Abstract

Abstract In the hydrodynamical description of heavy-ion collisions, the elliptic flow $${\textrm{v}}_{2}$$ v 2 and triangular flow $${\textrm{v}}_{3}$$ v 3 are sensitive to the quadrupole deformation $${\beta _{2}}$$ β 2 of the colliding nuclei. We produce $${\textrm{v}}_{2}$$ v 2 and $${\textrm{v}}_{3}$$ v 3 ratios qualitatively and quantitatively in most-central Xe–Xe collisions at 5.44 TeV. By employing HYDJET++ model, we study the sensitivity of anisotropic flow coefficients and mean transverse momentum to the quadrupole deformation and system-size in isotopic Xe–Xe collisions. Flow observables strongly depend on the strength of nucleon–nucleon scattering occurring in even-A and odd-A nuclei. Flow for odd-A nuclei is suppressed in comparison to flow in even-A collisions. There exists a linear inter-dependence between $${\textrm{p}}_{\textrm{T}}$$ p T integrated anisotropic flow and nuclear deformation. Mean transverse momentum signifies the fireball temperature in body–body and tip–tip collisions. There exists a negative linear correlation of $$\langle {\textrm{p}}_{\textrm{T}}\rangle $$ ⟨ p T ⟩ with collision system-size and a positive correlation with nuclear deformation. Flow measurements in high-energy, heavy-ion collisions using isotopic collision systems, offer a new precision tool to study nuclear structure physics. Observation of nuclear structure properties like nuclear deformation in a heavy-ion collision such as this would be very interesting.

Abstract

Abstract In this study, we investigate the potential of heavy quarkonia within a magnetized hot QGP medium having finite momentum anisotropy. The phenomenon of inverse magnetic catalysis is introduced into the system, influencing the magnetic field-modified Debye mass and thereby altering the effective quark masses. Concurrently, the impact of momentum anisotropy in the medium is considered that influence the particle distribution in the medium. The thermal decay width and dissociation temperature of quarkonium states, specifically the 1S and 2S states of charmonium and bottomonium, are computed. Our results reveal that both momentum anisotropy and the inverse magnetic catalysis effects play a significant role in modifying the thermal decay width and dissociation temperature of these heavy quarkonia states.

Abstract

Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) is an important salad vegetable grown and consumed throughout the world for fleshy roots which has numerous categories– varying in root colour, size, shape and flavour. The uses of coloured radishes in the salads and their anthocyanins as colourants are gaining popularity because of the colour characteristics, health benefits as well as antioxidant activities. However, information on the genetic variability, heritability and inter-relationship of total phenolics, anthocyanins and antioxidant activities in pigmented radish is very limited, but pre-requisite to initiate breeding programme; and therefore investigated in the present study. Radish genotypes were significantly diverse for all the antioxidants; differed by 4.98-fold for total phenolics, 36.16-fold for anthocyanins content, 4.96-fold for FRAP activity and 4.03-fold for CUPRAC activity; and the genotypes accounted for >97% of total variations. The meager differences between phenotypic and genotypic coefficient of variation reveals the greater role of genotypes and lesser influence of the environment on the biosynthesis and accumulation of antioxidants. Significantly positive correlations along with higher magnitude for anthocyanins content, total phenolics, FRAP activity and CUPRAC activity (r= 0.823 to 0.964) could be used as indirect selection criteria for improving levels of antioxidant compounds. The estimates of heritability and genetic advance indicate the role of additive and non-additive genes for biosynthesis of antioxidants and root development, respectively; therefore, recurrent selection would be the best breeding approach to improve both the traits simultaneously in coloured radish.

5. Evaluation of Recurrence and Hearing Outcome for Inactive Squamosal Disease after Cartilage Strengthening Tympanoplasty

