Abstract

The cross section of the process $e^+e^-\to\pi^+\pi^-$ has been measured in the center-of-mass energy range from 0.32 to 1.2 GeV with the CMD-3 detector at the electron-positron collider VEPP-2000. The measurement is based on an integrated luminosity of about 88 pb$^{-1}$, of which 62 pb$^{-1}$ represent a complete dataset collected by CMD-3 at center-of-mass energies below 1 GeV. In the dominant region near the $\rho$ resonance a systematic uncertainty of 0.7% was achieved. The implications of the presented results for the evaluation of the hadronic contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon are discussed., Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures; as published in Phys. Abstract

The cross section of the process $e^+e^-\to\pi^+\pi^-$ has been measured in the center of mass energy range from 0.32 to 1.2 GeV with the CMD-3 detector at the electron-positron collider VEPP-2000. The measurement is based on a full dataset collected below 1 GeV during three data taking seasons, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 62 pb$^{-1}$. In the dominant $\rho$-resonance region, a systematic uncertainty of 0.7% has been reached. At energies around $\phi$-resonance the $\pi^+\pi^-$ production cross section was measured for the first time with high beam energy resolution. The forward-backward charge asymmetry in the $\pi^+\pi^-$ production has also been measured. It shows a strong deviation from the theoretical prediction based on the conventional scalar quantum electrodynamics framework, and it is in good agreement with the generalized vector-meson-dominance and dispersive-based predictions. Abstract

We present the study of the decay $J/\psi \rightarrow \rho\pi$. The results are based on of 5.2~million $J/\psi$ events collected by the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M collider. The branching fractions are measured to be $\B(J/\psi \rightarrow \rho\pi) = \big(2.072\pm 0.017 \pm 0.062 \big)\cdot 10^{-2}$ and $\B(J/\psi \rightarrow \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0) = \big(1.878 \pm 0.013 \pm 0.051 \big)\cdot 10^{-2}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Our results are more precise than the previous relative measurements.

Abstract

The paper describes a method of the charged particle identification, developed for the \mbox{CMD-3} detector, installed at the VEPP-2000 $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider. The method is based on the application of the boosted decision trees classifiers, trained for the optimal separation of electrons, muons, pions and kaons in the momentum range from 100 to $1200~{\rm MeV}/c$. The input variables for the classifiers are linear combinations of the energy depositions of charged particles in 12 layers of the liquid xenon calorimeter of the \mbox{CMD-3}. The event samples for training of the classifiers are taken from the simulation. Various issues of the detector response tuning in simulation and calibration of the calorimeter strip channels are considered. Application of the method is illustrated by the examples of separation of the $e^+e^-(\gamma)$ and $\pi^+\pi^-(\gamma)$ final states and of selection of the $K^+K^-$ final state at high energies.

Abstract

The cross section of the process $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow\eta\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ is measured using the data collected with the CMD-$3$ detector at the VEPP-$2000$ collider in the center-of-mass energy range from $1.1$ to $2.0$ GeV. The decay mode $\eta\rightarrow\gamma\gamma$ is used for $\eta$ meson reconstruction in the data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $78.3$ pb$^{-1}$. The energy dependence of the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow\eta\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ cross section is fitted within the framework of vector meson dominance in order to extract the $\Gamma(\rho(1450)\rightarrow{^{+}e^{-}})\mathcal{B}(\rho(1450)\rightarrow\eta\pi^{+}\pi^{-})$ and the $\Gamma(\rho(1700)\rightarrow{e^{+}e^{-}})\mathcal{B}(\rho(1700)\rightarrow\eta\pi^{+}\pi^{-})$ products. Based on conservation of vector current, the analysed data are used to test the relationship between the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow\eta\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ cross section and the spectral function in $\tau^-\rightarrow\eta\pi^-\pi^0\nu_\tau$ decay. The $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow\eta\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ cross section measured with the CMD-$3$ detector is in good agreement with the previous measurements.

