Current research aimed to reveal antibacterial and antioxidant properties of acetone and ethyl acetate extracts of Phlomis armeniaca, Echinophora tenuifolia subsp. sibthorpiana and Moringa oleifera plants obtained from herbalists in Gaziantep. Extracts of P. armeniaca, E. tenuifolia subsp. sibthorpiana and M. oleifera plants have antibacterial effect at varying degrees against test bacteria. Both ethyl acetate and acetone extracts of P. armeniaca plant exhibited higher antibacterial activity than studied other plant extracts. It was also found that the antioxidant activity increased with increasing concentrations. Since antioxidant and antibacterial activities were observed in almost all of the tested plant extracts, it was concluded that P. armeniaca, E. tenuifolia subsp. sibthorpiana and M. oleifera plants could be natural sources of antioxidant and antibacterial.

The current study, we investigated phenolic content and antioxidant activity of ethyl acetate and dichloromethane extracts of thyme, turmeric, propolis and their mixtures. The highest and the lowest phenolic contents were found in ethyl acetate extract of propolis (214.94±0.023 µg GAE/mL) and dichloromethane extract of thyme (21.02±0.013 µg GAE/mL). While total antioxidant capacity of ethyl acetate extracts ranges from 127.15±0.031 µg AAE/mL and 232.2±0.028 µg AAE/mL; dichloromethane extracts ranges from 61.6±0.019 µg AAE/mL and 159.95±0.035 µg AAE/mL. CUPRAC activity and DPPH radical scavenging activity of ethyl acetate extracts are higher than dichloromethane extracts. According to the obtained results, it can be said that propolis, thyme, turmeric could be an alternative to synthetic antioxidants. &nbsp

Amaç:, Bu çalışmada Hipertrofik kardiyomiyopati (HKMP) hastalarında geç kontrast tututulmu (GKT), toplam sol ventrikül kütlesi (TSVK), mitral yetersizlik ve sol atriyum (SA) hacmi dahil olmak üzere Kardiyak manyetik rezonans (KMR) görüntüleme parametreleri ile atriyal fibrilasyon (AF) arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırmayı amaçladık.Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu çalışmaya HKMP tanısı alan, KMR çekimi yapılmış ve 48 saatlik Holter monitorizasyonu olan ardışık 122 hasta dahil edilmiştir. KMR tecrübesine sahip Radyoloji ve Kardiyoloji uzman hekimleri tarafından KMR görüntüleri değerlendirilmiştir. TSVK, SA hacmi, GKT varlığı ve yaygınlığı, mitral yetersizliği ve maksimum sol ventrikül kalınlığını içeren KMR parametreleri ile AF arasındaki korelasyon değerlendirilmiştir.Bulgular: SA hacmi ve AF arasında anlamlı bir korelasyon gözlendi. Ek olarak TSVK, AF ile ilişkili bulundu. TSVK, SA hacmi ve GKT'nin kapsamını değerlendiren lojistik çok değişkenli analiz, yalnızca sol atriyal hacmin bağımsız öngörücü olduğunu ortaya koydu. GKT, TSVK, mitral yetersizlik ve SA hacminin varlığı ve yaygınlığı arasında anlamlı korelasyonlar gözlendi.Sonuç: GKT'nin varlığı, SA hacmi ile pozitif korelasyon gösterdi. SA hacmi, HKMP hastalarında AF'nin en önemli bağımsız belirleyicisi gibi görünmektedir., Purpose: The present study sought to investigate the association between Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging parameters including late gadolinium enhancement (LGE), total left ventricular mass (TLVM), mitral regurgitation, and left atrial (LA) volume, with atrial fibrillation (AF) in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). patients. Materials and Methods: Consecutive 122 patients with the diagnosis of HCM and together with having 48-hour Holter monitoring were included in the present work. Two experienced observers evaluated all CMR images. The correlation between AF and CMR parameters including TLVM, LA volume, the presence and extent of LGE, mitral regurgitation, and the maximum left ventricular thickness were evaluated.Results: Between the LA volume and AF, a significant correlation was observed. Additionally, TLVM was also associated with AF. The logistic multivariate analysis assessing TLVM, LA volume, and the extent of LGE revealed that only the left atrial volume was the independent predictor. Significant correlations were observed between the existence and extent of LGE, TLVM, mitral regurgitation and LA volume. Conclusion: The presence of LGE was positively correlated with LA volume. LA volume appears to be the most important independent predictor of AF in HCM patients.

