Sampah adalah masalah dunia. Perlu sebuah aksi pengurangan sampah dari hulu dengan konsep 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). Berbagai macam sampah sebagai hasil samping kegiatan manusia terus diproduksi setiap harinya, maka Perlu adanya pembenahan budaya bagi masyarakat indonesia mengenai pengelolaan sampah plastik. Penanaman nilai kebersihan lingkungan terhadap anak sejak dini sangatlah penting, karena Anak-anak yang masih dalam tahap perkembangan berada pada proses imitasi dengan melihat apa yang orang dewasa di sekitarnya lakukan. Perlu dilakukan kegiatan edukasi lingkungan hidup mengenai gaya hidup bijak dalam penggunaan plastik melalui kegiatan mewarnai tas pakai ulang (Totebag) bagi anak anak. Kegiatan ini dimaksudkan sebagai wahana edukasi lingkungan hidup dalam menanamkan sebuah gaya hidup “Zero Waste” melalui moto kang pisman (kurangi, pisahkan dan manfaatkan) kepada siswa RA disalah satu RA Kabupaten Bandung. Secara Garis besar Pelaksanaakan kegiatan ini dapat dikategorikan sukses dan berjalan dengan baik. Hal ini dapat ditunjukan dengan sebagian besar pemberian respon dari peserta siswa RA, Guru dan Kepala sekolah RA yang mengungkapkan bahwa kegiatan ini sangat baik karena dapat memberikan manfaat dan memperluas wawasan mereka selaku anggota masyarakat yang di lingkungan mereka terkenal selalu rawan kejadian banjir akibat penanganan sampah plastik yang tidak baik.

Surili ( Presbytis comata ) is one of endemic primates of West Java whose existence is protected. The purpose of the research was to determine the estimated home range and the preferences of food plant of P. comata at Situ Patengan Nature Reserve, West Java. The home range was determined by the minimum convex polygon method by connecting the coordinates of the outermost entire outer area groups. Focal animal sampling and Ad-libitum methods were applied to obtain data of food preferences in details. The result showed that home range of several P. comata groupsat Situ Patengan Nature Reserve were varied. The home range of group A, B, C, and D were covering 3.52 Ha, 4.43 Ha, 3.76 Ha, and 3.14 Ha respectively, while the solitary individual has a home range covering 2.64 Ha. There were 27 species from 16 families of plants that was directly consumed by P. comata. P. comata more often consumed Castanopsis javanica (10.07%), C. argentea (9.35%), C. tungurut (7.91%), Sloneasigun (7.91%), and Quercus sp (7.19%). This data can be useful as a reference in P. Comata population and habitat management especially in the area of Situ Patengan.

Black Soldier fly larvae is an insect capable to convert organic waste into body biomass. The purpose of this research was to determine the productivity, mass balance of the consumption process, and content of protein and fat of prepupa which has a potency as a livestock feed. This research used 6-day-old larvae, they were fed with cassava skin that has been smoothed with a variety of feeding doses: 12.5; 25; 50; 100; and 200 (mg / larvae / day) with ratio of feed and water 2: 1. The results showed that the feeding of 200 mg / larva / day produced the best larval growth with biomass productivity of 1.54 mg / day, residue yielded of 67.1 mg / day. The organic waste was convertion into larvae biomass. In this study, approximately consumption process scale is feed successfully converted to biomass 2.77%, metabolism 6.98%, and 90.24% residue. Protein content is 25.7%. It can be concluded that the larvae are able to convert organic waste into high protein biomass and potentially being used as a livestock feed. This research acts a model to predict mass balance of substrates for feed. The benefit of this research is the science approach used in this study that can be used as a reference by researchers and the community to determine the biomass production of an organism.

Gedebage is projected to be the center of Bandung city government. A good urban plan must have at least thirty percent green open space in that area. Therefore, it is necessary to plant more trees on the Gedebage to increase green open space. To enrich bird diversity, the type of plants that planted on green open space must have added value as bird habitat. The aim of this study is to obtain a list of plants used by birds that are suitable and can grow well in the Gedebage. The method used was direct observation with line transect method to record plants species that used by birds in Bandung city park. Then the growth requirement of recorded plants was studied based on literature. This study shows only 21 species of 33 plants species that used by bird are suitable growing in Gedebage. Based on this research, we recommend 21 species of plants that are suitable to be planted in Gedebage that can increased number of green open space and also attract birds so that the diversity of birds in Gedebage can be increased. The results of this study can also be applied in areas with similar physical conditions to Gedebage.