Abstract

The process $e^+e^-{\to}K^+K^-\eta$ has been studied in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.59 to 2.007\,GeV using the data sample of 59.5 pb$^{-1}$, collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider in 2011, 2012 and 2017. The $K^+K^-\eta$ final state is found to be dominated by the contribution of the $\phi(1020)\eta$ intermediate state. The cross section of the process $e^+e^-{\to}\phi(1020)\eta$ has been measured with a systematic uncertainty of 5.1$\%$ on the base of 3009 $\pm$ 67 selected events. The obtained cross section has been used to calculate the contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon: $a_{\mu}^{\phi\eta}(E<1.8\, {\rm GeV})=(0.321 \pm 0.015_{\rm stat} \pm 0.016_{\rm syst}) \times 10^{-10}$, $a_{\mu}^{\phi\eta}(E<2.0\, {\rm GeV})=(0.440 \pm 0.015_{\rm stat} \pm 0.022_{\rm syst}) \times 10^{-10}$. From the cross section approximation the $\phi(1680)$ meson parameters have been determined with better statistical precision, than in previous studies.

Abstract

The present work continues a series of the KEDR measurements of the $R$ value that started in 2010 at the VEPP-4M $e^+e^-$ collider. By combining new data with our previous results in this energy range we measured the values of $R_{\text{uds}}$ and $R$ at nine center-of-mass energies between 3.08 and 3.72 GeV. The total accuracy is about or better than $2.6\%$ at most of energy points with a systematic uncertainty of about $1.9\%$. Together with the previous precise $R$ measurement at KEDR in the energy range 1.84-3.05 GeV, it constitutes the most detailed high-precision $R$ measurement near the charmonium production threshold., Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1610.02827 and substantial text overlap with arXiv:1510.02667

Abstract

The product of the electronic width of the $\psi(2S)$ meson and the branching fraction of its decay to the muon pair was measured in the $e^{+}e^{-} \to \psi(2S) \to \mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ process using nine data sets corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 6.5 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M electron-positron collider: \[ \Gamma_{ee}\times\mathcal{B}_{\mu\mu} = 19.3 \pm 0.3 \pm 0.5 ~\text{eV}. \] Adding the previous KEDR results on hadronic and leptonic channels, the values of the $\psi(2S)$ electronic width were obtained under two assumptions: either with the assumption of lepton universality \[ \Gamma_{ee} = 2.279 \pm 0.015 \pm 0.042 ~\text{keV} \] or without it, summing up hadronic and three independent leptonic channels: \[ \Gamma_{ee} = 2.282 \pm 0.015 \pm 0.042 ~\text{keV}. \]

Abstract

The product of the electronic width of the $J/\psi$ meson and the branching fractions of its decay to hadrons and electrons has been measured using the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M $e^+e^-$ collider. The obtained values are: $\Gamma_{ee}(J/\psi) = 5.550 \pm 0.056 \pm 0.089 \, \text{keV}, $ $\Gamma_{ee}(J/\psi) \cdot \mathcal{B}_\text{hadrons}(J/\psi) = 4.884 \pm 0.048 \pm 0.078 \, \text{keV}, $ $\Gamma_{ee}(J/\psi) \cdot \mathcal{B}_{ee}(J/\psi) = 0.3331 \pm 0.0066 \pm 0.0040 \, \text{keV}.$ The uncertainties shown are statistical and systematic, respectively. Using the result presented and the world-average value of the electronic branching fraction, one obtains the total width of the $J/\psi$ meson: $\Gamma = 92.94 \pm 1.83 \, \text{keV}.$ These results are consistent with the previous experiments., Comment: 19 pages, 13 figures

Abstract

The process $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-$ has been studied using $1.7 \times 10^6$ events from a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.7 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMD-3 detector in the center-of-mass energy range 1010--1060 MeV. The cross section measured with an about 2\% systematic uncertainty and it is used to calculate the contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon $a_{\mu}^{K^+K^-} = (19.33 \pm 0.40) \times 10^{-10}$, and to obtain the $\phi(1020)$ meson parameters. We consider the relationship between the $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-$ and $e^+e^- \to K^0_SK^0_L$ cross sections and compare it to the theoretical expectations.

