This work provided a detailed theoretical analysis of fractional ordinary differential equations with Caputo and the Atangana-Baleanu fractional derivative. The work started with an extension of Tychonoff's fixed point and the Perron principle to prove the global existence with extra conditions due to the properties of the fractional derivatives used. Then, a detailed analysis of the existence of maximal and minimal solutions was presented for both cases. Then, using Chaplygin's approach with extra conditions, we also established the existence and uniqueness of the solutions of these equations. The Abel and the Bernoulli equations were considered as illustrative examples and were solved using the fractional middle point method.

This research looked at nonlinear ordinary differential equations with global differential operators and the Dirac-delta and exponential decay kernels. A recently developed numerical approach based on the repetitive use of the well-known midpoint quadrature approximation. Although no theoretical analysis was offered, the method was applied to solve several nonlinear equations in chaos and epidemiology. The observed findings demonstrate the effect of the chosen function gt, for example, a simple SIR model produced chaotic and crossover behaviors.

Some new uniqueness theorems are proposed and a flexible, efficient numerical algorithm is formulated and analysed for convergence and numerically verified for nonlinear fractal-fractional differential equations with Mittag-Leffler kernel. Under some generalized conditions which admit a wider class of functions than the standard Lipschitz condition, the uniqueness of solution is established. By linearly interpolating between grid points, we design a numerical algorithm. Unlike existing methods, our constructed method avoids any form of grid restriction, uses minimal computation of special functions and is second order accurate under appropriate smoothness conditions. The convergence of the method is fully analysed, and numerical test cases are presented to verify the convergence result.

AbstractIn this article, a new approach to study the fractionalized second grade fluid flow is described by the different fractional derivative operators near an exponentially accelerated vertical plate together with exponentially variable velocity, energy and mass diffusion through a porous media is critically examined. The phenomenon has been expressed in terms of partial differential equations, then transformed the governing equations in non-dimentional form. For the sake of better rheology of second grade fluid, developed a fractional model by applying the new definition of Constant Proportional-Caputo hybrid derivative (CPC), Atangana Baleanu in Caputo sense (ABC) and Caputo Fabrizio (CF) fractional derivative operators that describe the generalized memory effects. For seeking exact solutions in terms of Mittag-Leffler and G-functions for velocity, temperature and concentration equations, Laplace integral transformation technique is applied. For physical significance of various system parameters on fluid velocity, concentration and temperature distributions are demonstrated through various graphs by using graphical software. Furthermore, for being validated the acquired solutions, accomplished a comparative analysis with some published work. It is also analyzed that for exponential heating and non-uniform velocity conditions, the CPC fractional operator is the finest fractional model to describe the memory effect of velocity, energy and concentration profile. Moreover, the graphical representations of the analytical solutions illustrated the main results of the present work. Also, in the literature, it is observed that to derived analytical results from fractional fluid models developed by the various fractional operators, is difficult and this article contributing to answer the open problem of obtaining analytical solutions the fractionalized fluid models.

In this paper, Witte's conditions for the uniqueness solution of nonlinear differential equations with integer and non-integer order derivatives are investigated. We present a detailed analysis of the uniqueness solutions of four classes of nonlinear differential equations with nonlocal operators. These classes include classical and fractional ordinary differential equations in fractal calculus. For each case, theorems and lemmas and their proofs are presented in detail.

Groundwater, a vital source of fresh water for many, has been negatively impacted by human activities, climate change, and poor management. Human remains from cemeteries can contribute significantly to groundwater pollution if there is a potential connection between the cemetery and the underlying aquifer. This study aimed to assess the impact of cemeteries on groundwater using piecewise differentiation to derive decay models and numerical simulations. The results confirmed observations, and in the unlikely event of a connection between the cemetery and the underlying groundwater, each body could be considered a source of groundwater pollution. The concept of piecewise differentiation was used to provide piecewise advection-dispersion equations, and numerical simulations were presented.