Abstract

Introduction Inactive squamosal disease is unique for having a conflicting treatment protocol, with an age-old debate between early surgical intervention or keeping patients in a long-term follow-up. The shifting paradigm is early intervention to prevent further progress into active disease and improve hearing outcome in its nascent stage. Objective To evaluate recurrence and hearing outcome in cases of inactive squamosal disease after cartilage strengthening tympanoplasty. Methods The study was conducted on 50 patients with inactive squamosal disease. Detailed examination was done to grade the retraction. All patients underwent autologous conchal cartilage tympanomastoidectomy with temporalis fascia grafting. Recurrence and hearing evaluations were done by pure tone audiogram at regular intervals for one year. Results Hearing loss was the most common presenting symptom. Isolated pars tensa retractions were more common (54%) than pars flaccida (12%), or those involving both (34%). Ossicular status was normal in only 14% of the cases, and the most common ossicular damage was to the lenticular process of the incus (52%). Three of the patients (6%) had residual perforation at the 3rd month of follow-up. Subjective improvement in hearing was reported by 42% patients. Hearing improvement greater than 10 dB was found in 24 patients (48%). Air–bone gap reduced from 25.16 ± 8.15 dB preoperatively to 12.90 ± 6.20 at 1 year of follow-up. Recurrence was seen in three patients (6%). Conclusion Early intervention by cartilage strengthening of weakened tympanic membrane and ossicular reconstruction not only offers better hearing results, but also prevents progress to active disease.

In The Indian economy ports are the main factors to doing trade between two or more countries. Ports cover miles of distance between countries and Indian ports are the bones of Indian exports in the terms of modes of transportation. Its major role is in sea transport, Inland waterways which pass through different seas and different rivers under inland waterways authorities. It boosts exports throughout the world for cheap transportation. Ports are the source where every ship comes for many purposes like exporting goods, maintenance, and halt where a particular amount of goods are shipped in specific ports. In this research paper, we use only secondary data find ands how the Sagarmala project is helping to grow the Indian economy through the ports and its connectivity infrastructure development.

Abstract We review the physics opportunities of the Future Circular Collider, covering its e+e-, pp, ep and heavy ion programmes. We describe the measurement capabilities of each FCC component, addressing the study of electroweak, Higgs and strong interactions, the top quark and flavour, as well as phenomena beyond the Standard Model. We highlight the synergy and complementarity of the different colliders, which will contribute to a uniquely coherent and ambitious research programme, providing an unmatchable combination of precision and sensitivity to new physics.

Abstract

In recent years, DC-DC converters find many applications in low to medium power range. The isolated converters are used in medium power application such as military, electric vehicle (EV) and space industries since they provide isolation between input and output and protection from input side faults. These are made capable of providing a specified output voltage by managing the PWM pulses delivered to the switching device's gate. This paper presents use of voltage feed-forward method which helps in suppressing effect of input line harmonics and disturbances and gives regulated output voltage. The converter is operating at a switching frequency of 140 kHz and behaviour of switching device is not taken into consideration. The converter has protection circuits like over voltage protection (OVP), over current protection (OCP) on input and outputs, under voltage protection (UVP) which protects from abnormal operating condition. The design and simulation results of the feed-forward technique with type-2 compensation and protection circuits are discussed.

Abstract Recent experimental observations of the charged hadron properties in $$U+U$$ U+U collisions at 193 GeV contradict many of the theoretical models of particle production including two-component Monte Carlo Glauber model. The experimental results show a small correlation between the charged hadron properties and the initial geometrical configurations (e.g. body–body, tip–tip etc.) of $$U+U$$ U+U collisions. In this article, we have modified the Monte Carlo HYDJET++ model to study the charged hadron production in $$U+U$$ U+U collisions at 193 GeV center-of-mass energy in tip–tip and body–body initial configurations. We have modified the hard as well as soft production processes to make this model suitable for $$U+U$$ U+U collisions. We have calculated the pseudorapidity distribution, transverse momentum distribution and elliptic flow distribution of charged hadrons with different control parameters in various geometrical configurations possible for $$U+U$$ U+U collision. We find that HYDJET++ model supports a small correlation between the various properties of charged hadrons and the initial geometrical configurations of $$U+U$$ U+U collision. Further, the results obtained in modified HYDJET++ model regarding $$dn_{ch}/d\eta $$ dnch/dη and elliptic flow ($$v_{2}$$ v2 ) suitably matches with the experimental data of $$U+U$$ U+U collisions in minimum bias configuration.

