BACKGROUND: The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the significance of immunizations, particularly among susceptible populations such as children. This study examines the factors that influence parents decision to accept or hesitate in vaccinating their children in an urban environment. METHODS: A one-year cross-sectional study was carried out at a paediatric hospital in Tehran, Iran. The objective is to target a demographic of 226 children, aged 5 to 18, residing in metropolitan locations, over the period of June to August 2023. An extensive survey, built upon previous research, analyzed the variables that influence the reluctance and acceptance of vaccines. Data on demographics, vaccination status, and variables influencing hesitation or acceptance were collected. RESULTS: Out of the 226 participants, 22.1% of the children had received vaccinations. There was a correlation between parents getting vaccinated and greater rates of child vaccination (100% vs. 92.9%, p = 0.073). Significant relationships were seen between age, parental education, and past COVID-19 hospitalizations. The main motivations for vaccination were to guarantee safety (66%) and to avert serious illness (60%). The primary reasons for hesitancy were primarily attributed to worries regarding potential harmful effects (58%), lack of trust in the vaccine (19.9%), and uncertainties regarding its efficacy (15.9%). CONCLUSIONS: The research emphasizes key factors that have a significant impact on the COVID-19 vaccination of children, such as age, previous hospitalization experiences, and parental attitudes. To boost vaccination rates in this demographic, it would be beneficial to address parental concerns regarding vaccine safety and enhance educational outreach regarding the advantages of vaccines. Public health programs should prioritize clear and open information and precise treatments to decrease vaccine reluctance.

Despite childhood experiences' significant role in the pro-environmental behaviour of adults, this issue has insufficiently been addressed within the tourism and recreation context. The current study investigates how childhood nature-based recreation experiences (CHNREs) affect adults' pro-environmental behaviours (PEBs) in nature-based recreation through connectedness to nature, psychological ownership, and environmental knowledge. It also explores the mediating role of psychological ownership in the relationship between connectedness to nature and environmental knowledge with adults' PEBs in nature-based recreation. The study's population included young domestic Iranian visitors to natural sites, and 503 online questionnaires were analyzed employing structural equation modelling AMOS-SEM. The findings showed a significant positive influence of childhood experience on adult PEBs and supported the mediating role of the two variables: connectedness to nature and environmental knowledge. Despite the significant positive impact of environmental knowledge and connectedness to nature on psychological ownership, the mediating role of this variable in the relationship between environmental knowledge and connectedness to nature with PEBs was not supported. Background: This protocol recommends ways to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis on the association between isophorone exposure and cancer risk. Methods: This study will follow the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Eligible studies will include observational research examining the association between isophorone exposure and cancer outcomes. General search terms will be used to search databases such as PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus. Two independent reviewers will screen articles, extract data, and assess study quality and risk of bias. Data synthesis and analysis will include meta-analysis, subgroup analyses, sensitivity analyses, and assessment of publication bias. Results: The systematic review and meta-analysis will provide a comprehensive assessment of the association between isophorone exposure and cancer risk. Data from multiple studies will be pooled to achieve an overall estimate of the association, considering sources of heterogeneity and evaluating the quality of included studies. Publication bias will also be assessed. The findings will contribute to our understanding of the potential health effects of isophorone exposure and inform future research and decision-making. Background: Cobalt, a versatile transition metal, has widespread industrial applications, but its potential link to cancer has raised concerns. This systematic review and meta-analysis protocol aims to investigate the relationship between cobalt exposure and cancer incidence, addressing its implications for public health and occupational safety. Methods: A comprehensive literature search will be conducted in PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases up to August 2023. Eligible studies will include human participants exposed to cobalt, with cancer incidence as an outcome. Both observational and analytical study designs will be considered. Results: Quantitative meta-analysis will be performed using random-effects models to calculate pooled Incidence Rate Ratios (IRRs). Subgroup and sensitivity analyses will explore heterogeneity and potential bias. Findings will be compared with prior research to assess consistency and support.
