Purpose: The study highlights our findings, including the confirmation of phase stability through XRD analysis, the characterization of optical properties revealing high absorption and conductivity and the analysis of mechanical stability through elastic constants. Additionally, we present detailed results on the band gap, EELS analysis and the suitability of SrZrO3 perovskite oxides for next-generation optoelectronic devices. Design/methodology/approach: Cubic SrZrO3 perovskite oxides were designed within the framework of density functional theory (DFT) via the CASTEP code under varying stress conditions (0–100 GPa), aiming to explore the key properties for diverse applications. The phase stability was confirmed by XRD analysis. From 0 to 40 GPa, there is an increase in the band gap from 3.330 to 3.615 eV, while it narrows from 3.493 to 3.155 eV beyond 60 GPa. The optical characteristics revealed high absorption, superior conductivity and a lower loss function. Significantly, the elastic constants (C11, C12 and C44) satisfy the Born-stability criterion, ensuring the mechanical stability of the compound. Additionally, the Poisson's ratio, Pugh ratio (B/G), Frantsevich ratio, Cauchy pressure (PC) and anisotropy factor ensured both ductile and anisotropic characteristics. Higher values of Young's modulus and shear modulus signify a superior ability to withstand longitudinal stresses. In the EELS analysis, distinctive energy-loss peaks resulting from absorption and emission correlated with diverse electronic transitions and energy levels associated with Sr, Zr and O atoms are used to probe the precise exploration of the electronic and optical characteristics of materials with a high degree of accuracy. Based on these findings, the designed SrZrO3 perovskite oxides are particularly suitable for applications in various optoelectronic devices. The morphology of coastal regions is continually changing because of both natural and human factors. Monitoring and understanding these changes are essential for efficient coastal management and sustainable development. To protect and develop beaches, quantitative monitoring of coastal changes is crucial. According to this study, there is a persistent erosion issue with the shoreline of the Rosetta region in Egypt. Over the previous century, there has been noticeable erosion. This is mostly because of the Aswan High Dam, which was built in 1964 and decreased runoff and sediment flow. Five Landsat images spanning the years 1980–2023 were utilized in this study. The Nile Delta would be eroding at an alarming rate if action were not taken due to coastal erosion, which is made worse by sea level rise. Our study's primary goal is to evaluate the shoreline of the Rosetta region and identify rates of erosion and accretion as well as patterns of accumulation and erosion using a combination of statistical analysis of the coastline using DSAS software and remote sensing techniques. It also seeks to pinpoint hotspots that require security. In this study, the Shoreline Linear Regression Rate (LRR), End Point Rate (EPR), Shoreline Change Envelope (SCE), and Net Shoreline Movement (NSM) were determined by creating crosssections perpendicular to the baseline using the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS). According to the analysis of coastal change, the periods with the highest levels of erosion were between 1980 and 1990, before the protection of the promontory took place. In addition, the results extracted from this study showed a stabilized shoreline between 2000 and 2023 at the Rosetta Promontory and noticeable erosion in the east and west of the promontory. Laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) is a minimally invasive treatment method in managing primary brain neoplasms, brain metastases, radiation necrosis, and epileptogenic lesions, many of which are located in operative corridors that would be difficult to address. Although the use of lasers is not a new concept in neurosurgery, advances in technology have enabled surgeons to perform laser treatment with the aid of real-time MRI thermography as a guide. In this report, we present our institutional series and outcomes of patients treated with LITT. We retrospectively evaluated 19 patients (age range, 28–77 years) who underwent LITT at one or more targets from 2015 to 2019. Primary endpoint observed was mean progression free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). Seven patients with glial neoplasms and 12 patients with metastatic disease were reviewed. Average hospitalization was 2.4 days. Median PFS was 7 and 4 months in the metastatic group and primary glial neoplasm group, respectively (p = 0.01). Median OS from time of diagnosis was 41 and 32 months (p = 0.02) and median OS after LITT therapy was 25 and 24 months (p = 0.02) for the metastatic and primary glial neoplasm groups, respectively. One patient experienced immediate post-procedural morbidity secondary to increased intracerebral edema peri-lesionally while one patient experienced post-operative mortality and expired secondary to hemorrhage 1-month post-procedure. Median follow-up was 10 months. Laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) is a safe, minimally invasive treatment method that provides surgeons with cytoreductive techniques to treat neurosurgical conditions. Both PFS and OS appear to be more favorable after LITT in patients with metastatic disease. A homozygous truncating frameshift mutation in CEP57([CEP57.sup.T/T]) has been identified in a subset of mosaic- variegated aneuploidy (MVA) patients; however, the physiological roles of the centrosome- associated protein CEP57 that contribute to disease are unknown. To investigate these, we have generated a mouse model mimicking this disease mutation. [Cep57.sup.T/T] mice died within 24 hours after birth with short, curly tails and severely impaired vertebral ossification. Osteoblasts in lumbosacral vertebrae of [Cep57.sup.T/T] mice were deficient for Fgf2, a Cep57 binding partner implicated in diverse biological processes, including bone formation. Furthermore, a broad spectrum of tissues of [CEP57.sup.T/T] mice had severe aneuploidy at birth, consistent with the MVA patient phenotype. [Cep57.sup.T/T] mouse embryonic fibroblasts and patient-derived skin fibroblasts failed to undergo centrosome maturation in [G.sub.2] phase, causing premature centriole disjunction, centrosome amplification, aberrant spindle formation, and high rates of chromosome missegregation. Mice heterozygous for the truncating frameshift mutation or a Cep57-null allele were overtly indistinguishable from WT mice despite reduced Cep57 protein levels, yet prone to aneuploidization and cancer, with tumors lacking evidence for loss of heterozygosity.
