It was found that Microwave (MW) assisted wood preservative (WP) treatments effects further lowering swelling and water absortion values for selected hardwoods and softwood species in this study. It is clear that the post MW treated woods effects further reaction or bonding to hydroxyl group (–C-OH) of cell wall constituents to create further water repellent (hyrophobic) surfaces with WP applications. However, the water absorptiveness was found to be lowered extensively on all WP treated samples. The further lowering water absortiveness values calculated for all post MW treated samples. The calculated values have indicated approximately further reducing of 14.9% for Eucalyptus, 6.9% for Poplar, 6.8% Chestnut samples, 7.9% for Cedrus and 18.1% for Pine samples respectively. It has also found that MW treated samples clear evidence on increasing bonding strength for all post MW treated wood species. The MW treatments effects increasing bonding strengths of wood in the range of 6.5-20.2% for hardwoods and 5.5-10.4% for softwood species., Bu çalışmanın amacı ahşap materyalin hidrofilikliği ve yapışma direnci üzerinde mikrodalga muamelesinin etkilerini araştırmaktır. Elde edilen sonuçlar mikrodalga (MW) yardımıyla odun koruyucu (WP) muamelelerin seçilen iğne yapraklı ve yapraklı türler için daha düşük su alma ve şişme değerleri göstermiştir. MW muameleli ahşaplar, WP uygulamalarında su itici (hidrofobik) yüzeylerin oluşumunda hüçre duvarı bileşenlerinin hidroksil gruplarına (–C-OH) bağlanması yada reaksiyon oluşumunu etkilediği açıktır. Fakat su emiciliği tüm MP muameleli örnekler üzerinde önemli ölçüde düşürdüğü bulundu buna karşın çok daha fazla su su emiciliğindeki azalma MW muameleli örnekler için elde edilmiştir. Hesaplanan değerler Ekaliptus için 14.9%, Kavak için 6.9%, Kestane için 6.8%, Sedir için 7.9% ve Çam için 18.1% oranında azalma göstermiştir. MW muameleli örnekler yüksek yapışma direnci üzerinde açık bir kanıt gösterdiği bulundu. MW muameleleri yapraklı ağaç odunları için %6,5-20 ve yapraklı ağaç türleri için %5,5-10,4 arasında yapışma direncini artırdı.

The aim of this study was to determine the effects of cellulosic fillers on the conventional and dynamic mechanical, thermal, morphological, and rheological properties of polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) biopolymers. Polyhydroxybutyrate as a biopolymer matrix and cellulosic fillers including wood flour, microcrystalline cellulose, and cellulose nanofibrils (0.5 and 5 wt%) as reinforcing agents were used to produce the composite. According to the results obtained, the addition of 0.5 wt% cellulose nanofibrils improved both the flexural and tensile moduli of elasticity but other fillers and filler loading levels generally decreased the mechanical properties attributable to aggregations of fillers in the matrix. Thermal analysis results showed that the addition of cellulosic fillers did not influence the glass transition and crystallization temperature of the PHB whereas the crystallinity and melting temperature generally increased with the addition of the cellulosic fillers. Thermal stability of the composites generally improved with addition of the cellulosic fillers. The dynamic mechanical analysis results showed that both storage and loss moduli of all the samples generally decreased with increasing temperature. Elastic and viscous moduli of all the samples initially decreased with frequency but then generally increased according to the rheological analysis.