29. Les procédés d’hybridité langagière dans les productions littéraires francophones

Language and Literature - Abstract

Abstract The subject of the article is devoted to the development of a matrix collocation technique based upon the combination of the fractional-order shifted Vieta–Lucas functions (FSVLFs) and the quasilinearization method (QLM) for the numerical evaluation of the fractional multi-order heat conduction model related to the human head with singularity and nonlinearity. The fractional operators are adopted in accordance with the Liouville–Caputo derivative. The quasilinearization method (QLM) is first utilized in order to defeat the inherent nonlinearity of the problem, which is converted to a family of linearized subequations. Afterward, we use the FSVLFs along with a set of collocation nodes as the zeros of these functions to reach a linear algebraic system of equations at each iteration. In the weighted $$L_2$$ L 2 norm, the convergence analysis of the FSVLFs series solution is established. We especially assert that the expansion series form of FSVLFs is convergent in the infinity norm with order $${\mathcal {O}(\frac{1}{K^3})}$$ O ( 1 K 3 ) , where K represents the number of FSVLFs used in approximating the unknown solution. Diverse computational experiments by running the presented combined QLM-FSVLFs are conducted using various fractional orders and nonlinearity parameters. The outcomes indicate that the QLM-FSVLFs produces efficient approximate solutions to the underlying model with high-order accuracy, especially near the singular point. Furthermore, the methodology of residual error functions is employed to measure the accuracy of the proposed hybrid algorithm. Comparisons with existing numerical models show the superiority of QLM-FSVLFs, which also is straightforward in implementation.

The parametrized approach is extended in this study to find solutions to differential equations with fractal, fractional, fractal-fractional, and piecewise derivatives with the inclusion of a stochastic component. The existence and uniqueness of the solution to the stochastic Atangana-Baleanu fractional differential equation are established using Caratheodory's existence theorem. For the solution of differential equations using piecewise differential operators, which take into account combining deterministic and stochastic processes utilizing certain significant mathematical tools such as fractal and fractal-fractional derivatives, the applicability of the parametrized technique is being examined. We discuss the crossover behaviors of the model obtained by including these operators and we present some illustrative examples for some problems with piecewise differential operators.

The existence and uniqueness of solutions to nonlinear ordinary differential equations with fractal-fractional derivatives, with Dirac-delta, exponential decay, power law, and generalized Mittag-Leffler kernels, have been the focus of this work. To do this, we used the Chaplygin approach, which entails creating two lower and upper sequences that converge to the solution of the equations under consideration. We have for each case provided the conditions under which these sequences are obtained and converge.

The construction of super-large tunnels generates various safety risks that can hamper the tunneling process and cause severe damages if not properly identified. This paper presents a case study on the identification and management of geological and environmental risks during the construction of the largest (a diameter of 15.8 m) slurry shield tunnel in China. Its ground conditions and settlement control were identified among the most challenging owing to a large area of mixed ground conditions, 11 fault zones and tunneling under residential areas and the city’s Metro Lines 1 and 9. In response to the severity of these risks and challenges, novel monitoring systems, ground treatment, and safety management technologies were successfully implemented throughout the tunneling process. Further, a technical framework was proposed in this study to serve as a risk management guidance for analogous tunneling operations.

The Kribi-Campo sub-basin, located in the Gulf of Guinea, constitutes the southeastern segment of the Cameroon Atlantic Margin. Drilling in the Aptian salt unit revealed a sparse hydrocarbon presence, contrasting with modest finds in its counterparts like the Ezanga Salt in Gabon and the Rio Muni Salt in Equatorial Guinea. This discrepancy prompted a reassessment of the depositional context and hydrocarbon potential of the Mundeck salt unit. By integrating 2D seismic reflection and borehole data analysis, this study established the structural and stratigraphic framework of the area, emphasizing the salt unit’s significance. Borehole data indicate a localized salt unit offshore Kribi, with seismic reflection data revealing distinct forms of diapir and pillow. This salt unit displays a substantial lateral extent with thicknesses ranging from 4000 m to 6000 m. The depositional context is linked to the following two major geological events: a significant sea-level drop due to margin uplift during the Aptian and thermodynamic processes driven by transfer faults related to mid-oceanic ridge formation. These events were crucial in forming and evolving the Mundeck Salt. Regarding hydrocarbon prospects, this study identifies the unit as being associated with potential petroleum plays, supported by direct hydrocarbon indicators and fault-related structures. The findings suggest that untapped hydrocarbon resources may still exist, underscoring the need for further exploration and analysis.