Günümüzde teknolojide yaşanan gelişmelerle birlikte dünya yeni bir durum almaktadır. Dünyada yaşanan bu değişim ve gelişmeler iş hayatıyla birlikte bireyleri de etkilemektedir. Bu değişimden etkilenen iş dünyası daha kalifiye, daha bilgili, daha idealist ve daha çalışkan bireyleri tercih etmeye başlamıştır. Buradan hareketle, yöneticilerin kişisel başarı algılarının belirlenmesi önem arz etmektedir. Bu kapsamda Ordu ili Novada alışveriş merkezindeki 85 mağaza yöneticisine anket uygulanmıştır. Anket formları bizzat araştırmacı tarafından dağıtılmış ve toplanmıştır. Anketlerden elde edilen veriler SPSS 21.0 paket programında analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonuçlarına göre; yöneticiler yaptıkları işe hâkim olduklarını, kendilerine verilen görevi yerine getirmek için çok çalıştıklarını, yaptıkları işi kusursuz bir biçimde yaptıklarını, iş ile ilgili ortaya çıkan sorunlarla baş edebileceklerini, ikna edici ve etkileyici olduklarını ve insanları kolay organize edebileceklerini düşünmektedirler. Bunun yanı sıra yöneticilerin demografik özellikleriyle kişisel başarı algıları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılığın bulunmadığı tespit edilmiştir., Today, the world is tking a new shape with the developments in technology. These changes and developments affect individuals as well as business life. The business life affected by this change prefers more qualified, more knowledgeable, more idealistic and hardworking individuals. From this point of view, it is important to determine the personal success perceptions of the managers. In this context, a questionnaire was applied to 85 store managers in Novada shopping center in Ordu. The questionnaire forms were distributed and collected by the researcher himself. The data obtained from the questionnaires were analyzed in the SPSS 21.0 package program. According to the analysis results; managers think that they have good command of their work, that they work hard to fulfill the task assigned to them, that they do their job perfectly, that they can cope with business-related problems, they are persuasive and impressive, and that they can organize people easily. In addition, it was determined that there is no statistically significant difference between managers' demographic characteristics and their perceptions of personal success.

Background Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality. Carboplatin and cisplatin based regimens are used in the treatment of NSCLC. The aim of the study was to find out whether there is a difference in white matter (WM) changes between two platinum-based chemotherapy agents using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). Patients and methods 25 patients who received chemotherapy for NSCLC and 27 age-matched healthy controls were enrolled in the study. Fractional anisotropy (FA), axial diffusivity (AD), mean diffusivity (MD) and radial diffusivity (RD) values of the study population were measured from 11 regions of interest in pre-chemotherapy and post-chemotherapy MRI data. Results Cisplatin group showed a significant decrease in the FA of the inferior longitudinal fasciculus (P = 0.028). Carboplatin group showed a significant FA decrease and RD increase in the forceps minor (P = 0.022 and P = 0.011, respectively), and a significant reduction in AD and increase in MD in frontal white matter (WM) (P = 0.008 and P = 0.029, respectively). In comparison of post chemotherapy DTI values of the two groups, carboplatin group showed lower FA, and higher MD and RD values than cisplatin group in parieto-occipital WM (P = 0.034, P = 0.034, P = 0.029, respectively). Conclusions The findings of the study suggest that subtle effects of chemotherapy detectable with DTI may emerge after the treatment. In addition, carboplatin regimen may have more impact on WM than cisplatin regimen.