15. Effect of Chemical and Mechanical Weed Management on Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) Production and Relative Composition of Weed under Varanasi Region, Uttar Pradesh

Abstract

A two-year field experiment was conducted on potato crop to evaluate the bio-efficacy of herbicides, suitable doses and their feasibility with mechanical weed control method in terms of plant height, number of tubers and relative composition of weeds. The experiment was arranged in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications at the vegetable research farm Department of Horticulture, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India, during the winter season of 2017-18 and 2018-19. Randomly selected five plants were used as a sample for recording plant height and average number of tubers per plant in each plot. Plant height was measured at 30, 45, 60 DAS and at harvest then averaged and expressed in centimetres. However, the average number of tubers per plant was obtained by counting the tubers from the selected plant at harvest. For calculation of relative composition of weeds, by counting the number of weed species at 1.0 m2 randomly at one place in each plot at 15, 30, 45 and 60 DAS then expressed in per cent. Amongst the herbicidal weed management treatments, Paraquat dichloride 24% SL @ 2.0 L/ha had a significantly taller plants at 45 and 60 DAS and also produces the highest average number of tubers per plant. With respect to the relative composition of weeds, sedges (Cyperus rotundus L.) contributed the most to total weeds, followed by grasses (Cynodon dactylon L.) and broad-leaves weeds (Chenopodium album L., Parthenium hysterophorus L., Sonchus oleraceus L., Anagalis arvensis L., Oxalis spp., Spergula arvensis L.) at 15, 30, 45 and 60 DAS during both years. It is concluded that the application of Paraquat dichloride 24% SL @ 2.0 L/ha control weeds more efficiently thereby it helps in vigorous plant growth thus ultimately increases the number of tubers per plant.

Abstract

ABSTRACT For computerized analysis of respiratory sounds to be effective, the acquired signal must be free from all the interfering elements. Different forms of noise which can degrade the quality of lung sounds are recording artifacts, power line/Radio Frequency (RF) interferences, ambient acoustic interferences, heart sound interference etc. Such interferences adversely affect the diagnostic interpretations. Powerful denoising techniques are necessary to resolve this issue. A denoising scheme for lung sounds, based on Savitzky-Golay (S-G) filter is proposed in this paper. The order and frame length of the SG filter is determined objectively using the Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and computational time as objective function. Maximum SNR is observed when the frame length is nearest to the value just higher than the polynomial order. This observation holds good for different levels of simulated addictive Gaussian noise. The polynomial order of 8 and frame size of 9 are found to be promising with SNR of 10.401db at computation time of 2.1ms.

20. Thermal Instability in Nanoliquid Under Four Types of Magnetic-Field Modulation Within Hele-Shaw Cell

Abstract

The influence of trigonometric cosine, square, sawtooth, and triangular wave types of magnetic-field modulation in nanoliquid within Hele-Shaw cell is studied in this paper utilizing linear/nonlinear explorations. The solvability condition to the third-order solution of the referred model equation has been imposed to get the cubic Ginzburg–Landau equation (GBL-equation) which is utilized to measure the rate of heat (or mass) transfer. In the sequel, the influence of the nondimensional parameters is discussed graphically in detail. It is demonstrated that Prandtl number (Pr)/magnetic Prandtl number (Prm)/Lewis-number (Le)/redefined diffusivity-ratio (NA)/concentration Rayleigh-number (RS1) and magnitude of the magnetic-modulation (δ) destabilize the system, that is, the heat/mass transfer increases. On the other hand, nanoliquid magnetic-number (Q), Hele–Shaw number (Hs), and modulating-frequency (ω) stabilize the system. The outcomes demonstrate that the magnetic-field modulation can be imposed significantly to increase or decrease the heat/mass transfer.

Abstract

The Bardeen black hole solution is the first spherically symmetric regular black hole based on the Sakharov and Gliner proposal which is a modification of the Schwarzschild black hole. We present the Bardeen black hole solution in the presence of the de Rham, Gabadaadze, and Tolly (dRGT) massive gravity, which is regular everywhere in the presence of a nonlinear source. The obtained solution reduces to the Bardeen black hole in the absence of a massive gravity parameter, and the Schwarzschild black hole when magnetic charge $g = 0$. We investigated the thermodynamic quantities, that is, mass (M), temperature $(T)$, entropy ($S$), and free energy $(F)$, in terms of the horizon radius for both canonical and grand canonical ensembles. We checked the local and global stability of the obtained solution by studying the heat capacity and free energy. The heat capacity changes sign at $r = r_c$. The black hole is thermodynamically stable with a positive heat capacity $C > 0$ (i.e., globally preferred with negative free energy $F < 0$). 25. Transverse momentum spectra and suppression of charged hadrons in deformed Xe-Xe collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5.44 TeV using HYDJET++ model

