We propose an efficient algorithm to compute k-sided unbounding discrete oriented polytopes (k-UDOPs) in arbitrary dimensions. These convex polytopes are constructed for a fixed set of directions and a given center point. The interior of k-UDOPs does not intersect the scene geometry. We discuss several types of general geometric queries on these constructs, such as intersection with rays, and provide an empirical investigation on the limit of these shapes as the number of sides increases. In the 2D case, we extend our construction to planar shapes enclosed by arbitrary parametric boundaries with known derivative bounds.

The construction industry is an important branch of the national economy, the structure of which in Hungary is characterized by strong fluctuations. In Hungary, as a result of the government's family support measures, construction companies have faced a significant increase in demand in recent years. This effect was uneven in different statistical regions of the country, but affected the property and financial condition of construction enterprises throughout the country. Starting from 2020, the COVID-19 epidemic has in several cases negatively affected the studied indicators of the construction industry. The article substantiates the need and methods of economic analysis of the state of the construction industry, investigates the property and financial condition of construction enterprises at the national level and in three less economically developed regions of Hungary. Similarities and differences in the values of indicators of the structure of assets, liquidity, profitability and efficiency of enterprises of this industry in certain regions compared to national indicators, as well as possible reasons for the existing state, are considered. The study covered the period of 2016-2020, and the statistical sample took into account the organizational and legal form, the size of assets, turnover and the number of employees of enterprises. Only those companies that worked continuously during the studied period were included in the statistical sample. On the basis of the conducted studies, it was established that the share of current assets in the assets of the investigated construction enterprises has a tendency to decrease. At the national level, the expansion of borrowing capacity and favorable credit conditions have resulted in significant indebtedness, although, in addition to bank loans, liabilities to suppliers have also played a large role. On the basis of the study, it was concluded that the three studied regions are characterized by very similar phenomena of a financial nature, but significant deviations from national values were found for several indicators (e.g. capital strength).

The aim of this paper is to present the situation, interconnections and potential conflicts of interest of the different levels of the food supply chain in Hungary (production of raw materials, processing, trade), to give an overview of the situation of solutions to promote more sustainable and equitable supply chain operations (e.g. short supply chains, local products, quality systems), and to provide insights into one of the most important sustainability problems of the food chain, the phenomenon of food loss and waste. The paper presents, in a non-exhaustive way, relevant strategic and practical policy efforts, as well as locally based, socially driven initiatives and good practices. The Rural Prosperity MAP has identified needs and problems for which it makes policy recommendations, while also making suggestions for future research directions.

There is a significant divide between the larger cities of Hungary and remote rural area, in terms of skills, working conditions, and living standards of their inhabitants. Digital inclusion offers substantial economic and social opportunities in rural areas, but also raises major challenges. To tackle these challenges,the Hungarian MAPprovides a synthesis of statistical data, research findings, and policy aims relation to rural digitalisation, focusingon rural digital divide, agriculture, and smart villages.

Honey has beneficial physiological effects, it is a valuable agricultural export product and widely used worldwide as food and medicine also. The primary aim of this present study is to demonstrate the honey production and trade of the EU member states known as Visegrad Four between 2000 and 2018. Also an objective of this article is the calculation of the actual comparative advantages of the Visegrad Four in foreign trade in natural honey using the RCA (relative comparative advantages) indices. During the research and analysis, different international and EU Databases were used. Secondary data used in the analysis derive from the reports of National Apiculture Programmes, the European Commission and the European Committee and from the databases of Faostat, Trademap and the United Nations Comtrade Database. V4 countries account for about 25% of the total EU apiculture sector, and the cooperation of Visegrad Four countries in the field of beekeeping could make a major contribution to the competitiveness of the sector. Examining the import and export data, using RCA indices it was proved that Hungary has a comparative advantage in terms of natural honey, however the competitiveness of the beekeeping sector in the region depends on the common performance of all four countries. Due to the stability of the sector and the positive externalities, authors suggest the further support of the apiary in the region.

Innovation plays great role in organizational competitiveness and sustainable business processes and it should be a key success policy for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) all over the world. To this effect, the purpose of this study is to present a comprehensive understanding of the scientific studies made on the field of innovation and its effect on small and medium enterprises performance. A bibliometric study was used to analyze articles published between 1976 and 2020 and create an illustrative map of innovation in small and medium enterprises; a sample of papers gathered through Web of Science Core Collection database. Accordingly, there were found 2219 documents which were published in 332 sources. VOS viewer was employed to portray network analysis of, authorship, keywords visualization, citations, and countries dealing with the subject. SCIMAT software was also used to do longitudinal thematic analysis. Even though many countries, universities, research institutes, funding agencies, and authors contributed for the growth of this field of study, almost all are from developed nations. This study is one amongst the very few studies made using bibliometric analysis in this field. Moreover, the thematic network diagram reveals two other new themes in the subject, which are taken as knowledge seed, and have high potential for a future study.