Bu çalışmada, kongre turizmi ile ilgili hazırlanan lisansüstü tezlerin çeşitli parametrelerle incelenerek bibliyometrik profilinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda, Yüksek Öğretim Kurulu Tez Merkezi’nin internet veri tabanında yer alan kongre turizmi ile ilgili 1997-2021 yılları arasındaki tezler taranmış ve bibliyometrik analiz tekniğiyle incelenmiştir. Tarama sonucunda 64 teze ulaşılmıştır. Erişime kapalı tezler ile konu dışında kalan tezler çıkarıldıktan sonra araştırma 40 tez üzerinden gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler, Microsoft Excel programında analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda; tezlerin büyük çoğunluğunun yüksek lisans düzeyinde olduğu, en çok tezin 2018-2021 yılları arasında hazırlandığı, İstanbul Üniversitesi ve Gazi Üniversitesi’nde yoğunlaştığı, Prof. Dr. unvanlı danışmanların daha fazla olduğu belirlenmiştir. Tezlerin daha çok Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü bünyesinde, Turizm İşletmeciliği Ana bilim dalında hazırlandığı tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma yöntemi olarak nicel araştırmaların ağırlıklı olduğu, veri toplama aracı olarak anket tekniğinin kullanıldığı, örneklem grubunun ise en çok yöneticilerden oluştuğu saptanmıştır. Tezlerin çoğunun 101-200 sayfa arasında ve 4 anahtar kelime kullanılarak hazırlandığı tespit edilmiştir.

In this study, it is aimed to determine the bibliometric profile of the graduate thesis prepared on cyberloafing by examining them with various parameters. In this direction, the theses on virtual recording between 2010-2021 in the internet database of the Higher Education Council Thesis Center were scanned and examined with bibliometric analysis technique. As a result of the scan, 71 theses were reached and the research was carried out on these theses. The data obtained were analyzed in Microsoft Excel program. As a result of the study; it has been determined that the theses on cyberloafing are mostly prepared at the master's level and in Turkish. It has been determined that the theses are mainly centered in Bahçeşehir University and Trakya University and prepared in 2019, and the thesis advisors mostly had the title of Associate Professor. It has been determined that the theses are mostly prepared in the Institute of Social Sciences, in the departments of Business Administration and Educational Sciences, and in the subjects of business administration, education and training. It has been determined that quantitative research methods and those who work as sample groups are more preferred as research methods in theses. Another result is that 3 keywords are used in the majority of the theses and foreign resources are preferred more., Bu çalışmada, sanal kaytarma konusunda hazırlanmış olan lisansüstü tezlerin çeşitli parametrelerle incelenerek bibliyometrik profilinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Tezlerin çoğunda 3 anahtar kelime kullanılmış ve kaynakçalarında yabancı kaynakların ağırlıklı olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

The aim of the actual study is to evaluate antimicrobial and antioxidant potentials, total phenolic contents of thyme (Thymus sp.), myrtle (Myrtus communis L.), eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus L.) and rosemary herbal waters (Rosmarinus officinalis L.). They were bought a retailer in Giresun. In the studies, it was determined that only thyme water exhibited antimicrobial activity in all herbal waters. Streptomycine, tetracycline and nystatin which were synthetic antimicrobials demonstrated higher activity than studied herbal waters. Moreover; total flavonoid contents of the tested waters ranges from 50.19±0.0038 µL CE/mL to 126.15±0.004 µL CE/mL. The highest and the lowest total phenolic contents were detected in the thyme water and the eucalyptus water as 688.18±0.009 µL GAE/mL and 24.54±0.0008 µL GAE/mL, respectively. DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities of the herbal waters exhibited a dose dependent manner and increased with increasing conentrations. As a result of this study, it was concluded that thyme water could be an alternative to synthetic antimicrobial agents and thyme water, myrtle water, eucalyptus water and rosemary waters might be an alternative to synthetic antioxidative agents. Hence, further and detailed investigations are needed to determine active constituents in the herbal waters.