Abstract

In this study, we systematically investigate deformed Xe-Xe collisions at 5.44 TeV center of mass energy. We exploit the Monte Carlo HYDJET++ model to compute transverse momentum ($p_{T}$) distribution, nuclear modification factor $R_{AA}$ and relative suppression in terms of $R_{CP}$ as a function of transverse momentum and centrality of collision of charged hadrons in body-body and tip-tip geometrical configurations, respectively. We have compared HYDJET++ model results to those from ALICE experimental data and AMPT model (String-Melting version) results. Minimum bias Xe-Xe collisions show a suitable match with ALICE experimental data at midrapidity. Average transverse momentum ($\langle p_{T} \rangle$) show strong centrality dependence. The contribution of hard parton scatterings to the total charged hadron yield is discussed. Both nuclear modification factor $R_{AA}$ and relative suppression $R_{CP}$ show a clear dependence on centrality as well as transverse momentum. The charged hadron observables show a clear dependence on the geometrical configuration of the collisions. HYDJET++ model justifies experimental data more closely than the AMPT model., 12 pages, 14 figures

Abstract

The past decade has seen a significant uptick in research interest to study the materials that can host magnetic skyrmion lattices. The curiosity of such materials is mainly driven by the technological applications of emergent skyrmion lattices that manifest a whirlpool-like spins arrangement. Insulating Cu _2 OSeO _3 reported to host magnetic skyrmion lattices below 60 K and considered as a potential candidate for exploring this new phase of materials. Here in this article, we propose a new synthesis process to grow the Cd ^2+ -substituted Cu _2 OSeO _3 nanocrystallites with variable sizes ranging over 50–200 nm. The proposed method consists of only a single-step heat treatment of 12 h, which is cost-effectivethan the routine solid-state process that requires a rigorous 15–20 days of heat treatment. By employing X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and isothermal magnetization (M-T) measurements, we present a comparative investigation of the structural, electronic and magnetic properties of pristine and Cd ^2+ -substituted Cu _2 OSeO _3 nanocrystallites. As non-magnetic substitution can alter the fundamental magnetic interactions, therefore, Cd ^2+ -Cu _2 OSeO _3 nanocrystallites offer a new methodology to control the magnetic skyrmion phases and its stability.

Women in India are facing several health-related issues, which ultimately affect the economic output of the nation. The health of Indian women is intrinsically linked to their status in society. Haryana and Uttar Pradesh are some of the few states in India which belong to Indo-Gangetic Plains where an overwhelming number of rural women have always been a part of the active work force in agriculture, forest protection, cattle care, and dairying. Present study is an attempt to know the food consumption and dietary intakes of farm women in rural sector of the UP and Haryana. Collected data were analyzed with the help of suitable statistical techniques. Education, energy consumption and protein consumption have significantly positive relationship with nutritional status of respondents, whereas family size has significantly negative relationship with nutritional status. It was found that the diets were inadequate in energy, protein, iron, β-carotene and ascorbic acid contents to the tune of 16.71 and 15.91; 7 and 10.58; 14.33 and 21.63; 25.66 and 34.33; 16.71 and 18.05 percent, respectively in selected villages of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. These comparisons were made with recommended dietary allowances (ICMR 2010). Iron intake in the daily diet of women in both villages was found to be 19.7 mg and 20.54 mg, which is 34.33 and 31.53 per cent less than recommended level (30 mg). Prevalence of Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) was found to be higher among the farm women of both the states.

Abstract

Analysis of high multiplicity events produced in 158A GeV/c 208Pb-208Pb collisions is carried out to study the event-by-event fluctuations. The findings reveal that the method of scaled factorial moments can be used to identify the events having densely populated narrow phase space bins. A few events sorted out by adopting this approach are individually analyzed. It is observed that these events do exhibit large fluctuations in their pseudorapidity, η, and azimuthal angle, ϕ, distributions arising due to some dynamical reasons. Two-particle Δη-Δϕ correlation study applied to these events too indicates that some complex two-dimensional structure of significantly high magnitude is present in these events which might have some dynamical origin. The findings reveal that the method of scaled factorial moments may be used as an effective triggering for events with large dynamical fluctuations.