Abstract

A cross section of the process $e^+e^- \to \pipi\pipi$ has been measured using 6798$\pm$93 signal events from a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9.8 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMD-3 detector in the center-of-mass energy range 920--1060 MeV. The measured cross section exhibits an interference pattern of the $\phi(1020)\to\pipi\pipi$ decay with a non-resonant process $e^+e^- \to \pipi\pipi$, from which we obtain the branching fraction of the doubly suppressed decays (by G-parity and OZI rule): $\BR(\phi\to\pipi\pipi) = (6.5\pm2.7\pm1.6)\times 10^{-6}$., Comment: 16 pages, 6 figures

Abstract

Using the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M $e^+e^-$ collider, we have determined the values of $R$ at thirteen points of the center-of-mass energy between 1.84 and 3.05 GeV. Abstract

The process $e^+e^-\to\omega\eta\pi^0$ is studied in the energy range $1.45-2.00$ GeV using data with an integrated luminosity of 33 pb$^{-1}$ accumulated by the SND detector at the $e^+e^-$ collider VEPP-2000. The $e^+e^-\to\omega\eta\pi^0$ cross section is measured for the first time. The cross section has a threshold near 1.75 GeV. Its value is about 2 nb in the energy range $1.8-2.0$ GeV. Abstract

Using the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M $e^+e^-$ collider, we have measured the values of $R_{\text{uds}}$ and $R$ at seven points of the center-of-mass energy between 3.12 and 3.72 GeV. The total achieved accuracy is about or better than $3.3\%$ at most of energy points with a systematic uncertainty of about $2.1\%$. At the moment it is the most accurate measurement of $R(s)$ in this energy range.

Abstract

The process $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-$ has been studied in the center-of-mass energy range from 1500 to 2000\,MeV using a data sample of 23 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider. Using about 24000 selected events, the $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-$ cross section has been measured with a systematic uncertainty decreasing from 11.7\% at 1500-1600\,MeV to 6.1\% above 1800\,MeV. A preliminary study of $K^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-$ production dynamics has been performed.

Abstract

Using a data sample of 6.8 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider we select about 2700 events of the $e^+e^- \to p\bar{p}$ process and measure its cross section at 12 energy ponts with about 6\% systematic uncertainty. From the angular distribution of produced nucleons we obtain the ratio $|G_{E}/G_{M}| = 1.49 \pm 0.23 \pm 0.30$.

Abstract

A search for the process $e^+e^- \to \eta^\prime$ has been performed with the SND detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider. The data were accumulated at the center-of-mass energy of $957.78\pm 0.06$ MeV with an integrated luminosity of about 2.9 pb$^{-1}$. For reconstruction of the $\eta^\prime$ meson five decay chains have been used: $\eta^{\prime}\to\eta\pi^+\pi^-$ followed by the $\eta$ decays to $\gamma\gamma$ and $3\pi^0 $, and $\eta^{\prime} \to \eta\pi^0\pi^0$ followed by the $\eta$ decays to $\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0$, $\gamma\gamma$, and $3\pi^0$. As a result, the upper limit has been set on the $\eta^\prime$ electronic width: $\Gamma_{\eta^{\prime}\to e^+e^-} < 0.0020$ eV at the 90\% confidence level., Comment: 12 pages, 6 figures

Abstract

In the experiment with the SND detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider the cross section for the process $e^+e^-\to\eta\pi^+\pi^-$ has been measured in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.22 to 2.00 GeV. Obtained results are in agreement with previous measurements and have better accuracy. The energy dependence of the $e^+e^-\to\eta\pi^+\pi^-$ cross section has been fitted with the vector-meson dominance model. From this fit the product of the branching fractions $B(\rho(1450)\to\eta\pi^+\pi^-)B(\rho(1450)\to e^+e^-)$ has been extracted and compared with the same products for $\rho(1450)\to\omega\pi^0$ and $\rho(1450)\to\pi^+\pi^-$ decays. The obtained cross section data have been also used to test the conservation of vector current hypothesis., Comment: 9 pages, 7 figures

Abstract

A search for the process $\epem\to \eta^\prime(958)$ in the $\pipi\eta\to\pipi\gamma\gamma$ final state has been performed with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider. Abstract