Bu araştırmada, yonga levha üretiminde ürün kalitesini ve maliyeti etkileyen faktörlerden biri olan, yüzey (üst-alt) tabaka yonga oranlarının levha özellikleri üzerine etkisi incelenmiştir. Test örnekleri Yıldız Entegre Mudurnu tesisinde üretim hattı kullanılarak üretilmiştir. Çalışmada üretilen 3 katlı yonga levhalarda üst-alt yüzey tabaka yonga oranları birinci gurup deney levhaları için % 18,5-18, ikinci gurupta % 18-17,5, üçüncü gurupta % 17,5-17 ve dördüncü gurupta ise % 17-16,5 olacak şekilde seçilmiştir. Üretilen deney levhalarının fiziksel ve mekanik özellikleri, ilgili standartlara göre belirlenerek değerlendirilmiştir. Testler Yıldız Entegre Mudurnu tesislerinde bulunan laboratuvarlarda yapılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre su alma ve kalınlığına şişme değerleri ile vida tutma direncinin yüzey tabaka kalınlığına bağlı olarak diğer özelliklerden daha fazla etkilendiği ve en uygun % 18,5-18 alt-üst tabaka oranına sahip levhalarda olduğu belirlenmiştir. Diğer özelliklerin ise anlamlı olarak değişmediği tespit edilmiştir. Dolayısıyla, yonga levha kullanım alanları dikkate alınarak üretim şartlarının revize edilebileceği kanaatine varılmıştır. Rutubetli ortamlar için üretilecek yonga levhaların yüzey yonga kullanım oranının daha yüksek, kuru şartlarda genel amaçlı levha üretimleri için yüzey tabaka kalınlıklarının daha düşük tutulabileceği belirlenmiştir Particleboard industry is one of the most important sectors in Turkey. Significant studies were carried out in this sector as to make balance in quality and cost of production. In this study, we aimed to investigate mechanical and physical resistance of particle boards which have different surface layer material proportions that is important in that it can affect production quality and cost of manufacturing process directly. Test samples were produced in Yıldız Entegre Mudurnu factory. In this study, four-test groups were produced according to their weight proportions. Surface layer material proportions were used in test samples based on weight proportions in as %18,518(1st group), %18-17,5(2nd group), %17,5-17(3rd group) and%17-16,5(4th group) respectively. Test samples, which are 1m length and 2,1m width, were taken during process at the sawing station then those were conditioned for 24 hour at the room temperature. Test samples were sanded after they conditioned. After samples calibrated at sanding station they were cut by means of diagonal saw. Laboratory tests were conducted in Yıldız Entegre Mudurnu Factory. In the screw withdrawal test, the best result was obtained from %18,5-18 surface layer proportion. In the other mechanical tests no meaningful results were obtained. On the other hand, in the density test no significant difference was determined. But the best results in the swelling test and water intake test were taken out of %18,5-18 test samples. According to the results of this study it can be said that if manufacturers want to sell their products to clients who use particle board for indoors, they can use surface layer material quantity at %1716,5 level

Bu çalışmada, sarıçam (Pinus sylvestris L.) ve Uludağ göknarı (Abies bornmulleriana Mattf.) odunlarının bazı özellikleri üzerine ısıl işlemin etkisi araştırılmıştır. % 65 nispi nem ve 20 ° C sıcaklıkta şartlandırılan ahşap numuneler, 190 °C' de 4 saat süreyle ısıl işleme tabi tutulmuştur. Isıl işlemden sonra yoğunluk, su alma, boyutsal stabilite, renk değişiklikleri ve FTIR analizi tespit edilmiştir. Test sonuçlarına göre ısıl işlem görmüş her iki ağaç türünde yoğunluk, su alma ve hacimsel genişleme değerlerinde düşme gözlenmiştir. Hacimsel genişlemenin en fazla teğet, ardından sırasıyla radyal ve boyuna kesitte olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Isıl işlem uygulamasıyla birlikte ağaç malzemede renk değişimi gerçekleşmiştir. Sarıçam odununun, Göknar odununa kıyasla daha fazla renginin koyulaştığı belirlenmiştir. Isıl işlem sonrası FTIR spektroskopunda görülen analiz sonuçlarına göre 900, 1025, 1030, 1050 ve 1505 cm-1 ve 1737 cm-1 pikleri tespit edilmiştir. Pikler arasında önemli bir değişim olmadığı saptanmıştır., In this study, the effects of heat treatment on some properties of Scotspine (Pinus sylvestris L.) and Uludağ fir (Abies bornmullerianaMattf.) woods were investigated. Wood specimens conditioned at a relativehumidity of 65% and a temperature of 20°C were subjected to heat treatment at190 for 4 h. After heat treatment, density, water absorption, dimensionalstability, color changes, and FTIR analysis were determined. According to the test results, thedensity, water uptake and volumetric swelling values of both heat treated woodspecies decreased. It was determined that the volumetric swelling was maximumat tangential, followed by radial and longitudinal directions. Color changeoccurred in wood material together with heat treatment. It has been seen thatthe color of the deciduous wood is darker than that of the fir. According tothe results of FTIR spectroscopy after heat treatment, it was determined that900, 1025, 1030, 1050 and 1505 cm-1 and 1737 cm-1 peak.It was determined to be not significant difference among the samples.