The thermodynamic properties, i.e. free energy of mixing (GM), heat of mixing (HM), entropy of mixing (SM) and activity (ai) of the component i (i , and structural property i.e. concentration fluctuations in long wave-length limit [Scc(0)] of In-Tl binary liquid alloy at a specified temperature have been investigated in the framework of quasi-lattice model on assuming the coupled effect of size ratio and entropic (or energetic) as well as enthalpic effect. These properties of In-Tl liquid alloy at 723 K have been computed theoretically by estimating the best fit value of order energy parameter (W) and size ratio () over the entire range of concentration in order to match their experimental values. The best fit value of W at 723 K has been used to determine the values of W at different temperatures with the help of temperature derivative of W which are then used for the optimization procedure in order to calculate the corresponding values of excess free energy of mixing, partial excess free energy of mixing and activity of the components involved in the alloy at different temperatures. These parameters have been used to investigate the concentration fluctuations in long wavelength limit {Scc(0)} of In-Tl binary liquid alloy at different temperatures over the entire range of concentration which have been used to predict the various other structural properties like excess stability function (EXS), diffusion coefficient ratio (Dm/Did), short range order parameter (α1) at different temperatures. Abstract

Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) is an important salad vegetable grown and consumed throughout the world for fleshy roots which has numerous categories' varying in root colour, size, shape and flavour. The uses of coloured radishes in the salads and their anthocyanins as colourants are gaining popularity because of the colour characteristics, health benefits as well as antioxidant activities. However, information on the genetic variability, heritability and inter-relationship of total phenolics, anthocyanins and antioxidant activities in pigmented radish is very limited, but pre-requisite to initiate breeding programme; and therefore investigated in the present study. Radish genotypes were significantly diverse for all the antioxidants; differed by 4.98-fold for total phenolics, 36.16-fold for anthocyanins content, 4.96-fold for FRAP activity and 4.03-fold for CUPRAC activity; and the genotypes accounted for >97% of total variations. The meager differences between phenotypic and genotypic coefficient of variation reveals the greater role of genotypes and lesser influence of the environment on the biosynthesis and accumulation of antioxidants. Significantly positive correlations along with higher magnitude for anthocyanins content, total phenolics, FRAP activity and CUPRAC activity (r= 0.823 to 0.964) could be used as indirect selection criteria for improving levels of antioxidant compounds. The estimates of heritability and genetic advance indicate the role of additive and non-additive genes for biosynthesis of antioxidants and root development, respectively; therefore, recurrent selection would be the best breeding approach to improve both the traits simultaneously in coloured radish.

In this paper, authors have proposed a class of exponential dual to ratio type compromised imputation technique and corresponding point estimator in two-phase sampling design. Two different sampling designs in two-phase sampling are compared under imputed data. The bias and M.S.E. of suggested estimator is derived in the form of population parameters using the concept of large sample approximation. Numerical study is performed over two populations using the expressions of bias and M.S.E. and efficiency compared with existing estimators. Abstract

A field experimented was conducted at Vegetable Research Farm (South Block), Department of Horticulture, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh during winter season of 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 to study the effect of foliar application of various micronutrients on growth characters of cabbage. The results reveals that the maximum plant height (35.28, 37.67 and 36.47 cm during 2017-18, 2018-19 and pooled analysis, respectively), plant spread (94.44, 96.65 and 95.70 cm during 2017-18, 2018-19 and pooled analysis, respectively) and minimum stalk length (6.53, 9.04 and 7.78 cm during 2017-18, 2018-19 and pooled analysis, respectively) were observed with application of (T13) B-20 @ 0.075% + Mo @ 0.45% which was statistically at par with (T16) B-20 @ 0.100% + Mo @ 0.45%, (T15) B-20 @ 0.100% + Mo @ 0.30%, (T14) B-20 @ 0.100% + Mo @ 0.15% and (T12) B-20 @ 0.075% + Mo @ 0.30% during both the years as well as pooled analysis. However, least value of all growth characters was observed with (T1) control.

38. Combining ability estimates for yield and quality traits in line × tester crosses of bitter gourd (Momordica charantia L.)