Using the inclusive photon spectrum based on a data sample collected at the $J/\psi$ peak with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M $e^+e^-$ collider, we measured the rate of the radiative decay $J/\psi\to\gamma\eta_{\rm c}$ as well as $\eta_{\rm c}$ mass and width. Taking into account an asymmetric photon lineshape we obtained $\Gamma^0_{\gamma\eta_{\rm c}}=2.98\pm0.18 \phantom{|}^{+0.15}_{-0.33}$ keV, $M_{\eta_{\rm c}} = 2983.5 \pm 1.4 \phantom{|}^{+1.6}_{-3.6}$ MeV/$c^2$, $\Gamma_{\eta_{\rm c}} = 27.2 \pm 3.1 \phantom{|}^{+5.4}_{-2.6}$ MeV., Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures

Abstract

The $e^+e^-\to\eta\gamma$ cross section has been measured in the center-of-mass energy range 1.07--2.00 GeV using the decay mode $\eta\to 3\pi^0$, $\pi^0\to \gamma\gamma$. The analysis is based on 36 pb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity collected with the SND detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider. Abstract

The ratio of the electron and muon widths of the $J/\psi$ meson has been measured using direct $J/\psi$ decays in the KEDR experiment at the VEPP-4M electron-positron collider. The result $\Gamma_{ee}(J/\psi)/\Gamma_{\mu\mu}(J/\psi)=1.0022\pm0.0044\pm0.0048\ (0.65\%)$ is in good agreement with the lepton universality. Abstract

The cross section for the process e+e- --> omega pi0 --> pi0 pi0 gamma has been measured in the energy range 1.05--2.00 GeV. The experiment has been performed at the e+e- collider VEPP-2000 with the SND detector. The measured e+e- --> omega pi0 cross section above 1.4 GeV is the most accurate to date. Below 1.4 GeV our data are in good agreement with the previous SND and CMD-2 measurements. Data on the e+e- --> omega pi0 cross section are well described by the VMD model with two excited rho-like states. From the measured cross section we have extracted the gamma^* --> omega pi0 transition form factor. It has been found that the VDM model cannot describe simultaneously our data and data obtained from the omega --> pi0 mu+ mu- decay. We have also tested CVC hypothesis comparing our results on the e+e- --> omega pi0 cross section with data on the tau- --> omega pi- nu_{tau} decay., Comment: 12 pages, 6 figures

Abstract

The cross section of the process $e^+e^- \to 3(\pi^+\pi^-)$ has been measured using 22 pb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider in the c.m. energy range 1.5 -- 2.0 GeV. The measured cross section exhibits a sharp drop near the $p\bar p$ threshold. A first study of dynamics of six-pion production has been performed.

Abstract

We report a new precise determination of the leptonic widths of the J/psi meson performed with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider. The measured values of the J/psi parameters are: \Gamma_{ee}\times\Gamma_{ee}/\Gamma = 0.3323 \pm 0.0064 (stat.) \pm 0.0048 (syst.) keV \Gamma_{ee}\times\Gamma_{\mu\mu}/\Gamma=0.3318 \pm 0.0052 (stat.) \pm 0.0063 (syst.) keV. Assuming $e\mu$ universality and using the table value of the branching ratios the leptonic \Gamma_{ll}= 5.59 \pm 0.12 keV width and the total \Gamma=94.1 \pm 2.7 keV widths were obtained. Abstract

We report the final results of a study of the \psi(3770) meson using a data sample collected with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M electron-positron collider. The data analysis takes into account the interference between the resonant and nonresonant $D\bar{D}$ production, where the latter is related to the nonresonant part of the energy-dependent form factor $F_D$. The vector dominance approach and several empirical parameterizations have been tried for the nonresonant $F_D^{\NR}(s)$. Our results for the mass and total width of \psi(3770) are M = 3779.2 ^{+1.8}_{-1.7} ^{+0.5}_{-0.7} ^{+0.3}_{-0.3} MeV, \Gamma =24.9 ^{+4.6}_{-4.0} ^{+0.5}_{-0.6} ^{+0.2}_{-0.9} MeV, where the first, second and third uncertainties are statistical, systematic and model, respectively. For the electron partial width two possible solutions have been found: (1) \Gamma_{ee} = 154 ^{+79}_{-58} ^{+17}_{-9} ^{+13}_{-25} eV, (2) \Gamma_{ee} = 414 ^{+72}_{-80} ^{+24}_{-26} ^{+90}_{-10} eV. Our statistics are insufficient to prefer one solution to another. The solution (2) mitigates the problem of non-$D\bar{D}$ decays but is disfavored by potential models. It is shown that taking into account the resonance--continuum interference in the near-threshold region affects resonance parameters, thus the results presented can not be directly compared with the corresponding PDG values obtained ignoring this effect.