Wood has been used to many advantages such as their easy processing,strength values, and price in the many sectors. For all that, wood materialshave many disadvantages such as high hidrofilic behavior, low thermalstability. The various treatment technics were used to overcome thedisadvantages. The heat treatment of wood materials is one of the technics. Theaim of this study was to determine the physical, thermal and mechanical propertiesof heat-treated wood at 180°C and 220°C for 8 h. After heat treatment process; mechanicalproperties such as flexural MOR and MOE, compression MOR and lap shear strength,physical properties such as density and water intake, thermal properties suchas thermal stability with TGA were investigated. According to the obtainedresults, physical and mechanical properties of heat-treated wood materialsdecreased, and while temperature in the heat treatment was rising from 180°C to220°C, physical and mechanical properties decreased more. Thermal stability wasdetermined to increase with thermogravimetric analysis., Ahşap, birçok sektörde kolay işleme, mukavemetdeğerleri ve fiyat gibi birçok avantaj için kullanılmıştır. Tüm bunlar için,ahşap malzemelerin yüksek hidrofilik davranış, düşük termal kararlılık gibibirçok dezavantajı vardır. Dezavantajların azaltılması için çeşitli tekniklerkullanılmıştır. Ahşap malzemelerin Isıl işlemi bu tekniklerden biridir. Bu çalışmanınamacı ısıl işlem görmüş ahşabın 180°C ve 220°C'de 8 saat muamelesi sonrasındatermal ve mekanik özelliklerini araştırmaktır. Isıl işlem sonrası; Eğilmedirenci ve modülü, basınç direnci ve yapışma direnci gibi mekanik özellikler,termogravimetrik analiz incelenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, ısıl işlemgörmüş ahşap malzemelerin fiziksel ve mekanik özellikleri düşmüştür ve ısılişlem sıcaklığı 180°C'den 220 °C'ye yükselirken, fiziksel ve mekaniközelliklerdeki düşüş artmıştır. Termogravimetrik analiz sonrasında termalkararlılığın arttığı saptanmıştır.

Sanayileşmenin getirdiği değişim ve dönüşüm toplumları her yönüyle etkilemiştir. Göç ve kentleşme olgusu ise bu değişim ve dönüşümün en görünür olduğu alanlar olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Böylelikle Sanayileşmenin yarattığı modern toplum, çoğunlukla kentlerde yaşayan ve çalışan insanlardan oluşan bir toplum modeli olarak sunulmuştur. Çalışmanın ele aldığı bu toplum modelinde yaşlı nüfus açısından iki temel etkisi olmuştur; birincisi kırsalda kalanların yaşlı bireyler olması, zamanla yaşlanması ve yalnızlaşması, ikincisi ise kente gelenlerin yaşlanması ve yalnızlaşmasıdır. Modernleşme ile birlikte kent yaşamındaki farklılaşan dinamikler sonucu yaşlanma, yaşlılık, yaşlı yalnızlığı ve gündelik yaşam olguları tartışılmaya başlanmış ve üzerinde durulması gereken önemli konulardan olmuştur. Yaşlı yalnızlığı ve gündelik yaşam, yaşanılan bölge açısından ele alındığında kırda ve kentte farklı biçimlerde ortaya çıkabilmektedirGündelik yaşam, bireylerin bir günlük yaşamını ifade eder ve yaşam dönemlerine göre de farklılık gösterir. Sosyolojik açıdan bakıldığında, toplumsal yaşam içinde bireylerin 24 saat içinde uyandıkları andan, uykuya daldıkları ana kadar geçen yaşamla ilgili tüm gözlemlenebilir faaliyetleri gündelik yaşamın içinde olan faaliyetlerdir. Bu faaliyet alanı içinde hem toplumla, hem de doğayla olan ilişkileri de sayılmaktadır. Modern toplumda çalışmanın ele aldığı gündelik hayat, yaşlılık olgusu ile birlikte dışlanma, yalnızlık, işe yaramama gibi pek çok başka değişkenin etkisinde incelenmesi gereken bir süreç olarak farklılaşarak karşımıza çıkar.Bu çalışmada yaşlılık sürecine eşlik eden gündelik hayat pratiklerinin, sosyal dışlanma, yaşlı yalnızlığı, vb. kavramlar çerçevesinde karşılaştırmalı bir analizle kentsel ve kırsal alanda farklı görünümleri ele alınmıştır. Muğla'nın Milas ilçesinde kentsel ve kırsal bölgesindeki yaşlı bireylerin yaşlı yalnızlığı ve gündelik yaşam içindeki faaliyetleri, davranışları, sosyal ilişkileri fotoğraf kareleri ile desteklenerek, analiz edilmiştir. Ayrıca bu fotoğraflar, saha çalışmasındaki gözlem, görüşme ve ankete dayalı bulguları desteklemek amaçlı