The authors conducted studies to study the relationship between the functional activity of the kidneys, the detoxification activity of the liver and the structural features of the parenchymatous tissue of these organs under normal conditions and with external use of the laminar algae product “Lamidan”. The work was performed on 164 white outbred Wistar rats weighing 180-200 g. The work was carried out in accordance with current standards for working with laboratory animals. The results of many years of research have shown that normally the indicators of detoxification activity of the liver and functional activity of the kidneys practically do not change, and they correspond to the structural organization of the parenchymatous tissue of these organs, corresponding to the descriptions given in well-known manuals on the activities of these organs. The use of "Lamidan" activates the detoxification function of the liver by 28 % and the functional activity of the kidneys by 28.5 %, i.e. changes are unidirectional and proportionate. In the parenchyma of both organs, changes in the structural organization are recorded, characteristic of an increase in functional activity. Thus, there is a strictly interrelated set of stereotypical changes in the indices of the two organs under study, reflecting between the organs interrelations of functional systems.

The authors conducted a study on 35 white Wistar outbred rats to investigate the possibility of correcting acute kidney damage induced by the administration of phenylhydrazine at a dose of 100 mg/kg by introducing a mixture of sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate solutions into the body. The research results identified changes in the kidneys upon phenylhydrazine administration, including the loss of some capillary glomeruli, eosinophilic deposits in Bowman's spaces and tubular lumens, and lymphoid infiltration in the interstitium. Rats receiving a mixture of sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate solutions in their drinking water showed positive changes in their kidneys: no loss of capillary glomeruli was observed, and eosinophilic deposits were absent in most tubules. Lymphocyte aggregation was only observed around some renal vessels. The authors suggest that the intake of additional sodium and bicarbonate into the body, along with alkalinization of the primary urine, promotes the excretion of hemolysis products caused by phenylhydrazine, which contributes to renoprotection and preservation of renal parenchyma.

The authors, in a study on 25 outbred Wistar white rats weighing 180-200 g, determined the effect of Lamidana (a product from sea brown algae) on the structural-functional continuum, that is, the correlation of the functional activity of the liver parenchyma and its structural characteristics. Methods. The detoxifying function of the liver was studied by the duration of sleep of animals due to the action of anesthesia - intraperitoneal administration of sodium thiopental (estimate the rate of metabolism of thiopental, carried out by the cytochrome-P-450-dependent monooxygenase system of hepatocytes). The structural and functional state of the liver parenchyma was assessed according to the study of histological preparations. The results of the studies showed that under the influence of the external application of "Lamidin" in the test rats, the liver1s detoxification function is enhanced (significantly significant decrease in the duration of sleep of animals). At the same time, structural signs of increased functional activity of hepatocytes are determined in the parenchyma. Conclusions. The authors believe that "Lamidan", due to the peculiarities of its chemical composition, enhances the metabolic and functional activity of hepatocytes but does not damage the correlative relationships between the structure and function of hepatocytes.

The purpose of the work is a comparative assessment of the effect of boron hydrocarbonate sodium mineral waters with a varying quantitative and qualitative composition of macroelements and with different amounts of a bioactive element on the state of the urinary system of rats. Materials and methods. The work was performed on 81 white rats of the Wistar line of auto bred breeding, weighing 180-200 g. The rats were divided into four groups: group 1 - 21 intact rats served as controls; group 2 - 20 rats treated intragastrically with a soft probe MW "Polyana Ploskivskaya" at a dose of 1% of body weight daily, a course of 7 days; group 3 - 20 rats treated with MW "Polyana Kupel" according to the above method; group 4 - 20 rats treated with MW "Svalyava" according to the above process. Before removing the animals from the experiment, daily urine was collected from them; blood was also taken from the tail vein for biochemical studies. At autopsy, pieces of kidneys were taken for histological and histoenzymological studies (the activity of succinate dehydrogenase and lactate dehydrogenase was determined). Results. The histological studies showed no pathological changes in the kidneys were observed with the use of the studied boron MW. Still, there were structural changes, as well as an increase in the activity of redox enzymes. Changes in kidney function were unidirectional with using any of the investigated MW. Still, they had quantitative differences, which are less related to the amount of boron (in the form of orthoboric acid) in 1 liter of MW and more dependent on the osmolarity of the MW, the qualitative composition of macronutrients, and their ratio. Conclusion. We believe that osmolarity, as an integrated indicator of the state of the macronutrient component of MW, can be used to assess its effect on the structural and functional characteristics of the kidneys.

