BackgroundDietetics mobile health apps provide lifestyle tracking and support on demand. Mobile health has become a new trend for health service providers through which they have been shifting their services from clinical consultations to online apps. These apps usually offer basic features at no cost and charge a premium for advanced features. Although diet apps are now more common and have a larger user base, in general, there is a gap in literature addressing why users intend to use diet apps. We used Diyetkolik, Turkey’s most widely used online dietetics platform for 7 years, as a case study to understand the behavioral intentions of users. ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to investigate the factors that influence the behavioral intentions of users to adopt and use mobile health apps. We used the Technology Acceptance Model and extended it by exploring other factors such as price-value, perceived risk, and trust factors in order to assess the technology acceptance of users. With the emergence of COVID-19 pandemic, guidance and counseling services at schools have been impeded. In line with this, teachers' experiences and views on counselling services have gained importance since they tried to reach the students via online teaching platforms in most cases. The main purpose of this study is to reveal challenges and opportunities encountered by the teacher counsellors in the implementation of guidance and counseling services remotely during the global pandemic. To achieve this overarching aim, two research questions (RQ) were addressed. This descriptive qualitative study employed both qualitative content analysis and thematic analysis for qualitative data analysis process. The participants of the study were 56 counselor teachers who accepted to participate in the study. Data collected through online google survey form. Findings illustrated that 18 subcategories were gathered under the challenges category. We extracted 13 subcategories with different frequencies under opportunities category. As for the thematic analyses results, we identified 4 themes and 21 subcategories under the school counselors' opinions about challenges encountered however, there were 2 themes and 10 subcategories under the school counselors' opinions about opportunities encountered. As a result, challenges included school counselors' quest for supportive, clear direction and job description in a virtual classroom setting. Opportunities included elimination of the time-space-distance restrictions, in-service training opportunities and ease of access to those services.

In this study, how the learning process designed with mathematical modeling activities affects the mathematical modeling competencies of middle school students who are at different levels in terms of reading comprehension skills. In the study, nested (embedded) pattern was preferred among mixed method research designs. The participants of the study consisted of 26 middle school seventh grade students who were selected using the easily accessible situation sampling method, which is one of the purposeful sampling types. In the research, besides mathematical modeling activities, researcher and student diaries were used to obtain qualitative data on the functioning of the application process. "Modeling Activities Opinion Form" was also used at the end of the application process in order to determine the general views of the study group on the activities. The quantitative data of the study were collected through the "Reading Comprehension Test" and "Mathematical Modeling Competence Test", and the collected data were analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods. At the end of the study, it was determined that the mathematical modeling competencies of the students improved, but this development did not follow a stable course during the application process and the interpretation and validation competencies of the students were low.

In this study, it was aimed to determine the geometry problem posing performance of eighth grade students in different problem posing situations. For this purpose, the convergent parallel mixed model accepted as one of the mixed method designs was preferred. The participants consisted of 151 eighth grade students from the same school. The "Geometry Problem Posing Test" was used as a data collection tool which consists of a total of six open-ended problems including free, semi-structured, and structured problem posing situations developed by the researchers. An analytical rubric including seven criteria was used for the analysis of the student posed problems. In the research, a significant difference was found among the problem posing situations. In order to examine this difference in depth, the rubric criteria were analysed descriptively with a qualitative approach. After the analysis, it was concluded that the success in structured problem posing situations was lower than the success in other problem posing situations. Therefore, it can be said that the structured problem posing situations can be more challenging for students in geometry problem posing.

This resent study investigated the relationships between leisure attitude, self-efficacy and achievement motivation among first year university students. Furthermore, this study examined the mediating role of self-efficacy on the relationship between leisure attitude and achievement motivation among university students. A total of 190 students were selected from Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University using cluster sampling method. The questionnaires consisted of the revised version of the self-efficacy scale, leisure attitude measure and achievement motivation measure. The results revealed that there were significant positive relationships between the study variables. Additionally, the result also showed that self-efficacy partially mediated the achievement motivation-leisure attitude relation. The implication is that students' abilities should be improved by promoting leisure activities which may motivate them to participate in the learning activities.

The purpose of this study was to examine the epistemological beliefs of middle school students in rural area and their attitudes toward solving mathematical problems according to gender and class level variables. It was also necessary to determine whether the epistemological beliefs of middle school students in rural area had predicted their attitudes toward mathematical problem solving. The research was carried out using the survey model, which is one of the descriptive research methods. The participants of the survey consisted of 435 middle school students in three state schools in a large provincial rural area. Personal data form, mathematics problem solving attitude scale and epistemological beliefs scale were used as data collection tools. Nonparametric tests were used when the data were analyzed since they did not show normal distribution. According to the results obtained, mathematical problem-solving attitude and epistemological beliefs did not differ according to gender. It was also observed that the mathematical problem-solving attitude and epistemological beliefs of students had decreased according to class level. According to the results of the regression analysis, epistemological belief was found to be a significant predictor for mathematical problem solving.