kullanılmıştır.Adrese Dayalı Nüfus Kayıt Sistemi, 2018 sayım sonuçlarına göre, Türkiye nüfusunun % 8,3'ünü 65 yaş ve üstü bireyler oluşturmaktadır. Muğla ili doğumda beklenen ortalama yaşam süresi açısından 80.3 yıl ile Türkiye'de ikinci sırada, yaşlı nüfus oranı açısından da % 11,6 ile 26. Sıradadır. Muğla'nın Milas ilçesinde kentsel ve kırsal bölgesindeki yaşlı bireylerin yaşlı yalnızlığı ve gündelik yaşam içindeki faaliyetleri, davranışları, sosyal ilişkileri fotoğraf kareleri ile desteklenerek anlatılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında Milas'ta 502 anket ile 12 görüşme yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın temel konusu yaşlı yalnızlığı ve gündelik yaşam olmakla birlikte, bu konulara dair soruların analizleri tezde fotoğraflarla birlikte desteklenerek yer almıştır. The phenomenon of migration and urbanization is the most visible areas where this change and transformation emerge. Thus, the modern society created by industrialization is presented as a society model composed of people living and working in urban areas. That new society model in which active work force is appreciated has had two main effects on the elderly population. One of the main effects is that the vast majority of population remaining in the rural areas are composed of elderly people. As they age, they become lonely. And the second effect is the aging and loneliness of those who migrate to the city. As a result of differentiating dynamics in urban life along with modernization; phenomena of aging, senility, loneliness among the elderly and everyday life have been discussed widely and have become important issues to be considered. When addressed in terms of the living region they are experienced, the loneliness of elderly and daily life can emerge in different ways in rural and urban areas. Everyday life represent the daily life of that specific individual and varies according to the life periods of individuals. From a sociological point of view, all observable activities related to the life in the social life from the moment that individuals awaken within 24 hours, until they fall asleep, are activities in daily life. The individual's relations with both society and nature are considered within this field of activity. The everyday life dominated by the hegemony of work in modern society differs as a process that needs to be examined under the influence of many other variables such as being excluded, loneliness and failure to work together with the phenomenon of old age. In this study, the daily life practices associated with the aging process in urban and rural areas such as social exclusion and elderly loneliness were examined in different aspects through a comparative analysis. Elderly loneliness, behaviours and activities of the elderly and their social relationships in the urban and rural areas of Muğla's Milas district were analyzed with the help of medium of photography. The photographs were also used to support the observations, interviews and findings based on the survey. According to Address Based Population Registration System Year 2018 Statistics; 8.3% of Turkey's population consist of 65 years or older individuals. Within the scope of the research 12 interviews and 502 surveys were conducted in Milas. 6 of the interviewees were male and 6 were female. Although the main subject of the research was the elderly loneliness and daily life, the analysis of the questions about these issues were supported with the photographs in the thesis. Nanotechnology is revolutionary formany industries. The investments that countries make scientifically andeconomically reveal the significance of nanotechnology. In the world ofscience, data mining has an important place. Data science is used in many areasof technology. The mechanical properties usually determine where thenanocomposites are use. Determining mechanical properties with conventionaltests is expensive and time consuming. Data mining techniques can providesolutions to these problems with lower costs. In this study, deep learning andartificial neural network algorithms were used to predict the deformation