Abstract

Thirteen parental lines and 30 F1 hybrids of bitter gourd obtained from Line × Tester mating design were studied to investigate the extent of combining ability for yield and quality characters. These parents along with their hybrids were evaluated in a randomized block design (RBD) with three replications. The analysis of variance for combining ability revealed that the mean sum of squares due to lines and testers were highly significant for almost all the characters under study except for vine length, number of primary branches per plant, fruit width and total soluble solids (TSS) content for which testers showed no significant differences. The estimated component of variance of specific combining ability (sca) was higher than general combining ability (GCA) for all the characters except fruit width indicating the predominance of non-additive gene actions for most of the characters under study. The lines IC-085612, Jaunpuri Green, IC-085611 and Katehi were found to be good general combiners for fruit yield as well as for quality parameters. These lines can be exploited in future breeding programme for improvement in bitter gourd. Among 30 cross combinations, the crosses IC-085611 × Meghna, OBGCS-1 × Katheri and Jaunpuri Green × Meghna exhibited high sca effects for various yield and its attributing traits. These crosses could be further exploited for the production of F1 hybrids.

Abstract

Chronic otitis media is defined as the chronic inflammation of the mucoperiosteal lining lining of the middle ear cleft which presents with recurrent ear discharge through tympanic membrane perforation. The study was planned to evaluate the patency of the aditus ad antrum in cases of chronic otitis media mucosal type, and its correlation with various direct and indirect indicators of blocked aditus. The prospective longitudinal study was conducted on 100 patients with chronic otitis media mucosal type. The commonest complaint of patients was ear discharge (100%) followed by hearing impairment in 72% patients.Tympanoplasty with antrotomy was performed. The patency and dimensions of the aditus ad antrum were assessed by saline water test. In 41% cases saline test showed blockade, on further drilling patency achieved in 27 cases with minimal drilling and dissection of mucosa with or without fibrotic mucosal bands. In rest 14 cases widening of aditus and atticotomy was required to achieve patency. Out of these nine were having associated tympanosclerosis and five were having edematous mucosa. Ossicular necrosis was seen on 18 cases. Presence of myringosclerosis and polypoidal edematous mucosa increases the probability of an obstructed aditus ad antrum. Mastoid antrostomy and water test for patency can be performed without additional cost and risk to the patient in minimal time and can be considered as the surest indicator of patency of aditus ad antrum.

Abstract

Consumption of vegetable with improved quality has been adopted as a strategy for ameliorating nutritional status of people. Not only improving quality but also upgrading the yield of the produce has become necessary to feed the growing population. Heterosis breeding has proven to be a quicker method in achieving this goal. The present research was conducted at the Vegetable Research Farm, Department of Horticulture, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi during Rabi seasons of 2017-18 and 2018-19, to estimate the heterosis in tomato for different yield and quality traits. Eight lines and three testers were crossed in a “Line × Tester” mating fashion to obtain 24 hybrids which were then used to evaluate for different traits along with their parents. The analysis of variance revealed that the estimates of mean squares for all eight characters studied were highly significant indicating wide genetic differences among the genotypes. The heterotic pattern for number of locules per fruit indicated that maximum per cent of significant relative heterosis in cross VRT-101-A × Arka Abha (63.04 %) followed by H-88-78-1 × Arka Abha (30.69 %) and VRT-06 × Pusa-120 (16.81 %). The cross combination Solan Vajra × Arka Abha followed by CTS-07 × Arka Abha and VRT-101-A × Arka Abha were noted to exhibit maximum per cent of positive significant heterobeltiosis in the extent of 23.30, 19.22 and 16.62 % respectively, in case of total fruit yield.

Abstract

Mycorrhiza refers to the symbiotic association between fungus and plant root. The arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis auguments the growth and plant resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses by enhancement through certain nutritional, biochemical, physiological as well as morphological plant responses thus it has gained a high degree of impetus in recent years. In this context, a study was conducted to study the effect of various mycorrhizae based products on growth and phytotoxicity characteristics of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) cv. Kufri Sindhuri during Rabi 2016-17 at Vegetable research farm, Department of Horticulture, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, BHU, Varanasi to evaluate the effect of various mycorrhizal products at different concentrations on growth and phytotoxicity characteristic of potato. The field experiment consisted of 8 treatments involving different mycorrhizal products including the control (untreated). From the experiment it was found that soil application with Myc100 at 250 g/ha (treatment T2) had very promising results for the investigated characters viz., number of leaves/hill (62.20), Plant height at 30 Days after planting (65.40 cm), Plant height at 60 Days after planting (98.24 cm) as compared to other treatment followed by T8- soil application with Bolt Gr at 10 kg/ha. The maximum number of haulms per plant was observed in treatment T6- soil application with Rhizomyxo 100 at 250 g/ha (4.35). No symptoms of phytotoxicity was observed in all treatments during crop growth.
