Farklı kültürel özelliklere sahip oldukça geniş bir coğrafyaya yayılmış olan Osmanlı Devleti, hâkimi olduğu bu coğrafyayı daha iyi yönetebilmek, içeriden ve dışarıdan gelebilecek bazı tehditlere karşı daha sağlıklı tedbirler alabilmek amacıyla istatistiğe büyük önem vermiştir. Bu istatistiksel verilerin başını devletin yönettiği insan potansiyeli oluşturmaktaydı. Osmanlılar kendisinden önceki devletlerin de yaptıkları yöntemlere benzer şekilde insan unsurunu tesbit etmekteydiler. Klasik dönemde tahrir defterleri ile kendini gösteren bu sayım faaliyeti XIX. yüzyılla birlikte yaşanan değişimlerin bir uzantısı olarak modern anlamdaki nüfus sayımlarına dönüşmüştür. Özellikle 1826 tarihinde Yeniçeri Ocağı'nın kaldırırlarak Asâkir-i Mansûre-i Muhammediye'nin kurulmasıyla hissedilen asker ihtiyacını temin ve tesbit edebilmek amacıyla daha sistematik ve düzenli nüfus sayımlarına yönelmişlerdir. Bu bağlamda Osmanlı'nın ilk nüfus sayımı 1831 tarihinde gerçekleştirilmiştir.XIX. yüzyılda Aydın Vilayeti'nde yer alan, Aydın ile Menteşe Sancakları arasında geçiş özelliğine sahip olan ve önemli bir tarım bölgesi olan Çine Kazası'na ait Başbakanlık Osmanlı Arşivi Nüfus Defterleri kataloğunda (NFS.d..) 14 defter bulunmaktadır. Bu defterler içerisinden ilk sayımın ve 10 yıllık periyodun ardından tutulan ikinci sayımın kayıtların barındıran 2904 ve 2926 numaralı defterlerin trankribsiyonu yapılarak Müslim ve Gayrimüslim nüfusun miktarı, fiziksel özellikleri, yaşları, isimleri ve lakapları, askerlik bilgileri, meslekleri, doğum ve ölüm bilgileri tesbit edilerek yorumlanmaya çalışılmıştır. Böylece XIX. yüzyılın ilk yarısında Çine Kazası'nda nüfus defterlerine yansıyan demografik özelliklerinin neler olduğu ve 10 yıllık periyot içerisinde bunların nasıl bir değişim göstermiş olabileceği sorularına cevap aranırken XIX. yüzyılda bir Osmanlı kazasının demografik durumu ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır.ANAHTAR KELİMELER: XIX. The Ottoman Empire which spread to a very large geographical area composed of different cultures, gave importance to using statistics in order to be able to administrate this large area and to take the necessary precautions to defend the country against the possibe threats from inside and outside. This statistical data at the very beginning was shaped by the human potential of the state. The Ottomans identified the human factor in a very similar way of the previous states followed in the same geography. The census activity of the Ottoman Empire which was manifested itself with the cadastral record books in the classical period, later transformed into census in the modern sense in the 19th century as an extension of the developments that had taken place in the centuries. Especially in 1826 when the Janissaries were removed and Asakir-i Mansure-i Muhammediye was replaced as a modern army, in order to determine the military needs, more systematic and regular censuses were directed by the state, itself. In this context, the first Ottoman census was carried out in 1831.There are 14 books in the catalog of the Ottoman Archive Records of Prime Ministry Population Books that belong to the 19th century Çine District which was an important agricultural region and also a transition point between Aydın and Menteşe Sanjaks in Aydın Province. The books especillay numbered as 2904 and 2926 that contain the records of the first census and the second census kept after a ten-year period, were transcributed to determine and analyze the Muslim and non-Muslim population, their physical characteristics, ages, names-nicknames, professions, birth and death data and military informations of them. Thus, this study is an effort to give an adequate answer to the reasons of the change in the demographic structure of Çine district in a ten-year period, and determine the characteristics of the population in the region in the first half of the 19th century.KEYWORDS: XIXth Century, Census, Population Records, The Sanjak of Sığla, Çine District. 277

Primary Adrenal Lymphoma (PAL) is extremely rare and usually occurs in men in the 6th-7th decade as bilateral, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Here, an 80-year-old patient admitted to the urology outpatient clinic with flank pain and bilateral adrenal mass detected on ultrasound is presented. Positron Emission Tomography-Computed Tomography (PET-CT) was planned for the patient who was referred to the endocrine outpatient clinic. The PET-CT scan revealed lobulated-contoured masses containing necrotic areas with a size of 7.4×5.5×9.8 cm, 19 Hounsfield Unit (HU), and SUVmax value of 23.9 the right adrenal, and with the size of 8.4×8.7×10.8 cm, 28 HU, SUVmax value of 27.3 in the left adrenal. These masses were reported to be not compatible with metastasis and suggested a tumor of the adrenal origin or bilateral adrenocortical carcinoma. In laboratory tests, since Adrenocorticotropic hormone level 291-592 pg/mL (high) and Cortisol level was 7.5-9.5 mcg/dL (low), bilateral adrenalectomy was performed considering adrenocortical cancer primarily. Diffuse large B cell lymphoma was determined as the result of the pathology. Postoperative hydrocortisone and fludrocortisone treatment was initiated for the patient immediately. The patient was transferred to the hematology inpatient clinic to receive Rituximab, Cyclophosphamide, Doxorubicin, Vincristine, and Prednisolone chemotherapy. In this case report, we aimed to emphasize that the differential diagnosis should be made well in massive bilateral adrenal masses. Although the diagnosis is challenging, clinicians should be alert in diagnosing lymphoma in bilateral, massive adrenal masses with adrenal insufficiency. Since this disease's prognosis is poor and aggressive, a histopathological diagnosis should be obtained, and treatment should be initiated as soon as possible.