ofdifferent nanocomposites during tensile tests. The study showed that datamining algorithms could be successfully applied to nanocomposite applications.At the same time, it was determined that deep learning algorithms are moresuccessful than artificial neural algorithms. The scientific work of datamining in nanotechnology is very limited. New studies are needed to simulatethe production of nanocomposites with data mining algorithms., Nanoteknolojibirçok endüstri için devrim niteliğindedir. Ülkelerin bilimsel ve ekonomikolarak yaptığı yatırımlar, nanoteknolojinin önemini ortaya koymaktadır. Bilimdünyasında veri madenciliği önemli bir yere sahiptir. Teknolojinin birçokalanında veri biliminden faydalanılmaktadır. Nanokompozitlerin kullanım yerinimekanik özellikler genellikle belirler. Geleneksel testler ile mekaniközellikleri belirlemek pahalı ve zaman alıcıdır. Veri madenciliği teknikleri buproblemlere daha düşük maliyetler ile çözümler sunabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada,derin öğrenme ve yapay sinir ağları algoritmaları farklı nanokompozitlerinçekme testleri sırasında deformasyonunu tahmin etmek için kullanılmıştır.Çalışma nanokompozit uygulamalarında veri madenciliği algoritmalarının başarılıbir şekilde uygulanabileceği gösterilmiştir. Aynı zamanda derin öğrenmealgoritmalarının, yapay sinir algoritmalarından daha başarılı olduğubelirlenmiştir. Nanoteknoloji alanında veri madenciliğinin uygulandığı bilimselçalışmalar çok sınırlı sayıdadır. Nanokompozitlerin üretiminin veri madenciliğialgoritmaları ile simule edildiği yeni çalışmalara ihtiyaç vardır.

Küresel rekabetin yoğunlaşması ile bütün endüstrilerde araştırma ve geliştirme çalışmaları kritik bir konu haline dönüşmüştür. Mobilya endüstrisinde dayanıklı ve kaliteli üretim için birleştirmelerin deformasyon davranışlarını anlamak önemlidir. Mekanik biliminde optik yöntemler temassız olarak katı malzemeler hakkında hızlı ve doğru bilgi verir. Bu çalışmada, dijital görüntü korelasyon yöntemi (DIC) kullanılarak basma ve çekme yükleri altında farklı mobilya birleştirmelerinin mekanik özellikleri ve deformasyonu analiz edilmiştir. Analiz için kutu konstrüksiyonlu mobilyada yaygın olarak kullanılan kelebek, tırnaklı trapez, minifixli birleştirme metotları seçilmiştir. Mobilya Birleştirmelerinin oluşturulmasında orta yoğunluklu lif levha (MDF), yonga levha (YL) ve lamine kaplı yonga levha (LY) kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda birleştirme türünün ve malzeme tipinin gerilme ve yer değiştirme (deformasyon) miktarını etkilediği saptanmıştır. Deney sonuçlarına göre, malzeme türünde en yüksek basma ve çekme direncini Lif levha vermiştir. Birleştirme çeşidinde kelebek bağlantı en iyi sonucu vermiştir. DIC yönteminin mobilya tasarımında birleştirmelerin optimizasyonu için yararlı bir araç olarak kullanılabileceği bulunmuştur., Research and development work has become a critical issue in all industries, with the intensification of global competition. It is important for the furniture industry to understand the deformation behavior of joints for durable and quality production. Optical methods in mechanical science provide quick and accurate information about solid materials without contact. In this study, the mechanical properties and deformation behaviors on different furniture joint were analyzed under bending and tensile loads using digital image correlation method (DIC). The commonly used butterfly, nailed trapeze and minifixed joining methods have been chosen for analyses in the boxed construction furniture. Medium density fiberboard (MDF), particleboard (YL) and laminar coated particleboard (LY) were used to form the furniture joints. As a result of the study, it was determined that the joint and material types affected the amount of strain and displacement. According to the results of the experiment, the highest tensile and tensile strength of the material type is given by the Fibreboard. The butterfly joint in the joint type has the best result. It has been found that the DIC method can be used as a useful tool for the optimization of joints in the furniture design.