This paper presents anti-urease and antibacterial activities of chloropheniramine maleat, paracetamol andclarithromycine. Antibacterial activity of the compounds was investigated against Salmonella enterica,Enterobacter aerogenes, Bacillus subtilis, Proteus vulgaris, Gordonia rubripertincta, Klebsiella pneumoniae andEnterococcus faecalis. Moreover, anti-urease activity of the compounds was searched. All tested compoundsdemonstrated antibacterial action with varying degree except for chloropheniramine maleat. Chloropheniraminemaleat, paracetamol and chlarithromycine exhibited higher activity than thiourea. The data obtained from thestudy, chloropheniramine maleate, paracetamol and clarithromycin are thought to be useful as new ureaseinhibitors and the present study should be supported by further studies. Furthermore, it is thought that paracetamolhas antibacterial properties and therefore can be used as an alternative to antibiotics, Bu çalışmada klorofeniramin maleat, parasetamol ve klaritromisin’in antibakteriyal ve anti-üreaz aktiviteleri ileilgilenmektedir. Klorofeniramin maleat, parasetamol veklaritromisin tiyoüreden daha yüksek aktivite gösterdi. Çalışmadan elde edilen veriler, klorofeniramin maleat,parasetamol ve klaritromisin yeni üreaz inhibitörü olarak kullanılabileceğini düşünülmüş olup mevcut çalışmadaha ileri çalışmalar ile de desteklenmelidir. Ayrıca, parasetamolün antibakteriyel özelliklere sahip olduğu ve bunedenle antibiyotiklere alternatif olarak kullanılabileceği düşünülmektedir.

WOS: 000485852800021 In this study, chemical composition determination and in vitro antibacterial and antifungal effects of essential oils of Laurus nobilis flowers and leaves grown West Anatolian ecological conditions were investigated. Antibacterial and antifungal activities were evaluated by Minimum Inhibition Concentration (MIC) method. Extractions were carried out with clevenger apparatus and essential oil compositions were determined by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). According to the results of the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis, camphene (28.46 %), 1,8-cineole (34.08%) were found to be highest in the essential oil obtained from Laurus nobilis leaves. 3-ethyl-6-(methoxycarbonyl)-2-naphthol (16.10%), camphene (18.14%), were found to be highest in the essential oil obtained from Laurus nobilis flowers. MIC values of essential oils of flower and leave parts of L. nobilis range from 1.5625 mu L/mL to 6.25 mu L/mL against test bacteria. As a result, it is thought that the essential oil content differs in quantity and composition from the past studies, due to the different geographical and environmental effects of the plant.

Üreaz (üre amidohidrolaz, E.C.3.5.1.5.) ürenin amonyak vekarbondioksite hidrolizini katalizleyen nikel içerikli bir metaloenzimdir.Elastazlar (E.C. 3.4.21.36), bağ dokusunun önemli proteni olan elastini ayırmaözelliğine sahip bir grup serin proteazlardır. Mevcut çalışmada, Cystoseiraceae ailesine ait Cystoseirabarbata (Stackhouse) C. Agardh (C. barbata) deniz yosununun anti-üreaz ve anti-elastaz inhibisyonözelliklerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Ekstrenin anti-üreaz veanti-elastaz aktivitelerinin IC50 değerleri sırasıyla 1,366 ± 0,003 μg/mLve 0,0078 ± 0,004 μg/mL olarak bulundu. Anti-üreaz standardı olan tiyoüreninanti-üreaz IC50 değeri 3,61 ± 0,799 μg/mL olarak saptanırken;anti-elastaz standardı olan ursolik asitin anti-elastaz IC50 değeri0,0392 ± 0,004 μg/mL olarak bulundu. Bu çalışma, C. barbata yosununun elastaz ve üreaz inhibitör araştırmaları ileilgili ilk kayıttır. Çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlar, C. barbata yosununun alternatif bir anti-elastaz ve anti-üreazkaynağı olarak kullanılabileceğini açıkça göstermektedir. &nbsp