Abstract

A high-precision determination of the main parameters of the \psi(2S) resonance has been performed with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M e^{+}e^{-} collider in three scans of the \psi(2S) -- \psi(3770) energy range. Fitting the energy dependence of the multihadron cross section in the vicinity of the \psi(2S) we obtained the mass value M = 3686.114 +- 0.007 +- 0.011 ^{+0.002}_{-0.012} MeV and the product of the electron partial width by the branching fraction into hadrons \Gamma_{ee}*B_{h} = 2.233 +- 0.015 +- 0.037 +- 0.020 keV. The third error quoted is an estimate of the model dependence of the result due to assumptions on the interference effects in the cross section of the single-photon e^{+}e^{-} annihilation to hadrons explicitly considered in this work. Implicitly, the same assumptions were employed to obtain the charmonium leptonic width and the absolute branching fractions in many experiments. Using the result presented and the world average values of the electron and hadron branching fractions, one obtains the electron partial width and the total width of the \psi(2S): \Gamma_{ee} =2.282 +- 0.015 +- 0.038 +- 0.021 keV, \Gamma = 296 +- 2 +- 8 +- 3 keV. These results are consistent with and more than two times more precise than any of the previous experiments.

Abstract

We report results of a search for narrow resonances in e+ e- annihilation at center-of-mass energies between 1.85 and 3.1 GeV performed with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M e+ e- collider. The upper limit on the leptonic width of a narrow resonance Gamma(R -> ee) Br(R -> hadr) < 120 eV has been obtained (at 90 % C.L.).

Abstract

We present a study of the inclusive photon spectrum from 6.3 million J/psi decays collected with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M e+e- collider. We measure the branching fraction of the radiative decay J/psi -> eta_c gamma, eta_c width and mass. Taking into account an asymmetric photon line shape we obtain: M(eta_c) = (2978.1 +- 1.4 +- 2.0) MeV/c^2, Gamma(eta_c) = (43.5 +- 5.4 +- 15.8) MeV, B(J/psi->eta_c gamma) = (2.59 +- 0.16 +- 0.31)%$., Comment: 6 pages, 1 figure. Abstract

The $\phi$(1020) meson leptonic width has been determined from the combined analysis of 4 major decay modes of the resonance ($\phi\to K^+ K^-,K^0_LK^0_S,\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0,\eta\gamma$) studied with the CMD-2 detector at the VEPP-2M $e^+e^-$ collider. The following value has been obtained: $\Gamma(\phi\to e^+e^-) = 1.235\pm 0.006\pm 0.022$ keV. The $\phi(1020)$ meson parameters in four main decay channels have been also recalculated: $B(\phi\to K^+K^-) = 0.493\pm 0.003\pm 0.007$, $B(\phi\to K_LK_S) = 0.336\pm 0.002\pm 0.006$, $B(\phi\to\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0) = 0.155\pm 0.002\pm 0.005$, $B(\phi\to\eta\gamma) = 0.0138\pm 0.0002\pm 0.0002$., Comment: 14 pages, 3 figures

Abstract

The products of the electron width of the J/\psi meson and the branching fraction of its decays to the lepton pairs were measured using data from the KEDR experiment at the VEPP-4M electron-positron collider. The results are \Gamma_{ee}(J/\psi)*Br(J/\psi->e^+e^-)=(0.3323\pm0.0064\pm0.0048) keV, \Gamma_{ee}(J/\psi)*Br(J/\psi->\mu^+\mu^-)=(0.3318\pm0.0052\pm0.0063) keV. Their combinations \Gamma_{ee}\times(\Gamma_{ee}+\Gamma_{\mu\mu})/\Gamma=(0.6641\pm0.0082\pm0.0100) keV, \Gamma_{ee}/\Gamma_{\mu\mu}=1.002\pm0.021\pm0.013 can be used to improve theaccuracy of the leptonic and full widths and test leptonic universality. Assuming e\mu universality and using the world average value of the lepton branching fraction, we also determine the leptonic \Gamma_{ll}=5.59\pm0.12 keV and total \Gamma=94.1\pm2.7 keV widths of the J/\psi meson., Comment: 7 pages, 6 figures

