Background: Currently, compared to program hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, kidney transplantation is considered to be the preferred method of renal replacement therapy in patients with end-stage chronic kidney disease (CKD) in terms of patient survival and improvement in their quality of life (QOL). This study aimed to investigate the influence of the post-transplantation period and marital status on the health-related QOL of patients with CKD who underwent kidney transplantation. Methods and Results: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 78 patients who had received a kidney transplant from living related donors in the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation between January and April 2022. Kidney transplant recipients (KTRs) were divided into four groups depending on the time after kidney transplantation: 3, 6, 12 months, and 2 years or more after surgery. The study used 2 questionnaires. The first included questions about the sociodemographic data of patients; the second was the standardized health-related QOL questionnaire SF-36. This study of the QOL of KTRs, residents of the Republic of Uzbekistan, showed an improvement in most scales of physical and mental health components 12 months and 2 years or more after kidney transplantation. On the scales of physical and mental health components, unmarried KTRs had a higher self-assessment of QOL than married KTRs, and among married KTRs, those with children had higher QOL indicators. Conclusion: Clarifying how the time after kidney transplantation and individual sociodemographic and medical factors influence QOL indicators requires further research (including longitudinal studies) in a wider КTR population.

A first coordination compound of 2-aminobenzoxazole (2AB), namely, bis(2-aminobenzoxazole-κN3)bis(acetato-κ2O,O′)cadmium(II), [Cd(CH3COO)2(2AB)2], has been synthesized from ethanol solutions of Cd(CH3(COO)2 and 2AB. In the monoclinic crystals with the space group C21/c, the cadmium ions coordinate two neutral 2AB molecules in a monodentate fashion through the oxazole N atom, while two acetate ligands are coordinated through the O atoms in a bidentate manner. The coordination polyhedron of the central ion is substantially distorted octahedral. There are two relatively strong intramolecular hydrogen bonds in the complex molecule. Additionally, two intermolecular hydrogen bonds associate complex molecules into columns running in the [1\overline{1}0] and [110] directions. The Hirshfeld surface analysis shows that 45.7% of the intermolecular interactions are from H...H contacts, 24.7% are from O...H/H...O contacts and 18.8% are from C...H/H...C contacts, while other contributions are from N...H/H...N and O...O contacts.

In the title compound, 2C7H7N2O+·C2O42−, proton transfer from oxalic acid to the N atom of the heterocycle has occurred to form a 2:1 molecular salt. In the extended structure, N—H...O hydrogen bonds link the components into [100] chains, which feature R22(8) and R44(14) loops.

During systematic investigations of the biological action enhancement of well known compounds, a new metal complex, namely, bis(3,5-dinitrobenzoato)(ethane-1,2-diamine)zinc(II), [Zn(C7H3N2O6)2(C2H8N2)], was synthesized and the structure of its orthorhombic form has determined. The synthesis and crystal structure of the monoclinic polymorph has previously been reported [Ibragimov et al. (2020). Rep. Uzb. Acad. Sci. 1, 45–50]. The zinc ion has a distorted tetrahedral environment formed by two monodentate 3,5-dinitrobenzoato anions and chelating ethylenediamine molecule. In the crystal, the complex molecules are linked by N—H...O and C—H...O hydrogen bonds into a two-dimensional network parallel to the ac plane. The Hirshfeld surface analysis indicates that the most important contributions to the crystal packing are from H...O/O...H (43.4%) and O...C/C...O (17.7%) interactions.

The title compound, C38H26O2·C6H7N, crystallized as a host–guest complex from a solvent mixture of 4-methylpyridine and acetone. The dihedral angle between the rings in the biphenyl unit is 87.06 (3)°. The methylpyridine guest molecules are linked to the host molecules via O—H... N hydrogen bonds, forming discrete pairs. The other OH group of the host forms an intramolecular O—H...O hydrogen bond.

In the title compound, C20H36O5·H2O, previously studied by film methods [Vorontsova et al. (1975). Izvest. USSR Ser. Chem. 2, 338–343], the H atoms have been located and the absolute structure (seven stereogenic centres) established. An intramolecular O—H...O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring. In the crystal, molecules are linked by O—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Polymorphism is a challenging phenomenon and the competitive packing alternatives which are characteristic for polymorphs may be encountered for essentially rigid molecules. A second crystal form of the well known compound o-nitrobenzoic acid, C7H5NO4, an important intermediate in the production of dyes, pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, is described. Although obtained serendipitously, its intra- and intermolecular features match expectations from database searches and theoretical calculations. O-H…O hydrogen-bonded carboxylic acid dimers represent the building blocks in both polymorphs. For steric reasons and in agreement with a calculated potential energy surface, the carboxylic acid and nitro groups cannot simultaneously be coplanar with the benzene ring but have to tilt. In the well established crystal form, this out-ofplane torsion is more pronounced for the nitro substituent. In contrast, the new polymorph is characterized by a major tilt of the carboxylic acid group. The molecules in both alternative crystal forms achieve a similar compromise with respect to acceptable intramolecular O. . .O contacts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