In the hadith, Rasulullah SAW prohibit human to consume meat and milk from manure-eating animal ( Jallalah animal). In this study, tilapia fishes were fed chicken manure (being Jallalah ). Then, it was analyzed based on the microbe in their intestine. The purposes of this study are to isolate and to identify the types of bacteria, and to determine the pathogenic and non-pathogenic bacteria in the intestines of fish that have been fed chicken manure. Bacteria samples were isolated from the intestine of fish with chicken manure and the commercial fish food as a control. Bacteria identification was done by using morphological characterization, macroscopic and microscopic identification, and biochemical test. The results show that 21 isolated bacteria in the fish intestine that was fed chicken manure and six of the bacteria are pathogenic. Based on this study, it can be concluded that tilapia fish by feeding with chicken manure contains many types of pathogens bacteria. Briefly, tilapia fish is not good for being consumption. Abstrak : Dalam hadis yang diriwayatkan oleh Ibnu Umar, Rasulullah SAW . Melarang memakan daging dan meminum susu hewan pemakan kotoran (hewan Jallalah ). Pada penelitian ini, ikan nila diberi pakan kotoran ayam (menjadi Jallalah ). Selanjutnya ikan tersebut dianalisis kandungan mikroba yang terkandung didalam saluran pencernaannya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengisolasi dan mengidentifikasi bentuk bakteri dan mendeterminasi bakteri patogen dan non-patogen yang terdapat didalam saluran pencernaan ikan ynag telah diberi pakan kotoran ayam. Sampel bakteri diisolasi dari saluran pencernaan ikan setelah diberi kotoran ayam dan ikan yang diberi pakan komersil (kontrol). Identifikasi bakteri dilakukan secara makroskopik, mikroskopik, dan uji biokimia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ditemukan 21 isolat bakteri dalam usus ikan yang diberi korotan ayam yang tergolong ke dalam genus Listeria, Staphylococcus, Alcaligenes, Cromobacterium, Edwardisiella, Micrococcus, Bacillus, dan Kurthia. Dari 21 jenis tersebut terdapat 6 jenis bakteri pathogen yaitu Edwarsiella sp, Micrococcus sp, Staphylococcus sp, Alcaligenes sp, Listeria sp dan Chromobacterium . Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini bahwa hewan ikan yang memakan kotoran ayam mengandung banyak jenis bakteri patogen sehingga tidak baik untuk di konsumsi.

Three main objectives of conservation are protection, preservation and sustainable utilization. Timor deer is one of Indonesian wild animal that has many benefits and high economic value. But the current Timor deer population continues to decrease with population decline rate of 10% in each generation. It caused by harvesting without considering sustainability. Therefore it is necessary to manage the population for Timor deer, so it can be available for sustainable use. Optimum sustainable population is a threshold population size for sustainable harvesting. The purpose of this study is to estimate the optimum sustainable population size so Timor deer can be utilized sustainably in the future. The method used was projecting the actual population by using Leslie matrix (Density Dependence) so that population growth can be seen. The optimum sustainable population is the size of the population with the highest growth rate. The time used for this population projection is 100 years. Based on the results of this research, the optimum sustainable population size for Timor deer in the Pananjung Pangandaran nature reserve and Natural Park is 751 individuals and the optimum sustainable population size will be achieved in 2047.

Lianas is one of the conspicuous plants in tropical rainforests. One of remaining tropical rainforest in West Java which potentially as lianas habitat is Gunung Tilu Nature Reserve. This research aims are inventory and determine the diversity of lianas in Gambung area which is the most potential area for lianas habitat in Gunung Tilu nature reserve. This research was carried out by a descriptive exploratory method. Sampling was done by combining transect and quadrat technique method, with the length of the transect is 700m which stretched from an altitude of 1489mpl (the lowest altitude at the study site) to 1580mdpl (highest altitude). The results showed that there were 13 families, 15 genera with 24 species of lianas. Tetrastigma sp. is the type of liana with the highest Important Value Index of 29.24%, while Aeschynanthus sp.2 and Cissampelos pareira have the lowest Important Value Index of 0.47%. Lianas Shannon – Wiener diversity index in Gambung area Gunung Tilu nature reserve is 1.092.

Timor Deer (Rusa Timorensis) population in Pananjung Pangandaran Natural Park and Nature Reserve is decreasing. Conservation is needed to reduce the rate of population decline. Minimum viable population (MVP) is the basic information that need to know as management tool for conservation. MVP is the minimum population size that will ensure the viability of a species in a given period of time. MVP of more than a thousand species was determine generally, whereas specific MVP for every age class is necessary for efficient conservation strategy. On this study we estimate MVP of Timor Deer base on demographic parameters using Algebra linear equation system from matrix Leslie model to get specific MVP size for every age class. MVP size for Timor deer in Pananjung Pangandaran Natural Park and Nature Reserve is 97 individuals, with the composition of 32 juveniles, 47 sub-adults,and 18 adults. The actual Timor Deer population is 68 individuals with the composition of 16 juveniles, 21 sub-adults, and 31 adults. Base on this study, we have to increase juvenile and sub-adult population to ensure the viability of Timor Deer in Pananjung Pangandaran nature park and nature reserve.

Black soldier fly, Hermetia illucens is one organism that widely used to reduce organic wastes through bioconversion process by employing the ability of larvae to consume various types of organic waste. This process changes organic waste into larvae and prepupae biomass which was developed in order to provide an alternative protein source for animal feedstock. In this study, the effect of four experimental diets was analyzed, namely horse manure, a mixture of horse manure and vegetable waste, sheep manure and a mixture of sheep manure and vegetable waste. Newly hatched larvae were inoculated on experimental diets. The sample of 20 larvae from 5 replicates were measured and weighed until pupae stage. Nutrient content of prepupae reared on experimental diet were analyzed proximately. The effects of diet on development time, growth of the larval stages, mortality, fecundity and nutritional composition of black soldier fly were studied. Results indicate that a mixture of horse manure and vegetable waste diet was the best of the four diets in terms of the shorter of development time, the lowest of percentage mortality, the highest of fecundity and the better of nutritional content. In conclusion, both of morphological development and the nutritional ingredient of black soldier fly were highly determined by the used growing substrates and food ingested. Addition of vegetable waste can improve growth performance and nutritional content of black soldier fly when reared on horse and sheep manure.