Abstract

This paper describes the experimental studies of the formation of nano-diamonds during detonation of TNT/RDX 50/50 mixture with small-angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) method at a synchrotron radiation beam on VEPP-3 accelerator. A new experimental method with introduction of nano-diamonds into the explosive has been applied. Abstract

The cross section of the process e+e-\to\mu+\mu- was measured in the SND experiment at the VEPP-2M e+e- collider in the energy region \sqrt{s}=980, 1040 -- 1380 MeV. The event numbers of the process e+e-\to\mu+\mu- were normalized to the integrated luminosity measured using e+e-\to e+e- and e+e-\to\gamma\gamma processes. The ratio of the measured cross section to the theoretically predicted value is 1.006\pm 0.007 \pm 0.016 and 1.005 \pm 0.007 \pm 0.018 in the first and second case respectively. Using results of the measurements, the electromagnetic running coupling constant \alpha in the energy region \sqrt{s}=1040 -- 1380 MeV was obtained <1/\alpha> = 134.1\pm 0.5 \pm 1.2 and this is in agreement with theoretical expectation., Comment: 29 pages, 23 figures

Abstract

The process e+ e- -> phi -> K+ K- has been studied with the CMD-2 detector using about 542 000 events detected in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.01 to 1.034 GeV. The systematic error of the cross section is estimated to be 2.2%. The phi(1020) meson parameters in the phi -> K+K- decay channel have been measured: sigma_0(phi-> K+K-) = 2016 +- 8 +- 44 nb, m(phi) = 1019.441 +- 0.008 +- 0.080 MeV/c2, Gamma(phi) = 4.24 +- 0.02 +- 0.03 MeV, B(e+e-)B(K+K-) = (14.27 +- 0.05 +- 0.31)*10(-5)., Comment: 12 pages, 6 figures, 2 tables, uses elsart.cls (second version - some figures are corrected)

Abstract

The detector for imaging of explosions (DIMEX) is in operation at the synchrotron radiation (SR) beam-line at VEPP-3 electron ring at Budker INP since 2002. DIMEX is based on one-coordinate gas ionization chamber filled with Xe-CO2(3:1) mixture at 7atm, and active Frisch-grid made of Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM). The detector has spatial resolution of ~0.2mm and dynamic range of ~100 that allows to realize the precision of signal measurement at a percent level. The frame rate can be tuned up to 8 MHz (125 ns per image) and up to 32 images can be stored in one shot. At present DIMEX is used with the X-ray beam from 2T wiggler that has ~20 keV average energy. Future possibility to install similar detector at the SR beam-line at VEPP-4 electron ring is discussed., Comment: 14 pages, 15 figures. Submitted to JINST

Abstract

A one-coordinate gaseous detector of soft X-ray photons for wide-angle X-ray scattering (WAXS) studies is being developed. The detector operates in counting mode and is based on multi-stage Gas Electron Multiplier(GEM). Full size detector is assembled and has 67 degrees aperture with 350mm distance to the source, readout multi-strip structure with 2048 strips at 0.2mm pitch and is partially equipped with readout electronics in the central part. Main parameters of the detector have been measured with 8keV X-ray beam at VEPP-3 synchrotron ring. Spatial resolution of 470 um (FWHM) has been demonstrated that will allow to distinguish diffraction spots at 0.1 degrees.

Abstract

The status of the experiment on the precise $\tau$ lepton mass measurement running at the VEPP-4M collider with the KEDR detector is reported. The mass value is evaluated from the $\tau^+\tau^-$ cross section behaviour around the production threshold. The preliminary result based on 6.7 pb$^{-1}$ of data is $m_{\tau}=1776.80^{+0.25}_{-0.23} \pm 0.15$ MeV. Using 0.8 pb$^{-1}$ of data collected at the $\psi'$ peak the preliminary result is also obtained: $\Gamma_{ee}B_{\tau\tau}(\psi') = 7.2 \pm 2.1$ eV., Comment: 6 pages, 8 figures; The 9th International Workshop on Tau-Lepton Physics, Tau06
