the paper and methodological approaches to the HF evaluation based upon deductive conclusion rather than inductive ones are suggested. Moreover, some key functions of railway service operators are considered and higher critical operative causes and conditions are analysed and discussed.