To investigate the effect of highly mineralized sodium chloride mineral water (brine) on the structural and functional state of rat kidneys with experimental distress. White female rats weighing 180 - 220 g were ranked into three groups: group I intact rats (control), group II rats with a distress model (duration 30 days); group III - rats with a model of distress, who from 15 to 30 day of experiment received a course of external procedures with rapes. In group II rats, the development of distress caused dystrophic changes in the kidneys, which led to inhibition of their urinary, ion-regulating and excretory functions. The widespread use of chemicals by modern society and the prevalence of harmful habits (alcoholism, tobacco smoking, drug addiction) leads to an unnaturally high intake of exogenous pollutants in the human body, which can cause damage to internal organs, including the reproductive system. The aim of this study was to determine the peculiarities of the reproductive system of women of reproductive age with liver dysfunction under the influence of exogenous pollutants, namely, due to harmful working conditions and tobacco smoking. Estimation of activity of liver enzymes was determined by the level of activity of alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, and gamma-glutamate transaminase. The first group (control group) included women with no changes in liver enzyme activity and no history of harmful working conditions or bad habits. The second group (comparison group) - women with no history of harmful working conditions and bad habits, but with laboratory data showing changes in liver enzyme activity. The third group included women who have been working with harmful substances for more than 10 years. The fourth group included women who have smoked for more than 10 years. Changes in objective indicators of women's reproductive system have been studied (vaginal discharge, elasticity of the vaginal wall, epithelial integrity, mucous membranes moistness, pH of the vaginal contents, cytological type, vaginal contents) for all groups. Gynecologic examination and evaluation revealed changes indicating the presence of candidiasis and bacterial vaginosis (caused by anaerobic microbiota) in women who worked in harmful working conditions and smoked, both with and without signs of inflammation. During the objective examination, changes in vaginal discharge were observed in women. Only in 20% of women with smoking habits and 10% of women with harmful working conditions there was no vaginal discharge, while in the control group, such women were the majority. In the group with signs of impaired liver function, the absence of discharge was observed in 30% of women. According to the results of cytological studies, a quarter of women who smoked and one in five women who worked in hazardous conditions had estrogen deficiency, apparently as a result of dysregulation disorders under the influence of pollutants. The inflammatory or cytolytic type of smear, which is a consequence of restructuring, was observed in most women from the smoking group. Also, in the two study groups, there was an increase in the number of cases of fungal or Gardnerella vaginal lesions. Disorders of the genital organs in women under the influence of exogenous pollutants are associated with hepatic and endocrine disorders. Obviously, the mechanisms of formation of the pathological condition cause these disorders, and since women working in harmful conditions and smoking have more developed gynecological manifestations, they have more developed symptoms. Inflammatory changes have been revealed in the cervix for up to 30% of women with the influence of xenobiotics. The relationship between the activity of liver enzymes and epithelial integrity has been revealed as the most significant correlation in study parameters (r=0.71 for alanine aminotransferase and epithelial integrity).

Objective - to evaluate changes in the structure and function of the liver and kidneys under non-lethal carbon tetrachloride intragastric administration. Experimental studies were performed on 46 white Wistar male rats. Within 7 days, the experimental group of animals underwent intoxication with the introduction of 0.5 ml of CCl₄. The state of liver function was evaluated by the activity of ALT and AST, the amount of bilirubin in the blood, the content of serum creatinine and urea, the amount of total serum protein. The state of renal function was assessed by changes in daily diuresis, glomerular filtration function, percentage of tubular reabsorption, serum creatinine and urea, indicators of chloride output and urine pH. The results of a study in experimental animals with the introduction of carbon tetrachloride showed that in the liver and kidneys there is a development of dystrophic lesions: vacuoles in the hepatocytes and endothelial cells of the glomeruli, disorders of the structural and functional organization of the liver parenchyma, swelling of Kupffer cells, swelling of the tubular epithelium, eosinophilic inclusions in the liver and renal interstitium. However, the activity of redox functions was maintained and this suggests that the detected changes are not irreversible. In the kidneys, tubular cortical degeneration was determined, which is obviously associated with the renotropic effect of gentamicin. At the same time, liver and kidney function changes. In the liver, the activity of transamination enzymes decreases, the level of urea and creatinine in the blood rises, and the level of bilirubin in the blood changes. In the kidneys, the rate of glomerular filtration and tubular reabsorption decreases, the level of creatinine and urea in the urine decreases, that is, urination and excretory function of the kidneys are impaired. The reaction to intoxication with carbon tetrachloride is also observed from other functional systems. In the peripheral blood, the number of red blood cells decreases (the transport function of red blood cells persists). The balance and intensity of lipid peroxidation processes and the antioxidant system are disturbed. Violation of the energy supply of the transmembrane potential, a decrease in ESR, and the content of total blood protein increases (the changes nomenclature of plasma proteins). With a non-fatal load of carbon tetrachloride, dystrophic changes in the liver and destructive changes in the kidneys were detected. The detoxification potential of the liver and urinary function of the kidneys decreased. Changes in nature were similar to those described in hepatorenal syndrome. However, taking into account that no nosology of liver damage was found, the activity of redox enzymes is preserved, the detected violations can be defined as pseudohepatorenal syndrome.