Jelen korunk egyik fő sajátossága az átalakulás jelensége. Jelentősen változnak a globális erőviszonyok, s mindig izgalmas megvizsgálni azt, hogy ezek a hatások milyen hamar és milyen súllyal csapódnak le a mikrorégiók szintjére. Különösen igaz ez akkor, ha a vizsgált terület egy olyan országban van, mely e változások ütközőzónájának minősül. A kutatás 2021 nyarán indult Ukrajnában, a Kárpátalján, melynek fő célja a Mezőkaszonyi Kistérség társadalmi-gazdasági helyzetének, vállalkozásfejlesztési lehetőségeinek feltérképezése volt, szakirodalmi áttekintés, interjúk és kérdőíves felmérés segítségével. A vizsgált térség Kárpátalja egyik legnyugatibb területe, s egyben etnikailag a magyarság törzsbázisának számít. A vizsgálat lefolytatásakor már érezhetőek voltak az orosz-ukrán konfliktus, a közigazgatási reform, valamint a pandémia hatásai. A kutatás folytatásának pedig már új irányvonalat ad a jelenleg is folyó háború.

A pénzügyi kultúra, pénzügyi tudatosság, öngondoskodás témakörei egymásra épülő ismeretek, amelyek ismerete vagy az ismeret hiánya jelentősen befolyásolja a társadalom szereplőinek gazdasági jellemzőit, pénzügyi hátterét, anyagi biztonságát. A pénzügyi kultúra, a tudatos pénzügyi gondolkodás, a jövőbe tekintő öngondoskodás korosztályonként eltérő jellegű lehet, de elmondható, hogy a fejlődés bármely életszakaszban megtörténhet. A legcélszerűbb természetesen az lenne, hogy már iskolás korban megkezdődjön az edukáció, hogy a felnőttkorba lépők már tudatosan építhessék fel életük biztos pénzügyi alapjait. Kutatásunk a középiskolai korosztály pénzügyi kultúrával és öngondoskodással kapcsolatos ismereteire fókuszált, kérdőíves megkérdezés alkalmazásával, mely során 811, különböző iskolatípusokban tanuló középiskolástól kaptunk értékelhető válaszokat. Eredményeink rámutatnak arra, hogy mivel az iskoláknak jelenleg nincsenek egységes koncepcióik az ismeretek oktatására és a tantervek, szakképzési programtervek nem tartalmaznak tananyagot pénzügyi ismeretek oktatásához célszerű lenne ezt a témakört is az oktatásba bevonni.

A vállalkozásfejlesztés világszerte a gazdasági fejlődés egyik építőeleme, a vállalkozói attitűdök felmérése, a vállalkozóvá válás fejlesztése pedig az oktatási rendszer – ezen belül elsősorban a felsőoktatás – egyik kiemelt fontosságú feladata. Tanulmányunk célja összefoglalást nyújtani az elmúlt évek során végzett, az egyetemi hallgatók vállalkozói attitűdjeinek feltárására irányuló kutatásaink eredményeiről, valamint arról, hogy milyen modellt követünk a vállalkozáshoz kapcsolódó ismeretek oktatása során. Vizsgálataink alapjául a visegrádi országokkal (Csehország, Lengyelország, Magyarország és Szlovákia) közösen végzett kutatás eredményei szolgálnak. A négy közép-kelet-európai országban végzett kérdőíves kutatás fő célja az egyetemi hallgatók pénzügyi-gazdasági tudatosságának feltérképezése mellett a vállalkozói léthez kapcsolódó ismeretek és motivációk felmérése volt. Kutatási eredményeinket, a vizsgálatok tapasztalatait folyamatosan beillesztettük egyetemi képzéseink tananyagaiba, és megfogalmazódott az igény egy hatékonyabb, gyakorlatorientáltabb vállalkozás-oktatási modell iránt, hiszen a jövőbeli vállalkozóknak az általános menedzsment ismereteken túl az önálló döntéshozatalra, tervezésre, kommunikációra, stressz- és kockázatkezelésre, a változó környezethez alkalmazkodó üzleti modellek kialakítására való képességekkel kell rendelkezniük.

