Human trafficking as a worldwide social problem is a serious violation of human rights associated with the abuse of human dignity. As a form of organized crime, human trafficking undermines the basic principles of legal order and the democratic standards of society. The transnational nature of this phenomenon requires the combined efforts of all social units and institutions concerned with the problem. The aim of this study is to research the trafficking of women, children and adults from Bulgaria and the place of our country as a trafficking channel. Characterization of amorphous materials in terms of mechanical and thermomechanical properties affects significantly the range of their application. In that sense, in the process of thermomechanical examinations of glasses of the Bix(As2S3)100-xsystem, the temperatures of the following processes have been detected: the beginning of brittleness disappearance, glass transition temperature Tg, boundary between visco-plastic and liquid phases, and the beginning of the full glass liquidity. Moreover, using dilatometric analysis, we determined thermal coefficients of expansion of solid phase and visco-plastic phase. Microhardness of the examined glasses was determined by Vicker's method, with progressive increase of the load. Based on the model of elastic/plastic deformation, the correction of experimental values was made. Morphology of the mechanically treated surfaces was investigated using scanning electron microscopy. The results of measurements were discussed and analyzed in the context of the influence of the composition complexity on the values of given parameters. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]

The reverse Wilson chamber method (RWC), developed for heterogencous nucleation investigation is applied to critical supersaturation measurements and determination of the surface concentration of nuclei (droplets) vs. supersaturation dependence in the case of nucleation from supersaturated water vapors on n-dodecane substrate. The experimental results obtained are interpreted in terms of the classical (Volmer) theory of heterogeneous nucleation as well as in the framework of the theory of barrierless nucleation. The several times lower critical supersaturations measured at four different temperatures, covering the range between 20° and 35° C, are explained by taking into account the effect of the negative line tension of three-phase contact. The temperature dependence of line tension for the three-phase system n-dodecane/water/water vapor is extracted from the data to fir the theory. The results obtained are in complete disagreement with those ones obtained by Wu and Maa for the same system using jet-tensimeter technique, however, in another temperature interval. Mathematical modelling of (re)emerging infectious respiratory diseases among humans poses multiple challenges for modellers, which can arise as a result of limited data and surveillance, uncertainty in the natural history of the disease, as well as public health and individual responses to outbreaks. Here, we propose a COVID-19-inspired health state diagram (HSD) to serve as a foundational framework for conceptualising the modelling process for (re)emerging respiratory diseases, and public health responses, in the early stages of their emergence. The HSD aims to serve as a starting point for reflection on the structure and parameterisation of a transmission model to assess the impact of the (re)emerging disease and the capacity of public health interventions to control transmission. We also explore the adaptability of the HSD to different (re)emerging diseases using the characteristics of three respiratory diseases of historical public health importance. We outline key questions to contemplate when applying and adapting this HSD to (re)emerging infectious diseases and provide reflections on adapting the framework for public health-related interventions., (© 2024. Patient satisfaction and the willingness to recommend a hospital are critical for healthcare quality improvement. This study focuses on orthopedic patients, recognizing their unique healthcare experiences. We aimed to explore factors influencing orthopedic patients' willingness to recommend the hospital, considering various demographic and clinical variables. A cross-sectional survey of 200 orthopedic patients hospitalized between July and December 2023 in north-central Israel was conducted. Results revealed a positive association between age and willingness to recommend (odds ratio [OR] = 2.44), while emergency department stay length showed a negative association (OR = 0.58). Satisfaction with hospital care positively influenced the willingness to recommend (OR = 1.96). Gender, comorbidities, and hospital stay length did not significantly impact willingness to recommend. The study highlights the role of satisfaction and the impact of extended emergency department stays, emphasizing the need for nuanced strategies to optimize orthopedic patient experiences.