Background: Metabolic Syndrome (MS) is a widespread pathological condition, a group of interconnected metabolic disorders that contribute to the development of a number of severe noncommunicable diseases. Natural mineral waters of various compositions are widely used in the correction of MS. Their biological activity and specificity of action is associated with the presence of specific components (micronutrients, biologically active substances). At the same time, many researchers do not pay enough attention to the role of the biological activity of macro nutrients in low mineralized mineral waters., Objective: To assess the corrective effect of macro-components of mineral waters based on a comparative analysis of changes in the structure of internal organs of white rats with the MS model, receiving mineral waters of the same balneological type, but with different quantitative composition of macro components., Materials and Methods: The material for histological and histochemical tests were the internal organs of male white rats with body weight 280-320 g. Animals were ranked into 4 groups: I - rats served as a control, ӀӀ - rats with a model of MS; ӀӀӀ and ӀV - rats received the mineral waters against the background of MS modeling. The mineral waters used in the work were characterized by an increased (in close amounts) content of organic substances (C org.), similar in chemical but different in quantitative macro-component composition. At the same time, mineral waters practically did not differ in terms of total mineralization. Modeling of MS was carried out for 60 days by replacing 10% fructose solution in drinking water bowls, introducing white bread crackers into the diet, and excluding green mass from the diet. In groups where animals were corrected for MS, mineral waters were administered with an intragastric tube with olive at a dose of 1% of body weight daily, starting from the 60th day of the experiment, for 12 days. Upon completion of the experiment on day 72, histological sections (which were stained with hematoxylin-eosin) were prepared from the extracted pieces of the heart, stomach, liver and kidneys tissues. The succinate-dehydrogenase (SDH) and lactate-dehydrogenase (LDH) activity were determined on the prepared cryostat sections. Using a light microscope, changes in the structure of the above organs and changes in the activity of oxidative-restorative enzymes were evaluated., Results: The activity of oxidative-restorative enzymes was approaching normal; some manifestations of changes in water metabolism in the animal organism persisted. At the end of the use of both mineral waters, a significant decrease was found in the content of visceral fat around the intestines, renal capsule, under the pericardium, which correlated with a decrease in the animal's body weight and restoration of the fasting blood glucose level to the cereal level. The authors believe that the established features of the corrective effect of both mineral waters on changes in the structure of internal organs are explained not so much by the difference in the content and ratio of the bioactive component (C org.), but by differences in the content of macronutrients. In mineral waters obtained by rats of group III, the content of Cl- and SO4+2 ions is 2.30 and 3.67 times, and Ca2+ and Мg2+ ions are 2.75 and 4.57 more than in mineral waters, which received rats of group IV. The gold standard for the treatment of invasive bladder cancer recognized throughout the world is radical cystectomy with orthotopic ileocystoplasty using the ileal intestinal tract. The study of the effect of urine on the adaptation of the mucosa of the artificial bladder continues for the last twenty years. According to the researchers, the results are quite contradictory, as some scientists note the hypersecretion of sulphomucins, sialomucins, progressive atrophy of microvilli, adenomatous hyperplasia and dysplasia. The aim of investigation to study the features of the histochemically revealed activity of succinate dehydrogenase in the wall of the artificial bladder and ileum in experimental animals. The material of the present study were the results obtained from the study of 18 female mini-pigs aged 4-5 months and weighing 8-10 kg. The modeling of the artificial bladder was performed in experimental animals, by cystectomy and subsequent ileo-cystoplasty. Experimental animals with a bladder model in groups of 6 animals were withdrawn from the experiment 3, 6 and 12 months after operational modeling. As for the wall of the official bladder, the changes in the activity of the studied enzymes were significant and showed not only possible changes in the activity of the Krebs cycle, but also about periodic displacements of the accents of substrate maintenance. These changes, in our view, are related to the transformation processes in the structural elements of the ileum wall, from which an unproblem has been formed to fulfill new functional duties. Signs of a violation of energy metabolism indicate the processes of hypoxia in the tissue of the artificial bladder and require further study and observation.