- Abstract
Purpose: This work aims to assess the effects of information and communication technology (ICT) on inequalities in access to professional training (PT) in Cameroon. Design/methodology/approach: This study used data from the fourth Cameroonian Household Survey (ECAM 4), the concentration index (CI) calculations and the Wagstaff et al. (2003) decomposition. Findings: The preliminary results show that the CI calculations by groups of individuals reveal the existence of significant inequalities in favour of the poor. This is the case for all groups of individuals who use ICT tools, namely radio, internet, telephone and television. The results of the Wagstaff et al. (2003) decomposition reveal that an equitable distribution of income between those who use and those who do not use the telephone, radio and internet reduces inequalities in access to FP in favour of the poor. Originality/value: Despite the wealth of literature devoted to the study of inequalities in access to education, the consideration of PT is still very marginal. In Cameroon, the literature devoted to the study of inequalities in access to PT is still almost non-existent, probably because of a low level of interest in the scientific community. However, as just seen, PT is a tool for combating unemployment, particularly in economies where the informal sector is important, insofar as the proportion of unemployed and inactive people is very low amongst the ones that have taken a PT course. Moreover, studies on the effects of ICT on inequalities in access to PT are still rare in the literature.

Background: COVID-19 is primarily known as a respiratory illness; however, many patients present to hospital without respiratory symptoms. The association between non-respiratory presentations of COVID-19 and outcomes remains unclear. We investigated risk factors and clinical outcomes in patients with no respiratory symptoms (NRS) and respiratory symptoms (RS) at hospital admission. Methods: This study describes clinical features, physiological parameters, and outcomes of hospitalised COVID-19 patients, stratified by the presence or absence of respiratory symptoms at hospital admission. RS patients had one or more of: cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose or wheezing; while NRS patients did not. Results: Of 178,640 patients in the study, 86.4 % presented with RS, while 13.6 % had NRS. NRS patients were older (median age: NRS: 74 vs RS: 65) and less likely to be admitted to the ICU (NRS: 36.7 % vs RS: 37.5 %). NRS patients had a higher crude in-hospital case-fatality ratio (NRS 41.1 % vs. RS 32.0 %), but a lower risk of death after adjusting for confounders (HR 0.88 [0.83–0.93]). Conclusion: Approximately one in seven COVID-19 patients presented at hospital admission without respiratory symptoms. These patients were older, had lower ICU admission rates, and had a lower risk of in-hospital mortality after adjusting for confounders.

This work deals with the conversion of flow from confined to unconfined aquifers, a real-world problem that has attracted the attention of several authors. We have introduced a piecewise modified mathematical model where the first part deals with the flow within a confined system, and the second part deals with the flow within an unconfined system. In the unconfined part, we added the randomness to capture stochastic behaviours that could occur due to the geological formation. Moreover, we used a numerical method to solve the stochastic differential equations. The obtained model was evaluated numerically using some numerical scheme, and the stability analysis was performed using the von Neumann approach and the numerical simulations were presented.

Mathematical analysis with numerical application of the newly formulated fractional version of the Adams-Bashforth method using the Atangana-Baleanu derivative which has nonlocal and nonsingular properties is considered in this paper. We adopt the fixed point theory and approximation method to prove the existence and uniqueness of the solution via general two-component time-fractional differential equations. The method is tested with three nonlinear chaotic dynamical systems in which the integer-order derivative is modeled with the proposed fractional-order case. Simulation result for different $\alpha$ values in $(0,1]$ is presented., Comment: 11 figures, fractional Adams-Bashforth method and corrections

The Picard iterative approach used in the paper to derive conditions under which nonlinear ordinary differential equations based on the derivative with the Mittag-Leffler kernel admit a unique solution. Using a simple Euler approximation and Heun's approach, we solved this nonlinear equation numerically. Some examples of a nonlinear linear differential equation were considered to present the existence and uniqueness of their solutions as well as their numerical solutions. A chaotic model was also considered to show the extension of this in the case of nonlinear systems.