Karadeniz (Giresun,Türkiye), zengin deniz yosunu kaynaklarına sahiptir, fakat deniz yosunlarınınbiyolojik aktiviteleri ile ilgili az sayıda çalışmaya rastlanmıştır. Buaraştırma, kahverengi bir yosun olan Cystoseira barbata (Stackhouse) C. Agardh (Cystoseiraceae) (C. barbata)’nın antioksidan aktivitesi, toplam fenolik ve flavonoidiçeriklerinin belirlenmesini amaçlamaktadır. Total fenolik içeriğiFolin-Ciocalteu metodu ile belirlendi. Antioksidan aktivite(2,2-difenil-1-pikrilhidrazil) (DPPH) radikal giderme aktivitesi,2,2'-azino-bis (3-etilbenzotiyazolin-6-sülfonik asit) diamonyum tuzu (ABTS)radikal giderme aktivitesi, indirgeme gücü ve toplam flavonoid içeriğitayinleri kullanılarak saptandı. C.barbata’nın sulu ekstresinin ve standart antioksidanların DPPH ve ABTSradikali giderme aktiviteleri Rutin>Troloks>C. barbata yosun ekstresi şeklinde bulunmuştur. Total fenolik veflavonoid içeriği, sırasıyla 94,55 ± 0,006 mg gallik asid eşdeğeri/g ekstre ve45,92 ± 0,011 mg kateşin eşdeğeri/g ekstre olarak belirlendi. Tüm antioksidantayinlerinde, ekstrenin aktivitesi konsantrasyona bağlı olarak önemli ölçüdeartmıştır. DPPH ve ABTS tayinlerindeki IC50 değerleri, sırasıyla971,36 ± 51,82 and 1247,72 ± 35,70 µg/mL’dir. İndirgeme gücünün 200 µg/mLkonsantrasyondaki absorbans değeri, 0,133 ±0,002’dir. &nbsp

This study was carried out with the aim of determining the antifungal effect of the essential oil isolated from Achillea millefolium subsp. millefolium plant against pathogenic fungi. In order to test the antifungal effect of the oil, an analysis was conducted on a total of 4 pathogen fungi which included Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis, Candida parapsilosis and Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and the effect of the essential oil on the growth of these fungi was investigated. The essential oil of A. millefolium ssp. millefolium had varying degrees of effect on the tested fungi. The highest antifungal effect was found against S. cerevisiae; whereas the lowest antifungal effect was found against C. parapsilosis. Nystatin showed a higher activity than the essential oil of A. millefolium subsp. millefolium against the tested fungi. MIC values of the essential oil against the tested fungi ranged from 1.25 μl/ml to 10 μl/ml. The results obtained indicate that essential oil of A. millefolium subsp. millefolium can be used as an alternative to antifungal agents such as amphotericin, ketoconazole, and fluconazole.

Bu çalışma Doktor Gürkan Kubilay kliniğine başvuran insülin direnci tanısı almış olan 30-55 yaş aralığındaki 50 kadınla yürütülmüştür. Retrospektif olarak planlanan araştırmada klinik bilgi işlem sisteminde kayıtlı dosya ve tahlil verileri incelenmiş, diğer veriler Mart-Nisan 2018 tarihleri arasında uygulanan anketlerle elde edilmiş bu kapsamda; kadınların sosyo demografik durumları, vücut yağ-kas-su ölçümü, kilo, boy, genel beslenme alışkanlıkları, besin tüketim sıklığı ve aynı laboratuvarda saptanmış mevcut açlık kan şekeri, açlık insülini ve HOMA-IR saptanmıştır. Araştırma sonucu elde edilen bulguların istatistiksel analizleri için SPSS 23 programı kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde Ki-Kare testi, t testi ile non-parametrik hipotez testleri uygulanmıştır. Bulgular değerlendirildiğinde insülin direnci olan kadınların %68'inin 42-55 yaş aralığında olduğu, %76'sının evli olduğu, %48'inin ev hanımı olduğu, %38'inin lisans mezunu olduğu görülmüştür. Araştırmaya katılanların %38'inin çocukluk çağında şişman olduğu, %68'inin ise ailede obezite öyküsünün olduğu, %52,6'sının günde 2 öğün tükettiği görülmüş olup öğün atlamalarına bakıldığında %88'inin kuşluk öğününü atladığı, % 58'inin ikindi öğününü atladığı, % 42'sinin öğle öğününü atladığı görülmüştür.