A méhészet mint gazdasági és társadalmi tevékenység jelentős hatással van a természeti környezetre, a fenntartható fejlődés nélkülözhetetlen eleme, továbbá fontos szerepet játszik a vidéki térségek fejlesztésében. A szektor jelentősége világszerte messze túlmutat termelési funkcióin, ökológiai és biológiai szempontból is meghatározó. Az ágazat így több okból is lényeges eleme a hazai gazdaságnak, a magyar állattenyésztéshez évente csaknem 25-30 milliárd forinttal járul hozzá. A Magyarországon megtermelt méz jellemzően a nyugat-európai országokba kerül, az utóbbi évtizedekben keresett exportcikk volt, azonban Magyarország mézkivitele az elmúlt években lassulni látszik. Jelen tanulmány egy cikksorozat második része. A kutatás célja az Európai Unió és hazánk méztermelésének és kereskedelmének bemutatása, valamint a megnyilvánuló komparatív előnyök vizsgálata. Hazai és nemzetközi adatbázisokat felhasználva ismertetjük a világ, az Európai Unió, valamint Magyarország mézkereskedelmét, a hazai méztermelés alakulását. Az export- és importadatokat vizsgálva RCA-indexek alkalmazásával igazoltuk, hogy hazánknak a természetes méz vonatkozásában megnyilvánuló komparatív előnye van. Az ágazat stabilitása és a pozitív externáliák miatt fontosnak tartjuk a méhészet további támogatását. ---------- Beekeeping, as an economic and social activity, has a significant impact on the natural environment. It is also an essential element of sustainable development and it plays an important role in the development of rural areas. The importance of the sector goes far beyond its production functions because it is ecologically and biologically decisive as well. Beekeeping is an important element of the Hungarian economy, it contributes almost HUF 25-30 billion a year to the Hungarian animal husbandry. Honey produced in Hungary typically is exported to Western European countries. It has been a popular export product in recent decades, but Hungary’s honey export shows a declining trend. The present study is the second one in a series of articles. The aim of the research is to present the basic tendencies, the main processes of the Hungarian beekeeping sector, the reasons of changes and the main challenges of the sector. Using domestic and international databases, we describe the honey trade of the world, the European union, focusing on the Hungarian honey production. Examining the export and import data by using RCA indices we proved that Hungary has a revealed comparative advantage in terms of natural honey. Due to the stability of the sector and the positive externalities, we suggest the further support of the apiary.

A méhészet alapvető szerepet játszik a mezőgazdaságban, egyrészt a növények beporzása, másrészt a méz és az egyéb méhészeti termékek előállítása kapcsán. A méhészet a magyar mezőgazdaság bruttó termelési értékéhez megközelítőleg 1%-kal, az állattenyésztés értékéhez csaknem 5%-kal járul hozzá. Az utóbbi években a Magyarországon megtermelt méz jelentős része, több mint 80%-a hordós kiszerelésben exportra került, jellemzően nyugat-európai országokba. Azonban a jelenlegi gazdasági helyzet komoly kihívások elé állítja a hazai ágazat szereplőit, Magyarország mézexportja csökkenő tendenciát mutat és a koronavírus által okozott gazdasági károk magyar méhészetekre gyakorolt hatása jelenleg még kiszámíthatatlan. Jelen tanulmány egy cikksorozat első része. Célunk, hogy a sorozat keretében bemutassuk a magyar méhészeti ágazat elmúlt 20 évének alapvető tendenciáit, főbb folyamatait, a változások alapvető mozgatórugóit és az ágazat előtt álló legfőbb kihívásokat. A cikk a magyar méhészet fontosabb gazdasági mutatóit és azok változásait ismerteti a 2000 és 2018 közötti időszakra vonatkozóan. Részletesen bemutatásra kerül a méhészetek és méhcsaládok számának, az éves átlagos méhsűrűség és méztermelés, valamint a méhcsaládonkénti éves átlagos mézhozam változása. Az eredményekből kiderül, hogy mely régiókban a legmagasabb a méhcsaládok száma, illetve a méhészetek területi koncentráltságát is bemutatjuk. Az elemzéshez felhasznált adatokat a magyar méhészeti nemzeti programok, az Országos Magyar Méhészeti egyesület (a továbbiakban OMME), a Központi Statisztikai Hivatal (KSH), a Faostat, a Statista és a Trade Map biztosította. ------------- The beekeeping sector plays a fundamental role in agriculture, on the one hand in the pollination of plants and on the other hand in the production of honey and other apiculture products. Beekeeping contributes approximately 1% to the gross production value of the whole Hungarian agriculture and almost 5% to the value of animal husbandry. In recent years, a significant part - more than 80% - of the honey produced in Hungary has been exported in barrels, typically to Western European countries. However, current economic situation poses serious challenges for the domestic sector - Hungary’s honey exports exhibit a decreasing trend, in addition, the impact of the economic damage caused by the coronavirus on Hungarian apiaries is currently unpredictable. The present study is the first part of a series of articles. The main research objective is to present the basic tendencies and main processes of the Hungarian beekeeping sector in the last 20 years. Furthermore, the research is intended to demonstrate the key drivers of changes and the main challenges facing the sector in the framework of the series. This current article provides a better understanding in the following characteristics of the Hungarian beekeeping sector - the most important economic indicators and their changes for the period between 2000 and 2018; the number of apiaries and honeybee colonies; the annual average honeybee colony density and honey production, and also the change of the annual average honey yield per bee colony. The results show not only which regions have the highest number of bee colonies, but also the territorial concentration of apiaries. The data used for the analysis were provided by the Hungarian National Beekeeping Programs, the National Hungarian Beekeeping Association (hereinafter OMME), the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO), FAOSTAT, Statista and Trademap.
